| 3 | Findings from 2010 Global Adult Tobacco Survey: Implementation of MPOWER Policy in China显示文摘Objective To assess the implementation of five key tobacco control policies in China: protection from second-hand smoke (SHS); offering help to quit; health warnings regarding tobacco use; the enforcement of bans on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship; and increasing tobacco taxes and prices. Methods Using 2010 Global Adults Tobacco Survey in China (GATS-China), 10 indicators are used to assess the implementation of five key tobacco control policies of MPOWER in China. Results Overall, 63.3% and 72.7% of adultsnoticed people smoking indoor workplaces and public places, respectively. Approximately 60% of smokers were not asked about their smoking habits and approximately 67% were not advised to quit on their visit to a health worker. Sixty percent of adults noticed health warning messages on cigarette packaging and in the media in the last 30 days, 63.6% stated that they would not consider quitting. Twenty percent of respondents noticed tobacco advertising, promotion, and/or sponsorship activities in the 30 days prior to the survey. Among them, 76.3% noticed the direct advertising and 50% noticed from TV programs. Although purchasing price of one pack of cigarettes ranged from 1 to 200 RMB, 50% of current smokers (about 150 million) spent 5 RMB or less on one pack of cigarette. The expenditure on 100 packets of cigarettes represents 2% of 2009 GDP per capita. | 9 | High performance columnar-like Fe2O3@carbon composite anode via yolk@shell structural design显示文摘Conversion-type reaction anode materials with high specific capacity are attractive candidates to improve lithium ion batteries(LIBs), yet the rapid capacity fading and poor rate capability caused by drastic volume change and low electronic conductivity greatly hinder their practical applications. To circumvent these issues, the successful design of yolk@shell Fe2 O3@C hybrid composed of a columnar-like Fe2O3 core within a hollow cavity completely surrounded by a thin, self-supported carbon(C) shell is presented as an anode for high-performance LIBs. This yolk@shell structure allows each Fe2O3 core to swell upon lithiation without deforming the carbon shell. This preserves the structural and electrical integrity against pulverization, as revealed by in situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM) measurement. Benefiting from these structural advantages, the resulting electrode exhibits a high reversible capacity(1013 m Ah g-1 after80 cycles at 0.2 A g-1), outstanding rate capability(710 m Ah g-1 at 8 A g-1) and superior cycling stability(800 m Ah g-1 after 300 cycles at 4 A g-1). In the presence of highly dynamic environment, benchmark algorithms usually have deteriorated performance. By treating the source signals as a function of the arrival angles, a sequential Bayesian tracking approach named Simultaneous angle-source update(SASU) is proposed based on the Maximum a posteriori(MAP) principle. The key feature of the proposed approach is to simultaneously update the arrival angles and the source signals in the Kalman filter step by converting the update process of the state vector into a joint optimization problem. An iterative Newton method to efficiently solve the joint optimization problem is proposed. | 15 | Antiphospholipid syndrome:a clinical perspective显示文摘Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a thromboinflammatory disease with a variety of clinical phenotypes. Primary thrombosis prophylaxis should take an individualized risk stratification approach. Moderate-intensity vitamin K antagonist such as warfarin remains the primary strategy for secondary thrombosis prophylaxis among APS patients, especially for patients with predominantly venous disease. For now, direct oral anti-coagulants should be avoided in most APS patients, especially those with history of arterial manifestations. Obstetric APS management should be tailored based on an individual patient’s antiphospholipid antibody profile, and obstetric and thrombotic history. Pharmacological agents beyond anticoagulants may be considered for the management of microthrombotic and nonthrombotic manifestations of APS, although more data are needed. A relatively recent discovery in the area of APS pathogenesis is the implication of neutrophil extracellular traps in thrombin generation and initiation of inflammatory cascades. APS is a complex thromboinflammatory disease with a broad clinical spectrum. | 18 | HIV incidence among men who have sex with men using geosocial networking smartphone application in Beijing, China: an open cohort study显示文摘Background:Sexual transmission among men who have sex with men(MSM)is the dominant route of HIV transmission in China.Extensive use of geosocial networking(GSN)smartphone application(app)has dramatically changed the pattern of sexual behaviors and HIV risk among MSM;but data on HIV incidence and the changing risk behaviors of GSN app-using MSM are limited.We aims to assess the HIV incidence and its correlates among gay GSN app-using MSM in China.Methods:We constructed an open cohort which was initiated and maintained using a GSN app to assess the HIV incidence among app-using MSM,recruited from June 2017 to December 2018.MSM completed an online questionnaire on their sociodemographic characteristics,sexual behaviors,recreational drug use and sexually transmitted infections status.Then each man had an HIV test,and those tested negatives were enrolled into the cohort.Participants completed follow-ups with additional HIV tests though the app during the study period,and were censored at HIV seroconversion or study end date.HIV incidence was calculated by dividing the sum of observed HIV seroconversions by the observed person-time.Univariate(Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test)and multivariate(proportional hazards regression)analyses were used to examine correlates of HIV incidence.Results:A total of 6957 HIV negative MSM were enrolled in the open cohort,37 seroconversions occurred among 1937 men contributing 1065 observed person-years:HIV incidence was 3.47 per 100 person-years[95%confidence interval(Cl):2.37-4.57].More than five sexual partners[hazard ratio(HR)=2.65,95%Cl:1.04-6.67],and sex with HIV positive partners(HR=3.82,95%Cl:1.16-12.64)in the preceding six months were positively associated with HIV seroconversion.Consistent condom use for anal sex(HR=0.27,95%Cl:0.07-0.96),and reporting insertive anal sex only(HR=0.23,95%Cl:0.08-0.62)in the preceding six months were protective factors for HIV seroconversion.Conclusions:Tailored interventions targeting app-using MSM are urgently needed given their high risk of HIV.As a new tool for accessing MSM at higher HIV risk,GSN smartphone app could play an important role in HIV research among MSM. | Guo-Dong Mi Bin-Bin Zhang Fei Yu Xian-Long Ren Jason JOng Ya-Qi Fan Feng-Hua Guo Chun-Jun Li Mian-Zhi Zhang Min-Ying Zhang | 2021 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2021,10,2: | 3 |
