1A review of recent advances in tribology显示文摘The reach of tribology has expanded in diverse fields and tribology related research activities have seen immense growth during the last decade.This review takes stock of the recent advances in research pertaining to different aspects of tribology within the last 2 to 3 years.Different aspects of tribology that have been reviewed including lubrication,wear and surface engineering,biotribology,high tem perature tribology,and computational tribology.This review attempts to highlight recent research and also presents future outlook pertaining to these aspects.It may however be noted that there are limitations of this review.One of the most important of these is that tribology being a highly multidisciplinary field,the research results are widely spread across various disciplines and there can be omissions because of this.Secondly,the topics dealt with in the field of tribology include only some of the salient topics(such as lubrication,wear,surface engineering,biotribology,high tem perature tribology,and computational tribology)but there are many more aspects of tribology that have not been covered in this review.Despite these limitations it is hoped that such a review will bring the most recent salient research in focus and will be beneficial for the growing community of tribology researchers.Yonggang MENG Jun XU Zhongmin JIN Braham PRAKASH Yuanzhong HU 2020Friction2020,8,2:31
2Bio-friction显示文摘Friction studies in biological systems are reviewed,including synovial joints(cartilage,meniscus),eye,pleurae,fat pad,skin,and oral cavity as well as daily activities associated with shaving,brushing,slip,etc.Both natural systems and medical interventions in terms of diagnoses and artificial replacements are considered.Important relevant biomechanical,physiological,and anatomical factors are reviewed in conjunction with friction studies in terms of both methodologies and friction coefficients.Important underlying tribological mechanisms related to friction are briefly discussed.A unified view on the lubrication mechanism responsible for the low friction in most soft biological tissues is presented.Zhongmin JIN Duncan DOWSON 2013Friction2013,1,2:10
3Numerical surface characterization of wear debris from artificial joints using atomic force microscopy显示文摘Study on surface features of wear particles generated in wear process provides an insight into the progress of material failure of artificial joints. It is very important to quantify the surface features of wear particles in three dimensions. In this study, a new approach using atomic force microscopy was proposed to carry out 3D numerical surface characterization of wear debris generated from artificial joints. Atomic force microscopy combined with image processing techniques was used to acquire appropriate 3D images of wear debris. Computerized image analysis techniques were then used to quantify surface texture features of wear debris such as surface roughness parameters and surface texture index. 5A review of the bio-tribology of medical devices显示文摘Numerous medical devices have been applied for the treatment or alleviation of various diseases.Tribological issues widely exist in those medical devices and play vital roles in determining their performance and service life.In this review,the bio-tribological issues involved in commonly used medical devices are identified,including artificial joints,fracture fixation devices,skin-related devices,dental restoration devices,cardiovascular devices,and surgical instruments.The current understanding of the bio-tribological behavior and mechanism involved in those devices is summarized.Recent advances in the improvement of tribological properties are examined.Challenges and future developments for the prospective of bio-tribological performance are highlighted.Xiaogang ZHANG Yali ZHANG Zhongmin JIN 2022Friction2022,10,1:4

9γ射线辐照交联PVA水凝胶关节软骨修复材料的结构与性能研究显示文摘目的研究制备工艺对γ射线辐照交联PVA水凝胶关节软骨修复材料的结构与摩擦学性能的影响,为其在关节软骨损伤修复领域的应用提供理论基础。方法采用冷冻解冻和辐照交联相结合的方法制备聚乙烯醇(PVA)水凝胶,研究其微观形貌、含水量及与自然软骨配副的摩擦学性能。结果(1)微观结构的观察表明,制备的PVA水凝胶具有三维多孔网络结构,辐照交联使得网络结构更加致密和完善;(2)水凝胶的含水量随着辐照剂量和PVA浓度的增加而减小;(3)在往复式销-盘摩擦磨损试验机上,研究本水凝胶材料与自然关节软骨配副时的摩擦学性能,结果表明,摩擦的起始阶段,双相润滑机制其主导作用,载荷主要由水凝胶中的液体相所承担,摩擦系数较小,随着载荷作用时间的延长,固体相所承受载荷的比例相对增高,摩擦系数渐渐增大且趋于稳定,润滑机制转为边界润滑。摩擦系数随着辐照剂量和PVA浓度的增加而减小。马如银 熊党生 彭艳 金加波 Laura McCann Zhongmin Jin John Fisher 2009医用生物力学2009,24,5:2

11Elastohydrodynamic lubrication and wear modelling of the knee joint replacements with surface topography显示文摘This numerical study predicted wear of lubricated total knee replacements with the existing of textured surfaceand the possibility of surface designs to reduce wear.In the first part,a wear model of metal-on-polyethylene total kneereplacement was developed.The medial and lateral knee compartments was accounted for separately,with the contactforce and motion during walking cycles applied.An adapted Archard wear formula was employed where the wearfactor was an exponential function of the'Lambda ratio'(film thickness to the average roughness).Wear of the softbearing surface(polyethylene insert)was simulated with regularly geometry update until a steady-state wear observed.ln the second part,the effect of surface topography of the knee replacements was investigated.The surface texturingtechniques have shown promising benefit to machine components in many areas of engineering practice.The textureparameters were designed using the Taguchi method for the geometry,size,and distribution of the micro dimples.twas observed that the lateral compartment may benefit from surface texturing if dimples were properly designed,while the texturing showed hardly advantageous effect on the medial surface in terms of lubrication enhancement andwear reduction.Some results were presented in the 6th World Tribology Conference.Leiming Gao Zikai Hua Robert Hewson Michael Skipper Andersen Zhongmin Jin 2018Biosurface and Biotribology2018,4,1:2

18Investigation of Voids in Polyacrylonitrile Fibers by USAXS and SAXS显示文摘The void structure of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)fibers was investigated using ultra-small angle X-ray scat-tering(USAXS)and small angle X-ray scattering(SAXS).A quantitative method was developed to analyze connected USAXS/SAXS data and thus determine the void parameters of PAN fibers.The results showed that voids affected the mechanical performance of PAN fibers and were present throughout the entire wet-spinning process.When the abso-lute quantity and size of voids decreased,the tensile strength and modulus of PAN fibers increased.The void para-meters were optimized by controlling the production process,and thus the tensile strength and modulus of PAN fibers were increased.The method for analyzing the void structure developed in this study is useful for analyzing voids over with larger size range,as well as the effect of the void structure on the mechanical performance of fibers.TANG Haitong MENG Fanling LIU Yan JIN Shi WANG Xiaodong GAO Zhongmin CHE Xiaolei 2019Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2019,35,6:1

20Incremental QR-based tensor-train decomposition for industrial big data显示文摘Industrial big data was usually multi-source, heterogeneous, and deeply intertwined. It had a wide range of data sources, high data dimensions, and strong data correlation. In order to effectively analyze and process streaming industrial big data generated by edge computing, it was very important to provide an effective real-time incremental data method. However, in the process of incremental processing, industrial big data incremental computing faced the challenges of dimensional disaster, repeated calculations, and the explosion of intermediate results. Therefore, in order to solve the above problems effectively, a QR-based tensor-train(TT) decomposition(TTD) method and a QR-based incremental TTD(QRITTD) method were proposed. This algorithm combined the incremental QR-based decomposition algorithm with an approximate singular value decomposition(SVD) algorithm and had good scalability. In addition, the computational complexity, space complexity, and approximation error analysis were analyzed in detail. The effectiveness of the three algorithms of QRITTD, non-incremental TTD(NITTD), and TT rank-1(TTr1) SVD(TTr1 SVD)were verified by comparison.
