1'Charge while driving'for electric vehicles:road traffic modeling and energy assessment显示文摘The aim of this research study is to present a method for analyzing the performance of the wireless inductive charge-while-driving(CWD)electric vehicles,from both traffic and energy points of view.To accurately quantify the electric power required from an energy supplier for the proper management of the charging system,a traffic simulation model is implemented.This model is based on a mesoscopic approach,and it is applied to a freight distribution scenario.Lane changing and positioning are managed according to a cooperative system among vehicles and supported by advanced driver assistance systems(ADAS).From the energy point of view,the analyses indicate that the traffic may have the following effects on the energy of the system:in a low traffic level scenario,the maximum power that should be supplied for the entire road is simulated at approximately 9 MW;and in a high level traffic scenario with lower average speeds,the maximum power required by the vehicles in the charging lane increases by more than 50%.Francesco Paolo DEFLORIO Luca CASTELLO Ivano PINNA Paolo GUGLIELMI 2015Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,2:10
2Precision and efficiency in solid-state pseudopotential calculations显示文摘Despite the enormous success and popularity of density-functional theory,systematic verification and validation studies are still limited in number and scope.Here,we propose a protocol to test publicly available pseudopotential libraries,based on several independent criteria including verification against all-electron equations of state and plane-wave convergence tests for phonon frequencies,band structure,cohesive energy and pressure.Adopting these criteria we obtain curated pseudopotential libraries(named SSSP or standard solid-state pseudopotential libraries),that we target for high-throughput materials screening(“SSSP efficiency”)and high-precision materials modelling(“SSSP precision”).This latter scores highest among open-source pseudopotential libraries available in theΔ-factor test of equations of states of elemental solids.Gianluca Prandini Antimo Marrazzo Ivano E.Castelli Nicolas Mounet Nicola Marzari 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:5

5Comparative outcome of stapled trans-anal rectal resection and macrogol in the treatment of defecation disorders显示文摘AIM:To prospectively assess the eff icacy and safety of stapled trans-anal rectal resection(STARR) compared to standard conservative treatment,and whether preoperative symptoms and findings at defecography and anorectal manometry can predict the outcome of STARR.METHODS:Thirty patients(Female,28;age:51 ± 9 years) with rectocele or rectal intussusception,a defecation disorder,and functional constipation were submitted for STARR.Thirty comparable patients(Female,30;age 53 ± 13 years),who presented with symptoms of rectocele or rectal intussusception and were treated with macrogol,were assessed.Patients were interviewed with a standardized questionnaire at study enrollment and 38 ± 18 mo after the STARR procedure or during macrogol treatment.A responder was def ined as an absence of the Rome Ⅲ diagnostic criteria for functional constipation.Defecography and rectoanal manometry were performed before and after the STARR procedure in 16 and 12 patients,respectively.RESULTS:After STARR,53% of patients were responders;during conservative treatment,75% were responders.After STARR,30% of the patients reported the use of laxatives,17% had intermittent anal pain,13% had anal leakage,13% required digital facilitation,6% experienced defecatory urgency,6% experienced fecal incontinence,and 6% required re-intervention.During macrogol therapy,23% of the patients complained of abdominal bloating and 13% of borborygmi,and 3% required digital facilitation.No preoperative symptom,defecographic,or manometric finding predicted the outcome of STARR.Post-operative defecography showed a statistically significant reduction(P < 0.05) of the rectal diameter and rectocele.The postoperative anorectal manometry showed that anal pressure and rectal sensitivity were not significantly modified,and that rectal compliance was reduced(P = 0.01).CONCLUSION:STARR is not better and is less safe than macrogol in the treatment of defecation disorders.It could be considered as an alternative therapy in patients unresponsive to macrogol.Ivano Biviano Danilo Badiali Laura Candeloro Fortunée Irene Irene Habib Massimo Mongardini Angelo Caviglia Fiorella Anzini Enrico S Corazziari 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,37:3
6Realization of the first sub-shot-noise wide field microscope显示文摘Recently,several proof of principle experiments have demonstrated the advantages of quantum technologies over classical schemes.The present challenge is to surpass the limits of proof of principle demonstrations to approach real applications.This letter presents such an achievement in the field of quantum enhanced imaging.In particular,we describe the realization of a sub-shot-noise wide field microscope based on spatially multi-mode non-classical photon number correlations in twin beams.The microscope produces realtime images of 8000 pixels at full resolution,for a 500μm2 field of view,with noise reduced to 80%of the shot noise level(for each pixel),which is suitable for absorption imaging of complex structures.By fast post-elaboration,specifically applying a quantum enhanced median filter,the noise can be further reduced(to o30%of the shot noise level)by setting a trade-off with the resolution,thus achieving the best sensitivity per incident photon reported in absorption microscopy.Nigam Samantaray Ivano Ruo-Berchera Alice Meda Marco Genovese 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:3

8Thermonuclear ^19F(p,α0)^16O reaction rate显示文摘The thermonuclear^(19)F(p,α_0)16O reaction rate in the temperature region 0.007–10 GK has been derived by re-evaluating the available experimental data, together with the low-energy theoretical R-matrix extrapolations.Our new rate deviates by up to about 30% compared to the previous results, although all rates are consistent within the uncertainties. At very low temperature(e.g. 0.01 GK) our reaction rate is about 20% lower than the most recently published rate, because of a difference in the low energy extrapolated S-factor and a more accurate estimate of the reduced mass used in the calculation of the reaction rate. At temperatures above ~1 GK, our rate is lower, for instance, by about 20% around 1.75 GK, because we have re-evaluated the previous data(Isoya et al., Nucl. Phys.7, 116(1958)) in a meticulous way. The present interpretation is supported by the direct experimental data. The uncertainties of the present evaluated rate are estimated to be about 20% in the temperature region below 0.2 GK,and are mainly caused by the lack of low-energy experimental data and the large uncertainties in the existing data.Asymptotic giant branch(AGB) stars evolve at temperatures below 0.2 GK, where the^(19)F(p,α)16O reaction may play a very important role. However, the current accuracy of the reaction rate is insufficient to help to describe, in a careful way, the fluorine over-abundances observed in AGB stars.
