| 8 | Novel computerized learning system using indicidual student response devices显示文摘The aim of this presentation is to give an overview of the possibilities that new technologies provide the choice of learning materials and evaluation schemes. In early 1960s it was shown that breaking lectures by any sensory provocation of the students gives a better focusing of the audience and also a better learning impact. We introduced a computer based evaluation system for the physiology course in 1972. In this system students used preprinted port-a-punch computer card to collect the replies. The benefits of the system were reduced work load of teachers in correcting the exams and students got better feedback of their learning process. The validity of multiple-choice examinations was shown to be at last as good as using essay-type examination.The system has been developed further ending up to a completely computerised system (interactive presenter) including a server based learning source bank of sides and videos. Our studies on the use of small handheld keypads,clickers go back to 1995. Clickers have proved their time saving value in pre-exams,during the lectures,workshops,team learning and in supporting other learning concepts like Learning Café,Team Learning by providing information about the knowledge basis of the participants,also during the learning process and at the end of the whole course. The teacher can collect his/her presentation from the bank of hundreds slides and videos. As the response data is continuously stored in computer,it is easy to compare starting points of every class and the learning outcomes obtained after the presentations. Several studies have shown the positive emotional impact of the system.
