| 1 | Effects of operational factors on soluble microbial products in a carrier anaerobic baffled reactor treating dilute wastewater显示文摘The effects of feed strength, hydraulic residence time (HRT), and operational temperatures on soluble microbial product (SMP) production were investigated, to gain insights into the production mechanism. A carrier anaerobic baffled reactor (CABR) treating dilute wastewater was operated under a wide range of operational conditions, namely, feed strengths of 300–600 mg/L, HRTs of 9– 18 h, and temperatures of 10–28°C. Generally, SMP production increased with increasing feed strength and decreasing temperature. At high temperature (28°C), SMP production increased with decreasing HRT. As the temperature was decreased to 18 and 10°C, the SMP production was at its peak for 12 h HRT. Therefore, temperature could be an important determinant of SMP production along with HRT. A higher SMP to soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) ratio was found at high temperature and long HRT because of complete volatile fatty acid degradation. SMP accounted for 50%–75% of the SCOD in the last chamber of the CABR. | 2 | Studies on the evolution process of rockbursts in deep tunnels显示文摘This paper focuses on the evolution processes of different types of rockbursts occurring in deep tunnels. A series of laboratory tests and in-situ monitoring in deep tunnels excavated by tunnel boring machine (TBM) and drill-and-blast (D&B) method have been conducted to understand the mechanisms and processes of the evolution of different types of rockbursts, including strain rockburst, strain-structure slip rockburst, immediate rockburst and time-delayed rockburst. Three different risk assessment methods are proposed to evaluate the intensity and potential failure depth of rockbursts. These methods can be applied before excavation and the results can be updated according to the real-time information during excavation. Two micro-seismicity based real-time warning systems have been established for predicting various intensities of rockbursts, such as slight, moderate, intensive and extremely intensive rockbursts. Meanwhile, the probability and intensity of the rockburst are also given. The strategy for excavation and support design has been suggested for various intensities of rockbursts before excavation. The strategy for dynamic control of the rockburst evolution process is also proposed according to the monitoring results. The methodology has been successfully applied to rockburst risk reduction for deep tunnels at Jinping II hydropower project. | 4 | Effect of sulfur source on photocatalytic degradation performance of CdS/MoS2 prepared with one-step hydrothermal synthesis显示文摘Cd S/Mo S_2,an extremely efficient photocatalyst,has been extensively used in hydrogen photoproduction and pollutant degradation.Cd S/Mo S_2can be synthesized by a facile one-step hydrothermal process.However,the effect of the sulfur source on the synthesis of Cd S/Mo S_2via one-step hydrothermal methods has seldom been investigated.We report herein a series of one-step hydrothermal preparations of Cd S/Mo S_2using three different sulfur sources:thioacetamide,L-cysteine,and thiourea.The results revealed that the sulfur source strongly affected the crystallization,morphology,elemental composition and ultraviolet(UV)–visible-light-absorption ability of the Cd S/Mo S_2.Among the investigated sulfur sources,thioacetamide provided the highest visible-light absorption ability for Cd S/Mo S_2,with the smallest average particle size and largest surface area,resulting in the highest efficiency in Methylene Blue(MB)degradation.The photocatalytic activity of Cd S/Mo S_2synthesized from the three sulfur sources can be arranged in the following order:thioacetamide>L-cysteine>thiourea.The reaction rate constants(k)for thioacetamide,L-cysteine,and thiourea were estimated to be 0.0197,0.0140,and 0.0084 min^(-1),respectively.However,thioacetamide may be limited in practical application in terms of its price and toxicity,while L-cysteine is relatively economical,less toxic and exhibited good photocatalytic degradation performance toward MB. | Yanfeng Wang Wei Chen Xiao Chen Huajun Feng Dongsheng Shen Bin Huang Yufeng Jia Yuyang Zhou Yuxiang Liang | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3: | 3 |

| 9 | Numerical simulation of operation performance on production and injection of a double well geothermal system in Kailu Basin, Inner Mongolia显示文摘Inner Mongolia is abundant in geothermal resources,but the development and utilization of medium-depth geothermal resources for clean heating in winter is still in the preliminary stage compared with the neighboring provinces.In this paper,a recently developed geothermal heating system using the Mesozoic sandstone reservoirs in Baokang of Kailu Basin,Eastern Inner Mongolia was investigated,a threedimensional geological model of a pair of production and injection well was established,and numerical simulations on the long term operation performance were conducted and verified by pumping test and water level recovery test data.The effects of flow rates,the direction of wells,injection temperature and ratios on the flow field and water level in the thermal reservoir were analyzed.The results show that considering a 30-year operation period and a production rate from 90 m^(3)/h to 110 m^(3)/h,the optimum well spacing can be increased from 225 m to 245 m,with an average value of 235 m.With the decrease of the injection temperature,the cold front of the injection water has an increasing influence on the temperature in the production well.A complete injection or the principle of production according to injection is recommended in order to maintain the long-term operation stability.In addition,the location of the injection well should be arranged in the downstream of the natural flow field.The present results can provide a useful guide for the optimum design and performance prediction of geothermal wells,thus maintaining the production and injection balance and promoting the sustainable development and utilization of medium-depth and deep geothermal resources. | Yu-kun Sun Feng Liu Huajun Wang Xin-zhi Gao | 2022 | Journal of Groundwater Science and Engineering2022,10,2: | 1 |
