1Chinese Stroke Center Alliance:a national effort to improve healthcare quality for acute stroke and transient ischaemic attack:rationale,design and preliminary findings显示文摘Background In June 2015,the Chinese Stroke Association(CSA)initiated the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance(CSCA)to establish the national hospital-based stroke care quality assessment and improvement platform.This article outlines its objectives,operational structure,patient population,quality improvement(QI)intervention tools,data elements,data collection methodology and current patient and hospital data.Methods The CSCA is a national,hospital-based,multicentre,voluntary,multifaceted intervention and continuous QI initiative.This multifaceted intervention includes stroke centre development,written care protocols,workshops and a monitoring/feedback system of evidencebased performance measures.The data coordinating centre of the CSCA resides at the China National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases,Beijing Tiantan Hospital.results As of July 2017,1576 hospitals in China have contributed detailed clinical information to serve as a benchmark for the stroke care quality of 433264 patients with acute stroke/transient ischaemic attacks(TIA),including 352572(81.38%)acute ischaemic stroke,30362(7.01%)TIA,42080(9.71%)spontaneous intracranial haemorrhage,5505(1.27%)subarachnoid haemorrhage and 2745(0.63%)not specified stroke.Conclusion The CSCA programme is designed to establish a continuous national stroke registry and help healthcare providers develop stroke centres and treat patients in a consistent manner in accordance with accepted national guidelines and,ultimately,improve patient outcomes.It supports the CSA mission to reduce stroke burden in China.Yongjun Wang Zixiao Li Yilong Wang Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Xin Yang Caiyun Wang Hongqiu Gu Fuying Zhang Chunjuan Wang Ying Xian David Z Wang Qiang Dong Anding Xu Jizong Zhao Chinese Stroke Center Alliance investigators 2018Stroke & Vascular Neurology2018,3,4:38

3Chinese Stroke Association guidelines for clinical management of cerebrovascular disorders:executive summary and 2019 update of clinical management of spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage显示文摘caused by ruptured cerebral aneurysm is a severe subtype of haemorrhagic stroke.Although the incidence of SAH is relatively low among all cerebrovascular diseases,the mortality is the highest.The critical management of SAH is challenging.We provide this evidence-based guideline to present current and comprehensive recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of non-trauma SAH.Methods A formal literature search of MEDLINE(1 January 1990-30 June 2019)was performed.Data were synthesised with the use of evidence tables.Writing group members met by teleconference to discuss data-derived recommendations.The Chinese Stroke Association’s levels of evidence grading algorithm was used to grade each recommendation.The guideline draft was reviewed by Chinese Stroke Association’s Stroke Fellow Committees.It is intended that this guideline be fully updated every 3 years.results Evidence-based guidelines are presented for the care of patients presenting with non-trauma SAH.The focus of the guideline was subdivided into transfer and systems of care,diagnosis flowchart,aetiology and differentiation,prevention of rebleeding,surgical and endovascular repair of ruptured aneurysms,management of vasospasm and delayed cerebral ischaemia,management of hydrocephalus,management of seizures and management of medical complications.Conclusions The guideline offers a framework for SAH management.Early professional and aggressive care of SAH might help dramatically.Yi Dong Zhen-Ni Guo Qi Li Wei Ni Hongqiu Gu Yu-Xiang Gu Qiang Dong 2019Stroke & Vascular Neurology2019,4,4:15
4Characteristics of Settings and Etiologic Agents of Foodborne Disease Outbreaks—China,2020显示文摘Introduction:Foodborne diseases are a growing public health problem and have caused a large burden of disease in China.This study analyzed epidemiological characteristics of foodborne diseases in China in 2020 to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control measures.Methods:Data were collected from 30 of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)in the mainland of China,excluding Xizang(Tibet)Autonomous Region,via the National Foodborne Disease Outbreaks Surveillance System・The number and proportion of outbreaks,illnesses,hospitalizations,deaths by setting,pathogen-food category pairs and etiology were calculated.Results:In 2020,7,073 foodborne disease outbreaks were reported,resulting in 37,454 illnesses and 143 deaths.Among the identified pathogens,microbial pathogens were the most common confirmed etiology,accounting for 41.7%of illnesses.Poisonous mushrooms caused the largest proportion of outbreaks(58.0%)and deaths(57.6%).For venues where foodborne disease outbreaks occur,household had the highest number of outbreaks(4,140)and deaths(128),and catering service locations caused the largest proportion of illnesses(59.9%).Outbreaks occurring between June and September accounted for 62.8%of total outbreaks.Conclusions:Foodborne disease outbreaks mainly occurred in households・Microbial pathogens remained the top cause of outbreak-associated illnesses.Poisonous mushrooms were ranked the top cause of deaths in private homes in China.The supervision and management of food safety and health education should be strengthened to reduce the burden of foodborne diseases・Publicity should be increased to reduce the incidence of mushroom poisonings in families,and supervision and management of food should be strengthened to reduce microbial contamination.Hongqiu Li Weiwei Li Yue Dai Yuyan Jiang Junhua Liang Santao Wang Maoqiang Zhuang Zheng Huang Lizi Xu Bo Xue Jikai Liu Haihong Han Sara M.Pires Ping Fu Yunchang Guo 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,42:14
5Predictors of dysphagia screening and pneumonia among patients with acute ischaemic stroke in China:findings from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance(CSCA)显示文摘Background and purpose Guidelines recommend dysphagia screening to identify those at high risk of pneumonia.However,little is known about the prevalence and predictors of dysphagia screening and pneumonia among patients with acute ischaemic stroke in China.Methods Using data from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance,which is a multicentre,prospective,consecutive patient enrolment programme,univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to identify patient and hospital characteristics associated with dysphagia screening and pneumonia during acute hospitalisation.Results Of 790811 patients admitted to 1476 hospitals,622718(78.7%)underwent dysphagia screening,and 64398(8.1%)developed pneumonia.Patients in stroke units were more likely to be screened for dysphagia than those not in stroke units(OR 1.50;95%CI 1.48 to 1.52),while patients with a past history of stroke were less likely to be screened(OR 0.87;95%CI 0.86 to 0.88).Dysphagia screening(OR 1.46;95%CI 1.30 to 1.65),dysphagia(OR 7.31;95%CI 7.15 to 7.46),and admission to stroke units(OR 1.17;95%CI 1.14 to 1.19)were significantly associated with a greater risk of pneumonia.Conclusions Dysphagia was a critical factor in the development of pneumonia.Nearly one in five patients with acute ischaemic stroke in the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance were not screened for dysphagia.Pneumonia prevention during acute hospitalisation is dependent not only on dysphagia screening but also on the effectiveness of subsequent dysphagia management interventions.Further studies are needed to elucidate the relationship between dysphagia screening,stroke unit care and pneumonia in patients with acute ischaemic stroke.Jianshu Liang Zhike Yin Zixiao Li Hongqiu Gu Kaixuan Yang Yunyun Xiong Yongjun Wang Chunjuan Wang 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4:5
6Preparation of hollow alumina nanospheres via surfactant-assisted flame spray pyrolysis显示文摘Hollow Al2O3 nanospheres with well-defined structure and shape were successfully prepared via flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) in the presence of a surfactant as droplet stabilizer. The morphology and structure of the nanospheres were systematically characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and N 2 sorption. A solution of hydrated aluminum nitrate, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and absolute ethanol was sprayed into a flame to transform droplets into particles after evaporation and surface nucleation, forming hollow Al2O3 nanospheres from aluminum nitrate decomposition. The surfactant was found effective in producing smaller droplets because of decreased surface tension and viscosity, while the combination of oxygen atoms on PEG chains and aluminum ions in solution reduced interfacial turbulence, leading to increased stability of the droplets.Yanjie Hu Hongqiu Ding Chunzhong Li 2011Particuology2011,9,5:5
7Modeling, Optimization, and Control of Solution Purification Process in Zinc Hydrometallurgy显示文摘The solution purification process is an essential step in zinc hydrometallurgy. The performance of solution purification directly affects the normal functioning and economical benefits of zinc hydrometallurgy. This paper summarizes the authors' recent work on the modeling, optimization, and control of solution purification process. The online measurable property of the oxidation reduction potential(ORP) and the multiple reactors, multiple running statuses characteristic of the solution purification process are extensively utilized in this research. The absence of reliable online equipment for detecting the impurity ion concentration is circumvented by introducing the oxidationreduction potential into the kinetic model. A steady-state multiple reactors gradient optimization, unsteady-state operationalpattern adjustment strategy, and a process evaluation strategy based on the oxidation-reduction potential are proposed. 8CO_(2) combining power and outcomes in patients with acute ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack显示文摘Background and purpose The clinical significance of carbon dioxide combining power(CO_(2) CP)in ischaemic cerebrovascular disease is not well established,and the role of CO_(2) CP in the prognosis of acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)or transient ischaemic attack(TIA)has not been reported.The objective of the study was to investigate the associations between CO2CP and clinical outcomes in patients with AIS or TIA.Methods Data were derived from the China National Stroke Registry III.Patients were classified into five groups by quintiles of CO_(2) CP levels and three groups according to the normal range of CO_(2)CP(23-29 mmol/L).Multivariable Cox and logistic regressions were adopted to explore the associations of CO_(2) CP levels with all-cause death and poor functional outcomes(modified Rankin Scale(mRS)3-6/2-6)at 3 months and 1 year.Results Among 9531 patients included in the study,the median(IQR)CO_(2) CP was 24.9(23.0-27.0)mmol/L.After adjustment for potential confounders,patients in the first CO_(2) CP quintile(21.1-23.3 mmol/L)had higher risk of all-cause death and poor functional outcomes(mRS score of 3-6/2-6)(HR or OR with 95% CI 2.37(1.32 to 4.25),1.49(1.20 to 1.83)and 1.21(1.03 to 1.42),respectively)compared with those in the fourth quintile.Similar results were found for outcomes at 1 year.Furthermore,all associations were also significant when CO_(2) CP was<23 mmol/L compared with CO_(2) CP of 23-29 mmol/L.Conclusions Decreased CO_(2) CP was associated with high risk of all-cause death and poor functional outcomes in patients with AIS or TIA.Anxin Wang Xue Tian Hongqiu Gu Yingting Zuo Xia Meng Wei Lv Hao Li Yongjun Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,2:2
9Type I vaccine-derived polioviruses in China from 1995 to 2019显示文摘A nation-wide case surveillance was conducted in China since 1995 for the objective of identifying acute flaccid paralysis(AFP)in children so that potential wild polioviruses and vaccine-derived poliovirus(VDPV)could be identified on time.Two outbreaks associated with type I circulating VDPVs,eight native independent type I ambiguous VDPVs(aVDPV),and one imported aVDPV were identified during the AFP case surveillance in China from 1995 to 2019.The VP1 coding region of the Chinese type I VDPVs differed from the polio vaccine strain by 1.00%–3.75%(9–34 substitutions in 906 nucleotides).Most of the Chinese type I VDPV strains shared 4 amino acid substitutions in the neutralizing antigenic(NAg)sites:3 located at the BC loop,which formed the NAg site 1,and another at NAg site 3a.All of the Chinese type I VDPVs identified during the AFP case surveillance were young VDPVs,which indicated a limited viral replication resulted from the administration of the initiating oral polio vaccine(OPV)dose.VDPVs can emerge and spread in isolated communities with immunity gaps and the circulation ceases following a mass immunization with OPV.As such,high-quality surveillance permitted very early detection and response and it played a key role in stalling the widespread circulation of the emergent cVDPV strains in China.Yong Zhang Shuangli Zhu Dongmei Yan Dongyan Wang Xiaolei Li Hui Zhu Hongqiu An Wenbo Xu 2019Biosafety and Health2019,1,3:2

14Identification of traits and genes associated with lodging resistance in maize显示文摘Lodging is a major problem limiting maize yield worldwide. However, the mechanisms of lodging resistance remain incompletely understood for maize. Here, we evaluated 443 maize accessions for lodging resistance in the field. Five lodging-resistant accessions and five lodging-sensitive accessions were selected for further research. The leaf number, plant height, stem diameter, and rind penetrometer resistance were similar between lodging-resistant and-sensitive inbred lines. The average thickness of sclerenchymatous hypodermis layer was thicker and the vascular area was larger in the lodging-resistant lines compared with lodging-sensitive lines. Although total lignin content in stem tissue did not significantly differ between lodging-resistant and-sensitive lines, phloroglucinol staining revealed that the lignin content of the cell wall in the stem cortex and in the stem vascular tissue near the cortex was higher in the lodging-resistant lines than in the lodging-sensitive lines. Analysis of strand-specific RNA-seq transcriptome showed that a total of 793 genes were up-regulated and 713 genes were down-regulated in lodging-resistant lines relative to lodging-sensitive lines. The up-regulated genes in lodging-resistant lines were enriched in cell wall biogenesis. 15A peptide chain release factor 2a gene regulates maize kernel development by modulating mitochondrial function显示文摘Mitochondrial protein translation that is essential for aerobic energy production includes four essential steps of the mitochondrial ribosome cycle,namely,initiation,elongation,termination of the polypeptide,and ribosome recycling.Translation termination initiates when a stop codon enters the A site of the mitochondrial ribosome where it is recognized by a dedicated peptide release factor(RF).However,RFs and mechanisms involved in translation in plant mitochondria,especially in monocotyledons,remain largely unknown.Here,we identified a crumpled kernel(crk5 allele)mutant,with significantly decreased kernel size,100-kernel weight,and an embryo-lethal phenotype.The Crk5 allele was isolated using map-based cloning and found to encode a mitochondrial localization RF2a.As it is an ortholog of Arabidopsis mitochondrial RF2a,we named the gene ZmmtRF2a.ZmmtRF2a is missing the 5th–7th exons in the crk5 resulting in deletion of domains containing motifs GGQ and SPF that are essential for release activity of RF,mitochondrial ribosome binding,and stop codon recognition.Western blot and qRT-PCR analyses indicate that the crk5 mutation results in abnormal mitochondrion structure and function.Intriguingly,we observed a feedback loop in the crk5 with up-regulated transcript levels detected for several mitochondrial ribosome and mitochondrial-related components,in particular mitochondrial complexes CI,CIV,and a ribosome assembly related PPR.Together,our data support a crucial role for ZmmtRF2a in regulation of mitochondrial structure and function in maize.Hui Zhang Yijian Feng Kunyang Song Guofang Li Jiao Jin Jingjing Gao Yongtian Qin Hongqiu Wang Jinpeng Cheng Zonghua Liu Jihua Tang Zhiyuan Fu 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,6:0
16GRP per capita and hospital characteristics associated with intravenous tissue plasminogen activator adherence rate:evidence from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance显示文摘Background Timely delivery of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator(IV-rt PA)is pivotal to eligible patients who had a stroke while achieving higher rates of IV-rt PA has been problematic.This paper focuses on investigating influential factors associated with the administration of IV-rt PA,primarily per capita gross regional product(GRP)and healthcare system factors.Methods The study included 980 hospitals in the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance where 158003 patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke received IV-rt PA between August 2015 and August 2019.The adherence rate to IV-rt PA within 4.5 hours time window in each hospital was the primary outcome.Influential factors were grouped into two categories:macroeconomic status and hospital characteristics.The outcome was analysed using multivariable linear regression.Results GRP per capita(β=2.37,p<0.001),hospital stroke centre certification(β=3.77,p<0.001),number of neurologists(β=0.12,p<0.001),existence of emergency services for neurological treatment(β=7.43,p=0.014),presence of emergency department(β=10.03,p=0.019)and cooperating with emergency centre(β=4.65,p=0.029)were significantly positively associated with the adherence rate to IV-rt PA.Conclusions Higher GRP per capita,affluent neurological personnel,well-equipped emergency services for neurological treatment and routine cooperation with the emergency centre were important for enhancing the adherence rate to IV-rt PA among patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke in China.Suxi Zheng Tian Jie Lyu Zixiao Li Hongqiu Gu Xin Yang Chunjuan Wang Hao Li Yong Jiang Haipeng Shen Yongjun Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3:0
17Body mass index and clinical outcomes in patients with intracerebral haemorrhage:results from the China Stroke Center Alliance显示文摘Background and aim Obesity paradox has aroused increasing concern in recent years.However,impact of obesity on outcomes in intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)remains unclear.This study aimed to evaluate association of body mass index(BMI)with in-hospital mortality,complications and discharge disposition in ICH.Methods Data were from 85705 ICH enrolled in the China Stroke Center Alliance study.Patients were divided into four groups:underweight,normal weight,overweight and obese according to Asian-Pacific criteria.The primary outcome was in-hospital mortality.The secondary outcomes included non-routine discharge disposition and in-hospital complications.Discharge to graded II or III hospital,community hospital or rehabilitation facilities was considered non-routine disposition.Multivariable logistic regression analysed association of BMI with outcomes.Results 82789 patients with ICH were included in the final analysis.Underweight(OR=2.057,95%CI 1.193 to 3.550)patients had higher odds of in-hospital mortality than those with normal weight after adjusting for covariates,but no significant difference was observed for patients who were overweight or obese.No significant association was found between BMI and non-disposition.Underweight was associated with increased odds of several complications,including pneumonia(OR 1.343,95%CI 1.138 to 1.584),poor swallow function(OR 1.351,95%CI 1.122 to 1.628)and urinary tract infection(OR 1.532,95%CI 1.064 to 2.204).Moreover,obese patients had higher odds of haematoma expansion(OR 1.326,95%CI 1.168 to 1.504),deep vein thrombosis(OR 1.506,95%CI 1.165 to 1.947)and gastrointestinal bleeding(OR 1.257,95%CI 1.027 to 1.539).Conclusions In patients with ICH,being underweight was associated with increased in-hospital mortality.Being underweight and obese can both increased risk of in-hospital complications compared with having normal weight.Zhentang Cao Xinmin Liu Zixiao Li Hongqiu Gu Yingyu Jiang Xingquan Zhao Yongjun Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3:0
18Epidemiological Analysis of Foodborne Botulism Outbreaks-China,2004-2020显示文摘Introduction:Foodborne botulism is a rare,potentially fatal illness resulting from the ingestion of foods contaminated with preformed botulinum neurotoxin types A,B,E,or F,produced by Clostridium botulinum.The descriptive epidemiology of foodborne botulism outbreaks in China during 2004−2020 was performed to inform public health response strategies.Methods:Data from 22 of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)of the National Foodborne Disease Outbreaks Surveillance System during 2004−2020 and Embase,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,and Chinese Science and Technique Journals(CQVIP)from January 2004 to December 2020 to identify indexed publications in the Chinese literature using the following search terms“botulism,”or“botulinum toxin,”or“Clostridium botulinum.”The number and proportion of outbreaks,illnesses,and deaths by PLAD,food types,and contributing factors were calculated.Results:During 2004−2020,a total of 80 foodborne botulism outbreaks occurred in China,involving 386 illnesses and 55 deaths;most outbreaks were reported between June and August,with a sharp peak in January;22 out of 31 PLADs reported foodborne botulism outbreaks,Xinjiang reported the largest number of outbreaks(20),followed by Qinghai(13);the most commonly implicated foods were homeprepared traditional processed stinky tofu and dried beef,accounting for 51.25%events.Improper processing and improper storage in contributing factors accounted for 77.50%outbreaks.Initial misdiagnosis occurred in 27.50%of cases.Conclusions:Outbreaks of foodborne botulism had a high case-fatality rate.Targeted food safety and popularization education to farmers and herdsmen in Xinjiang and Qinghai related to botulism prevention should be carried out,and timely outbreak investigation and hospital surge capacity should be improved.Hongqiu Li Yunchang Guo Tian Tian Wanhua Guo Changqing Liu Xiaocheng Liang Jikai Liu Weiwei Li Ping Fu 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,35:0
