1Multi-channel micro neural probe fabricated with SOI显示文摘Silicon-on-insulator(SOI) substrate is widely used in micro-electro-mechanical systems(MEMS).With the buried oxide layer of SOI acting as an etching stop,silicon based micro neural probe can be fabri-cated with improved uniformity and manufacturability.A seven-record-site neural probe was formed by inductive-coupled plasma(ICP) dry etching of an SOI substrate.The thickness of the probe is 15 μm.The shaft of the probe has dimensions of 3 mm×100 μm×15 μm with typical area of the record site of 78.5 μm2.The impedance of the record site was measured in-vitro.The typical impedance characteris-tics of the record sites are around 2 MΩ at 1 kHz.The performance of the neural probe in-vivo was tested on anesthetic rat.The recorded neural spike was typically around 140 μV.Spike from individual site could exceed 700 μV.The average signal noise ratio was 7 or more.PEI WeiHua ZHU Lin WANG ShuJing GUO Kai TANG Jun ZHANG Xu LU Lin GAO ShangKai CHEN HongDa 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,5:6
2Global and regional trends in incidence and mortality of female breast cancer and associated factors at national level in 2000 to 2019显示文摘Background: Female breast cancer (FBC) has become the most prevalent malignancy worldwide. We aimed to evaluate the global and regional burden in epidemiological trends and factors associated with the incidence and mortality of FBC.Methods: FBC incidence and mortality in 60 selected countries by cancer registry data integrity in 2020 were estimated from the GLOBOCAN database, and their association with the human development index (HDI) was further evaluated. Trends of age-standardized rates of incidence and mortality in 60 countries from 2000 through 2019 were evaluated by joinpoint regression analysis using data of Global Burden of Disease 2019. The association between potential behavioral, metabolic, and socioeconomic risk factor exposure at the nation level retrieved from the World Bank and Global Health Observatory and the incidence and mortality of FBC were evaluated by multivariate linear regression.Results: FBC incidence and mortality varied greatly in the 60 included countries. Higher incidence and mortality rates were typically observed in countries with higher HDIs and vice versa. During 2000 to 2019, significantly increasing trends in incidence and mortality were observed in 26 (average annual percent changes [AAPCs], 0.35-2.96) and nine countries (AAPC, 0.30-1.65), respectively, while significantly decreasing trends in both incidence and mortality were observed in 22 countries, most of which were high-HDI countries. Among the population aged ≥40 years, there were 26 and 11 countries showing significantly increased trends in incidence and mortality, respectively. Ecological analysis showed that countries with higher prevalence rates of high cholesterol and higher health expenditures were more likely to have higher FBC incidence, and countries with higher rates of obesity and poorer universal health coverage were more likely to have higher FBC mortality.Conclusions: Despite decreased or stabilized FBC incidence and mortality rates were observed in some countries with high HDI over the past decades, disease burden became even severer in developing countries, especially for the population aged ≥40 years. 3Comparative yield and efficiency of strategies based on risk assessment and fecal immunochemical test in colorectal cancer screening:A cross-sectional population-based analysis显示文摘Objective:Integration of risk stratification into fecal immunochemical test(FIT)might aid in the suboptimal detection of advanced neoplasms by FIT in colorectal cancer(CRC)screening.A comparative study was conducted to evaluate the participation and diagnostic yield of the parallel combination of questionnaire-based risk assessment(QRA)and FIT,FIT-only and QRA-only strategies in a CRC screening program in China.Methods:The study included 29,626 individuals aged 40-74 years and invited to participate in a CRC screening program in China.Participants were first invited to undertake QRA and one-time FIT(OC-sensor).Participants with positive QRA or FIT were deemed to be high-risk individuals who were recommended for subsequent colonoscopy.Participation,detection rate,and resource demand for colonoscopy were calculated and compared.Results:Of the 29,626 invitees,20,203 completed the parallel combination,8,592 completed the QRA-only,and11 completed the FIT-only strategy.For the parallel combination,FIT-only,and QRA-only strategies,the overall positivity rates were 10.2%(2,928/28,806),5.4%(1,096/20,214),and 6.8%(1,944/28,795),respectively;the yield of advanced neoplasm per 10,000 invitees were 46.9[95%confidence interval(95%CI):39.8-55.4],36.8(95%CI:30.5-44.4),and 12.2(95%CI:8.8-16.8),respectively;the positive predictive values for detecting advanced neoplasms among participants who completed colonoscopy were 4.7%(95%CI:4.0%-5.6%),9.9%(95%CI:8.3%-11.9%),and 1.9%(95%CI:1.3%-2.6%),respectively;the number of colonoscopies required to detect one advanced neoplasm was 11.4(95%CI:9.8-13.4),5.7(95%CI:4.8-6.7),and 28.4(95%CI:20.7-39.2),respectively.Conclusions:The parallel combination of QRA and FIT did not show superior efficacy for detecting advanced neoplasm compared with FIT alone in this CRC screening program.Hongda Chen Le Wang Ming Lu Chen Zhu Yunfeng Zhu Weihua Ma Xinmin Chen Lingbin Du Wanqing Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4:3

5Three-dimensional electrical resistivity structure beneath the Cuonadong dome in the Northern Himalayas revealed by magnetotelluric data and its implication显示文摘The North Himalayan gneiss domes(NHGD),as one of the extensional structures widely distributed across the southern Tibetan Plateau,are an important window for studying post-collisional diastrophism and magmation as well as polymetallic mineralization.However,the deep mechanism for the formation of NHGD remains controversial.The magnetotelluric(MT)method was adopted to study the deep structure of the Cuonadong dome in the Northern Himalayas.The characteristics of the dome were explored by using the MT sounding curves and phase tensors.Three-dimensional(3D)MT inversion was performed to determine the electrical resistivity structure beneath the Cuonadong dome.The preferred 3D electrical resistivity model shows that an obvious low-resistivity anomaly develops beneath the Cuonadong dome which is overlaid by a high-resistivity body and surrounded by an apparent subcircular zone of low-resistivity anomalies.The integrated conductivity(longitudinal conductance)from depths of 1-20 km indicates that the average longitudinal conductance at the core of the Cuonadong dome is about 10,000 S.The high-conductivity anomaly at the core is found to be analogous to that of lava,mainly resulting from the crustal partial melting,and the estimated melt content is 11.0-17.3%.The high conductance surrounding the dome reaches 20,000 S on average,which is mainly attributed to saline fluids.MT results in this study support that the Cuonadong dome experienced magmatic diapirism.Taken together with previous geological and geochemical studies,we suggest that under the east-west(E-W)extensional tectonic setting in southern Tibet,deep crustal partial melting constantly accumulated beneath the dome,and therefore the magmatic diapirism resulted in the formation of the Cuonadong dome.In addition,the MT results also indicate that the development of the Cuonadong dome provides abundant mineralizing fluids and the space for migration of metallogenic fluids for(rare-metal)polymetallic mineralization.Shuai XUE Zhanwu LU Wenhui LI Hongda LIANG Guangwen WANG Haiyan WANG Hongqiang LI Xin LI 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,8:1
6Advances in breast cancer screening modalities and status of global screening programs显示文摘Breast cancer(BC)is the most prevalent malignancy worldwide,and a continued upward trend has been predicted in the coming decades.Screening in selected targeted populations,which is effective in reducing cancer-related mortality,has been widely implemented in many countries.This review summarizes the advances in BC screening techniques,organized or opportunistic BC screening programs across different countries,and screening modalities recommended by different academic authorities.Mammography is the most widely used and effective technique for BC screening.Other complementary techniques include ultrasound,clinical breast examination,and magnetic resonance imaging.Novel screening tests,including digital breast tomosynthesis and liquid biopsies,are still under development.Globally,the implementation status of BC screening programs is uneven,which is reflected by differences in screening modes,techniques,and population coverage.The recommended optimal screening strategies varied according to the authoritative guidelines.The effectiveness of current screening programs is influenced by several factors,including low detection rate,high false-positive rate,and unsatisfactory coverage and uptake rates.Exploration of accurate BC risk prediction models and the development of risk-stratified screening strategies are highly warranted in future research.Chenyu Luo Le Wang Yuhan Zhang Ming Lu Bin Lu Jie Cai Hongda Chen Min Dai 2022Chronic Diseases and Translational Medicine2022,8,2:1

9Optimization of Sound Absorption and Insulation Performances of a Dual-Cavity Resonant Micro-Perforated Plate显示文摘This study investigates a dual-cavity resonant composite sound-absorbing structure based on a micro-perforated plate.Using the COMSOL impedance tube model,the effects of various structural parameters on sound absorption and sound insulation performances are analyzed.Results show that the aperture of the micro-perforated plate has the greatest influence on the sound absorption coefficient;the smaller the aperture,the greater is this coefficient.The thickness of the resonance plate has the most significant influence on the sound insulation and resonance frequency;the greater the thickness,the wider the frequency domain in which sound insulation is obtained.In addition,the effect of filling the structural cavity with porous foam ceramics has been studied,and it has been found that the porosity and thickness of the porous material have a significant effect on the sound absorption coefficient and sound insulation,while the pore size exhibits a limited influence.Wei Chen Zhaofeng Guo Hongda Feng Sheng Hu Ling Lu Chuanmin Chen Xiaowen Wu Hao Cao 2022Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2022,18,2:1
10Geology and development of geothermal field in Neogene Guantao Formation in northern Bohai Bay Basin: A case of the Caofeidian geothermal heating project in Tangshan, China显示文摘Taking the Gaoshangpu-Liuzan geothermal field in the Nanpu sag of the Bohai Bay Basin as the research object, this paper discusses the geological conditions and potential of the geothermal resources of the Guantao Formation in the study area, and introduces the development practice of geothermal energy heating in Caofeidian. The average buried depth of the Guantao Formation is 1500–2500 m, the lithology is dominated by sandy conglomerate, and the average thickness of thermal reservoir is 120–300 m. The average porosity of thermal reservoir is 28%–35%, the permeability is(600–2000)×10^(-3) μm^(2), and the temperature of thermal reservoir is 70–110 ℃. The formation has total geothermal resources of 13.79×10^(18) J, equivalent to 4.70×10^(8) t of standard coal. Based on a large amount of seismic and drilling data from oil and gas exploration, this study carried out high quality target area selection, simulation of sandstone thermal reservoir, and production and injection in the same layer. The geothermal heating project with distributed production and injection well pattern covering an area of 230×10^(4) m^(2) was completed in the new district of Caofeidian in 2018. The project has been running steadily for two heating seasons, with an average annual saving of 6.06×10^(4) t of standard coal and a reduction of 15.87×10^(4) t of carbon dioxide, achieving good economic and social benefits. This project has proved that the Neogene sandstone geothermal reservoir in eastern China can achieve sustainable large-scale development by using the technology of 'balanced production and injection in the same layer'. 11Effect of fabrication temperature on the manufacturability of lateral ZnO nanowire array UV sensor显示文摘Fabrication temperature is an important factor affecting the manufacturability of electronic devices,especially for the bottom-up self-assembled nano-device.In this study,we used a lateral-bridged zinc oxide(ZnO)nanowire array UV sensor as a model to investigate the influence of temperature on device performance over the entire manufacturing process,from sensor fabrication to packaging.We found that annealing of the SiO2 substrate would make ZnO seed layer on top of it more compact and uniform,and hence improve the lateral orientation and uniformity of ZnO nanowires grown from the seed layer.With the annealed substrate,the light-to-dark current ratio increased by two orders of magnitude.On the contrary,annealing the ZnO seed layer would deteriorate the light-to-dark current ratio of the sensor,because annealing caused most of the grains in the seed layer to become vertically aligned,which in turn affected the lateral growth of ZnO nanowire arrays.During the packaging process,the surface structure of ZnO nanowires would change if the chip welded at a temperature of 230℃for 2 min,resulting in a decrease of light-to-dark current ratio by three orders of magnitude.ZHAO LiHuan GAO ZhiYuan ZHANG Jie LU LiWei LI HongDa 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,4:1
12Colorectal Cancer Screening in China:Status,Challenges,and Prospects——China,2022显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC)ranks third among the most commonly diagnosed cancers in China.Despite proof that screening can decrease CRC incidence and mortality,there are still gaps remaining between CRC screening objectives and reality in China.In this review,we provided an overview of the status of CRC screening in China.First,we summarized the current CRC screening programs and strategies in China.Second,we reviewed the authoritative CRC screening and early detection guidelines in China to orient future evidence-based guideline development.Finally,we identified current challenges and further provided some suggestions to improve the implementation of CRC screening programs.To maximize the effectiveness of CRC screening,further research on risk prediction models including polygenic risk scores and prior screening outcomes,novel biomarkers and artificial intelligence,and personalized screening strategies are recommended.Both cohort study and microsimulation techniques are recommended for long-term evaluations of the effectiveness of CRC screening strategies.Hongda Chen Bin Lu Min Dai 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,15:1
13Photonic crystal vertical-cavity surface-emitting laserbased on GaAs material显示文摘A photonic crystal vertical-cavity-surface-emitting laser (PC-VCSEL) with a wavelength of about 850 nm was realized. The direct-current electrically-driven PC-VCSELs with a minimum threshold current of 2 mA and a maximum threshold current of 13.5 mA were obtained. 15Role of inflammatory gene variants in Helicobacter pylori-related gastric cancer显示文摘Helicobacter pylori-related gastric cancer results from a chronic inflammatory process that arises from atrophic gastritis, and develops into intestinal metaplasia, hyperplasia, and eventually gastric adenocarcinoma. Although approximately half of the world's population is infected with Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori), less than 3% of these infected individuals develop gastric cancer. H. pylori infection can cause both acute and chronic inflammation, and may be present for decades within its host. Inflammatory gene variants are particularly important factors that may influence a host's susceptibility to H. pylori-related gastric cancer. The inflammatory gene variants uncovered thus far include interleukin gene clusters, tumor necrosis factor-α, Toll-like receptors(TLRs), and inflammatory gene polymorphisms found in genome-wide association studies(GWAS). 16Variable stiffness wires based on magnetorheological liquid metals显示文摘Magnetorheological fluid(MRF)has shown its great potential in the development of large mechanical devices,such as dampers,shock absorbers,rotary brakes,clutches,and prosthetic joints.Recently,more research focus has been invested on using MRF to develop soft,stretchable,and miniaturized devices with variable stiffness for realizing functionalities that cannot be achieved using solid smart materials.Here,based on liquid metal magnetoactive slurries(LMMS),a variable stiffness wire with excellent electrical conductivity is demonstrated.Without exposure to a magnetic field,the LMMS wire has an extremely low stiffness,and can be easily stretched while maintaining an excellent electrical conductivity.When applying a magnetic field,the wire becomes much stiffer and can retain its shape even under a load.The combination of properties of flexibility,high electrical conductivity,and variable stiffness of the wire is harnessed to make a flexible gripper that can grasp objects of various shapes.Moreover,by using gallium instead of its liquid metal alloys,the tunable stiffness range of the LMMS wire is signifi-cantly enhanced and can be controlled using both external magnetic fields and temperature-induced phase change.The presented LMMS wire has the potential to be applied in flexible electronics,soft robotics and so on.Xiangbo Zhou Jian Shu Hu Jin Hongtai Ren Gang Ma Ning Gong Duan Ge Juan Shi Shi-Yang Tang Guolin Yun Hongda Lu Shuai Dong Xiangpeng Li Shiwu Zhang Weihua Li 2022International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,2:0
