1Cell sheet formation enhances the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on myocardial infarction as a bioactive material显示文摘Stem cell-based therapy has been used to treat ischaemic heart diseases for two decades.However,optimal cell types and transplantation methods remain unclear.This study evaluated the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell(hUCMSC)sheet on myocardial infarction(MI).Methods:hUCMSCs expressing luciferase were generated by lentiviral transduction for in vivo bio-luminescent imaging tracking of cells.We applied a temperature-responsive cell culture surface-based method to form the hUCMSC sheet.Cell retention was evaluated using an in vivo bio-luminescent imaging tracking system.Unbiased transcriptional profiling of infarcted hearts and further immunohistochemical assessment of monocyte and macrophage subtypes were used to determine the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of the hUCMSC sheet.Echocardiography and pathological analyses of heart sections were performed to evaluate cardiac function,angiogenesis and left ventricular remodelling.Results:When transplanted to the infarcted mouse hearts,hUCMSC sheet significantly improved the retention and survival compared with cell suspension.At the early stage of MI,hUCMSC sheet modulated inflammation by decreasing Mcp1-positive monocytes and CD68-positive macrophages and increasing Cx3cr1-positive non-classical macrophages,preserving the cardiomyocytes from acute injury.Moreover,the extracellular matrix produced by hUCMSC sheet then served as bioactive scaffold for the host cells to graft and generate new epicardial tissue,providing mechanical support and routes for revascularsation.These effects of hUCMSC sheet treatment significantly improved the cardiac function at days 7 and 28 post-MI.Conclusions:hUCMSC sheet formation dramatically improved the biological functions of hUCMSCs,mitigating adverse post-MI remodelling by modulating the inflammatory response and providing bioactive scaffold upon transplantation into the heart.Translational perspective:Due to its excellent availability as well as superior local cellular retention and survival,allogenic transplantation of hUCMSC sheets can more effectively acquire the biological functions of hUCMSCs,such as modulating inflammation and enhancing angiogenesis.Moreover,the hUCMSC sheet method allows the transfer of an intact extracellular matrix without introducing exogenous or synthetic biomaterial,further improving its clinical applicability.Rui Guo Feng Wan Masatoshi Morimatsu Qing Xu Tian Feng Hang Yang Yichen Gong Shuhong Ma Yun Chang Siyao Zhang Youxu Jiang Heqing Wang Dehua Chang Hongjia Zhang Yunpeng Ling Feng Lan 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:6
2Geochemical baseline determination and contamination of heavy metals in the urban topsoil of Fuxin City,China显示文摘Urban topsoil is the most frequent interface between human society and natural environment.The accumulation of heavy metals in the urban topsoil has a direct effect on residents'life and health.The geochemical baseline of heavy metals is an objective description of the general level of heavy metals in the urban topsoil.Meanwhile,the determination of geochemical baseline is necessary for regional environmental management,especially in coal cities prone to heavy metal pollution.Heavy metal pollution has become an environmental problem in Fuxin City,China for a long time.To establish the geochemical baseline of heavy metals in the topsoil of Fuxin City and to evaluate the ecological risk of the topsoil,we collected 75 topsoil samples(0–20 cm)and analyzed the concentrations of Cu,Ni,Zn,Pb,Cr,Cd,Hg and As through X-ray fluorescence spectrometry,atomic absorption spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry.We determined the geochemical baseline of heavy metals in the topsoil of Fuxin City by using iteration removal,box-whisker plot,cumulative frequency curve and reference metal normalization;evaluated the contamination risk and ecological risk of the topsoil by using the baseline factor index,Nemerow index and Hakanson potential ecological risk index;and identified the source category of heavy metals in the topsoil by using a pedigree clustering heatmap.Results showed that the geochemical baseline values were 42.86,89.34,92.23,60.55,145.21,0.09,0.08 and 4.17 mg/kg for Cu,Ni,Zn,Pb,Cr,Cd,Hg and As,respectively.The results of Nemerow index and Hakanson potential ecological risk index indicated that the urban topsoil in the study area was slightly contaminated and suffering low potential ecological risk.The main contaminated areas dominated in the middle part and northeast part of the study area,especially in the western Haizhou Strip Mine.The result of baseline factor index indicated that Hg and Cd were the major pollution elements.Using a pedigree clustering heatmap,we divided the sources of these heavy metals into three types:type I for Ni and Cr,largely represented the enrichment of heavy metals from natural sources;type II for Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd and As,mainly represented the enrichment of heavy metals from anthropogenic sources;and type III for Hg,represented the form of both natural and anthropogenic inputs.ZHANG Hua YU Miao XU Hongjia WEN Huan FAN Haiyan WANG Tianyi LIU Jiangang 2020Journal of Arid Land2020,12,6:5

4Meltblown fabric vs nanofiber membrane, which is better for fabricating personal protective equipments显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has led to a great demand on the personal protection products such as reusable masks.As a key raw material for masks,meltblown fabrics play an important role in rejection of aerosols.However,the electrostatic dominated aerosol rejection mechanism of meltblown fabrics prevents the mask from maintaining the desired protective effect after the static charge degradation.Herein,novel reusable masks with high aerosols rejection efficiency were fabricated by the introduction of spider-web bionic nanofiber membrane(nano cobweb-biomimetic membrane).The reuse stability of meltblown and nanofiber membrane mask was separately evaluated by infiltrating water,75%alcohol solution,and exposing under ultraviolet(UV)light.After the water immersion test,the filtration efficiency of meltblown mask was decreased to about 79%,while the nanofiber membrane was maintained at 99%.The same phenomenon could be observed after the 75%alcohol treatment,a high filtration efficiency of 99%was maintained in nanofiber membrane,but obvious negative effect was observed in meltblown mask,which decreased to about 50%.In addition,after long-term expose under UV light,no filtration efficiency decrease was observed in nanofiber membrane,which provide a suitable way to disinfect the potential carried virus.This work successfully achieved the daily disinfection and reuse of masks,which effectively alleviate the shortage of masks during this special period.Junwei Wu Hongjia Zhou Jingyi Zhou Xiao Zhu Bowen Zhang Shasha Feng Zhaoxiang Zhong Lingxue Kong Weihong Xing 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,8:4
5A vacuum ultraviolet laser with a submicrometer spot for spatially resolved photoemission spectroscopy显示文摘Vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)lasers have demonstrated great potential as the light source for various spectroscopies,which,if they can be focused into a small beam spot,will not only allow investigation of mesoscopic materials and structures but also find application in the manufacture of nano-objects with excellent precision.In this work,we report the construction of a 177 nm VUV laser that can achieve a record-small(〜0.76 μm)focal spot at a long focal length(~45 mm)by using a flat lens without spherical aberration.The size of the beam spot of this VUV laser was tested using a metal grating and exfoliated graphene flakes,and we demonstrated its application in a fluorescence spectroscopy study on pure and Tm3+-doped NaYF4 microcrystals,revealing a new emission band that cannot be observed in the traditional up-conversion process.In addition,this laser system would be an ideal light source for spatially and angleresolved photoemission spectroscopy.Yuanhao Mao Dong Zhao Shen Yan Hongjia Zhang Juan Li Kai Han Xiaojun Xu Chuan Guo Lexian Yang Chaofan Zhang Kun Huang Yulin Chen 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,3:3

7Membrane enhanced COD degradation of pulp wastewater using Cu_2O/H_2O_2 heterogeneous Fenton process显示文摘Both activity and stability of the catalyst can be improved in heterogeneous Fenton reaction,in particular,with no limitation for the working p H and no production of the sludge.In this work,a combination of catalyst Cu_2O and pore-channel-dispersed H_2O_2is proposed to treat the pulp wastewater.Degradation degree of CODs in the wastewater was up to 77%in the ceramic membrane reactor using Cu_2O powder(2.0 g·L^(-1))and membranefeeding H_2O_2(0.8 ml·L^(-1))within 60 min.Evolution of·OH radical formation in the advanced oxidation process was analyzed with a fluorescent method.Utilization efficiency of H_2O_2was successfully enhanced by 10%with the membrane distributor.Further on,the catalyst recyclability was evaluated in a five-cycle test.The concentration of copper ions being dissolved in the treated water was monitored with ICP.After Cu_2O/H_2O_2(membrane)treatment the effluent is qualified to discharge with COD concentration lower than 15 mg·L^(-1)with regard to the national standard GB25467-2010.Hongjia Zhou Lin Kang Ming Zhou Zhaoxiang Zhong Weihong Xing 2018Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,9:3

9Validation of a simple automated movement detection system for tormalin test in rats显示文摘Aim: To investigate the validity and sensitivity of an automatic movement detection system developed by our laboratory for the formalin test in rats. Methods:The effects of systemic morphine and local anesthetic lidocaine on the nociceptive behaviors induced by formalin subcutaneously injected into the hindpaw were examined by using an automated movement detection system and manual measuring methods. Results: Formalin subcutaneously injected into the hindpaw produced typical biphasic nociceptive behaviors (agitation). The mean agitation event rate during a 60-min observation period increased linearly following increases in the formalin concentration (0.0%, 0.5%, 1.5%, 2.5%, and 5%, 50 μL). Systemic application of morphine of different doses (1, 2, and 5 mg/kg) 10-min prior to formalin injection depressed the agitation responses induced by formalin injection in a dose-dependent manner, and the antinociceptive effect induced by the largest dose (5 mg/kg) of morphine was significantly antagonized by systemic application of the opioid receptor antagonist naloxone (1.25 mg/kg). Local anesthetic lidocaine (20 mg/kg) injected into the ipsilateral ankle subskin 5-min prior to formalin completely blocked the agitation response to formalin injection. These results were comparable to those obtained from manual measure of the incidence of flinching or the duration time of licking/biting of the injected paw. 10Efficient construction of provably secure steganography under ordinary covert channels显示文摘Steganography is the science of hiding information within seemingly harmless messages or innocent media.This paper addresses the problems of efficient construction of secure steganography in ordinary covert channels.Without relying on any sampling assumption,we provide a general construction of secure steganography under computational indistinguishability.Our results show that unpredictability of mapping function in covertext sampler is indispensable for secure stegosystem on indistinguishability against adaptive chosen hiddentext attacks.We completely prove that computationally secure steganography can be constructed on pseudorandom function and unbiased sampling function under ordinary covert channels,that is,its security is inversely proportional to the sum of errors of these two functions,as well as the legth of hiddentexts.More importantly,our research is not dependent upon pseudorandom ciphertext assumption of cryptosystem or perfect sampling assumption.Hence,our results are practically useful for construction and analysis of secure stegosystems.ZHU Yan YU MengYang HU HongXin AHN Gail-Joon ZHAO HongJia 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,7:2
11Studies on the Relationship between Neuroendocrine Cellular Differentiation in Gastric Cancers and Post-operative Survival Time显示文摘OBJECTIVE To examine the ultrastructure of gastric cancer cel s by the electron microscope,in order to assess the relationship between neuroendocrine differentiation and post-operative survival time. METHODS NSE,Syn and CgA immunohistochemical labeling was conducted in 168 cases with a common-type of gastric cancer.Electron microscopy was performed in 80 cases with positive immunohistochemical labeling. These cases were fol owed-up for over 5 years and the post-operative survival data analyzed. RESULTS Neuroendocrine granules were found by electron microscopy in 39 cases.The rate of neuroendocrine differentiation found was 23% (39/168),using routine diagnostic criteria and electron microscopy(REM). The post-operative survival time of gastric cancer patients with neuroendocrine differentiation was significantly shorter(P=0.0032)compared to those without neuroendocrine differentiation. 14Intellectual property protection for deep semantic segmentation models显示文摘Deep neural networks have achieved great success in varieties of artificial intelligent fields. Since training a good deep model is often challenging and costly, such deep models are of great value and even the key commercial intellectual properties. Recently, deep model intellectual property protection has drawn great attention from both academia and industry, and numerous works have been proposed. However, most of them focus on the classification task. In this paper, we present the first attempt at protecting deep semantic segmentation models from potential infringements. In details, we design a new hybrid intellectual property protection framework by combining the trigger-set based and passport based watermarking simultaneously. Within it, the trigger-set based watermarking mechanism aims to force the network output copyright watermarks for a pre-defined trigger image set, which enables black-box remote ownership verification. And the passport based watermarking mechanism is to eliminate the ambiguity attack risk of trigger-set based watermarking by adding an extra passport layer into the target model.
