| 1 | Zircon U-Pb age and Hf isotope of Quanyishang A-type granite in Yichang: Signification for the Yangtze continental cratonization in Paleoproterozoic显示文摘Zircon U-Pb age and Hf isotope, and major and trace element compositions were reported for granite at Quanyishang, which intruded into the Kongling complex in Yichang, Hubei Province. The results show that the Quanyishang granite is rich in silicon and alkalis but poor in calcium and magnesium, and displays enrichment in Ga, Y, Zr, Nb but depletion in Sr and Ba, exhibiting the post-orogenic A-type affinity. 90% zircons from the granite are concordant, and give a middle Paleoproterozoic magmatic crystallization age (mean 1854 Ma). Initial Hf isotope ratios (176Hf/177Hf)i of the middle Paleoproterozoic zircons range from 0.280863 to 0.281134 and they have negative εHf(t) values with a minimum of -26.3. These zircons give the depleted mantle model ages (TDM) of 2.9―3.3 Ga (mean 3.0 Ga), and the average crustal model ages (Tcrust) of 3.6―4.2 Ga (mean 3.8 Ga). A Mesoarchean grain with 207Pb/206Pb age of 2859 Ma has a slightly high TDM (3.4 Ga) but similar Tcrust (3.8 Ga) to the Paleoproterozoic zircons. All these data suggest that the source materials of the Quanyishang A-type granite are unusually old, at least ≥2.9 Ga (even Eoarchean). The event of crustal remelting, which resulted in the formation of the Quanyishang granite in the middle Paleoproterozoic, recorded the cratonization of the Yangtze conti- nent. | 2 | Apoptosis and Proinflammatory Cytokine Responses of Primary Mouse Microglia and Astrocytes Induced by Human H1N1 and Avian H5N1 Influenza Viruses显示文摘Patients with an influenza virus infection can be complicated by acute encephalopathy and encephalitis. To investigate the immune reactions involved in the neurocomplication,mouse microglia and astrocytes were isolated,infected with human H1N1 and avian H5N1 influenza viruses,and examined for their immune responses. We observed homogeneously distributed viral receptors,sialic acid (SA)-α2,3-Galactose (Gal) and SA-α2,6-Gal,on microglia and astrocytes. Both viruses were replicative and productive in microglia and astrocytes. Virus-induced apoptosis and cytopathy in infected cells were observed at 24 h post-infection (p.i.). Expression of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA examined at 6 h and 24 h p.i. was up-regulated,and their expression levels were considerably higher in H5N1 infection. The amounts of secreted proinflammatory IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α at 6 h and 24 h p.i. were also induced,with greater induction by H5N1 infection. This study is the first demonstration that both human H1N1 and avian H5N1 influenza viruses can infect mouse microglia and astrocytes and induce apoptosis,cytopathy,and proinflammatory cytokine production in them in vitro. | 3 | MicroTom Metabolic Network: Rewiring Tomato Metabolic Regulatory Network throughout the Growth Cycle显示文摘Tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)is a major horticultural crop worldwide and has emerged as a preeminent model for metabolic research.Although many research efforts have focused on the analysis of metabolite differences between varieties and species,the dynamics of metabolic changes during the tomato growth cycle and the regulatory networks that underlie these changes are poorly understood.In this study,we integrated high-resolution spatio-temporal metabolome and transcriptome data to systematically explore the metabolic landscape across 20 major tomato tissues and growth stages.In the resulting MicroTom Metabolic Network,the 540 detected metabolites and their co-expressed genes could be divided into 10 distinct clusters based on their biological functions.Using this dataset,we constructed a global map of the major metabolic changes that occur throughout the tomato growth cycle and dissected the underlying regulatory network.In addition to verifying previously well-established regulatory networks for important metabolites,we identified novel transcription factors that regulate the biosynthesis of important secondary metabolites such as steroidal glycoalkaloids and flavonoids.Our findings provide insights into spatiotemporal changes in tomato metabolism and generate a valuable resource for the study of metabolic regulatory processes in model plants. | Yan Li Yang Chen Lu Zhou Shengjie You Heng Deng Ya Chen Saleh Alseekh Yong Yuan Rao Fu Zixin Zhang Dan Su Alisdair R.Fernie Mondher Bouzayen Tao Ma Mingchun Liu Yang Zhang | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,8: | 10 |
| 4 | Systematic review of the outcomes of surgical resection for intermediate and advanced Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage hepatocellular carcinoma:A critical appraisal of the evidence显示文摘AIM To perform a systematic review to determine the survival outcomes after curative resection of intermediate and advanced hepatocellular carcinomas(HCC).METHODS A systematic review of the published literature was performed using the PubM ed database from 1 st January 1999 to 31 st Dec 2014 to identify studies that reported outcomes of liver resection as the primary curative treatment for Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) stage B or C HCC. The primary end point was to determine the overall survival(OS) and disease free survival(DFS) of liver resection of HCC in BCLC stage B or C in patients with adequate liver reserve(i.e., Child's A or B status). The secondary end points were to assess the morbidity and mortality of liver resection in large HCC(defined as lesions larger than 10 cm in diameter) and to compare the OS and DFS after surgical resection of solitary vs multifocal HCC.RESULTS We identified 74 articles which met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in this systematic review. Analysis of the resection outcomes of the included studies were grouped according to(1) BCLC stage B or C HCC,(2) Size of HCC and(3) multifocal tumors. The median 5-year OS of BCLC stage B was 38.7%(range 10.0-57.0); while the median 5-year OS of BCLC stage C was 20.0%(range 0.0-42.0). The collective median 5-year OS of both stages was 27.9%(0.0-57.0). In examining the morbidity and mortality following liver resection in large HCC, the pooled RR for morbidity [RR(95%CI) = 1.00(0.76-1.31)] and mortality [RR(95%CI) = 1.15(0.73-1.80)] were not significant. Within the spectrum of BCLC B and C lesions, tumors greater than 10 cm were reported to have median 5-year OS of 33.0% and multifocal lesions 54.0%.CONCLUSION Indication for surgical resection should be extended to BCLC stage B lesions in selected patients. It is shown that the e-N method can still yield fairly satisfactory results incomparison with those obtained in wind tunnel experiments, provided that the boundary layer receptivity to slow acousticwaves is properly taken into account, including the dependence of the amplitude of disturbances on the frequency andstream-wise location. | 7 | Prevalence of upper gastrointestinal bleeding risk factors among the general population and osteoarthritis patients显示文摘AIM To assess the prevalence of possible risk factors of upper gastrointestinal bleeding(UGIB) and their agegroup specific trend among the general population and osteoarthritis patients.METHODS We utilized data from the National Health InsuranceService that included claims data and results of the national health check-up program. Comorbid conditions(peptic ulcer, diabetes, liver disease, chronic renal failure, and gastroesophageal reflux disease), concomitant drugs(aspirin, clopidogrel, cilostazol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroid, anticoagulants, and SSRI), personal habits(smoking, and alcohol consumption) were considered as possible UGIB risk factors. We randomly imputed the prevalence of infection in the data considering the age-specific prevalence of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection in Korea. The prevalence of various UGIB risk factors and the age-group specific trend of the prevalence were identified. Prevalence was compared between osteoarthritis patients and others.RESULTS A total of 801926 subjects(93855 osteoarthritis patients) aged 20 and above were included. The prevalence of individual and concurrent multiple risk factors became higher as the age increased. The prevalence of each comorbid condition and concomitant drug were higher in osteoarthritis patients. Thirty-five point zero two percent of the overall population and 68.50% of osteoarthritis patients had at least one or more risk factors of UGIB. The prevalence of individual and concurrent multiple risk factors in younger age groups were also substantial. Furthermore, when personal habits(smoking, and alcohol consumption) and H. pylori infection were included, the prevalence of concurrent multiple risk factors increased greatly even in younger age groups.CONCLUSION Prevalence of UGIB risk factors was high in elderly population, but was also considerable in younger population. Patient with osteoarthritis was at higher UGIB risk than those without osteoarthritis. | 8 | Spatio-temporal variation in rock exhumation linked to large-scale shear zones in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Crustal-scale shear zones are believed to have played an important role in the tectonic and landscape evolution of orogens. However, the variation of long-term rock exhumation between the interior of shear zones and adjacent regions has not been documented in detail. In this study, we obtained new zircon U-Pb, biotite ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar, zircon and apatite(U-Th)/He data, and conducted inverse thermal history modeling from two age-elevation profiles(the Pianma and Tu'er profiles) in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau. Our goal is to constrain the exhumation history of the Gaoligong and Chongshan shear zones and adjacent regions, so as to explore the effect of the shear zones on exhumation and their thermal effect on cooling that should not be ignored. Our results suggest that during the interval of 18–11 Ma the exhumation rates of rocks within the Gaoligong shear zone are anomalously high compared with those outside of. The rapid cooling during 18–11 Ma appears to be restricted to the shear zone, likely due to localized thermal effects of shearing and exhumation. After 11 Ma, both the areas within and outside of the shear zones experienced a similar two-stage exhumation history: slower cooling until the early Pliocene, and then a rapid increase in cooling rate since the early Pliocene. Our results indicate a synchronized exhumation but with spatially varied exhumation rates. | 9 | Chip formation dependence of machining velocities in nano-scale by molecular dynamics simulations显示文摘In this study, molecular dynamics simulations were carried out to study the effect of machining velocities on the mechanism of chip formation in nano-metric copper. A wide range of cutting velocities was performed from 10 to 2000 m/s, and the microstructure's evolution from a crystalline state to an amorphous state was studied. At the low machining velocity, dislocations were generated from the surface in front of the tool, and the immobile dislocation deduced by the cross slip of dislocation was observed. At the high machining velocity, no crystal dislocation nucleated, but instead disorder atoms were found near the tool. | 12 | Recognition of moyamoya disease and its hemorrhagic risk using deep learning algorithms:sourced from retrospective studies显示文摘Although intracranial hemorrhage in moyamoya disease can occur repeatedly,predicting the disease is difficult.Deep learning algorithms developed in recent years provide a new angle for identifying hidden risk factors,evaluating the weight of different factors,and quantitatively evaluating the risk of intracranial hemorrhage in moyamoya disease.To investigate whether convolutional neural network algorithms can be used to recognize moyamoya disease and predict hemorrhagic episodes,we retrospectively selected 460 adult unilateral hemispheres with moyamoya vasculopathy as positive samples for diagnosis modeling,including 418 hemispheres with moyamoya disease and 42 hemispheres with moyamoya syndromes.Another 500 hemispheres with normal vessel appearance were selected as negative samples.We used deep residual neural network(ResNet-152)algorithms to extract features from raw data obtained from digital subtraction angiography of the internal carotid artery,then trained and validated the model.The accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity of the model in identifying unilateral moyamoya vasculopathy were 97.64±0.87%,96.55±3.44%,and 98.29±0.98%,respectively.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.990.We used a combined multi-view conventional neural network algorithm to integrate age,sex,and hemorrhagic factors with features of the digital subtraction angiography.The accuracy of the model in predicting unilateral hemorrhagic risk was 90.69±1.58%and the sensitivity and specificity were 94.12±2.75%and 89.86±3.64%,respectively.The deep learning algorithms we proposed were valuable and might assist in the automatic diagnosis of moyamoya disease and timely recognition of the risk for re-hemorrhage.This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Huashan Hospital,Fudan University,China(approved No.2014-278)on January 12,2015. | Yu Lei Xin Zhang Wei Ni Heng Yang Jia-Bin Su Bin Xu Liang Chen Jin-Hua Yu Yu-Xiang Gu Ying Mao | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,5: | 3 |
| 13 | Personalized neoantigen pulsed dendritic cell vaccine for advanced lung cancer显示文摘Neoantigens are considered to be ultimate target of tumor immunotherapy due to their high tumor specificity and immunogenicity.Dendritic cell(DCs)vaccines based on neoantigens have exciting effects in treatment of some malignant tumors and are a promising therapeutic modality.Lung cancer is a lethal disease with the highest morbidity and mortality rate in the world.Despite the rapid development of targeted therapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors for lung cancer in recent years,their efficacy is still unsatisfactory overall.Therefore,there is an urgent unmet clinical need for lung cancer treatment.Here,we attempted to treat lung cancer using a personalized neoantigen peptide-pulsed autologous DC vaccine and conducted a single-arm,2 medical centers,pilot study initiated by the investigator(ChiCTR-ONC 16009100,NCT02956551).The patients enrolled were patients with heavily treated metastatic lung cancer.Candidate neoantigens were derived from whole-exome sequencing and RNA sequencing of fresh biopsy tissues as well as bioinformatics analysis.A total of 12 patients were enrolled in this study.A total of 85 vaccine treatments were administered with a median value of 5 doses/person(range:3-14 doses/person).In total,12-30 peptide-based neoantigens were selected for each patient.AIl treatment-related adverse events were grade 1-2 and there were no delays in dosing due to toxic effects.The objective effectiveness rate was 25%;the disease control rate was 75%;the median progression-free survival was 5.5 months and the median overall survival was 7.9 months.This study provides new evidence for neoantigen vaccine therapy and new therapeutic opportunities for lung cancer treatment. | Zhenyu Ding Qing Li Rui Zhang Li Xie Yang shu Song Gao Peipei Wang Xiaoqing Su Yun Qin Yuelan Wang Juemin Fang Zhongzheng Zhu Xuyang Xia Guochao Wei Hui Wang Hong Qian Xianling Guo Zhibo Gao Yu Wang Yuquan Wei Qing Xu Heng Xu Li Yang | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,2: | 3 |

| 15 | Sn_(4)P_(3)-induced crystalline/amorphous composite structures for enhanced sodium-ion battery anodes显示文摘The optimization of anode materials such as Sn,P and Sn4P3 in terms of capacity and cyclability is crucial to improve the overall performance of sodium-ion batteries.However,the delicate fabrication of these materials,including the balanced crystalline/amorphous domains,reasonable particle size and distribution,complementary components exhibiting synergetic reactions,among others,still greatly retards the realization of maximum performance.Herein,a series of Sn/P-based composite materials with a plum pudding configuration were fabricated to achieve controlled crystalline/amorphous structures as well as optimized size and distribution in a carbon framework.By using a facile and low-cost ball milling method,the structural transformation of Sn4P3 into phase-separated crystalline Sn and amorphous P in a carbonaceous framework can be finely controlled,producing a series of binary(Sn4 P3/C),quaternary(Sn4P3/Sn/P/C) and ternary(Sn/P/C) composites.Due to the complementary components,crystalline/amorphous adjustment,crystallite sizes and well-integrated interfaces,the quaternary Sn4P3/Sn/P/C composite showed the best electrochemical performance,with a noticeable long-cycle performance of 382 mA hg-1 and 86% capacity retention for nearly 300 cycles.Different from binary and ternary composites,the discharge of quaternary composite generates no noticeable signals of Na15Sn4 and Na3 P in the ex-situ X-ray diffraction patterns,suggesting the crystallite growth of sodiation products can be depressed.Moreover,Sn4 P3 in the quaternary composite can be partially regenerated in the desodiation reaction,implying the significant short-range interaction and thus better synergetic reactions between Sn and P components.The results demonstrate that the design and organization of crystalline/amorphous structures can serve as an efficient strategy to develop novel electrode materials for sodium ion batteries. | Jaffer Saddique Xu Zhang Tianhao Wu Heng Su Shiqi Liu Dian Zhang Yuefei Zhang Haijun Yu | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,20: | 3 |

| 18 | The variation of transition location in response to the variation of the amplitudes of initial disturbances显示文摘The transition location of a boundary layer depends on the amplitude and characteristic of initial disturbances. The larger the amplitude and the amplification rate of the initial disturbances are,the more upstream the transition location is. However,the environment surrounding the flying vehicle is variable,so the amplitude and characteristic of the disturbances triggered in the boundary layer through receptivity are also variable. In this paper,how the transition location varies in response to the variation of the initial disturbance amplitudes is studied by using direct numerical simulation. The results show that if the initial disturbance amplitudes become smaller,the transition location moves downstream correspondingly,but there is a time delay compared to the time of arrival of the disturbances with reduced amplitudes. Moreover,the speed of moving downstream is appreciably lower than the propagation speed of the disturbances. On the other hand,if the amplitudes of the initial disturbances recover their original value,the transition would immediately take place whenever the disturbances reach the former transition location,but the laminar flow between the new and old transition locations would not become turbulent immediately. | 19 | THROMBOENDARTERECTOMY FOR CHRONIC PULMONARY THROMBOEMBOLISM显示文摘Objective To evaluate the improving reliability and safety of thromboendarterectomy and perioperative management for chronic pulmonary thromboembolism. Methods The clinical data of 12 cases with chronic pulmonary thromboembolism, who underwent thromboendarterec- tomy assisted by low flow or circulation arrest with deep hypothermia, were reviewed retrospectively. Results Pulmonary artery pressure decreased 20 to 40 mmHg immediately after surgical procedures in 9 cases. The postoperative pulmonary edema at various degrees happened in 12 cases, among them, 1 died of severe lung infection and pulmonary re-embolism at 19 days postoperation. Computed tomography pulmonary angiography and angiography of 11 cases indicated that the original obstruction of pulmonary artery disappeared. During the follow-up period of 2 months to 5 years, the clinical symptoms and activity was improved. Conclusion Thromboendarterectomy is an effective treatment for chronic pulmonary thromboembolism. | 20 | Rice GLUTATHIONE PEROXIDASE1-mediated oxidation of bZIP68 positively regulates ABA-independent osmotic stress signaling显示文摘Osmotic stress caused by drought and high salinity is a significant environmental threat that limits plant growth and agricultural yield. Redox regulation plays an important role in plant stress responses, but the mechanisms by which plants perceive and transduce redox signals are still underexplored. Here, we report a critical function for the thiol peroxidase GPX1 in osmotic stress response in rice, where it serves as a redox sensor and transducer. GPX1 is quickly oxidized upon exposure to osmotic stress and forms an intramolecular disulfide bond, which is required for the activation of bZIP68, a VRE-like basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor involved in the ABA-independent osmotic stress response pathway. The disulfide exchange between GPX1 and bZIP68 induces homo-tetramerization of bZIP68 and thus positively regulates osmotic stress response by regulating osmotic-responsive gene expression. Furthermore, we discovered that the nuclear translocation of GPX1 is regulated by its acetylation under osmotic stress.
