| 1 | Review of low timing jitter mode-locked fiber lasers and applications in dual-comb absolute distance measurement显示文摘Passively mode-locked fiber lasers emit femtosecond pulse trains with excellent short-term stability. The quantum-limited timing jitter of a free running femtosecond erbium-doped fiber laser working at room temperature is considerably below one femtosecond at high Fourier frequency. The ultrashort pulse train with ultralow timing jitter enables absolute time-of-flight measurements based on a dual-comb implementation, which is typically composed of a pair of optical frequency combs generated by femtosecond lasers. Dead-zone-free absolute distance measurement with sub-micrometer precision and kHz update rate has been routinely achieved with a dual-comb configuration, which is promising for a number of precision manufacturing applications, from large step-structure measurements prevalent in microelectronic profilometry to three coordinate measurements in large-scale aerospace manufacturing and shipbuilding. In this paper, we first review the sub-femtosecond precision timing jitter characterization methods and approaches for ultralow timing jitter mode-locked fiber laser design. Then, we provide an overview of the state-of-the-art dual-comb absolute ranging technology in terms of working principles, experimental implementations, and measurement precisions. Finally, we discuss the impact of quantum-limited timing jitter on the dual-comb ranging precision at a high update rate. | 2 | Novel MSX1 variants identified in families with nonsyndromic oligodontia显示文摘The goal of this study was to identify MSX1 gene variants in multiple Chinese families with nonsyndromic oligodontia and analyse the functional influence of these variants.Whole-exome sequencing(WES)and Sanger sequencing were performed to identify the causal gene variants in five families with nonsyndromic oligodontia,and a series of bioinformatics databases were used for variant confirmation and functional prediction.Phenotypic characterization of the members of these families was described,and an in vitro analysis was performed for functional evaluation.Five novel MSX1 heterozygous variants were identified:three missense variants[c.662A>C(p.Q221P),c.670C>T(p.R224C),and c.809C>T(p.S270L)],one nonsense variant[c.364G>T(p.G122*)],and one frameshift variant[c.277delG(p.A93Rfs*67)].Preliminary in vitro studies demonstrated that the subcellular localization of MSX1 was abnormal with the p.Q221P,p.R224C,p.G122*,and p.A93Rfs*67 variants compared to the wild type.Three variants(p.Q221P,p.G122*,and p.A93Rfs*67)were classified as pathogenic or likely pathogenic,while p.S270L and p.R224C were of uncertain significance in the current data.Moreover,we summarized and analysed the MSX1-related tooth agenesis positions and found that the type and variant locus were not related to the severity of tooth loss.Our results expand the variant spectrum of nonsyndromic oligodontia and provide valuable information for genetic counselling. | Jinglei Zheng Miao Yu Haochen Liu Tao Cai Hailan Feng Yang Liu Dong Han | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,1: | 4 |

| 4 | Progress on the ultrasonic testing and laser thermography techniques for NDT of tokamak plasma-facing components显示文摘During manufacturing and operation, different kinds of defects, e.g., delamination or surface cracks, may be generated in the plasma-facing components (PFCs) of a Tokamak device. To ensure the safety of the PFCs, various kinds of nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques are needed for different defect and failure mode. This paper gives a review of the recently developed ultrasonic testing (UT) and laser thermography methods for inspection of the delamination and surface cracks in PFCs. For monoblock W/Cu PFCs of divertor, the bonding quality at both W-Cu and Cu- CuCrZr interfaces was qualified by using UT with a focus probe during manufacturing. A noncontact, coupling-free and flexible ultrasonic scanning testing system with use of an electromagnetic acoustic transducer and a robotic inspection manipulator was introduced then for the in-vessel inspection of delamination defect in first wall (FW). A laser infrared thermography testing method is highlighted for the on-line inspection of delamination defect in FW through the vacuum vessel window of the Tokamak reactor. | 5 | Sodium tungsten bronze(Na_(x)WO_(3))-doped near-infrared-shielding bulk glasses for energy-saving applications显示文摘Tungsten bronze coatings and films have attracted global attention for their applications in near-infrared(NIR)-shielding windows.However,they are unstable in strong ultraviolet,humid heat,alkaline and/or oxidizing environments and are difficult to be coated on glass surfaces with complex shape.Here,we address these limitations by doping sodium tungsten bronze(Na_(x)WO_(3))into bulk glasses using a simple glass melting method.X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,TEM and SEM-EDS characterization confirmed the presence of sodium tungsten bronze(Na_(x)WO_(3))functional units inside the 34SiO_(2)-38B_(2)O_(3)-28NaF glass matrix.Because the functional units are well protected by the glass matrix,the fabricated glasses are stable under hot,humid,oxidizing conditions,as well as under ambient conditions,with no change after 360 days.The NIR-shielding performance of these glasses can be adjusted to as high as 100%by varying WO_(x)concentration(2-8 mol%)and quenching temperature(1000-1400℃).With a content of 6 mol%WO_(x)and a quenching temperature of 1000℃,the bulk glass shows 63%transmission of visible light and only 11%transmission of NIR light at 1100 nm.Thermal insulation experiments show that the NIR-shielding performance of the glasses are far superior to commercial soda lime window glass or indium-doped tin oxide(ITO)glass,and comparable to cesium tungsten bronze coated glass.The novel bulk glasses have higher stability,simpler processing,and can be easily made into complex shapes,making them excellent alternative materials for energy-saving glasses. | Guang Yang Yunhang Qi Daming Hu Haochen Wang Hongfei Chen Liangmiao Zhang Chuanxiang Cao Bin Liu Fang Xia Yanfeng Gao | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,30: | 3 |
| 6 | Efficacy of rigosertib, a small molecular RAS signaling disrupter for the treatment of KRAS-mutant colorectal cancer显示文摘Objective:Mutant KRAS,the principal isoform of RAS,plays a pivotal role in the oncogenesis of colorectal cancer by constitutively activating the RAF/MEK/ERK and PI3K/AKT pathways.Effective targeted therapies are urgently needed.We investigated whether rigosertib,a benzyl styryl sulfone RAS signaling disruptor,could selectively kill KRAS-mutant colorectal cancer cells.Methods:CCK-8 was used to determine the cell viability.Patient-derived tumor and cancer cell xenograft models were used to detect the inhibitory efficacy of rigosertib.Flow cytometry was used to evaluate the apoptosis and cell cycle progression.Apoptosis and cell cycle arrest markers were detected by Western blot.DCFH-DA was used to determine the reactive oxygen species.Immunohistochemistry staining and Western blot were performed to characterize RAS signaling markers in colorectal cancer tissues and cells.Results:Rigosertib(RGS)exhibited a cytotoxic effect against colorectal cancer cells,which was greater in KRAS-mutant cells.Furthermore,RGS induced mitotic arrest and oxidative stress-dependent apoptosis in KRAS-mutant DLD1 and HCT116 cells.Besides,RGS disrupted RAS signaling,and the inhibition of RAS/MEK/ERK was independent of cellular oxidative stress.Using patient-derived xenograft models,the response and tumor inhibition of RGS were significantly higher in the KRAS-mutant subgroup,while p-MEK,p-ERK,and p-AKT levels of RGS-treated tumors were significantly decreased.Finally,in a KRAS-mutant,chemotherapy-resistant patient-derived xenograft model,RGS showed a stronger therapeutic effect than the combination standard therapy involving fluoropyrimidine+oxaliplatin/irinotecan+bevacizumab.Conclusions:These data showed that targeting RAS signaling using RGS could be a therapeutic treatment for KRAS-mutant colorectal cancer patients. | Xinyi Zhou Qian Xiao Dongliang Fu Haochen Zhang Yang Tang Jinjie He Yeting Hu Xiangxing Kong Fei Teng Xiangrui Liu Ying Yuan Kefeng Ding | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,2: | 2 |

| 9 | In Situ Synthesis of Cu_(3)P/P-Doped g-C_(3)N_(4)Tight 2D/2D Heterojunction Boosting Photocatalytic H2 Evolution显示文摘Heterojunction design in a two-dimensional(2D)fashion has been deemed beneficial for improving the photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4)because of the promoted interfacial charge transfer,yet still facing challenges.Herein,we construct a novel 2D/2D Cu_(3)P nanosheet/P-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)(PCN)nanosheet heterojunction photocatalyst(PCN/Cu_(3)P)through a simple in-situ phosphorization treatment of 2D/2D CuS/g-C_(3)N_(4)composite for photocatalytic H2 evolution.We demonstrate that the 2D lamellar structure of both CuS and g-C_(3)N_(4)could be well reserved in the phosphorization process,while CuS and g-C_(3)N_(4)in-situ transformed into Cu_(3)P and PCN,respectively,leading to the formation of PCN/Cu_(3)P tight 2D/2D heterojunction.Owing to the large contact area provided by intimate face-to-face 2D/2D structure,the PCN/Cu_(3)P photocatalyst exhibits significantly enhanced charge separation efficiency,thus achieving a boosted visible-light-driven photocatalytic behavior.The highest rate for H2 evolution reaches 5.12 umol·h^(-1),nearly 24 times and 368 times higher than that of pristine PCN and g-C_(3)N_(4),respectively.This work represents an excellent example in elaborately con-structing g-C_(3)N_(4)-based 2D/2D heterostructure and could be extended to other photocatalyst/co-catalyst system. | Fangyong Hou Feng Liu Haochen Wu Muhammad Qasim Yi Chen Yang Duan Zhibo Feng Maochang Liu | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2023,41,2: | 1 |

| 11 | Meshless Surface Wind Speed Field Reconstruction Based on Machine Learning显示文摘We propose a novel machine learning approach to reconstruct meshless surface wind speed fields,i.e.,to reconstruct the surface wind speed at any location,based on meteorological background fields and geographical information.The random forest method is selected to develop the machine learning data reconstruction model(MLDRM-RF)for wind speeds over Beijing from 2015-19.We use temporal,geospatial attribute and meteorological background field features as inputs.The wind speed field can be reconstructed at any station in the region not used in the training process to cross-validate model performance.The evaluation considers the spatial distribution of and seasonal variations in the root mean squared error(RMSE)of the reconstructed wind speed field across Beijing.The average RMSE is 1.09 m s^(−1),considerably smaller than the result(1.29 m s^(−1))obtained with inverse distance weighting(IDW)interpolation.Finally,we extract the important feature permutations by the method of mean decrease in impurity(MDI)and discuss the reasonableness of the model prediction results.MLDRM-RF is a reasonable approach with excellent potential for the improved reconstruction of historical surface wind speed fields with arbitrary grid resolutions.Such a model is needed in many wind applications,such as wind energy and aviation safety assessments. | Nian LIU Zhongwei YAN Xuan TONG Jiang JIANG Haochen LI Jiangjiang XIA Xiao LOU Rui REN Yi FANG | 2022 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,10: | 0 |
| 12 | Spatio-temporal Variation of Distribution Patterns in Cunninghamia lanceolata Plantations显示文摘To aid in management of Cunninghamia lanceolata,the main timber species in Southern China,its variation of spatial distribution pattern was analyzed.Three permanent plots of C.lanceolata plantations with approximately the same site conditions,set by China continuous forest inventory in Shunchang,Fujian,were selected. C.lanceolata growth was divided into two stages: young trees(5 cm≤diameter at breast height (DBH)<10 cm) and mature trees(DBH≥10 cm). The DBH and coordinates of every tree(DBH≥5 cm) in the permanent plots were recorded in 2003 and 2008.The function L(r),improvement of Ripley’s K(r),the paircorrelation function g(r),and the uniform angle index(W_i) were used to analyze the spatio-temporal variation of spatial distribution patterns.The three permanent plots had mean uniform angle index(W) between 0.494-0.578 at low altitudes,0.465-0.477 at medium altitudes,and 0.426-0.601 at high altitudes.Results showed that altitude did not affect the spatial distribution pattern. | 13 | Spatial patterns of zooplankton abundance,biovolume,and size structure in response to environmental variables:a case study in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea显示文摘The Yellow Sea(YS)and East China Sea(ECS)are highly dynamic marginal seas of the northwestern Pacific Ocean.To gain an in-depth understanding of zooplankton community structure,zooplankton abundance,biovolume,and size structure in summer 2017 in the YS and ECS were assessed using ZooScan imaging analysis.Zooplankton abundance and biovolume ranged 2.94–1187.14 inds./m^(3)and 3.13–3438.51 mm^(3)/m^(3),respectively.Based on the biovolume data of the categorized size classes of 26 identified taxonomic groups,the zooplankton community was classified into five groups,and each group was coupled with distinctive oceanographic features.Under the influence of the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass,the Yellow Sea offshore group featured the lowest bottom temperature(10.84±3.42℃)and the most abundant Calanoids(mainly in the 2–3 mm size class).In the Yellow Sea inshore group,Hydrozoans showed the largest biovolume and dominated in the 3–4-mm and>5-mm size classes.The East China Sea offshore group,which was affected by the Kuroshio Branch Current,featured high temperature and salinity,and the lowest bottom dissolved oxygen(2.58±0.5 mg/L).The lowest values of zooplankton abundance and biovolume in the East China Sea offshore group might be attributed to the bottom dissolved oxygen contents.The East China Sea inshore group,which was mainly influenced by the Zhejiang-Fujian Coastal Current and Changjiang Diluted Water,was characterized by high chlorophyll a and the largest biovolume of carnivorous Siphonophores(280.82±303.37 mm^(3)/m^(3)).The Changjiang River estuary offshore group showed the most abundant Cyclopoids,which might be associated with the less turbid water mass in this region.Seawater temperature was considered the most important factor in shaping the size compositions of Calanoids in different groups. | Song SUN Haochen XIAN Xiaoxia SUN Mingliang ZHU Mengtan LIU | 2024 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,1: | 0 |
| 14 | Navigation in virtual and real environment using brain computer interface:a progress report显示文摘A brain-computer interface (BCI) facilitates bypassing the peripheral nervous system and directly communicating with surrounding devices. Navigation technology using BCI has developed-from exploring the prototype paradigm in the virtual environment (VE) to accurately completing the locomotion intention of the operator in the form of a powered wheelchair or mobile robot in a real environment. This paper summarizes BCI navigation applications that have been used in both real and VEs in the past 20 years. Horizontal comparisons were conducted between various paradigms applied to BCI and their unique signal-processing methods. Owing to the shift in the control mode from synchronous to asynchronous, the development trend of navigation applications in the VE was also reviewed. The contrast between high level commands and low-level commands is introduced as the main line to review the two major applications of BCI navigation in real environments: mobile robots and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). | 15 | Heterogeneous influence of individuals’ behavior on mask efficacy in gathering environments显示文摘Wearing masks is an easy way to operate and popular measure for preventing epidemics.Although masks can slow down the spread of viruses,their efficacy in gathering environments involving heterogeneous person-to-person contacts remains unknown.Therefore,we aim to investigate the epidemic prevention effect of masks in different real-life gathering environments.This study uses four real interpersonal contact datasets to construct four empirical networks to represent four gathering environments.The transmission of COVID-19 is simulated using the Monte Carlo simulation method.The heterogeneity of individuals can cause mask efficacy in a specific gathering environment to be different from the baseline efficacy in general society.Furthermore,the heterogeneity of gathering environments causes the epidemic prevention effect of masks to differ.Wearing masks can greatly reduce the probability of clustered epidemics and the infection scale in primary schools,high schools,and hospitals.However,the use of masks alone in primary schools and hospitals cannot control outbreaks.In high schools with social distancing between classes and in workplaces where the interpersonal contact is relatively sparse,masks can meet the need for prevention.Given the heterogeneity of individual behavior,if individuals who are more active in terms of interpersonal contact are prioritized for mask-wearing,the epidemic prevention effect of masks can be improved.Finally,asymptomatic infection has varying effects on the prevention effect of masks in different environments.The effect can be weakened or eliminated by increasing the usage rate of masks in high schools and workplaces.However,the effect on primary schools and hospitals cannot be weakened.This study contributes to the accurate evaluation of mask efficacy in various gathering environments to provide scientific guidance for epidemic prevention. | Haochen SUN Xiaofan LIU Zhanwei DU Ye WU Haifeng ZHANG Xiaoke XU | 2022 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2022,9,4: | 0 |
| 16 | Observation of polarity-switchable photoconductivity in lInitride/MoS_(x)core-shell nanowires显示文摘Ⅱ-Ⅴsemiconductor nanowires are indispensable building blocks for nanoscale electronic and optoelectronic devices.However,solely relying on their intrinsic physical and material properties sometimes limits device functionalities to meet the increasing demands in versatile and complex electronic world.By leveraging the distinctive nature of the one-dimensional geometry and large surface-to-volume ratio of the nanowires,new properties can be attained through monolithic integration of conventional nanowires with other easy-synthesized functional materials.Herein,we combine high-crystal-quality lInitridle nanowires with amorphous molybdenum sulfides(a-MoS)to construct II.nitride/a-MoS_(x) core-shell nanostructures.Upon light ilumination,such nanostructures exhibit striking spectrally distinctive photodetection characteristic in photoelectrochemical environment,demonstrating a negative photoresponsivity of-100.42 mA W^(-1)under 254 nm ilumination,and a positive photoresponsivity of 29.5 mA W^(-1)under 365 nm ilumination.Density functional theory calculations reveal that the successful surface modifcation of the nanowires via a-MoS_(x)decoration accelerates the reaction process at the electrolyte/nanowire interface,leading to the generation of opposite photocurrent signals under different photon ilumination.Most importantly,such polarity-switchable photoconductivity can be further tuned for multiple wavelength bands photodetection by simply adjusting the surrounding environment and/or tailoring the nanowire composition,showing great promise to build light-wavelength controllable sensing devices in the future. | Danhao Wang Wentiao Wu Shi Fang Yang Kang Xiaoning Wang Wei Hu Huabin Yu Haochen Zhang Xin Lu Yuanmin Luo Jr-Hau He Lan Fu Shibing Long Sheng Liu Haiding Sun | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,11: | 0 |
