1Relationships Between Community Structure and Environmental Factors in Xixiakou Artificial Reef Area显示文摘The construction of artificial reefs has unparallelly developed for a few decades in China.Artificial reefs can be used to manage and conserve commercially exploited fish and crustacea.However,their suitability as ecological niche is poorly characterized.Therefore,in this study,we detected the seasonal variation of community biodiversity and the corresponding driving environmental factors.We also explored the relationships between dominant species and environmental factors to identify appropriate ecological niche areas.Different statistical analysis methods were used to assess species distribution within an artificial reef area in Xixiakou during nine sampling events in four seasons between 2017 and 2018.Non-metric multidimensional scaling(NMDS)and cluster analysis results indicated that the components of community can be divided into two clusters.Complexity of community,which is exhibited by species number,biodiversity,and catch per unit effort(CPUE),was significantly higher in summer than in other seasons.Generalized additive model(GAMs)results revealed the significant effects of temperature and chlorophyll a on the community structure.Sebastes schlegelii,Hexagrammos otakii,Conger myriaster and Charybdis japonica were the dominant species in four seasons.GAMs results indicated that temperature,dissolved oxygen(DO),pH and chlorophyll a affect the CPUE of dominant species significantly.The distinct suitable ecological niche for each dominant species was found in this study.For example,Charybdis japonica preferred to live in the area with 20.7–22.1℃,dissolved oxygen 7.07–7.15 mg L−1 and salinity 31.8–31.9.The results of this study are beneficial to resource conservation and fishery management.YU Haolin YANG Wenzhao LIU Changdong TANG Yanli SONG Xiefa FANG Guangjie 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,4:4
2Characterization of frozen soil-cement mixture for berm construction in cold regions显示文摘Lagoon berms in western Alaska are difficult to design and build due to limited resources, high cost of construction and materials, and warm permafrost conditions. This paper explores methods to treat locally available frozen materials and use them for berm construction. The goal is to find an optimized mix ratio for cement and additives that can be effective in increasing the strength and decreasing the thaw settlement of an ice-rich frozen silty soil. Soil of similar type and ice content to the permafrost found at a project site in Eek, Alaska is prepared in a cold room. The frozen soil is pulverized and cement, additives and fibers are added to the samples for enhancing shear strength and controlling thaw settlement. Thaw settlement and direct shear tests are performed to assess strength and settlement characteristics. 3Optimized weak measurement of orbital angular momentum-induced beam shifts in optical reflection显示文摘Tiny but universal beam shifts occur when a polarized light beam is reflected upon a planar interface.Although the beam shifts of Gaussian beams have been measured by the weak measurement technique, the weak measurement for orbital angular momentum(OAM)-induced spatial shifts of vortex beams is still missing.Here, by elaborately choosing the preselection and postselection states, the tiny OAM-induced Goos–H?nchen and Imbert–Fedorov shifts are amplified at an air–prism interface. The maximum shifts along directions both parallel and perpendicular to the incident plane are theoretically predicted and experimentally verified with optimal preselection and postselection states. 4Approximate CN scheme and its open region problems for metamaterial rotational symmetric simulation显示文摘In order to simulate metamaterial rotational symmetric open region problems,unconditionally stable perfectly match layer(PML)implementation is proposed in the body of revolution(BOR)finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)lattice.More precisely,the proposed algorithm is implemented by the Crank-Nicolson(CN)Douglas-Gunn(DG)procedure for BOR metamaterial simulation.The constitutive relationship of metamaterial can be expressed by the Drude model and calculated by the piecewise linear recursive convolution(PLRC)approach.The effectiveness including absorption,efficiency,and accuracy is demonstrated through the numerical example.It can be concluded that the proposed implementation is to take the advantages of the CNDG-PML procedure,PLRC approach,and BORFDTD algorithm in terms of considerable accuracy,enhanced absorption and remarkable efficiency.Meanwhile,it can be demonstrated that the proposed scheme can maintain its unconditional stability when the time step exceeds the CourantFriedrichs-Levy(CFL)condition.WU Peiyu YU Han HU Yenan XIE Yongjun JIANG Haolin 2022Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2022,33,6:1
5Sulfurized hematite for photo-Fenton catalysis显示文摘A hematite/amorphous sulfur composite was prepared via simple heating hematite and α-sulfur in Teflon-lined autoclave at low temperature. The composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman spectrum,Thermal Gravity Analysis(TGA), Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The results revealed that an allotrope sulfur at 5-37% weight percent was found in the composite.After sulfuration, S_n^(2-) or S_2^(2-) was doped in the lattice of hematite, large amounts of OH and SO_4 were adsorbed on the surface of hematite. Hematite/amorphous sulfur composite had superior photo-Fenton activities than pure hematite. This work also demonstrated that amorphous sulfur also had the activity of photo-Fenton catalysis. OH^-and SO_4 radicals facilitated dye adsorption and acted as a bridge to link H_2 O_2. 6Optical characteristics of self-trapped excitons in 2D (iso-BA)_(2)PbI_(4) perovskite crystals显示文摘Organic–inorganic halide metal perovskites are an exciting class of two-dimensional(2D) materials that have sparked renewed interest for next-generation optoelectronics. In particular, the self-trapped excitons(STEs)in 2D perovskite with excellent optical properties suggest great potential in display and narrowband detection.A prerequisite of understanding STEs’ properties is correct identification of the underlying interaction that leads to STEs. Here, the optical properties of STEs in(iso-BA)_(2)PbI_(4) are characterized through laser spectroscopy at various temperatures and excitation intensities. It is found that STEs are related to the octahedral distortion caused by strong electron–phonon interaction. Trapping and detrapping between STEs and free excitons(FEs) are clearly observed. With the increase in temperature, STEs and FEs will gain enough energy and migrate to each other. Moreover, by characterizing the thickness-dependent and two-photon excitation emission, it is confirmed that STEs exist inside the material because of their weak absorption. 7Nitrogen doped porous carbon-based bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst with controllable phosphorus content for zinc-air battery显示文摘The controllable construction of non-noble metal based bifunctional catalysts with high activities towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is of great significance,but remains a challenge.Herein,we reported an effective method to synthesize cobalt-nitrogen doped mesoporous carbon-based bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst with controllable phosphorus content(Co-N-P_(X)-MC,X=0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0).The mesoporous carbon substrate endowed the asprepared samples with more exposed active surface(236.50 m^(2)·g^(−1))and the most appropriate doping ratio of phosphorus had been investigated to be 1.5(Co-N-P1.5-MC).For ORR,Co-N-P1.5-MC exhibited excellent catalytic activity with more positive onset potential(1.01 V)and half-wave potential(0.84 V)than the other samples.For OER,Co-N-P1.5-MC also showed a low overpotential of 415 mV.Combining experimental results and density-functional theory(DFT)calculations,the outstanding bifunctional catalytic performance of Co-N-P1.5-MC was due to the synergistic cooperation between the P and N dopants,which could reduce the reaction barriers and was favorable for ORR and OER.Moreover,the Zn-air battery using Co-N-P1.5-MC as the cathode showed remarkable battery performance with high stability(could operate stably for over 160 h at 10 mA·cm^(−2))and maximum power density(119 mW·cm^(−2)),demonstrating its potential for practical applications.This work could provide significant enlightenment towards the design and construction of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst for next-generation electrochemical devices.Shichang Cai Zihan Meng Gaojie Li Yu An Yapeng Cheng Erjun Kan Bo Ouyang Haining Zhang Haolin Tang 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
8Epigallocatechin-3-gallate/mineralization precursors co-delivery hollow mesoporous nanosystem for synergistic manipulation of dentin exposure显示文摘As a global public health focus,oral health plays a vital role in facilitating overall health.Defected teeth characterized by exposure of dentin generally increase the risk of aggravating oral diseases.The exposed dentinal tubules provide channels for irritants and bacterial invasion,leading to dentin hypersensitivity and even pulp inflammation.Cariogenic bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation on dentin are responsible for tooth demineralization and caries.It remains a clinical challenge to achieve the integration of tubule occlusion,collagen mineralization,and antibiofilm functions for managing exposed dentin.To address this issue,an epigallocatechin-3-gallate(EGCG)and poly(allylamine)-stabilized amorphous calcium phosphate(PAH-ACP)co-delivery hollow mesoporous silica(HMS)nanosystem(E/PA@HMS)was herein developed.The application of E/PA@HMS effectively occluded the dentinal tubules with acid-and abrasion-resistant stability and inhibited the biofilm formation of Streptococcus mutans.Intrafibrillar mineralization of collagen fibrils and remineralization of demineralized dentin were induced by E/PA@HMS.The odontogenic differentiation and mineralization of dental pulp cells with high biocompatibility were also promoted.Animal experiments showed that E/PA@HMS durably sealed the tubules and inhibited biofilm growth up to 14 days.Thus,the development of the E/PA@HMS nanosystem provides promising benefits for protecting exposed dentin through the coordinated manipulation of dentin caries and hypersensitivity.Jian Yu Haolin Bian Yaning Zhao Jingmei Guo Chenmin Yao He Liu Ya Shen Hongye Yang Cui Huang 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,5:0
9Impact of summer moratorium on set-net fi shery in Haizhou Bay,China显示文摘The set-net fi shery resources in Haizhou Bay,China have been over-exploited because of over-fi shing and environmental deterioration.To better understand the current situations and the development trends of fi shery resources,the temporal change of biological characteristics and community compositions were analyzed from 2011 to 2018.Meanwhile,we evaluated the impact of the summer moratorium of marine fi shing(SMMF)on the set-net fi shery.Results show that the mean total length of the six principal species showed varying degrees of decreasing trends,while the changing patterns for the mean weight proportion of the six groups varied.For the whole communities,the similarities of the inter-annual community diversities and compositions were high.SMMF is meaningful to help reproductive success and support recruitment.Every year,the catch per unit eff orts of the six principal species after SMMF were signifi cantly higher than before SMMF except for Octopus ocellatus.The target groups showed a higher mean weight proportion after SMMF than before SMMF in eight years,while the non-target groups were converse.Therefore,the resources of the set-net fi shery are changing in the study periods;and SMMF is an important factor infl uencing biological characteristics and community structure.Despite some challenges,SMMF is still one of the most appropriate policy tools to protect the set-net fi shery resources under the reality of China.Guangjie FANG Haolin YU Xinmeng WANG Huaxiang SHENG Yanli TANG Changdong LIU Chuanxi CHEN Zhenlin LIANG 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4:0
10Novel phthalimides regulating PD-1/PD-L1 interaction as potential immunotherapy agents显示文摘Programmed cell death 1(PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand 1(PD-L1)have emerged as one of the most promising immune checkpoint targets for cancer immunotherapy.Despite the inherent advantages of small-molecule inhibitors over antibodies,the discovery of small-molecule inhibitors has fallen behind that of antibody drugs.Based on docking studies between small molecule inhibitor and PD-L1 protein,changing the chemical linker of inhibitor from a flexible chain to an aromatic ring may improve its binding capacity to PD-L1 protein,which was not reported before.A series of novel phthalimide derivatives from structure-based rational design was synthesized.P39 was identified as the best inhibitor with promising activity,which not only inhibited PD-1/PD-L1 interaction(IC_(50)=8.9 nmol/L),but also enhanced killing efficacy of immune cells on cancer cells.Co-crystal data demonstrated that P39 induced the dimerization of PD-L1 proteins,thereby blocking the binding of PD-1/PD-L1.Moreover,P39 exhibited a favorable safety profile with a LD_(50)>5000 mg/kg and showed significant in vivo antitumor activity through promoting CD8^(+)T cell activation.All these data suggest that P39 acts as a promising small chemical inhibitor against the PD-1/PD-L1 axis and has the potential to improve the immunotherapy efficacy of T-cells.Chengliang Sun Yao Cheng Xiaojia Liu Gefei Wang Wenjian Min Xiao Wang Kai Yuan Yi Hou Jiaxing Li Haolin Zhang Haojie Dong Liping Wang Chenguang Lou Yanze Sun Xinmiao Yu Hongbin Deng Yibei Xiao Peng Yang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,12:0
11Comparison of 16S rRNA Gene Primers on Studying Microbial Community Composition in Bottom Water and Sediment of Artificial Reefs in Laoshan Bay, China显示文摘Marine microorganisms are indispensable regulators of nutrient cycling and energy flow,which are crucial for artificial reefs(ARs)ecosystems.However,little is known about the microbial communities in the bottom water and sediment of ARs.Studies of microbial diversities have greatly advanced due to the development of high-throughput sequencing technologies,whereas the results may vary significantly due to the primers’choice.This study investigated the influences of two 16S ribosomal RNA gene primer choices(V4 and V3-V4)on microbial community compositions and structures.The results showed that the taxonomic assignment de-tected by primer V3-V4 was higher compared with that obtained by primer V4,whereas microbial community compositions had strong correlations between the two primers.Microbial beta diversities of ARs can be uncovered by both primers,but the relation-ships between communities and environmental parameters were inconsistent.The performances of the two primers for water samples were highly consistent,but the inconformity was evident for sediment samples.Given the relatively lower taxonomic classification of primer V4 for sediment samples,primer V3-V4 was recommended for later studies.With the development and advancement of ARs in China,our findings provide a meaningful reference for ecologists focusing on the microbial diversities and ecological functions of these artificial habitats in the future.FANG Guangjie YU Haolin SHENG Huaxiang TANG Yanli LIANG Zhenlin 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,5:0

13Seasonal change of circulating leptin associated with testicular activities of the wild ground squirrels(Citellus dauricus)显示文摘The purpose of this study was to explore the variations in the circulating leptin concentrations of the wild ground squirrels in relation to seasonal changes in testicular activities.Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed all types of elongated spermatids and spermatogenic cells existed in the testis in April,while the primary spermatocytes and spermatogonia were most advanced stages of germ cells in June.In addition,the primary spermatocytes,secondary spermatocytes,and spermatogonia were most advanced stages of germ cells in September.The highest circulating leptin concentration was consistent with the maximum body weight results from accumulation of adipose tissue in September.The mRNA expression level of leptin receptor(Ob-R)and STAT3 was lowest in June,raised in September,and remained increased in April.Ob-R and STAT3 were stronger staining in the Leydig cells in July.Moreover,the concentrations of testosterone(T)showed the maximum values in April,the minimum values in June,and significant increases in September.Furthermore,it is worth noting that the levels of T increased with the mRNA levels of Ob-R,STAT3,StAR,and testicular steroidogenic enzymes(3β-HSD,P450c17,and P450scc).Moreover,RNA-seq analyses of testis during the different periods showed that a total of 4209 genes were differ-entially expressed genes(DEGs);further analysis revealed that DEGs related with the Jak/STAT pathways and reproduction were altered.Taken together,the results suggested that the leptin regulated testicular function through the Jak/STAT pathways and testicular steroidogenic factor expressions.Wenyang YU Sijie FAN Xi WANG Jueyu ZHU Zhengrong YUAN Yingying HAN Haolin ZHANG Qiang WENG 2023Integrative Zoology2023,18,1:0

15Enhanced figure of merit for famatinite Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)via band structure tuning and hierarchical architecture显示文摘The p-type Te-free Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)with famatinite structure is a potential candidate for thermoelectric materials due to the low cost and eco-friendly constituent elements.However,its strong bipolar effect and high lattice thermal conductivity(klat)are the main challenges for its performance enhancement.Herein,we report a new strategy to enhance its figure of merit zT~0.86 at 673 K for Cu_(3)Sb_(0.95)Fe_(0.05)Se_(2.8)S_(1.2)via band structure tuning and hierarchical architecture.Firstly,S substituted Se atoms in lattice can widen the band gap to alleviate the bipolar effect.Secondly,Fe doping in Sb site significantly increases the density of states,thus increasing the carrier effective mass,and obtaining a remarkably high Seebeck coefficient of~560 mV/K at 300 K.Moreover,the induced hierarchical architecture defects resulting in a minimum klat of~0.48 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at 673 K.Consequently,the improved Seebeck coefficient combined with low thermal conductivity leads to an enhanced zT.Lijun Zhao Haolin Ye Xinmeng Wu Jian Yang Lihua Yu Zhongqi Shi Shahid Hussain Guanjun Qiao Junhua Xu Bangzhi Ge Li Wang Chongjian Zhou 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,6:0
