| 2 | Development of a new connection for precast concrete walls subjected to cyclic loading显示文摘The Industrialized Building System(IBS) was recently introduced to minimize the time and cost of project construction.Accordingly, ensuring the integration of the connection of precast components in IBS structures is an important factor that ensures stability of buildings subjected to dynamic loads from earthquakes, vehicles, and machineries.However, structural engineers still lack knowledge on the proper connection and detailed joints of IBS structure construction.Therefore, this study proposes a special precast concrete wall-to-wall connection system for dynamic loads that resists multidirectional imposed loads and reduces vibration effects(PI2014701723).This system is designed to connect two adjacent precast wall panels by using two steel U-shaped channels(i.e., male and female joints).During casting, each joint is adapted for incorporation into a respective wall panel after considering the following conditions: one side of the steel channel opens into the thickness face of the panel; a U-shaped rubber is implemented between the two channels to dissipate the vibration effect; and bolts and nuts are used to create an extension between the two U-shaped male and female steel channels.The developed finite element model of the precast wall is subjected to cyclic loads to evaluate the performance of the proposed connection during an imposed dynamic load.Connection performance is then compared with conventional connections based on the energy dissipation, stress, deformation, and concrete damage in the plastic range.The proposed precast connection is capable of exceeding the energy absorption of precast walls subjected to dynamic load, thereby improving its resistance behavior in all principal directions. | Ramin Vaghei Farzad Hejazi Hafez Taheri Mohd Saleh Jaafar Farah Nora Aznieta Abdul Aziz | 2017 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2017，16，1： | 8 |

| 4 | Fermentation, formulation and evaluation of PGPR Bacillus subtilis isolate as a bioagent for reducing occurrence of peanut soil-borne diseases显示文摘Four isolates of Bacillus subtilis coded,B4,B7,B8 and B10 were examined as biocontrol agents for their abilities and antagonistic effect on the in vitro growth of certain phytopathogenic fungi of peanut,Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotium rolfsii.Bacillus subtilis isolate B4(GenBank accession no.EF150884)was the highly effective one for inhibiting the fungal mycelial growth.Batch fermentation of B.subtilis isolate B4 was carried out and the maximum biomass achieved was 4.53 g L-1 at 11 h.Bacillus subtilis isolate B4 was formulated and evaluated as a biofungicide to reduce peanut soil-borne diseases under greenhouse and field conditions at the side of Rizolex-T(fungicide)as standard.Treatments by formulated plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)B.subtilis B4 and Rizolex-T in a soil infested with R.solani,S.rolfsii and mixture of them were more effective in decreasing percentage of damping-off,root and pod rot disease incidence(%)in greenhouse and open field environment during the two seasons 2015 and 2016.Treatments by PGPR gave highly dry weight and number of healthy pods compared to control of fungi treatment which was nearby to dry weights of healthy pods achieved by treatments by Rizolex-T in a soil infested with S.rolfsii,R.solani and mixture of them.Formulated PGPR B.subtilis B4 gave higher increasing of yield percentage than treatment by Rizolex-T in the two evaluated seasons 2015 and 2016.It can conclude that the produced bioforumlated agent was more efficient as fungicide when compared with the other chemical synthesized fungicides,safe for human and the environment and economy. | Abdel-Gayed M.Ahmad Abo-Zaid G.Attia Matar S.Mohamed Hafez E.Elsayed | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019，18，9： | 3 |

| 8 | The Use of Fractal for Prediction of Burning Rate of Composite Solid Propellants显示文摘By using the fractal geometry it is possible to calculate the actual AP (Ammonium Perchlorate) surface area and oxidizer-binder interface fractal dimension in the prediction of burning rate of composite solid propellants. In this investigation, the fractal dimension was determined by a procedure known as the 'Box Counting Method'. Using this dimension, surface area relations were developed for the rough particles. This method was implemented in the PEM (Petite Ensemble Model) burning rate model. The comparison of burning rates for a typical propellant by the PEM and fractal model shows that the burning rates obtained by using the fractal geometry are slightly less than those obtained by the PEM model. | Manouchehr Nikazar,Mohammad B. First alumina was metallized by applying ultrasonicwave in braze bath. Then the metallized alumina was brazed with Cu using the same filler alloy. The filler used wereZn-Al alloys and Zn-Sn Alloys. The weight percent of Al in filler was ranging between 0, 5%, 10%, respectively.The weight percent of tin in filler was ranging between 0, 30%, 60% and 91%, respectively. The joining mechanismwas investigated by measuring the joining strength, hardness and analyzing the microstructure at interface of thejoint. The shear strength and microstructure of the joint strongly depend on the filler composition. The effect ofultrasound was derived primarily from acoustic cavitations, impact and friction of the filler against alumina ceramic.This improved the wetting between alumina and the filler, and reflected to improve the joint strength. | 13 | Ecologic study of serum selenium and upper gastrointestinal cancers in Iran显示文摘AIM: Both observational and experimental studies have shown that higher selenium status reduces the risk of upper gastrointestinal cancers in selenium deficient populations.Recent cancer registry data have shown very different rates of esophageal cancer (EC) and gastric cancer (GC) in four Provinces of Iran, namely Ardabil, Mazandaran, Golestan,and Kerman. The aim of this study was to have a preliminary assessment of the hypothesis that high rates of EC in Golestan and high rates of GC in Ardabil may be partly attributable to selenium deficiency.METHODS: We measured serum selenium in 300 healthy adults from ArdabU (n = 100), Mazandaran (n = 50), Golestan (n = 100), and Kerman (n = 50), using inductively coupled plasma, with dynamic reaction cell, mass spectrometry (ICP-DRC-MS) at the US Centers for Disease Control (Atlanta,Georgia).RESULTS: The median serum selenium concentrations were very different in the four Provinces. The medians (IQR) for selenium in Ardabil, Mazandarn, Golestan, and Kerman were 82 (75-94), 123 (111-132), 155 (141-173), and 119 (110-128) μg/L, respectively (P<0.001). | 14 | Experimental evaluation of Candonocypris novaezelandiae(Crustacea:Ostracoda) in the biocontrol of Schistosomiasis mansoni transmission显示文摘Objective:To test Candonocypris novaezelandiae(Baird)(C.novaezelandiae),sub-class Ostracoda,obtained from the Nile,Egypt for its predatory activity on snail,Biomphalaria alexandrina(B.alexandrina),intermediate host of Schistosoma mansoni(S.mansoni)and on the free-living larval stages of this parasite(miracidia and cercariae).Methods:The predatory activity of C.novaezelandiae was determined on B.alexandrina snail(several densities of eggs,newly hatched and juveniles).This activity was also determined on S.mansoni miracidia and cercariae using different volumes of water and different numbers of larvae.C.novaezelandiae was also tested for its effect on infection of snails and on the cercarial production.Results:C.novaezelandiae was found to feed on the eggs,newly hatched and juvenile snails,but with significant reduction in the consumption in the presence of other diet like the blue green algae(Nostoc muscorum).This ostracod also showed considerable predatory activity on the free-living larval stages of S.mansoni which was affected by certain environmental factors such as volume of water,density of C.novaezelandiae and number of larvae of the parasite.Conclusions:The presence of this ostracod in the aquatic habitat led to significant reduction of snail population,infection rate of snails with schistosme miracidia as well as of cercarial production from the infected snails.This may suggest that introducing C.novaezelandiae into the habitat at schistosome riskv sites could suppress the transmission of the disease. | Fouad Yousif Sherif Hafez Samia El Bardicy Menerva Tadros Hoda Abu Taleb | 2013 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2013，3，4： | 2 |
