| 1 | Antimony(V) removal from water by hydrated ferric oxides supported by calcite sand and polymeric anion exchanger显示文摘We fabricated and characterized two hybrid adsorbents originated from hydrated ferric oxides(HFOs) using a polymeric anion exchanger D201 and calcite as host. The resultant adsorbents(denoted as HFO-201 and IOCCS) were employed for Sb(V) removal from water. Increasing solution pH from 3 to 9 apparently weakened Sb(V) removal by both composites, while increasing temperature from 293 to 313 K only improved Sb(V) uptake by IOCCS. HFO-201 exhibited much higher capacity for Sb(V) than for IOCCS in the absence of other anions in solution. Increasing ionic strength from 0.01 to 0.1 mol/L NaNO3would result in a significant drop of the capacity of HFO-201 in the studied pH ranges; however, negligible effect was observed for IOCCS under similar conditions. Similarly, the competing chloride and sulfate pose more negative effect on Sb(V) adsorption by HFO-201 than by IOCCS, and the presence of silicate greatly decreased their adsorption simultaneously, while calcium ions were found to promote the adsorption of both adsorbents. XPS analysis further demonstrated that preferable Sb(V) adsorption by both hybrids was attributed to the inner sphere complexation of Sb(V) and HFO, and Ca(II) induced adsorption enhancement possibly resulted from the formation of HFO-Ca-Sb complexes. | 3 | Optimal hardware/software co-synthesis for core-based SoC desi gns显示文摘A hardware/software co-synthesis method is presented for SoC designs consisting of both hardware IP cores and software components on a graph-theoretic formula tion. Given a SoC integrated with a set of functions and a set of performance fa ctors, a core for each function is selected from a set of alternative IP cores and software components, and optimal partitions is found in a way to evenly bala nce the performance factors and to ultimately reduce the overall cost, size, pow er consumption and runtime of the core-based SoC. The algorithm formulates IP c ores and components into the corresponding mathematical models, presents a graph -theoretic model for finding the optimal partitions of SoC design and transform s SoC hardware/software co-synthesis problem into finding optimal paths in a we ighted, directed graph. Overcoming the three main deficiencies of the traditiona l methods, this method can work automatically, evaluate more performance factors at the same time and meet the particularity of SoC designs. | 4 | Allometric models for leaf area and leaf mass predictions across different growing seasons of elm tree(Ulmus japonica)显示文摘Convenient and effective methods to determine seasonal changes in individual leaf area(LA) and leaf mass(LM) of plants are useful in research on plant physiology and forest ecology.However,practical methods for estimating LA and LM of elm(Ulmus japonica) leaves in different periods have rarely been reported.We collected sample elm leaves in June,July and September.Then,we developed allometric models relating LA,LM and leaf parameters,such as leaf length(L) and width(W) or the product of L and W(LW).Our objective was to find optimal allometric models for conveniently and effectively estimating LA and LM of elm leaves in different periods.LA and LM were significantly correlated with leaf parameters(P<0.05),and allometric models with LW as an independent variable were best for estimating LA and LM in each period.A linear model was separately developed to predict LA of elm leaves in June,July and September,and it yielded high accuracies of 93,96 and 96%,respectively.Similarly,a specific allometric model for predicting LM was developed separately in three periods,and the optimal model form in both June and July was a power model,but the linear model was optimal for September.The accuracies of the allometric models in predicting LM were 88,83 and 84% for June,July and September,respectively.The error caused by ignoring seasonal variation of allometric models in predicting LA and LM in the three periods were 1–4 and 16–59%,respectively. | Huiying Cai Xueying Di Guangze Jin | 2017 | Journal of Forestry Research2017,28,5: | 4 |
| 5 | PhaseⅠdose-escalation and expansion study of PARP inhibitor,fluzoparib(SHR3162),in patients with advanced solid tumors显示文摘Objective:Fluzoparib(SHR3162)is a novel,potent poly(ADP-ribose)polymerases(PARP)1,2 inhibitor that showed anti-tumor activity in xenograft models.We conducted a phaseⅠ,first-in-human,dose-escalation and expansion(D-Esc and D-Ex)trial in patients with advanced solid cancer.Methods:This was a 3+3 phaseⅠD-Esc trial with a 3-level D-Ex at 5 hospitals in China.Eligible patients for DEsc had advanced solid tumors refractory to standard therapies,and D-Ex enrolled patients with ovarian cancer(OC).Fluzoparib was administered orally once or twice daily(bid)at 11 dose levels from 10 to 400 mg/d.Endpoints included dose-finding,safety,pharmacokinetics,and antitumor activity.Results:Seventy-nine patients were enrolled from March,2015 to January,2018[OC(47,59.5%);breast cancer(BC)(16,20.3%);colorectal cancer(8,10.1%),other tumors(8,10.1%)];48 patients were treated in the D-Esc arm and 31 in the D-Ex arm.The maximum tolerated dose(MTD)was 150 mg bid,with a half-life of 9.14 h.Grade 3/4 adverse events included anemia(7.6%)and neutropenia(5.1%).The objective response rate(ORR)was 30%(3/10)in patients with platinum-sensitive OC and 7.7%(1/13)in patients with BC.Among patients treated with fluzoparib≥120 mg/d,median progression-free survival(m PFS)was 7.2[95%confidence interval(95%CI),1.8-9.3]months in OC,9.3(95%CI,7.2-9.3)months in platinum-sensitive OC,and 3.5(range,2.0-28.0)months in BC.In patients with germline BC susceptibility gene mutation(g BRCAMut)(11/43 OC;2/16 BC),m PFS was 8.9 months for OC(range,1.0-23.2;95%CI,1.0-16.8)and 14 and 28 months for BC(those two patients both also had somatic BRCAMut).Conclusions:The MTD of fluzoparib was 150 mg bid in advanced solid malignancies.Fluzoparib demonstrated single-agent antitumor activity in BC and OC,particularly in BRCAMut and platinum-sensitive OC. | Huiping Li Rongrui Liu Bin Shao Ran Ran Guohong Song Ke Wang Yehui Shi Jihong Liu Wenjing Hu Fu Chen Xiaoran Liu Gairong Zhang Chuanhua Zhao Ru Jia Quanren Wang Hope S.Rugo Yifan Zhang Guangze Li Jianming Xu | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,3: | 4 |
| 6 | Effects of six years of simulated N deposition on gross soil N transformation rates in an old-growth temperate forest显示文摘Elevated atmospheric nitrogen(N) deposition has been detected in many regions of China, but its effects on soil N transformation in temperate forest ecosystems are not well known. We therefore simulated N deposition with four levels of N addition rate(N0, N30, N60, and N120) for6 years in an old-growth temperate forest in Xiaoxing'an Mountains in Northeastern China. We measured gross N transformation rates in the laboratory using ^(15)N tracing technology to explore the effects of N deposition on soil gross N transformations taking advantage of N deposition soils. No significant differences in gross soil N transformation rates were observed after 6 years of N deposition with various levels of N addition rate. For all N deposition soils, the gross NH_4^+ immobilization rates were consistently lower than the gross N mineralization rates,leading to net N mineralization. Nitrate(NO_3^-) was primarily produced via oxidation of NH_4^+(i.e., autotrophic nitrification), whereas oxidation of organic N(i.e., heterotrophic nitrification) was negligible. Differences between the quantity of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and ammonia-oxidizing archaea were not significant for any treatment, which likely explains the lack of a significant effect on gross nitrification rates. Gross nitrification rates were much higher than the total NO_3^- consumption rates,resulting in a build-up of NO_3^-, which highlights the high risk of N losses via NO_3^- leaching or gaseous N emissions from soils. | 7 | Factors that affect the assembly of ground-dwelling beetles at small scales in primary mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forests in north-east China显示文摘Disentangling the relative roles of environmental and spatial processes in community assembly is a major task of community ecology.It is necessary to uncover this question at multiple spatial scales;however,the relative importance of spatial and environmental processes on ground-dwelling beetle assembly at a small scale is still unclear.Based on two permanent plots(each 300 m)located in primary mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forests,the topographic,soil,and plant factors were collected,and the spatial variables(MEMs,distancebased Moran’s eigenvector maps)were calculated.A redundancy analysis(RDA)was used to evaluate the influence of topographic,soil,and plant variables on ground-dwelling beetle compositions.A variation partitioning analysis was used to quantify the relative contributions of environmental and spatial processes on the assembly of ground-dwelling beetles.The results of the RDA reported that the soil,plant,and topographic variables affected Staphylinidae and Silphidae beetle compositions in both plots.According to the results of variation partitioning,pure soil and plant variables were important for the assembly of Silphidae beetles in the LS plot.The contributions of pure topographic,soil,and plant variables were significantly lower than those of pure spatial variables.The contributions of pure spatial variables were significant for the assembly of Staphylinidae and Silphidae beetles in both plots.In addition,the relative importance of environmental and spatial processes was not significantly changed after including more environmental variables and the unexplained variations.Finally,this study suggests that both spatial and environmental variables are important for the assembly of ground-dwelling beetle communities,while pure spatial variables are more important than pure environmental variables at a small scale(300 m). | Meixiang Gao Zhihong Qiao Hongyu Hou Guangze Jin Donghui Wu | 2020 | Soil Ecology Letters2020,2,1: | 3 |

| 10 | Long-term(42 years)effect of thinning on soil CO_(2)emission in a mixed broadleaved-Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis)forest in Northeast China显示文摘Thinning is an important forest management practice that has great potential to influence regional soil carbon storage and dynamics.The present study measured soil respiration(RS,the efflux of CO2 emitted)and its two components(heterotrophic(RH)and autotrophic(RA)respiration)from soil 42 years after thinning in comparison to un-thinning(control).Autotrophic respiration was significantly greater in the thinning plot,approximately 44%higher compared to the control,while both RSand RHwere slightly,but not significantly,higher in the thinning plot.Higher fine root biomass might have contributed to the higher RAin the thinning plot.Both RSand RHshowed clear soil temperature-dependent seasonal patterns,whereas RAwas less responsive to changes in temperature,especially within one specific season.The annual and season-specific temperature sensitivities of RSand RHwere lower in the thinning plot,specifically during the mid-growing season.Furthermore,variations in the season-specific temperature sensitivity of RSand RHwere less intense in the thinning plot.We conclude that forest thinning can reduce the temperature sensitivity of RSand RHduring the mid-growing season and increase soil CO2 emission in the long term. | Mengguang HAN Weifeng GAO Baoku SHI Guangze JIN | 2021 | Pedosphere2021,31,2: | 2 |
| 11 | Expression Profile and Function Analysis of Long Non-coding RNAs in the Infection of Coxsackievirus B3显示文摘The roles of IncRNAs in the infection of enteroviruses have been barely demonstrated.In this study,we used coxsackievirus B3(CVB3),a typical enterovirus,as a model to investigate the expression profiles and functional roles of IncRNAs in enterovirus infection.We profiled IncRNAs and mRNA expression in CVB3-infected HeLa cells by IncRNA-mRNA integrated microarrays.As a result,700 differentially expressed IncRNAs(431 up-regulated and 269 down-regulated)and 665 differentially expressed mRNAs(299 up-regulated and 366 down-regulated)were identified in CVB3 infection.Then we performed IncRNA-mRNA integrated pathway analysis to identify potential functional impacts of the differentially expressed mRNAs,in which IncRNA-mRNA correlation network was built.According to IncRNA-mRNA correlation,we found that XLOC-001188,an IncRNA down-regulated in CVB3 infection,was negatively correlated with NFAT5 mRNA,an anti-CVB3 gene reported previously.This interaction was supported by qPCR detection following siRNA-mediated knockdown of XLOC-001188,which showed an increase of NFAT5 mRNA and a reduction of CVB3 genomic RNA.In addition,we observed that four most significantly altered IncRNAs,SNHG11,RP11-145F16.2,RP11-1023L17.1 and RP11-1021N1.2 share several common correlated genes critical for CVB3 infection,such as BRE and IRF2BP1.In all,our studies reveal the alteration of IncRNA expression in CVB3 infection and its potential influence on CVB3 replication,providing useful information for future studies of enterovirus infection. | Lei Tong Ye Qiu Hui Wang Yunyue Qu Yuanbo Zhao Lexun Lin Yan Wang Weizhen Xu Wenran Zhao Hongyan He Guangze Zhao Mary HZhang Decheng Yang Xingyi Ge Zhaohua Zhong | 2019 | Virologica Sinica2019,34,6: | 2 |

| 15 | Effects of Low Temperature Stress on Seedling Growth of Plateau Japonica Rice显示文摘[Objective] The study aimed to screen rational seedling raising date and seedling raising mode for plateau japonica rice,in order to reduce the effect of low temperature on seedlings. [Method]The seedlings of conventional japonica rice Hexi 22-2 and giant embryo No. 1 japonica rice were treated at day temperature 12℃ / night temperature 8℃ and day temperature 14 ℃ / night temperature 10 ℃,and the indicators including chlorophyll content,soluble sugar content,soluble protein content,survival rate,plant height,number of ≥ 1 cm roots,leaf wilting degree and aboveground dry matter weight were determined after treated for0,3 and 6 d,respectively. [Result]Chlorophyll content of seedlings decreased when treated by low temperature for a certain period; with the prolongation of treatment time,contents of soluble sugar and soluble protein in some low temperature treatments increased,while plant height,number of ≥ 1 cm roots and aboveground dry matter weight increased slowly,but the growth rate was significantly lower than that at room temperature; with the decrease of temperature and the prolongation of treatment time,leaf wilting degree increased. The comprehensive experimental results showed that with the increasing duration of low temperature,when two japonica rice varieties grew under the same low temperature,seedlings grew more and more slowly,probably because the lower the treatment temperature,the greater the damage on plants. Giant Embryo No. 1 had weaker cold tolerance than Hexi 22-2.
