1The Sequence of Magmatic-Tectonic Events and Orogenic Processes of the Yanshan Belt, North China显示文摘This paper emphasizes that the interactive constraints of geology and isotopic dating is the best approach to construct the geological event sequence, and has compiled 106 data of reasonable isotopic ages for the igneous rocks of the Yanshan belt. We propose a sequence of mgmatic-tectonic events in the Jurassic-Cretaceous Yanshan orogen of North China. Five orogenic episodes are divided, (1) pre-and initial orogenic episode (Early Jurassic); (2) early orogenic episode (Middle Jurassic); (3) peak orogenic episode (Late Jurassic); (4) late orogenic episode (early Early Cretaceous),and (5) post-orogenic episode. Each episode is a short cycle, all of the orogenic processes construct a longer cycle, and they, in general, followed a counter-clockwise (ccw) PTt path. 2Vision,Requirements and Network Architecture of 6G Mobile Network beyond 2030显示文摘With the 5th Generation(5G)Mobile network being rolled out gradually in 2019,the research for the next generation mobile network has been started and targeted for 2030.To pave the way for the development of the 6th Generation(6G)mobile network,the vision and requirements should be identified first for the potential key technology identification and comprehensive system design.This article first identifies the vision of the society development towards 2030 and the new application scenarios for mobile communication,and then the key performance requirements are derived from the service and application perspective.Taken into account the convergence of information technology,communication technology and big data technology,a logical mobile network architecture is proposed to resolve the lessons from 5G network design.To compromise among the cost,capability and flexibility of the network,the features of the 6G mobile network are proposed based on the latest progress and applications of the relevant fields,namely,on-demand fulfillment,lite network,soft network,native AI and native security.Ultimately,the intent of this article is to serve as a basis for stimulating more promising research on 6G.Guangyi Liu Yuhong Huang Na Li Jing Dong Jing Jin Qixing Wang Nan Li 2020China Communications2020,17,9:37

8Processes of coastal ecosystem carbon sequestration and approaches for increasing carbon sink显示文摘The oceans are the largest carbon pools on Earth, and play the role of a 'buffer' in climate change. Blue carbon, the carbon(mainly organic carbon) captured by marine ecosystems, is one of the important mechanisms of marine carbon storage.Blue carbon was initially recognized only in the form of visible coastal plant carbon sequestration. In fact, microorganisms(phytoplankton, bacteria, archaea, viruses, and protozoa), which did not receive much attention in the past, account for more than 90% of the total marine biomass and are the main contributors to blue carbon. Chinese coastal seas, equivalent to 1/3 of China's total land area, have a huge carbon sink potential needing urgently research and development. In this paper, we focus on the processes and mechanisms of coastal ocean's carbon sequestration and the approaches for increasing that sequestration. We discuss the structures of coastal ecosystems, the processes of carbon cycle, and the mechanisms of carbon sequestration. Using the evolution of coastal ocean's carbon sinks in sedimentary records over geologic times, we also discuss the possible effects of natural processes and anthropogenic activities on marine carbon sinks. 10Deep Learning in Power Systems Research:A Review显示文摘With the rapid growth of power systems measurements in terms of size and complexity,discovering statistical patterns for a large variety of real-world applications such as renewable energy prediction,demand response,energy disaggregation,and state estimation is considered a crucial challenge.In recent years,deep learning has emerged as a novel class of machine learning algorithms that represents power systems data via a large hypothesis space that leads to the state-of-the-art performance compared to most recent data-driven algorithms.This study explores the theoretical advantages of deep representation learning in power systems research.We review deep learning methodologies presented and applied in a wide range of supervised,unsupervised,and semi-supervised applications as well as reinforcement learning tasks.We discuss various settings of problems solved by discriminative deep models including stacked autoencoders and convolutional neural networks as well as generative deep architectures such as deep belief networks and variational autoencoders.The theoretical and experimental analysis of deep neural networks in this study motivates longterm research on optimizing this cutting-edge class of models to achieve significant improvements in the future power systems research.Mahdi Khodayar Guangyi Liu Jianhui Wang Mohammad E.Khodayar 2021CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,2:4
11Accelerated evolution of an Lhx2 enhancer shapes mammalian social hierarchies显示文摘Social hierarchies emerged during evolution,and social rank influences behavior and health of individuals.However,the evolutionary mechanisms of social hierarchy are still unknown in amniotes.Here we developed a new method and performed a genome-wide screening for identifying regions with accelerated evolution in the ancestral lineage of placental mammals,where mammalian social hierarchies might have initially evolved.Then functional analyses were conducted for the most accelerated region designated as placental-accelerated sequence 1(PAS1,P=3.15 × 10^-18).Multiple pieces of evidence show that PAS1 is an enhancer of the transcription factor gene Lhx2 involved in brain development.PAS1s isolated from various amniotes showed different c/s-regulatory activity in vitro,and affected the expression of Lhx2 differently in the nervous system of mouse embryos.PAS1 knock-out mice lack social stratification.PAS1 knock-in mouse models demonstrate that PAS1s determine the social dominance and subordinate of adult mice,and that social ranks could even be turned over by mutated PAS1.All homozygous mutant mice had normal huddled sleeping behavior,motor coordination and strength.Therefore,PAS1-Lhx2 modulates social hierarchies and is essential for establishing social stratification in amniotes,and positive Darwinian selection on PAS1 plays pivotal roles in the occurrence of mammalian social hierarchies.Yuting Wang Guangyi Dai Zhili Gu Guopeng Liu Ke Tang Yi-Hsuan Pan Yujie Chen Xin Lin Nan Wu Haoshan Chen Su Feng Shou Qiu Hongduo Sun Qian Li Chuan Xu Yanan Mao Yong Edward Zhang Philipp Khaitovich Yan-Ling Wang Qunxiu Liu Jing-Dong Jackie Han Zhen Shao Gang Wei Chun Xu Naihe Jing Haipeng Li 2020Cell Research2020,30,5:4

13Two-stage Hydrolysis of Invasive Algal Feedstock for Ethanol Fermentation显示文摘The overall goal of this work was to develop a saccharification method for the production of third generation biofuel (i.e.bioethanol) using feedstock of the invasive marine macroalga Gracilaria salicornia.Under optimum conditions (120 C and 2% sulfuric acid for 30 min),dilute acid hydrolysis of the homogenized invasive plants yielded a low concentration of glucose (4.1 mM or 4.3 g glucose/kg fresh algal biomass).However,two-stage hydrolysis of the homogenates (combination of dilute acid hydrolysis with enzymatic hydrolysis) produced 13.8 g of glucose from one kilogram of fresh algal feedstock.Batch fermentation analysis produced 79.1 g EtOH from one kilogram of dried invasive algal feedstock using the ethanologenic strain Escherichia coli KO11.Furthermore,ethanol production kinetics indicated that the invasive algal feedstock contained different types of sugar,including C 5-sugar.This study represents the first report on third generation biofuel production from invasive macroalgae,suggesting that there is great potential for the production of renewable energy using marine invasive biomass.Xin Wang Xianhua Liu Guangyi Wang 2011Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2011,53,3:4
14Improved production of docosahexaenoic acid in batch fermentation by newly-isolated strains of Schizochytrium sp.and Thraustochytriidae sp.through bioprocess optimization显示文摘Thraustochytrids,rich in docosahexaenoic acid(DHA,C22:6u3),represent a potential source of dietary fatty acids.Yet,the effect of culture conditions on growth and fatty acid composition vary widely among different thraustochytrid strains.Two different thraustochytrid strains,Schizochytrium sp.PKU#Mn4 and Thraustochytriidae sp.PKU#Mn16 were studied for their growth and DHA production characteristics under various culture conditions.Although they exhibited similar fatty acid profiles,PKU#Mn4 seemed a good candidate for industrial DHA fermentation while PKU#Mn16 displayed growth tolerance to a wide range of process conditions.Relative DHA content of 48.5%and 49.2%(relative to total fatty acids),respectively,were achieved on glycerol under their optimal flask culture conditions.Maximum DHA yield(Yp/x)of 21.0%and 18.9%and productivity of 27.6 mg/L-h and 31.9 mg/L-h were obtained,respectively,in 5-L bioreactor fermentation operated with optimal conditions and dual oxygen control strategy.A 3.4-and 2.8-fold improvement of DHA production(g/L),respectively,was achieved in this study.Overall,our study provides the potential of two thraustochytrid strains and their culture conditions for efficient production of DHA-rich oil.Qiuzhen Wang Huike Ye Biswarup Sen Yunxuan Xie Yaodong He Sunghoon Park Guangyi Wang 2018Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2018,3,2:4
15SOX4 contributes to TGF-β-induced epithelialemesenchymal transition and stem cell characteristics of gastric cancer cells显示文摘SOX4 is highly expressed in gastric cancer(GC)and is associated with tumor grade,metastasis and prognosis,however the mechanism is not clear.We report herein that SOX4 was upregulated and overexpression of SOX4 was associated with increased expression of the markers of Epithelialemesenchymal transition(EMT)and stemness in clinic patient samples.In vitro,overexpression of SOX4 promoted the invasion as showed by Transwell assay and stemness of GC cells as assessed by sphere formation assay,which was suppressed by silencing SOX4 with shRNA.Further studies showed that SOX4 up-regulated the expression of EMT transcription factors Twist1,snail1 and zeb1 and stemness transcription factors SOX2 and OCT4,and promoted the nuclear translocation of β-catenin.Moreover,we revealed that TGF-β treatment significantly up-regulated the expression of SOX4 and silencing SOX4 reversed TGF-β induced invasion and sphere formation ability of GC cells.Finally,we showed that SOX4 promoted the lung metastasis and tumor formation ability of gastric cancer cells in nude mice.Our results suggest that SOX4 is a target TGF-β signaling and mediates TGF-β-induced EMT and stem cell characteristics of GC cells,revealing a novel role of TGF-β/SOX4 axis in the regulation of malignant behavior of GC.Xudong Peng Guangyi Liu Hongxia Peng Anqi Chen Lang Zha Ziwei Wang 2018Genes & Diseases2018,5,1:4

18The Marine Redox Change and Nitrogen Cycle in the Early Cryogenian Interglacial Time: Evidence from Nitrogen Isotopes and Mo Contents of the Basal Datangpo Formation, Northeastern Guizhou, South China显示文摘Cryogenian Datangpo Formation was deposited during the interglacial time between the Sturtian and Marinoan ice ages. We studied nitrogen isotope compositions and contents of Mo of the black shales from the basal Datangpo Formation in northeastern Guizhou, South China, for an attempt to reconstruct the marine redox change and nitrogen cycle during the interglacial time. Based on lithostratigraphy as well as geochemical profiles, the basal black shales can be divided into four intervals: Interval 1 has the lowest δ^(15)N value(+5.0‰); in interval 2, δ^(15)N values vary between +6.4‰ and +7.4‰(the first peak); interval 3 records stable values of δ^(15)N around +6‰; and interval 4 is characterized by its higher δ^(15)N values, between +6.7‰ and +7.8‰(the second peak). The values of enrichment factor of Mo decrease from 56.8 to 2.6 with the ascending stratigraphic trend. It indicated that immediately after the Sturtian glaciations, the marine seawater above the transitional zone between the shelf to slope of the southern margin of the Yangtze Platform was stratified, with shallow seawater being oxic but deep water being sulfidic. 19Differentiation of human adipose-derived stem cells into neuron-like cells by Radix Angelicae Sinensis显示文摘Human adipose tissues are an ideal source of stem cells.It is important to find inducers that can safely and effectively differentiate stem cells into functional neurons for clinical use.In this study,we investigate the use of Radix Angelicae Sinensis as an inducer of neuronal differentiation.Primary human adipose-derived stem cells were obtained from adult subcutaneous fatty tissue,then pre-induced with 10%Radix Angelicae Sinensis injection for 24 hours,and incubated in serum-free Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium/Nutrient Mixture F-12 containing 40%Radix Angelicae Sinensis to induce its differentiation into neuron-like cells.Butylated hydroxyanisole,a common inducer for neuronal differentiation,was used as the control.After human adipose-derived stem cells differentiated into neuron-like cells under the induction of Radix Angelicae Sinensis for 24 hours,the positive expression of neuron-specific enolase was lower than that of the butylated hydroxyanisole-induced group,and the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein was negative.After they were induced for 48 hours,the positive expression of neuron specific enolase in human adipose-derived stem cells was significantly higher than that of the butylated hydroxyanisole-induced group.Our experimental findings indicate that Radix Angelicae Sinensis can induce human adipose-derived stem cell differentiation into neuron-like cells and produce less cytotoxicity.Qiaozhi Wang Lile Zhou Yong Guo Guangyi Liu Jiyan Cheng Hong Yu 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,35:3
20A biomimetic and bioactive scaffold with intelligently pulsatile teriparatide delivery for local and systemic osteoporosis regeneration显示文摘Osteoporosis is one of the most disabling consequences of aging,osteoporotic fractures and higher risk of the subsequent fractures leading to substantial disability and deaths,indicating both local fractures healing and the early anti-osteoporosis therapy are of great significance.Teriparatide is strong bone formation promoter effective in treating osteoporosis,while side effects limit clinical applications.Traditional drug delivery is lack of sensitive and short-term release,finding a new non-invasive and easily controllable drug delivery to not only repair the local fractures but also improve total bone mass has remained a great challenge.Thus,bioinspired by the natural bone components,we develop appropriate interactions between inorganic biological scaffolds and organic drug molecules,achieving both loaded with the teriparatide in the scaffold and capable of releasing on demand.Herein,biomimetic bone microstructure of mesoporous bioglass,a near-infrared ray triggered switch,thermosensitive liposomes based on a valve,and polydopamine coated as a heater is developed rationally for osteoporotic bone regeneration.Teriparatide is pulsatile released from intelligent delivery,not only rejuvenating osteoporotic bone defect,but also presenting strong systemic anti-osteoporosis therapy.This biomimetic bone carrying novel drug delivery platform is well worth expecting to be a new promising strategy and clinically commercialized to help patients survive from the osteoporotic fracture.Lingbin Che Ying Wang Dongyong Sha Guangyi Li Ziheng Wei Changsheng Liu Yuan Yuan Dianwen Song 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:3
