| 2 | The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. | 3 | Operative link on gastritis assessment stage is an appropriate predictor of early gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To assess the predictive value of Operative Link on Gastritis Assessment(OLGA) and Operative Link on Gastric Intestinal Metaplasia Assessment(OLGIM) stages in gastric cancer.METHODS: A prospective study was conducted with 71 patients with early gastric cancer(EGC) and 156 patients with non-EGC. All patients underwent endoscopic examination and systematic biopsy. Outcome measures were assessed and compared, including the Japanese endoscopic gastric atrophy(EGA) classification method and the modified OLGA method as well as the modified OLGIM method. Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) status was determined for all study participants. Stepwise logistic regression modeling was performed to analyze correlations between EGC and the EGA, OLGA and OLGIM methods.RESULTS: For patients with EGC and patients with non-EGC, the proportions of moderate-to-severe EGA cases were 64.8% and 44.9%, respectively(P = 0.005), the proportions of OLGA stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ cases were 52.1% and 22.4%, respectively(P < 0.001), and the proportions of OLGIM stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ cases were42.3% and 19.9%, respectively(P < 0.001). OLGA stage and OLGIM stage were significantly related to EGA classification; specifically, logistic regression modeling showed significant correlations between EGC and moderate-to-severe EGA(OR = 1.95, 95% CI: 1.06-3.58, P = 0.031) and OLGA stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ(OR = 3.14, 95%CI: 1.71-5.81, P < 0.001), but no significant correlation between EGC and OLGIM stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ(P = 0.781). H. pylori infection rate was significantly higher in patients with moderate-to-severe EGA(75.0% vs 54.1%, P = 0.001) or OLGA/OLGIM stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ(OLGA: 83.6% vs 55.8%, P < 0.001; OLGIM: 83.6% vs 57.8%, P < 0.001).CONCLUSION: OLGA classification is optimal for EGC screening. | 5 | Expression and correlation of CD44v6, vascular endothelial growth factor, matrix metalloproteinase-2, and matrix metalloproteinase-9 in Krukenberg tumor显示文摘AIM: To explore the expression and correlation of CD44v6,vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 in Krukenberg and primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma.METHODS: The expressions of CD44v6, VEGF, MMP-2and MMP-9 were detected by immunohistochemical method in 20 cases of normal ovarian tissues, 38 cases of Krukenberg tumor and 45 cases of primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma.RESULTS: The expression of CD44v6 (primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma tissue vs normal ovarian tissue:x2= 4.516, P= 0.034; Krukenberg tumor tissue vsnormal ovarian tissue: x2 = 19.537, P= 0.001) and VEGF (primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma tissue vs normal ovarian tissue: P = 0.026; Krukenberg tumor tissue vs normal ovarian tissue: x2= 22.895, P = 0.001) was significantly higher in primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma tissue and Krukenberg tumor tissue than in normal ovarian tissue.The positive expression rate of MMP-2 and MMP-9 was 0%in the normal ovarian tissue. The positive expression rate of CD44v6 (x2 = 10.398, P = 0.001), VEGF (x2 = 13.149,P= 0.001), MMP-2 (x2= 33.668, P= 0.001) and MMP-9(x2= 38.839, P = 0.001) was remarkably higher in Krukenberg tumor than in primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma. The correlation of CD44v6, VEGF, MMP-2, and MMP-9 was observed in primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma and Krukenberg tumor.CONCLUSION: CD44v6, VEGF, MMP-2, and MMP-9 are involved in ovarian carcinoma, gastric cancer and Krukenberg tumor. | 6 | Over-expression of Metastasis-associated in Colon Cancer-1 (MACC1) Associates with Better Prognosis of Gastric Cancer Patients显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to detect metastasis-associated in colon cancer-1 (MACC1) expression in Chinese gastric cancer and analyze the relationship between MACC1 expression and postoperative survival. Methods: The expression of MACC1 and c-MET protein in a sample of 128 gastric cancer tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. A retrospective cohort study on the prognosis was carried out and data were collected from medical records. Results: The positive rate of MACC1 protein expression in gastric cancer was 47.66%, higher than that in adjacent noncancerous mucosa (P<0.001). MACC1 protein expression was not related to the clinicopathological variables involved. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the survival of MACC1 positive group tended to be better than that of MACC1 negative group, particularly in patients with stage III carcinoma (P=0.032). Cox regression analysis revealed that MACC1 protein over-expression in gastric cancer tended to be a protective factor with hazard ratio of 0.621 (P=0.057). Immunohistochemical analysis showed that the positive rate of c-MET protein expression was much higher in cases with positive MACC1 expression in gastric cancer (P=0.002), but P53 expression was not associated with MACC1 expression. | 9 | SPARCL1, Shp2, MSH2, E-cadherin, p53, ADCY-2 and MAPK are prognosis-related in colorectal cancer显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of markers that are correlated with the prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. METHODS: One hundred and fifty-six CRC patientswere followed up for more than 3 years after radical surgery. Immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis was performed to detect the expression of 14 pathway-related markers (p53, APC, p21ras, E-cadherin, endothelin-B receptor, Shp2, ADCY-2, SPARCL1, neuroligin1, hsp27, mmp-9, MAPK, MSH2 and rho) in specimens from these patients. Bioinformatics analysis involving a Support Vector Machine (SVM) was used to determine the best prognostic model from combinations of these markers. RESULTS: Seven markers (SPARCL1, Shp2, MSH2, E-cadherin, p53, ADCY-2 and MAPK) were significantly related to the prognosis and clinical pathological features of the CRC patients (P < 0.05). Prognostic models were established through SVM from combinations of these 7 markers and proved able to differentiate patients with dissimilar survival, especially in stage Ⅱ/Ⅲ patients. According to the best prognostic model, the p53/SPARCL1 model, patients having high p53 and low SPARCL1 expression had about 50% lower 3-year survival than others (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: SPARCL1, Shp2, MSH2, E-cadherin, p53, ADCY-2 and MAPK are potential prognostic markers in CRC. | 11 | Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. The rice growth was severely inhibited when Cd level in the solution was higher than 10 mg/L. In rice shoots, GSH content and GST activity increased with the increasing Cd level, while in roots, GST was obviously inhibited by Cd treatments. Compared with shoots, the rice roots had higher GSH content and GST activity, indicating the ability of Cd detoxification was much higher in roots than in shoots. Rather than attempt to cover all topics, we have chosen a few climatic intervals and events judged to be particularly informative to the international community. In historical climate simulations, changes in solar radiation and volcanic activity explain most parts of reconstructions over the last millennium prior to the industrial era, while atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations play the most important role in the20 th century warming over China. There is a considerable model–data mismatch in the annual and boreal winter temperature change over China during the mid-Holocene [6000 years before present(ka BP)], while coupled models with an interactive ocean generally perform better than atmospheric models. For the Last Glacial Maximum(21 ka BP), climate models successfully reproduce the surface cooling trend over China but fail to reproduce its magnitude, with a better performance for coupled models. At that time, reconstructed vegetation and western Pacific sea surface temperatures could have significantly affected the East Asian climate, and environmental conditions on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau were most likely very different to the present day. During the late Marine Isotope Stage 3(30–40 ka BP), orbital forcing and Northern Hemisphere glaciation, as well as vegetation change in China, were likely responsible for East Asian climate change. | 18 | On-board measurement of particle numbers and their size distribution from a light-duty diesel vehicle:Influences of VSP and altitude显示文摘In this study,the particle size-resolved distribution from a China-3 certificated light-duty diesel vehicle was measured by using a portable emission measurement system(PEMS).In order to examine the influences of vehicle specific power(VSP) and high-altitude operation,measurements were conducted at 8 constant speeds,which ranged from 10 to 80 km/hr at10 km/hr intervals,and two different high altitudes,namely 2200 and 3200 m.The results demonstrated that the numbers of particles in all size ranges decreased significantly as VSP increased when the test vehicle was running at lower speeds(< 20 km/hr),while at a moderate speed(between 30 and 60 km/hr),the particle number was statistically insensitive to increase VSP.Under high-speed cruising conditions,the numbers of ultrafine particles and PM2.5were insensitive to changes in VSP,but the numbers of nanoparticles and PM10 surged considerably.An increase in the operational altitude of the test vehicle resulted in increased particle number emissions at low and high driving speeds;however,particle numbers obtained at moderate speeds decreased as altitude rose.When the test vehicle was running at moderate speeds,particle numbers measured at the two altitudes were very close,except for comparatively higher number concentrations of nanoparticles measured at 2200 m. | Jia Liu Yunshan Ge Xin Wang Lijun Hao Jianwei Tan Zihang Peng Chuanzhen Zhang Huiming Gong Ying Huang | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7: | 12 |
| 19 | Association between Chinese Medicine Therapy and Survival Outcomes in Postoperative Patients with NSCLC: A Multicenter, Prospective, Cohort Study显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the association between Chinese medicine(CM)therapy and disease-free survival(DFS)outcomes in postoperative patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:This multiple-center prospective cohort study was conducted in 13 medical centers in China.Patients with stage I,II,or IDA NSCLC who had undergone radical resection and received conventional postoperative treatment according to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network(NCCN)guidelines were recruited.The recruited patients were divided into a CM treatment group and a control group according to their wishes.Patients in the CM treatment group received continuous CM therapy for more than 6 months or until disease progression.Patients in the control group received CM therapy for less than 1 month.Follow-up was 8nducted over 3 years.The primary outcome was DFS,with recurrence/metastasis rates as a secondary outcome.Results:Between May 2013 and August 2016,503 patients were enrolled into the cohort;266 were classified in the CM treatment group and 237 in the control group.Adjusting for covariates,high exposure to CM was associated with better DFS[hazard ratio(HR)=0.417,95%confidential interval(Cl):0.307-0.567)].A longer duration of CM therapy(6-12 months,12-18 months,>24 months)was associated with lower recurrence and metastasis rates(HR=0.225,0.119 and 0.083,respectively).In a subgroup exploratory analysis,CM therapy was also a protective factor of cancer recurrence and metastasis in both stage n-MA(HR=0.50,95%Cl:0.37-0.67)and stage IDA NSCLC postoperative patients(HR=0.48,95%Cl:0.33-0.71),DFS was even longer among CM treatment group patients.Conclusions:Lon ger duration of CM therapy could be 8nsidered a protective factor of cancer recurrence and metastasis.CM treatment is associated with improving survival outcomes of postoperative NSCLC patients in China. | WANG Xue-qian ZHANG Ying HOU Wei WANG Ying-tian ZHENG Jia-bin LI Jie LIN Li-zhu JIANG Yi-lan WANG Shen-yu XIE Ying ZHANG Hong-liang SHU Qi-jin LI Ping WANG Wei YOU Jian-liang LI Ge LIU Jie FAN Hui-ting ZHANG Mei-ying LIN Hong-sheng | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2019,25,11: | 12 |

The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects.
