1Degradation of Soil Properties due to Erosion on Sloping Land in Southern Jiangsu Province,China显示文摘Soil erosion accelerates soil degradation. Some natural soils and cultivated soils on sloping land in southern Jiangsu Province, China were chosen to study soil degradation associated with erosion. Soil erosion intensity was investigated using the 137Cs tracer method. Soil particle-size distribution, soil organic matter (OM), total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) were measured, and the effects of erosion on soil physical and chemical properties were analyzed statistically using SYSTAT8.0. Results indicated that erosion intensity of cultivated soils was greater than that of the natural soils, suggesting that cultivation increased soil loss. Erosion also led to an increase of coarser soil particle proportion, especially in natural soils. In addition, silt was the primary soil particle lost due to erosion. However, in cultivated fields, coarser soil particles over time were attributed not only to soil erosion but also to mechanical eluviation as a result of farming activities. 3LKB1 in lung cancerigenesis:a serine/threonine kinase as tumor suppressor显示文摘Lung cancer is featured with high mortality,with a 15%five-year survival rate worldwide.Genetic alterations,such as loss of function of tumor suppressor genes,frequently contribute to lung cancer initiation,progression and metastasis.Liver kinase B1(LKB1),as a serine/threonine kinase and tumor suppressor,is frequently mutated and inactivated in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Recent studies have provided strong evidences that LKB1 loss promotes lung cancerigenesis process,especially lung cancer progression and metastasis.This review will summarize recent progress on how LKB1 modulates the process of lung cancerigenesis,emphasizing on LKB1 downstream signaling pathways and biological functions.We will further discuss the potential development of prognostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets in lung cancer clinic based on the molecular alteration associated with deregulated LKB1 signaling.Yijun Gao Gaoxiang Ge Hongbin Ji 2011Protein & Cell2011,2,2:8

5Inhibitory effects of the extracts with different solvents from three compositae plants on cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosas显示文摘The algicidal activity of the terrestrial plants is a novel and promising means for alga control of eutrophic waters.In this study,three compositae plants - Artemisia annua(A.annua),Conyza canadensis(C.canadensis),and Erigeron annuus(E.annuus) were selected and antialgal activity of petroleum ether(PE),ethyl acetate(EA) and ethanol extracts of these plants on blue algae Microcystis aeruginosa was investigated.The result shows the EA extracts of these plants present the stronger inhibitory effects.The results of the further separation of PE and EA extracts according to water-solubility and acidity or alkalinity show that fatty acids and terpenoids in A.annua,terpenoids and organic acid in C.Canadensis and E.Annuus may be the main antialgal active constituents.This study suggested that the EA extracts of these plants could become the potential algicide to prevent water blooming.NI LiXiao HAO XiangYang LI ShiYin CHEN ShiJin REN GaoXiang ZHU Liang 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,7:7
6Study on Mach stems induced by interaction of planar shock waves on two intersecting wedges显示文摘The properties of Mach stems in hypersonic corner flow induced by Mach interaction over 3D intersecting wedges were studied theoretically and numerically.A new method called 'spatial dimension reduction' was used to analyze theoretically the location and Mach number behind Mach stems. By using this approach, the problem of 3D steady shock/shock interaction over 3D intersecting wedges was transformed into a 2D moving one on cross sections, which can be solved by shock-polar theory and shock dynamics theory. The properties of Mach interaction over 3D intersecting wedges can be analyzed with the new method,including pressure, temperature, density in the vicinity of triple points, location, and Mach number behind Mach stems.Theoretical results were compared with numerical results,and good agreement was obtained. 7Shock/shock interactions between bodies and wings显示文摘This paper examines the Shock/Shock Interactions(SSI)between the body and wing of aircraft in supersonic flows.The body is simplified to a flat wedge and the wing is assumed to be a sharp wing.The theoretical spatial dimension reduction method,which transforms the 3D problem into a 2D one,is used to analyze the SSI between the body and wing.The temperature and pressure behind the Mach stem induced by the wing and body are obtained,and the wave configurations in the corner are determined.Numerical validations are conducted by solving the inviscid Euler equations in 3D with a Non-oscillatory and Non-free-parameters Dissipative(NND)finite difference scheme.Good agreements between the theoretical and numerical results are obtained.Additionally,the effects of the wedge angle and sweep angle on wave configurations and flow field are considered numerically and theoretically.The influences of wedge angle are significant,whereas the effects of sweep angle on wave configurations are negligible.This paper provides useful information for the design and thermal protection of aircraft in supersonic and hypersonic flows.Gaoxiang XIANG Chun WANG Honghui TENG Zonglin JIANG 2018Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2018,31,2:5
8Observation of Magnetohydrodynamics Instabilities in Ion Berstein Wave and Lower-Hybrid-Current Driving Synergetic Discharges on HT-7 Tokamak显示文摘The normalized performance indicated by the product ofβNH89>2 was achieved by a combination of the lower hybrid current driving (LHCD) and the ion Berstein wave (IBW) heating in the HT-7 tokamak. More than 80% of the plasma current was sustained by the LHCD and the bootstrap current. Large edge pressure gradients were observed. The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) instabilities were often driven to terminate the discharge or reduce the discharge performance, when the IBW resonant layer was near the rational surface. The resonant layer of the safety factor q=2 is located at 0.6 a with a = 27 cm being the minor radius. The width of magnetic island (the poloidal mode number m = 2) was about 2 cm. The plasma energy was reduced quickly by 30% by MHD instabilities. The behaviour of MIlD instabilities is reported. 9Single-cell transcriptomes of peripheral blood cells indicate and elucidate severity of COVID-19显示文摘The blood and immune system of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infected patients are dysfunctional,and numerous studies have been conducted to resolve their characteristics and pathogenic mechanisms.Nevertheless,the variations of immune responses along with disease severity have not been comprehensively documented.Here,we profiled the single-cell transcriptomes of 96,313 peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)derived from 12 COVID-19 patients(including four moderate,four severe and four critical cases)and three healthy donors.We showed that proliferative CD8 effector T cells with declined immune functions and cytotoxicity accumulated in the critical stage.By contrast,the quantity of natural killer(NK)cells was significantly reduced,while they exhibited enhanced immune activities.Notably,a gradually attenuated responseto COVID-19 along with disease severity was observed in monocytes,in terms of cellular composition,transcriptional discrepancy and transcription factor regulatory network.Furthermore,we identified immune cell-type dependent cytokine signatures distinguishing the severity of COVID-19 patients.In addition,cell interactions between CD8 effector T/NK cells and monocytes mediated by inflammatory cytokines were enhanced in moderate and severe stages,but weakened in critical cases.Collectively,our work uncovers the cellular and molecular players underlying the disordered and heterogeneous immune responses associated with COVID-19 severity,which could provide valuable insights for the treatment of critical COVID-19 patients.Xiaowei Xie Xuelian Cheng Gaoxiang Wang Biao Zhang Mengyao Liu Liting Chen Hui Cheng Sha Hao Jianfeng Zhou Ping Zhu Tao Cheng 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,10:3

11Entanglement transfer from two-mode squeezed vacuum light to spatially separated mechanical oscillators via dissipative optomechanical coupling显示文摘In this paper, we propose a scheme to generate an entangled state between two spatially separated movable mirrors by injecting the two-mode squeezed optical reservoir to the dissipative optomechanics, in which the movable mirrors can modulate the linewidth of the cavity modes. When the coupling between the mirrors and the corresponding cavity modes is weak, the two driven cavity fields can respectively behave as the squeezed-vacuum reservoir for the two movable mirrors by utilizing the effect of completely destructive interference of quantum noise. Thus the mechanical modes are prepared in a two-mode squeezed vacuum state. 14A spatial attentive and temporal dilated(SATD)GCN for skeleton-based action recognition显示文摘Current studies have shown that the spatial-temporal graph convolutional network(STGCN)is effective for skeleton-based action recognition.However,for the existing STGCN-based methods,their temporal kernel size is usually fixed over all layers,which makes them cannot fully exploit the temporal dependency between discontinuous frames and different sequence lengths.Besides,most of these methods use average pooling to obtain global graph feature from vertex features,resulting in losing much fine-grained information for action classification.To address these issues,in this work,the authors propose a novel spatial attentive and temporal dilated graph convolutional network(SATD-GCN).It contains two important components,that is,a spatial attention pooling module(SAP)and a temporal dilated graph convolution module(TDGC).Specifically,the SAP module can select the human body joints which are beneficial for action recognition by a self-attention mechanism and alleviates the influence of data redundancy and noise.The TDGC module can effectively extract the temporal features at different time scales,which is useful to improve the temporal perception field and enhance the robustness of the model to different motion speed and sequence length.Importantly,both the SAP module and the TDGC module can be easily integrated into the ST-GCN-based models,and significantly improve their performance.Extensive experiments on two large-scale benchmark datasets,that is,NTU-RGB+D and Kinetics-Skeleton,demonstrate that the authors’method achieves the state-of-the-art performance for skeleton-based action recognition.Jiaxu Zhang Gaoxiang Ye Zhigang Tu Yongtao Qin Qianqing Qin Jinlu Zhang Jun Liu 2022CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2022,7,1:3
15Decomposition characteristics of toluene by a corona radical shower system显示文摘Non-thermal plasma technologies offer an innovative approach to decomposing various volatile organic compounds(VOCs). The decomposition of toluene from simulated flue gas was investigated using a pipe electrode with nozzles for the generation of free radicals. Corona characteristics and decomposition of toluene were investigated experimentally. In addition, the decomposition mechanism of toluene was explored in view of reaction rate. The experimental results showed that the humidity of additional gas has an important effect on corona characteristics and modes and stable streamer corona can be generated through optimizing flow rate and humidity of additional gas. Applied voltage, concentration of toluene, humidity of toluene and resident time are some important factors affecting decomposition efficiency. Under optimizing conditions, the decomposition efficiency of toluene can reach 80%. 17Design of nanofluid-cooled heat sink using topology optimization显示文摘The paper presented topology optimization of 2 D and 3 D Nanofluid-Cooled Heat Sink(NCHS). The flow and heat transfer problem in the NCHS was treated as a single-phase nanofluid based convective heat transfer model. The temperature-dependent fluid properties were taken into account in the model due to the strong temperature-dependent features of nanofluids. An average temperature minimum problem was studied subject to the fluid area and energy dissipation constraints by using the density method. In the method, the design variable is updated according to the gradient information obtained by an adjoint based sensitivity analysis process. The effects of the energy dissipation constraint, temperature-dependent fluid properties and nanofluid characteristics on optimal configurations of NCHS were numerically investigated with following conclusions.Firstly, branched flow channels in the optimal configuration increased with the rise of the allowed energy dissipation. Secondly, temperature-dependent fluid properties were significant for obtaining the appropriate optimal results with best cooling performance. Thirdly, heat transfer performances of optimal configurations were enhanced by reducing the nanoparticle diameter or increasing the nanoparticle volume fraction. 18Removal of NOx from flue gas with radical oxidation combined with chemical scrubber显示文摘In this paper, removal of NOx(namely DeNOx) from flue gas by radical injection combined with NaOH solution(26% by weight of NaOH in water) scrubbing was investigated. The experimental results showed that the steady streamer corona occurs through adjusting the flow rate of the oxygen fed into the nozzles electrode. The vapor in the oxygen has influence on the V I characteristics of corona discharge. Both HNO 2 and HNO 3 come into being in the plasma reactor and the DeNOx efficiency in the plasma reactor is more than 60%. 19Rice(Oryza sativa L.)seedlings enriched with zinc or manganese:Their impacts on cadmium accumulation and expression of related genes显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)contamination in paddy soils means that the rice produced there may be unsafe for human consumption.A hydroponic study was conducted to enrich rice seedlings with zinc(Zn)or manganese(Mn),and the uptake and transport characteristics of Cd in these Zn-and Mn-rich seedlings were subsequently investigated using a greenhouse pot trial.The results showed that hydroponic cultivation in 10-50μmol L^(-1) Zn(ZnSO_(4)·7 H_(2)O)or50-250μmol L^(-1) Mn(MnSO_(4)·H_(2)O)for 30 d had no significant impact on rice growth,while the accumulation of Zn and Mn was 7.31-18.5 and 25.4-47.7 times higher,respectively,than in the control(no Zn or Mn addition).The accumulation of Cd in the Zn-and Mn-rich rice plants was 26.3%-38.6% and 34.4%-44.5% lower than that in the control,respectively,and the translocation factors of Cd from roots to shoots also decreased by 23.3%-41.3% and 25.3%-37.0%,respectively,after transplanting to Cd-contaminated soils.Furthermore,the relative expression levels of OsIRT1(Oryza sativa iron-regulated transporter 1)were downregulated by 40.1%-59.3% and 16.0%-25.9%,respectively,in the Zn-and Mn-rich seedling roots.This downregulation may indicate a possible mechanism contributing to the reductions in Cd absorption.Field experiments confirmed that the Zn-and Mn-rich seedlings produced brown rice(unpolished rice grains)with significantly decreased concentrations of Cd(34.2%-44.4%).This study provides an innovative method for reducing the food safety risks from rice grown on slightly to moderately Cd-contaminated paddy soils.Gaoxiang HUANG Changfeng DING Yibing MA Yurong WANG Zhigao ZHOU Shun'an ZHENG Xingxiang WANG 2021Pedosphere2021,31,6:2
20Protein C receptor is a therapeutic stem cell target in a distinct group of breast cancers显示文摘Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease.In particular,triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)comprises various molecular subgroups with unclear identities and currently has few targeted treatment options.Our previous study identified protein C receptor(Procr)as a surface marker on mammary stem cells(MaSCs)located in the basal layer of the normal mammary gland.Given the possible connection of TNBC with basal layer stem cells,we conducted comparative analyses of Procr in breast cancers of mouse and human origin.In mouse mammary tumors,we showed that Procr+cells are enriched for cancer stem cells(CSCs)in Wnt1 basal-like tumors,but not in Brea basal-like tumors or PyVT luminal tumors.In human cancers,PROCR was robustly expressed in half of TNBC cases.Experiments with patient-derived xenografts(PDXs)revealed that PROCR marks CSCs in this discrete subgroup(referred to as PROCR+TNBC).Interfering with the function of PROCR using an inhibitory nanobody reduced the CSC numbers,arrested tumor growth and prevented rapid tumor recurrence.Our data suggest a key role of MaSC in breast tumorigenesis.Moreover,our work indicates that PROCR can be used as a biomarker to stratify TNBC into clinically relevant subgroups and may provide a novel targeted treatment strategy for this clinically important tumor subtype.Daisong Wang Xin Hu Chunye Liu Yingying Jia Yiqin Bai Cheguo Cai Jingqiang Wang Lanyue Bai Ruikai Yang ChangDong Lin Yi-Rong Liu Shan Li Feng Qiao Ling Yao Li Chen Gaoxiang Ge Hai Jiang Dianfan Li Lin Li JianFeng Chen Zhi-Ming Shao Yi Arial Zeng 2019Cell Research2019,29,10:2
