| 2 | Landscape Ecology:Coupling of Pattern,Process,and Scale显示文摘Landscape ecology provides new theoretical frameworks and methodologies for understanding complex ecological phenomena at multiple scales.Studies of landscape ecology focus on understanding the dynamics of eco-logical patterns and processes,and highlight the integration of multiple disciplines.In this paper,we discussed the problems and challenges that landscape ecology is currently facing,emphasizing the limitations of current methods used to describe dynamic landscape patterns and processes.We suggested that the focus should be on the integration of ground-based observation,mobile monitoring,transect survey,and remote-sensing monitoring,as well as improved coupling of experimental and model simulations.In addition,we outlined the research frontiers in landscape ecology,including scaling,integrated pattern and process modeling,and regional synthesis.Lastly,a brief review of pat-tern-process-scale coupling studies in China was provided.We concluded by pointing out that pattern-process-scale interactions,correlations between natural,economic,and social processes,and the coupling of human and natural systems will be major research areas in landscape ecology in the future. | FU Bojie LIANG Di LU Nan | 2011 | Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,4: | 24 |

| 8 | Hot workability characteristics of Rene88DT superalloy with directionally solidified microstructure显示文摘The hot deformation characteristics of Rene88 DT superalloy with directionally solidified microstructure produced by electroslag remelting continuous directionally solidification(ESR-CDSò) were studied in the temperature range of 1,040–1,140 °C and strain rate range of 0.001–1.000 s-1by hot compression tests. Flow curves for Rene88 DT alloy with initial directionally solidified(DS)microstructure exhibit pronounced peak stresses at the early stage of deformation followed by the occurrence of dynamic softening phenomenon. Rene88 DT alloy with DS microstructure shows higher flow peak stresses compared with HIPed P/M superalloy FGH4096, but the disparities in peak stresses between ESR-CDSed Rene88 DT and HIPed P/M superalloy FGH4096 reduce as temperature increases. The improvement of hot workability of DS alloy with columnar grains avoiding the maximum shear stress comes true. A hot deformation constitutive equation as a function of strain that describes the dependence of flow stress on strain rate and temperature is established. Hot deformation apparent activation energy(Q) varies not only with the strain rate and temperature but also with strain. The damping properties, thermal stability, mechanical properties and morphology of the grafted copolymer modified by glycidyl POSS were studied systematically. The results revealed that the incorporation of glycidyl POSS improved the damping performance evidently and broadened damping temperature range, especially when the glycidyl POSS content was0.2%–1%. At the same time, there was a slight increase in thermal stability with the increase of POSS content. The tensile properties changed with the change of the copolymer's Tg, decreased at low POSS contents and increased at high POSS contents. | 10 | Expression of long non-coding RNAs in complete transection spinal cord injury: a transcriptomic analysis显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)are abundantly expressed in the central nervous system and exert a critical role in gene regulation via multiple biological processes.To uncover the functional significance and molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs in spinal cord injury(SCI),the expression signatures of lncRNAs were profiled using RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)technology in a Sprague-Dawley rat model of the 10th thoracic vertebra complete transection SCI.Results showed that 116 of 14,802 detected lncRNAs were differentially expressed,among which 16—including eight up-regulated(H19,Vof16,Hmox2-ps1,LOC100910973,Ybx1-ps3,Nnat,Gcgr,LOC680254)and eight down-regulated(Rmrp,Terc,Ngrn,Ppp2r2b,Cox6a2,Rpl37a-ps1,LOC360231,Rpph1)—demonstrated fold changes>2 in response to transection SCI.A subset of these RNA-seq results was validated by quantitative real-time PCR.The levels of 821 mRNAs were also significantly altered post-SCI;592 mRNAs were up-regulated and 229 mRNAs were down-regulated by more than 2-fold.Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analyses showed that differentially expressed mRNAs were related to GO biological processes and molecular functions such as injury and inflammation response,wound repair,and apoptosis,and were significantly enriched in 15 KEGG pathways,including cell phagocytosis,tumor necrosis factor alpha pathway,and leukocyte migration.Our results reveal the expression profiles of lncRNAs and mRNAs in the rat spinal cord of a complete transection model,and these differentially expressed lncRNAs and mRNAs represent potential novel targets for SCI treatment.We suggest that lncRNAs may play an important role in the early immuno-inflammatory response after spinal cord injury.This study was approved by the Administration Committee of Experimental Animals,Guangdong Province,China. | Lu Ding Wen-Jin Fu Hong-Yan Di Xiao-Min Zhang Yu-Tian Lei Kang-Zhen Chen Tao Wang Hong-Fu Wu | 2020 | Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,8: | 8 |
| 11 | Crystalline Silica Promotes Rat Fibrocyte Differentiation in Vitro,and Fibrocytes Participate in Silicosis in Vivo显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Si O2 on fibrocytes and whether fibrocytes participate in silicosis in vivo. Methods A macrophagocyte(AM)/fibrocyte coculture system was established, and AMs were treated with 100 μg/mL SiO 2. Flow cytometry was used to detect the number of fibrocytes. Real‐time PCR was performed to measure the expression of collagen I, collagen III, and α‐SMA mR NA. The levels of collagen I, collagen III, and TGF‐β1 protein were determined by ELISA. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to measure α‐SMA protein expression. A rat silicosis model was induced by intratracheal instillation of SiO 2. Lung histopathological evaluation was conducted using HE and Masson's trichrome staining after 1 and 9 weeks. The number of fibrocytes in peripheral blood or lung tissue of rat was detected by flow cytometry. Double‐color immunofluorescence was applied to identify fibrocytes in the lung tissue. Results Peripheral blood monocytes were found to differentiate into fibrocytes in vitro in a time‐dependent manner, and exposure to crystalline silica might potentiate fibrocyte differentiation. In addition, fibrocytes were able to migrate from peripheral blood to the lung tissue, and the number of fibrocytes was increased after SiO 2 exposure. | 13 | Is routine drainage necessary after pancreaticoduodenectomy?显示文摘With the development of imaging technology and surgical techniques, pancreatic resections to treat pancreatic tumors, ampulla tumors, and other pancreatic diseases have increased. Pancreaticoduodenectomy, one type of pancreatic resection, is a complex surgery with the loss of pancreatic integrity and various anastomoses. Complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy such as pancreatic fistulas and anastomosis leakage are common and significantly associated with patient outcomes. Pancreatic fistula is one of the most important postoperative complications; this condition can cause intraperitoneal hemorrhage, septic shock, or even death. An effective way has not yet been found to avoid the occurrence of pancreatic fistula. In most medical centers, the frequency of pancreatic fistula has remained between 9% and 13%. The early detection and routine drainage of anastomotic fistulas, pancreatic fistulas, bleeding, or other intra-abdominal fluid collections after pancreatic resections are considered as important and effective ways to reduce postoperative complications and the mortality rate. However, many recent studies have argued that routine drainage after abdominal operations, including pancreaticoduodenectomies, does not affect the incidence of postoperative complications. Although inserting drains after pancreatic resectionscontinues to be a routine procedure, its necessity remains controversial. | 14 | Accuracy of routine multidetector computed tomography to identify arterial variants in patients scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy显示文摘AIM:To assess the efficacy of cross-sectional multidetector computed tomography(MDCT) imaging without arterialreconstruction to identify aberrant right hepatic artery(RHA) and celiac artery stenosis(CAS) in patients scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy.METHODS:Patients with peri-ampullary and pancreatic head tumors who underwent routine preoperative MDCT and subsequent computed tomography(CT) angiography(CTA),conventional angiography or pancreaticoduodenectomy between September 2007 and August 2013 were identified.Retrospective analysis of imaging data was undertaken using CTA,conventional angiographic and surgical findings as the reference standards.The accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV) and negative predictive value(NPV) of MDCT in evaluation of aberrant RHA and CAS were calculated.RESULTS:A group of 458 patients met the inclusion criteria of this study to detect aberrant RHA,and 181 cases were included to identify CAS.Fifty-four(11.8%) patients were confirmed to have aberrant RHA,while 12(6.6%) patients with CAS were demonstrated.MDCT yielded an accuracy of 98.5%,sensitivity of 96.3% and specificity of 98.8% in the detection of aberrant RHA.The sensitivity,specificity,PPV and NPV of MDCT for detecting CAS were 58.3%,98.2%,70% and 97.1%,respectively.CONCLUSION:Routine MDCT is recommended such that surgeons and radiologists be alerted to the importance of arterial variants on preoperative CT scans in patients scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy. | Feng Yang Yang Di Ji Li Xiao-Yi Wang Lie Yao Si-Jie Hao Yong-Jian Jiang Chen Jin De-Liang Fu | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,3: | 6 |
| 15 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 20 | The relationship between SPARC expression in primary tumor and metastatic lymph node of resected pancreatic cancer patients and patients' survival显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous researches in pancreatic cancer demonstrated a negative correlation between secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine(SPARC) expression in primary tumor and survival, but not for SPARC expression in lymph node. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the SPARC expression in various types of tissues and its impact on patients' prognosis.METHODS: The expression of SPARC was examined by immunohistochemistry in resected pancreatic cancer specimens. Kaplan-Meier analyses and Cox proportional hazards regression were applied to assess the mortality risk.RESULTS: A total of 222 tissue samples from 73 patients were collected to evaluate the SPARC expression, which included 73 paired primary tumor and adjacent normal tissues, 38 paired metastatic and normal lymph nodes. The proportion of positive SPARC expression in metastatic lymph node was high(32/38), whereas in normal lymph node it was negative(0/38). Positive SPARC expression in primary tumor cells was associated with a significantly decreased overall survival(P=0.007) and disease-free survival(P=0.003), whereas in other types of tissues it did not show a predictive role for prognosis.
