| 2 | Biodegradation of organochlorine pesticide endosulfan by bacterial strain Alcaligenes faecalis JBW4显示文摘The recently discovered endosulfan-degrading bacterial strain Alcaligenes faecalis JBW4 was isolated from activated sludge. This strain is able to use endosulfan as a carbon and energy source. The optimal conditions for the growth of strain JBW4 and for biodegradation by this strain were identified, and the metabolic products of endosulfan degradation were studied in detail. The maximum level of endosulfan biodegradation by strain JBW4 was obtained using broth at an initial pH of 7.0, an incubation temperature of 40°C and an endosulfan concentration of 100 mg/L. The concentration of endosulfan was determined by gas chromatography. Strain JBW4 was able to degrade 87.5% of α-endosulfan and 83.9% of β-endosulfan within 5 days. These degradation rates are much higher than the previously reported bacterial strains. Endosulfan diol and endosulfan lactone were the major metabolites detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; endosulfan sulfate, which is a persistent and toxic metabolite, was not detected. These results suggested that A. faecalis JBW4 degrades endosulfan via a non-oxidative pathway. The biodegradation of endosulfan by A. faecalis is reported for the first time. | 4 | Involvement of Protein Phosphorylation in Water Stress-induced Antioxidant Defense in Maize Leaves显示文摘Using pharmacological and biochemical approaches,the role of protein phosphorylation and the interrelationship between water stress-enhanced kinase activity,antioxidant enzyme activity,hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) accumulation and endogenous abscisic acid in maize(Zea mays L.) leaves were investigated.Water-stress upregulated the activities of total protein phosphorylation and Ca2+-dependent protein kinase,and the upregulation was blocked in abscisic acid-deficient vp5 mutant.Furthermore,pretreatments with a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase inhibitor and a scavenger of H2O2 significantly reduced the increased activities of total protein kinase and Ca2+-dependent protein kinase in maize leaves exposed to water stress.Pretreatments with different protein kinase inhibitors also reduced the water stress-induced H2O2 production and the water stress-enhanced activities of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase,catalase,ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase.The data suggest that protein phosphorylation and H2O2 generation are required for water stress-induced antioxidant defense in maize leaves and that crosstalk between protein phosphorylation and H2O2 generation may occur. | Shucheng Xu Haidong Ding Fengxia Su Aying Zhang Mingyi Jiang | 2009 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,7: | 2 |

| 6 | In vivo and in vitro development of Tibetan antelope(Pantholops hodgsonii)interspecific cloned embryos显示文摘The Tibetan antelope is endemic to the Tibetan Plateau,China,and is now considered an endangered species.As a possible rescue strategy,the development of embryos constructed by interspecies somatic cell nuclear transfer(iSCNT)was examined.Tibetan antelope fibroblast cells were transferred into enucleated bovine,ovine and caprine oocytes.These cloned embryos were then cultured in vitro or in the oviducts of intermediate animals.Less than 0.5%of the reconstructed antelope-bovine embryos cultured in vitro developed to the blastocyst stage.However,when the cloned antelope-bovine embryos were transferred to caprine oviducts,about 1.6%of the embryos developed to the blastocyst stage.In contrast,only 0.7%of the antelope-ovine embryos developed to the morula stage and none developed to blastocysts in ovine oviducts.The treatment of donor cells and bovine oocytes with trichostatin A did not improve the embryo development even when cultured in the oviducts of ovine and caprine.When the antelope-bovine embryos,constructed from oocytes treated with roscovitine or trichostatin A,were cultured in rabbit oviducts 2.3%and 14.3%developed to blastocysts,respectively.It is concluded that although some success was achieved with the protocols used,interspecies cloning of Tibetan antelope presents difficulties still to be overcome.The mechanisms resulting in the low embryo development need investigation and progress might require a deeper understanding of cellular reprogramming. | Guanghua SU Lei CHENG Yu GAO Kun LIU Zhuying WEI Chunling BAI Fengxia YIN Li GAO Guangpeng LI Shorgan BOU | 2014 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2014,1,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Incidence of Major Adverse Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Events in Chinese Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Iodixanol: An Observational Postauthorization Study显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events(MACCEs)and overall safety profile associated with iodixanol in Chinese patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods:Patients at 30 centers in China registered in the OpenClinic v3.6 database from October 30,2013,to October 7,2015,were included in the study.The primary endpoint was in-hospital MACCEs including target lesion revascularization(TLR),stroke,stent thrombosis,cardiac death,and PCI-related myocardial infarction(MI)within 72 h post-PCI.Secondary endpoints were MACCEs from 72 h to 30 d post-PCI and other safety events within 30 d post-PCI.Results:A total of 3,042 patients were enrolled.The incidence of MACCEs within 72 h post-PCI was 2.33%(n=71),including cardiac death(0.03%,n=1)and PCI-related MI(2.30%,n=70).The incidence of MACCEs from 72 h to 30 d post-PCI was 0.16%(n=5),including cardiac death(0.10%,n=3),PCI-related MI(0.03%,n=1),and TLR for stent thrombosis(0.03%,n=1).The incidence of composite angiographic or procedural complications was 2.86%(n=87);233(7.86%)patients had results suggesting contrast-induced acute kidney injury.Conclusions:These findings indicate that the use of iodixanol in Chinese patients undergoing PCI is associated with a low incidence of MACCEs,confirming its safety in this population. | Xiaozeng Wang Dengfeng Ma Tianchang Li Bao Li Xi Su Yanqing Wu Zhimin Du Zheng Ji Ping Yang Baisong Yang Xuebin Cao Junxia Li Fengxia Hou Ziping Cheng Banglong Xu Yaling Han | 2023 | Cardiology Discovery2023,3,2: | 0 |
