| 1 | lncRNA NEAT1 promotes the Taxol resistance of breast cancer via sponging the miR-23a-3p-FOXA1 axis显示文摘Breast cancer is the most prevalent malignancy among women worldwide.Paclitaxel(Taxol)is a widely applied chemotherapeutic agent against breast cancer.Although Taxol therapy has achieved improvements recently,development of chemoresistance of breast cancer patients is a major obstacle,leading to therapeutic failure.Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)play pivotal roles in tumorigenesis and progresses of breast cancer.However,the biological roles and molecular targets of lncRNA NEAT1 in Taxol-resistant breast cancer remain unclear.Here,we report that NEAT1 is significantly upregulated in breast tumors and cell lines.In addition,silencing NEAT1 effectively sensitizes breast cancer cells to Taxol.Bioinformatical analysis and luciferase assay demonstrated that miR-23a-3p could be sponged and downregulated by NEAT1.We demonstrated that miR-23a-3p was downregulated and functioned as a tumor suppressor in breast cancer.Furthermore,in the established Taxol-resistant MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line,we detected significantly increased NEAT1 expression and downregulated miR-23a-3p expression.Importantly,FOXA1 was identified and validated as a direct target of miR-23a-3p in breast cancer cells.Rescue experiments demonstrated that the restoration of miR-23a-3p in NEAT1-overexpressing Taxol-resistant breast cancer cells successfully overcame the NEAT1-promoted Taxol resistance.Taken together,our results revealed the clinical roles and molecular mechanisms for the NEAT1-mediated chemoresistance,providing new insights into the development of non-coding RNA-based therapeutic strategies for enhancing the anti-cancer effects of traditional chemotherapeutic drugs. | Lin Zhu Fengchun Wang Wenhui Fan Zhi Jin Chao Teng Jianxin Zhang | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,9: | 7 |
| 2 | Three-Dimensional TIN Algorithm for Digital Terrain Modeling显示文摘The problem of taking an unorganized point cloud in 3D space and fitting a polyhedral surface to those points is both important and difficult. Aiming at increasing applications of full three dimensional digital terrain surface modeling, a new algorithm for the automatic generation of three dimensional triangulated irregular network from a point cloud is pro- posed. Based on the local topological consistency test, a combined algorithm of constrained 3D Delaunay triangulation and region-growing is extended to ensure topologically correct reconstruction. This paper also introduced an efficient neighbor- ing triangle location method by making full use of the surface normal information. Experimental results prove that this algo- rithm can efficiently obtain the most reasonable reconstructed mesh surface with arbitrary topology, wherein the automati- cally reconstructed surface has only small topological difference from the true surface. | 3 | Use of infrared thermal imaging to diagnose health of Ammopiptanthus mongolicus in northwestern China显示文摘Population of the rare and endangered species Ammopiptanthus mongolicus(Maxim.) Cheng f. declined rapidly in China's arid region and Central Asia. There is an urgent need to protect this species, which is particularly important in maintaining biodiversity throughout the arid region of northwestern China. By analyzing the infrared thermal images based on plant-transpiration transfer coefficient(h_at) and photosynthetic parameters, we made quantitative and accurate diagnoses of the plant growth and health status of A. mongolicus. Using an LI-COR6400 photosynthesis system, we measured the net photosynthetic rate(P_n), stomatal conductance(G_s), and transpiration rate(T_r). Infrared thermal images obtained in the field were processed by ENVI4.8 software to calculate surface temperatures of the plant subjects. We found that the plant transpiration transfer coefficient of A. mongolicus was in the order of old plants [young plants [intermediate-aged plants. Declining health levels of young, intermediate, and old plants were divided into three categories:\0.4, 0.4–0.7,and [0.7. The coefficient showed a significant negative correlation with T_r, G_s, and P_n, indicating that they can simultaneously reflect the state of plant growth. | 6 | The five major autoimmune diseases increase the risk of cancer:epidemiological data froma large-scale cohort study in China显示文摘Background:Cancer incidence and mortality have received critical attention during the long-term management of morbidities in patients with autoimmune diseases(AIDs).This study aimed to investigate and compare the risk of cancer associated with five major AIDs in a large-scale Chinese cohort.Methods:A total of 8,120 AID patients consecutively admitted to a national tertiary referral center in China were included and followed-up for 38,726.55 patient-years,including those with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),rheumatoid arthritis(RA),Sjoren’s syndrome(SS),systemic scleroderma(SSc),and idiopathic inflammatory myositis(IIM).Demographic data,cancer incidence,predilecting sites and cancer onset time were recorded and compared among the five AIDs.Results:Four hundred and thirty(5.3%)patients developed cancer.Their median agewas 57.5 years and AID durationwas 79.8 months.The estimated total standardized incidence ratio(SIR)of cancer in AIDs patients was 3.37,with the highest SIR observed in IIM(4.31),followed by RA(3.99),SSc(3.77),SS(2.88)and SLE(2.58).The increased SIR of cancers in AID patients showed a female predominance(female vs.male:3.59 vs.2.77)and younger patient involvement(age<50 vs.≥50 years:4.88 vs.3.04).Patientswith SLE had increased SIRs for developing hematologic malignancies and solid tumors located in the urinary bladder,corpus uteri and cervix uteri.Patients with SS had a significantly high SIR for developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.Within 3 years of IIM diagnosis,74.6%of the patients developed cancer and they had a high risk of ovarian cancer.RA was associated with a wide distribution of scancers,including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,gynecologic,urinary tract,thyroid gland and lung cancers.SSc patients had increased SIRs for developing cervical uterine,lung,and breast cancers.Conclusion:Patients with five major AIDs in China had an increased risk of developing cancer,with a predominance in women and younger patients,although cancer incidence,predilection sites and cancer onset time may vary greatly in each AID entity. | Ziyue Zhou Huazhen Liu Yiying Yang Jingya Zhou Lidan Zhao Hua Chen Yunyun Fei Wen Zhang Mengtao Li Yan Zhao Xiaofeng Zeng Fengchun Zhang Huaxia Yang Xuan Zhang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,5: | 4 |

| 12 | The impact of biofuel plantation on biodiversity: a review显示文摘Because plants convert solar energy into chemical energy stored in organisms, biomass production as an energy source can help to reduce the world's reliance on fossil energy and mitigate global warming. Biofuel production is a fast-growing industry that represents a new type of large-scale human disturbance on ecosystems. Thus, the benefits of biofuel production bring environmental risks that include its potential impact on biodiversity, which is still an open question. In this review, we start first with a brief overview of the evolution of biofuel concept; second, we review the state of biofuel production across the continents,with a major emphasis on the main species used and their major feedstock. For which, we found significant differences for land use and environmental cultural management of biofuel plantation between tropical and temperate regions.Third, we summarize the impacts of biofuel plantation on biodiversity at multiple scales, based on the case studied with respect to the corresponding issues. At the genetic level,introgression and contamination by aggressive genotypes are a primary risk. At the species level, habitat pollution, degradation, and disturbance caused by intensive managementof biofuel plantation significantly raise the risk of habitat fragmentation, native extinction, and bio-invasion. At the ecosystem level, the large-scale homogeneous landscape of biofuel plantation results in simplified community and food web that severely damage ecosystem services, including ecosystem diversity. Finally, we compare the current and potential benefits and risks of biofuel plantations for the practical application of a biofuel industry of China. | 13 | Analysis of the Stability and Mechanical Characteristics of the Jointed Surrounding Rock and Lining Structure of a Deeply Buried Hydraulic Tunnel显示文摘On-site monitoring and numerical simulation have been combined to analyze the stability of the jointed surrounding rock and the stress inside the lining structure of a sample deeply buried hydraulic tunnel.We show that the deformation around the tunnel was mainly concentrated in the range 51.37 mm∼66.73 mm,the tunnel circumference was dominated by shear failure,and the maximum plastic zone was about 3.90 m.When the shotcrete treatment was performed immediately after the excavation,the deformation of the surrounding rock was reduced by 58.94%∼76.31%,and the extension of the plastic zone was relatively limited,thereby leading to improvements in terms of the stability of surrounding rock.When the support was provided at different time points,the stress of the surrounding rock in the shallow part of the tunnel was improved everywhere.In the tunnel section with high ground stress and joint development,when 10 cm steel fiber concrete spray layer and 40 cm C25 concrete secondary lining were used,the maximum tensile stress on the lining structure was 0.89 MPa,i.e.,it was less than the tensile strength of concrete,which indicates that the internal force of the lining can meet the overall requirements. | Changchang Li Zuguo Mo Haibo Jiang Fengchun Yang | 2022 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2022,18,1: | 2 |

| 15 | Numerical Investigation of Transient Temperature Distribution during Ti-6Al-4V Selective Laser Melting显示文摘The transient temperature field in the powder bed has a crucial effect on the quality of parts fabricated using Selective Laser Melting(SLM). In this study, a finite element model is established regarding the variance of temperature-dependent thermal properties and transformation latent heat. The temperature distribution and melt pool dimensions of a laser scan track were obtained by varying multiple parameters(layer thickness, laser power and scan speed). The effects of transition of material state and heat source model are also analyzed in this paper. The finite element simulation results show that an increased laser power and/or decreased scan speed results in an elevated maximum temperature of the powder layer and a larger melt pool size. Furthermore, it is found that the maximum temperature is significantly lowered due to the heat diffusion into the previous sintered zone.
