1Disassembly of the fruit cell wall by the ripening-associated polygalacturonase and expansin influences tomato cracking显示文摘Fruit cracking is an important problem in horticultural crop production.Polygalacturonase(SlPG)and expansin(SlEXP1)proteins cooperatively disassemble the polysaccharide network of tomato fruit cell walls during ripening and thereby,enable softening.A Golden 2-like(GLK2)transcription factor,SlGLK2 regulates unripe fruit chloroplast development and results in elevated soluble solids and carotenoids in ripe fruit.To determine whether SlPG,SlEXP1,or SlGLK2 influence the rate of tomato fruit cracking,the incidence of fruit epidermal cracking was compared between wild-type,Ailsa Craig(WT)and fruit with suppressed SlPG and SlEXP1 expression(pg/exp)or expressing a truncated nonfunctional Slglk2(glk2).Treating plants with exogenous ABA increases xylemic flow into fruit.Our results showed that ABA treatment of tomato plants greatly increased cracking of fruit from WT and glk2 mutant,but not from pg/exp genotypes.The pg/exp fruit were firmer,had higher total soluble solids,denser cell walls and thicker cuticles than fruit of the other genotypes.Fruit from the ABA treated pg/exp fruit had cell walls with less water-soluble and more ionically and covalently-bound pectins than fruit from the other lines,demonstrating that ripening-related disassembly of the fruit cell wall,but not elimination of SlGLK2,influences cracking.Cracking incidence was significantly correlated with cell wall and wax thickness,and the content of cell wall protopectin and cellulose,but not with Ca^(2+)content.Fangling Jiang Alfonso Lopez Shinjae Jeon Sergio Tonetto de Freitas Qinghui Yu Zhen Wu John M.Labavitch Shengke Tian Ann L.T.Powell Elizabeth Mitcham 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:13
2ETME,a novel β-elemene derivative,synergizes with arsenic trioxide in inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in hepatocarcinoma cells via a p53-dependent pathway显示文摘Arsenic trioxide(ATO)has been identified as an effective treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)but is much less effective against solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In the search for ways to enhance its therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors,we have examined its use in combination with a novel derivative ofβ-elemene,N-(β-elemene-13-yl)tryptophan methyl ester(ETME).Here we report the effects of the combination on cell viability,apoptosis,the cell cycle and mitochondria membrane potential(MMP)in HCC SMMC-7721 cells.We found that the two compounds acted synergistically to enhance antiproliferative activity and apoptosis.The combination also decreased the MMP,down-regulated Bcl-2 and pro-proteins of the caspase family,and up-regulated Bax and BID,all of which were reversed by the p53 inhibitor,pifithrin-α.In addition,the combination induced cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and reduced tumor volume and weight in an xenograft model of nude mice.Overall,the results suggest that ETME in combination with ATO may be useful in the treatment of HCC patients particularly those unresponsive to ATO alone.Zhiying Yu Fangling Wu Liang Chen Qian Li Chaojie Wang Jinhua Dong Song-qiang Xie 2014Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,6:7

4Ecological Environment Conservation and Restoration and Sustainable Development of Minqin Oasis显示文摘Minqin oasis in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River is a main natural barrier for the Wuwei Basin. Due to the combined influence of human activities and natural factors in the past half a century, water quality in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River decreased and ecological environment deteriorated, which influenced sustainable development of this area and surrounding area seriously. This paper analyzed current situation and reasons of the deteriorated ecological environment in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River, and proposed that water environment regulation was the primary task in the eco-environment control of Minqin area, specifically,(a) By using existing policies, accelerating the construction of water-saving agriculture in the middle reaches of the Shiyang River, water quantity in the lower reaches would be guanranted, water shortage for agricultural production and ecological use in Minqin oasis would be relieved;(b) Unreasonable human activities such as overexploitation of underground water should be controlled strictly;(c) Water conservancy project should be developed vigorously to ensure rate of flow. 5Economy Analysis of Flexible LCC-HVDC Systems with Controllable Capacitors显示文摘Commutation failure(CF)is a frequent dynamic event at inverter of LCC-HVDC systems caused by AC side faults which can lead to inverter blocking,interruption of active power transfer,and even system blackout.To eliminate CFs and improve system performance,new Flexible LCC-HVDC topologies have been proposed in previous research but with limited analysis on its economic performance.Therefore,to further validate the applicability of Flexible LCC-HVDC topologies,this paper utilizes Life-Cycle Cost Analysis model to analyze the life-cycle cost of inverter stations for conventional LCCHVDC,Capacitor Commutated Converter based HVDC(CCCHVDC)topology and Flexible LCC-HVDC topologies including Controllable Capacitor based Flexible LCC-HVDC,AC Filterless Controllable Capacitor based Flexible LCC-HVDC and improved Flexible LCC-HVDC.Through a case study based on a 500 kV,1000 MW LCC-HVDC scheme,comparison results show that the AC Filterless Controllable Capacitor based Flexible LCCHVDC topology and the improved Flexible LCC-HVDC topology have lower cost than the conventional LCC-HVDC and CCCHVDC topologies,which proves that the elimination of CFs can be achieved with reduced cost.Nan Chen Kunpeng Zha Haitao Qu Fangling Li Ying Xue Xiao-Ping Zhang 2022CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2022,8,6:2
6Facile one-pot emulsion/sol-gel method for preparing wrinkled silica microspheres显示文摘The present manuscript describes a facile and versatile method for preparing uniform wrinkled silica microspheres with diameters of tens of microns.The method comprises a one-pot emulsion/sol-gel method using silica precursors of organosilane and tetraethoxysilane.By controlling the sol-to-gel transition of the silica precursors,a series of silica microspheres based on uniform emulsion droplets was synthesized by membrane emulsification.The silica microspheres had a variety of surface morphologies ranging from smooth,maze-like wrinkles to polygon-like ravines.It was possible to alter the surface morphologies of the microspheres by controlling the amount of organosilane in the dispersed phase and the amount of ammonia catalyst in the continuous phase of the emulsion.The grooves on the wrinkled microspheres were able to trap polymer nanoparticles of matching size,thereby demonstrating the potential usefulness of the microspheres in separation science and drug delivery.Yuning Hu Dongxia Hao Fangling Gong Yuanyuan Gao Xingran Yan Guanghui Ma 2021Particuology2021,19,3:2
7Study and Implementation of a New SQL-Based ETL Approach显示文摘This paper analyzes the main characteristics,benefits,and disadvantages of existing traditional ETL(extraction,trans-formation,loading) methods,and summaries some factors affect-ing the performance of ETL tools. Then,a new ETL approach,E-LT(extraction,loading and transformation) ,is proposed. The E-LT approach applies database mapping technique to realize that loading stage and transformation stage in the ETL process are performed at the same time after the extraction stage. Thus,it can use SQL commands to complete loading and transformation proc-essing,and eliminates the staging area before loading in traditional ETL process. The framework of an ETL engine based on E-LT method is presented. The ETL process including initial loading and incremental refreshment is discussed in detail,and the SQL-based algorithm for initial loading is presented. The per-formance of E-LT method on loading throughout outperforms some commercial ETL approaches by experimental proof and theoretical analysis. 8Bioactivated in vivo assembly(BIVA)peptide-tetraphenylethylene(TPE)probe with controllable assembled nanostructure for cell imaging显示文摘The emergence of fluorescent light-up molecular probe,which can specifically turn on their fluorescent in the presence of stimulation factors,has open up a new opportunity to advance biosensing and bioimaging.In this work,we designed and synthesized a peptide-AIE conjugate probe for cell imaging with controlled in situ assembled nanostructures.The modular designed probe is consisted of a selfassembled peptide-tetraphenylethene(TPE)motif,a fibroblast activation protein alpha(FAP-α)responsive motif,a hydrophilic motif and a targeting motif.The probe exhibits typically turn-on fluorescence property specifically triggered by FAP-α,which is a significant overexpressed membrane protein on pancreatic tumor cells.Interestingly,the peptide modified the TPE dramatically impacts the assembled nanostructure,which can be modulated by peptide sequences.As a result,the peptide FF(PhePhe)modification of TPE as the self-assembled motif provides a suitable balance of the probe with lightup property and nanofiber assembled structure in situ.Finally,our probe could effectively detect the FAP-αon tumor cells with high specificity.Meantime,the nanofibers in situ assembled on the surface of CAFs enhanced the probe accumulation and prolonged the retention for cell imaging.We envision that this study may inspire new insights into the design of nanostructure controlled AIE light-up bio-probe.Shizhao Lu Xiaoyan Guo Fangling Zhang Xiaodong Li Meishuai Zou Li-Li Li 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,6:2
9Hydrogen-assisted scalable preparation of ultrathin Pt shells onto surfactant-free and uniform Pd nanoparticles for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction in practical fuel cells显示文摘Concentrating active Pt atoms in the outer layers of electrocatalysts is a very effective approach to greatly reduce the Pt loading without compromising the electrocatalytic performance and the total electrochemically active surface area(ECSA)for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in hydrogen-based proton-exchange membrane fuel cells.Accordingly,a facile,low-cost,and hydrogen-assisted two-step method is developed in this work,to massively prepare carbon-supported uniform,small-sized,and surfactant-free Pd nanoparticles(NPs)with ultrathin~3-atomic-layer Pt shells(Pd@Pt_(3L) NPs/C).Comprehensive physicochemical characterizations,electrochemical analyses,fuel cell tests,and density functional theory calculations reveal that,benefiting from the ultrathin Pt-shell nanostructure as well as the resulting ligand and geometric effects,Pd@Pt_(3L) NPs/C exhibits not only significantly enhanced ECSA,electrocatalytic activity,and noble-metal(NM)utilization compared to commercial Pt/C,showing 81.24 m^(2)/gPt,0.710 mA/cm^(2),and 352/577 mA/mgNM/Pt in ECSA,area-,and NM-/Pt-mass-specific activity,respectively;but also a much better electrochemical stability during the 10,000-cycle accelerated degradation test.More importantly,the corresponding 25-cm^(2) H2-air/O_(2) fuel cell with the low cathodic Pt loading of~0.152 mgPt/cm^(2)geo achieves the high power density of 0.962/1.261 W/cm^(2)geo at the current density of only 1,600 mA/cm^(2)geo,which is much higher than that for the commercial Pt/C.This work not only develops a high-performance and practical Pt-based ORR electrocatalyst,but also provides a scalable preparation method for fabricating the ultrathin Pt-shell nanostructure,which can be further expanded to other metal shells for other energy-conversion applications.Liuxuan Luo Cehuang Fu Aiming Wu Zechao Zhuang Fengjuan Zhu Fangling Jiang Shuiyun Shen Xiyang Cai Qi Kang Zhifeng Zheng Chenyi Hu Jiewei Yin Guofeng Xia Junliang Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2

12An Electrochemical Synthesis Approach for Tetrasubstituted Olefins显示文摘Since tetrasubstituted olefins serve as the key structure motifs in a large number of biologically active compounds,methods for synthesis of tetrasubstituted olefins are highly desirable.Among various synthetic methodologies,the most known strategies are the functionalization of olefins,alkynes,and allenes.For example,Zhang,Gosselin and co-workers prepared a series of tetrasubstituted olefins via Suzuki-Miyaura coupling (Scheme 1a).[1] Morandi and co-workers reported a palladium-catalyzed intermolecular aryliodination of internal alkynes (Scheme 1b).[2] Ma and co-workers prepared a series of tetrasubstituted olefins by using readily available organozinc reagents and 2,3-allenals (Scheme 1c).[3] Despite extensive advances,the reported methods often require pre-prepared starting materials,inevitably leading to some by-products.Recently,under the supervision of Prof.Wang and Lei,we and Yang et al.reported an unprecedented electrochemical oxidative Csp3-H/S-H cross-coupling reaction between thiophenols and acetonitrile (Scheme 1d),yielding a series of tetrasubstituted olefins under exogenous-oxidant-free conditions.Fangling Lu Yong Yuan 2019Chinese Journal of Chemistry2019,37,7:2
