| 1 | ETME,a novel β-elemene derivative,synergizes with arsenic trioxide in inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in hepatocarcinoma cells via a p53-dependent pathway显示文摘Arsenic trioxide(ATO)has been identified as an effective treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)but is much less effective against solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In the search for ways to enhance its therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors,we have examined its use in combination with a novel derivative ofβ-elemene,N-(β-elemene-13-yl)tryptophan methyl ester(ETME).Here we report the effects of the combination on cell viability,apoptosis,the cell cycle and mitochondria membrane potential(MMP)in HCC SMMC-7721 cells.We found that the two compounds acted synergistically to enhance antiproliferative activity and apoptosis.The combination also decreased the MMP,down-regulated Bcl-2 and pro-proteins of the caspase family,and up-regulated Bax and BID,all of which were reversed by the p53 inhibitor,pifithrin-α.In addition,the combination induced cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and reduced tumor volume and weight in an xenograft model of nude mice.Overall,the results suggest that ETME in combination with ATO may be useful in the treatment of HCC patients particularly those unresponsive to ATO alone. | Zhiying Yu Fangling Wu Liang Chen Qian Li Chaojie Wang Jinhua Dong Song-qiang Xie | 2014 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,6: | 7 |
| 2 | Ecological Environment Conservation and Restoration and Sustainable Development of Minqin Oasis显示文摘Minqin oasis in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River is a main natural barrier for the Wuwei Basin. Due to the combined influence of human activities and natural factors in the past half a century, water quality in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River decreased and ecological environment deteriorated, which influenced sustainable development of this area and surrounding area seriously. This paper analyzed current situation and reasons of the deteriorated ecological environment in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River, and proposed that water environment regulation was the primary task in the eco-environment control of Minqin area, specifically,(a) By using existing policies, accelerating the construction of water-saving agriculture in the middle reaches of the Shiyang River, water quantity in the lower reaches would be guanranted, water shortage for agricultural production and ecological use in Minqin oasis would be relieved;(b) Unreasonable human activities such as overexploitation of underground water should be controlled strictly;(c) Water conservancy project should be developed vigorously to ensure rate of flow. | 4 | Bioactivated in vivo assembly(BIVA)peptide-tetraphenylethylene(TPE)probe with controllable assembled nanostructure for cell imaging显示文摘The emergence of fluorescent light-up molecular probe,which can specifically turn on their fluorescent in the presence of stimulation factors,has open up a new opportunity to advance biosensing and bioimaging.In this work,we designed and synthesized a peptide-AIE conjugate probe for cell imaging with controlled in situ assembled nanostructures.The modular designed probe is consisted of a selfassembled peptide-tetraphenylethene(TPE)motif,a fibroblast activation protein alpha(FAP-α)responsive motif,a hydrophilic motif and a targeting motif.The probe exhibits typically turn-on fluorescence property specifically triggered by FAP-α,which is a significant overexpressed membrane protein on pancreatic tumor cells.Interestingly,the peptide modified the TPE dramatically impacts the assembled nanostructure,which can be modulated by peptide sequences.As a result,the peptide FF(PhePhe)modification of TPE as the self-assembled motif provides a suitable balance of the probe with lightup property and nanofiber assembled structure in situ.Finally,our probe could effectively detect the FAP-αon tumor cells with high specificity.Meantime,the nanofibers in situ assembled on the surface of CAFs enhanced the probe accumulation and prolonged the retention for cell imaging.We envision that this study may inspire new insights into the design of nanostructure controlled AIE light-up bio-probe. | Shizhao Lu Xiaoyan Guo Fangling Zhang Xiaodong Li Meishuai Zou Li-Li Li | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,6: | 2 |

| 9 | The study on psychological resilience of tinnitus and associated influencing factors显示文摘The association between tinnitus and psychological resilience is an underdeveloped area of research.This cross-sectional study investigated such associations and factors potentially affecting resilience in 61 patients.Demographic and psychometric data were collected by questionnaires.The ConnoreDavidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Big Five Inventory(BFI)and Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)were completed by participants.Data were analyzed using independent t-test and Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple linear regression modeling.The CD-RISC score was relatively low(66.97±15.71),negatively correlated with tinnitus(r=0.276,p<0.001)and associated with age(r=0.270,P<0.001).As protective factors,SWLS(r=0.486,p<0.001),GSES(r=0.555,p<0.001),PSSS(r=0.538,p<0.001)and extraversion were positively correlated with CD-RISC and BFI scores(r=0.287,p<0.001).We also detected a negative correlation with neuroticism(r=0.395,p<0.001),which is a known risk factor for worse CD-RISC scores.Identifying protective and risk factors for psychological resilience can be used to predict treatment outcomes in tinnitus patients,which will help devise personalized solutions and improve patients'quality of life. | Feng Xin Qingfeng Li Fangling Guan Minli Suo Jie Yang Dan Li Changqing Zhao | 2022 | Journal of Otology2022,17,1: | 1 |

| 12 | Drug adulteration analysis based on complexation with cyclodextrin and metal ions using ion mobility spectrometry显示文摘Drug adulteration and contamination are serious threats to human health therefore,their accurate monitoring is very important.Allopurinol(Alp)and theophylline(Thp)are commonly used drugs for the treatment of gout and bronchitis,while their isomers hypoxanthine(Hyt)and theobromine(Thm)have no effect and affect the efficacy of the drug.In this work,the drug isomers of Alp/Hyt and Thp/Thm are simply mixed withα-,β-,γ-cyclodextrin(CD)and metal ions and separated using trapped ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry(TIMS-MS).TIMS-MS results showed that Alp/Hyt and Thp/Thm isomers could interact with CD and metal ions and form corresponding binary or ternary complexes to achieve their TIMS separation.Different metal ions and CDs showed different separation effect for the isomers,among which Alp and Hyt could be successfully distinguished from the complexes of[Alp/Hyt+γ-CD+Cu–H]^(+)with separation resolution(RP–P)of 1.51;whereas Thp and Thm could be baseline separated by[Thp/Thm+γ-CD+Ca–H]^(+)with RP–P of 1.96.Besides,chemical calculations revealed that the complexes were in the inclusion forms,and microscopic interactions were somewhat different,making their mobility separation.Moreover,relative and absolute quantification was investigated with an internal standard to determine the precise isomers content,and good linearity(R^(2)>0.99)was obtained.Finally,the method was applied for the adulteration detection where different drugs and urine were analyzed.In addition,due to the advantages of fast speed,simple operation,high sensitivity,and no chromatographic separation required,the proposed method provides an effective strategy for the drug adulteration detection of isomers. | Zhigang Liang Huanhuan Wang Fangling Wu Longfei Wang Chenwei Li Chuan-Fan Ding | 2023 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,3: | 0 |

| 14 | Conformation Changes of Enkephalin in Coordination with Pb^(2+) Investigated by Gas Phase Hydrogen/Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry Combined with Theoretical Calculations显示文摘In this study, the effects of lead ions(Pb^(2+)) on the conformations of leucine encephalin(LE) and methionine encephalin(ME) in gas phase were studied using hydrogen/deuterium exchange mass spectrometry(HDX-MS) and quantum chemistry theoretical calculations at the molecular level. The HDX-MS result revealed that the complexes with the monovalent compounds [LE+Pb–H]+ and [ME+Pb–H]+had a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio, and different HDX reactivates were observed in a follow of [ME+H]+>[LE+H]+>[LE+Pb–H]+> [ME+Pb–H]+. Combining the collision-induced dissociation energies of the complexes and their HDX results, it was found that the more stable the complex, the harder it was for HDX. In addition, the favo-rable conformations of the complexes were obtained by theoretical calculations, revealing that the similar coordination type with diffe-rent bond lengths was obtained. Then, the proton affinity(PA) values of the optimized complexes were calculated to interpret the HDX observations, indicating that the higher the PA values, the more difficult it was for HDX. Overall, the experiments and theoretical calculations revealed that Pb^(2+) could induce conformational changes of LE and ME, and generate ME into a more rigid conformation than LE. | 15 | Structural analysis of [Bmim]_2CuCl_4 ionic liquids in the presence of water and ethanol by XAFS technique显示文摘The structure of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4 ionic liquids(Bmim: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium) with different ratios of H2 O and C2H5 OH was investigated using X-ray absorption fine structure(XAFS) technique. In this study, XAFS was employed to directly probe the conformational variations of copper ions in [Bmim]2Cu Cl4 with the addition of either water or ethanol. XAFS analysis confirmed that the structure of ionic liquids gradually transformed from tetrahedral to octahedral configuration with the increase in ratio of H2 O. Our results also showed that water molecules coordinated with the copper ions of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4, leading to the conformational change in ionic liquids. However, the XAFS spectra of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4/C2H5 OH indicated no coordination of anhydrous ethanol with the copper ions of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4. The structure of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4 ionic liquids is maintained as the tetrahedral configuration in presence of ethanol.
