1-765G > C COX-2 polymorphism may be a susceptibility marker for gastric adenocarcinoma in patients with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia显示文摘AIM: To investigate the relationship between the -765G > C COX-2 polymorphism and the development of different gastric lesions: atrophy or intestinal metaplasia and gastric adenocarcinoma. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was performed involving 320 Portuguese individuals (210 without evidence of neoplastic disease, 73 patients with gastric adenocarcinomas and 37 with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia) using a PCR-RFLP method. RESULTS: -765C allele was overrepresented in the patients with gastric adenocarcinoma (51%) when compared either with the control group (38%) or patients with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia (27%). Callele was found to be very common in our population (0.22), and a multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed nearly 3-fold increased risk for the progression to gastric adenocarcinoma in patients with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia carrying the -765C allele (OR = 2.67, 95% CI = 1.03-6.93; P = 0.04).considered as another susceptibility marker for gastric adenocarcinoma development in patients with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia.Carina Pereira Hugo Sousa Paula Ferreira Maria Fragoso Luís Moreira-Dias Carlos Lopes Rui Medeiros Mário Dinis-Ribeiro 2006World Journal of Gastroenterology2006,12,34:16
2“徒手针刺影响健康人和中风后遗症患者肱二头肌功能的即时效果的平行随机对照试验”的研究方案(英文)显示文摘背景:中风作为一种疾病,中医早在2 000多年前即有诸多经典著作对其进行描述。然而,大部分有关针刺对中风后遗症患者功能恢复的疗效的临床对照试验未能得出针刺具有长期疗效的结论。并且,很多试验以表面肌电图测量患者骨骼肌的电活动以评定针刺刺激的即时疗效的结论也不一致。这些研究结果对针刺在神经肌肉水平的作用提出了质疑。本研究旨在比较徒手针刺影响健康人和中风后肌张力亢进患者的肱二头肌功能及力量的即时效果。方法与设计:本研究拟开展含有4个平行对照组的随机单盲临床试验。分别针刺健康受试者及中风后遗症痉挛性轻瘫患者的曲池(LI11)及天泉(PC2)2个穴位。表面肌电图测量针刺对于肌肉功能的即时疗效及肱二头肌的等长张力作为主要结局指标。次要结局指标包括每组中医证候的出现频率及频率分布。讨论:本研究的临床试验设计在方法学上较之前的类似试验有些改善。预计这一研究能够证实针刺刺激对健康人及中风后遗症患者的神经肌肉的作用。临床试验注册:巴西临床试验注册(www.ensaiosclinicos.gov.br,注册号为RBR-5g7xqh).Ana Paula de Sousa Fragoso Arthur de Sá Ferreira 2012中西医结合学报2012,10,3:8

5Functional specialization of Nicotiana attenuata phytochromes in leaf development and flowering time显示文摘Phytochromes mainly function in photoautotrophic organisms to adjust growth in response to fluctuating light signals.The different isoforms of plant phytochromes often display both conserved and divergent roles,presumably to fine-tune plant responses to environmental signals and optimize fitness.Here we describe the distinct,yet partially redundant,roles of phytochromes NaPHYA,NaPHYB1 and NaPHYBi in a wild tobacco species,Nicotiana attenuata using RNAi-silenced phytochrome lines.Consistent with results reported from other species,silencing the expression of NaPHYA or NaPHYBi in N.attenuata had mild or no influence on plant development as long as NaPHYBi was functional;whereas silencing the expression of NaPHYBi alone strongly altered flowering time and leaf morphology.The contribution of NaPHYB2 became significant only in the absence of NaPHYB1;plants silenced for both NaPHYBi and NaPHYB2 largely skipped the rosettestage of growth to rapidly produce long,slender stalks that bore flowers early:hallmarks of the shadeavoidance responses.The phenotyping of phytochrome-silenced lines,combined with sequence and transcript accumulation analysis,suggest the independent functional diversification of the phytochromes,and a dominant role of NaPHYBi and NaPHYB2 in N.attenuata's vegetative and reproductive development.Variluska Fragoso Youngjoo Oh Sang-Gyu Kim Klaus Gase Ian Thomas Baldwin 2017Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,3:4

7Circadian clock component, LHY, tells a plant when to respond photosynthetically to light in nature显示文摘The circadian clock is known to increase plant growth and fitness,and is thought to prepare plants for photosynthesis at dawn and dusk;whether this happens in nature was unknown. We transformed the native tobacco,Nicotiana attenuata to silence two core clock components,NaLHY(irLHY) and NaTOC_1(irTOC_1). We characterized growth and light-and dark-adapted photosynthetic rates(A_c) throughout a 24 h day in empty vector-transformed(EV),irLHY,and irTOC_1 plants in the field,and in NaPhy Aand NaPhy B1-silenced plants in the glasshouse. The growth rates of irLHY plants were lower than those of EV plants in the field. While irLHY plants reduced A_c earlier at dusk,no differences between irLHY and EV plants were observed at dawn in the field. irLHY,but not EV plants,responded tolight in the night by rapidly increasing A_c. Under controlled conditions,EV plants rapidly increased A_c in the day compared to dark-adapted plants at night;irLHY plants lost these time-dependent responses. The role of NaLHY in gating photosynthesis is independent of the light-dependent reactions and red light perceived by NaPhy A,but not NaPhyB_1. 8Association between EGF +61A/G polymorphism and gastric cancer in Caucasians显示文摘AIM: To investigate the association between epidermal growth factor (EGF) +61A/G polymorphism and susceptibility to gastric cancer, through a cross-sectional study. METHODS: Polymerase chain reaction resctriction fragment lenght polymorphism analyses were used to genotype EGF +61 in 207 patients with gastric lesions (162 patients with gastric adenocarcinomas, 45 with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia) and 984 controls. All subjects were Caucasian. RESULTS: Genotype distribution was 23.5% for GG and 76.5% for GA/AA in the control group, 18.4% for GG and 68.6% for GA/AA in the entire group with gastric lesions and 17.9% for GG and 82.1% for GA/AA in the group with gastric adenocarcinoma. No statistically significant associations were found between EGF +61 variants and risk for developing gastric cancer [odds ratios (OR) = 1.41, 95% confidence intervals (CI): 0.90-2.21, P = 0.116]. However, the stratification of individuals by gender revealed that males carrying A alleles (EGF +61A/G or AA) had an increased risk for developing gastric cancer as compared to GG homozygous males (OR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.05-2.28, P = 0.021). CONCLUSION: In summary, we found that males who were A carriers for EGF +61 had an increased risk for developing gastric cancer. 9Fungal diversity notes 367-490:taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa显示文摘This is a continuity of a series of taxonomic papers where materials are examined,described and novel combinations are proposed where necessary to improve our traditional species concepts and provide updates on their classification.In addition to extensive morphological descriptions and appropriate asexual and sexual connections,DNA sequence data are also analysed from concatenated datasets(rDNA,TEF-a,RBP2 and b-Tubulin)to infer phylogenetic relationships and substantiate systematic position of taxa within appropriate ranks.Wherever new species or combinations are being proposed,we apply an integrative approach(morphological and molecular data as well as ecological features wherever applicable).Notes on 125 fungal taxa are compiled in this paper,including eight new genera,101 new species,two new combinations,one neotype,four reference specimens,new host or distribution records for eight species and one alternative morphs.The new genera introduced in this paper are Alloarthopyrenia,Arundellina,Camarosporioides,Neomassaria,Neomassarina,Neotruncatella,Paracapsulospora and 10Neurological manifestations in Fabry disease显示文摘Fabry disease(FD)is a rare,progressive,multisystem and highly debilitating disease.FD is an X-linked lysosome storage disorder that results inα-galactosidase A deficiency.The subsequent accumulation of glycosphingolipids is more evident in vascular endothelium and smooth-muscle cells.The resulting effect of the deposition is generalized inflammation and vasculopathy,which can also affect the central and peripheral nervous system.FD progresses with kidney dysfunction,angiokeratoma of the skin,cardiomyopathy,cerebrovascular events and neurological disorders.In the present review,the neurological manifestations of FD are summarized with emphasis on cerebral vasculopathy,cochlear nerve dysfunction,psychiatric and cognitive symptoms,autonomic dysfunction and peripheral neuropathy.Enzyme replacement therapy is also discussed in the light of its more prominent effects when administered early in life,which make it essential to diagnose FD as soon as possible.Joseph Bruno Bidin Brooks Yara Dadalti Fragoso 2016Neuroimmunology and Neuroinflammation2016,3,1:2
