1Research Progress of Refractory High Entropy Alloys:A Review显示文摘Owing to superior comprehensive performance than conventional superalloys at high temperature,refractory high entropy alloy(RHEA)is becoming a promising candidate for the next generation high-temperature material.Herein,contemporary aspects of corresponding development of RHEAs are reviewed to discuss various factors affecting the organization structure and service performance.It mainly covers alloying system and strengthening mechanism,the preparation method,plastic deformation and the related mechanism,as well as microstructure control by heat treatment.Firstly,the alloy systems and strengthening mechanism are introduced.This is followed by different preparation methods and the comparison of strengths and shortcomings based on different RHEAs.Then,hot deformation behavior and plastic deformation under different loadings are analyzed.Based on this,the influence of heat treatment on microstructures prior to and after the deformation is further summarized.Finally,some important research areas to be carried out in future are pointed out.This review will give a deep understanding of the effects of different factors on the service performance and provide scientific guide in designing RHEAs with improved performance.Xiaochang Xie Neng Li Wei Liu Shuai Huang Xiaoyong He Qiuying Yu Huaping Xiong Enhui Wang Xinmei Hou 2022Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,6:4
2Characterization of increased cuticular wax mutant and analysis of genes involved in wax biosynthesis in Dianthus spiculifolius显示文摘Cuticular wax formation on the surface of plant leaves is associated with drought-stress tolerance.The identification of wax biosynthesis-related genes will contribute to the genetic improvement of drought resistance in plants.In this study,we characterize a novel Dianthus spiculifolius mutant with increased cuticular wax.The mutant exhibited stronger drought resistance as indicated by less leaf wilting and death,higher leaf relative water content and water retention capacity,and slower water loss and chlorophyll extraction than did the wild type during drought treatment.In the mutant leaves,2730 upregulated and 2151 downregulated differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified by transcriptome sequencing.A wax biosynthesis pathway of the identified DEGs was significantly enriched.Finally,three key genes(DsCER1,DsMAH1,and DsWSD1)involved in wax biosynthesis were identified and verified by qPCR.These results suggest that differential expression of DEGs involved in wax biosynthesis may be associated with the increase in cuticular wax in the mutant.Taken together,our results help elucidate wax formation patterns in D.spiculifolius.Furthermore,the DEGs involved in wax biosynthesis identified here may be valuable genetic resources for improving plant stress tolerance through increased accumulation of cuticular wax.Aimin Zhou Enhui Liu Jiao Liu Shuang Feng Shufang Gong Jingang Wang 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:4
3Mineral composition and particle size distribution of river sediment and loess in the middle and lower Yellow River显示文摘Hyperconcentrated flows often occur in the middle and lower Yellow River(MLYR)and its tributaries,within which the main sediment source originates from the Loess Plateau of China due to serious water erosion.Little is known about the properties of river sediment that is transported by hyperconcentrated flows,particularly with respect to the mineral composition and size distribution.Samples of sediment and loess were collected in the northern,middle,and southern Loess Plateau and the mainstream and tributaries of the MLYR.A total of 18 loess samples and 24 river sediment samples were analyzed to determine their sediment size distribution and mineral composition.The bottom loess samples reflected the original sedimentary features of the Loess Plateau,and the median particle size reduced,and the clay content increased from the north to the south of the study region.The surface loess has been weathered under the action of wind and rainfall,and the clay particle content in the surface loess samples was higher than that in the undisturbed bottom loess.Erosion of the surface soil due to rainfall and surface runoff means that fine particles(mostly clay)have been washed away.The median diameter of surface loess particles was a little larger than that of the bottom loess particles where water erosion dominates.The particle size became coarser with increasing distance from the estuary in the MLYR,which reflects depositional sorting in the river channel.Significant logarithmic relations were found between the median diameter of the sediment particles and the i)non-clay mineral content and ii)clay mineral content.Thus,clay and non-clay mineral compositions can be conveniently estimated from the particle size distribution.Shimin Tian Zhiwei Li Zhaoyin Wang Enhui Jiang Wenlong Wang Meng Sun 2021International Journal of Sediment Research2021,36,3:3
4Monodomain Liquid Crystals of Two-Dimensional Sheets by Boundary-Free Sheargraphy显示文摘Eliminating topological defects to achieve monodomain liquid crystals is highly significant for the fundamental studies of soft matter and building long-range ordered materials.However,liquid crystals are metastable and sensitive to external stimuli,such as flow,confinement,and electromagnetic fields,which cause their intrinsic polycrystallinity and topological defects.Here,we achieve the monodomain liquid crystals of graphene oxide over 30 cm through boundary-free sheargraphy.The obtained monodomain liquid crystals exhibit large-area uniform alignment of sheets,which has the same optical polarized angle and intensity.The monodomain liquid crystals provide bidirectionally ordered skeletons,which can be applied as lightweight thermal management materials with bidirectionally high thermal and electrical conductivity.Furthermore,we extend the controllable topology of two-dimensional colloids by introducing singularities and disclinations in monodomain liquid crystals.Topological structures with defect strength from−2 to+2 were realized.This work provides a facile methodology to study the structural order of soft matter at a macroscopic level,facilitating the fabrication of metamaterials with tunable and highly anisotropic architectures.Min Cao Senping Liu Qingli Zhu Ya Wang Jingyu Ma Zeshen Li Dan Chang Enhui Zhu Xin Ming Yingjun Liu Yanqiu Jiang Zhen Xu Chao Gao 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,12:2
5The effect of surface anisotropy on contact angles and the characterization of elliptical cap droplets显示文摘In this paper, the variation of contact angles of a droplet on grooved surfaces was studied from microscale to macroscale experimentally and theoretically. The experimental results indicated that the contact angle changes nonlinearly with anisotropic factor. To get clear of the changing process of contact angle on grooved surfaces from microscale to macroscale, we carried out theoretical analysis with moment equilibrium method being adopted. In addition, the variation of contact angles in different directions was investigated and a mathematic model to calculate arbitrary contact angles around the elliptic contact line was suggested. For the convenience of potential applications, a symbolic contact angle was proposed to characterize the ellipsoidal cap droplet on grooved surfaces. 10Life Cycle Assessment Analysis and Comparison of 1000 MW S-CO_(2)Coal Fired Power Plant and 1000 MW USC Water-Steam Coal-Fired Power Plant显示文摘The objective of this paper is to understand the benefits that one can achieve for large-scale supercritical CO_(2)(S-CO_(2))coal-fired power plants.The aspects of energy environment and economy of 1000 MW S-CO_(2)coal-fired power generation system and 1000 MW ultra-supercritical(USC)water-steam Rankine cycle coal-fired power generation system are analyzed and compared at the similar main vapor parameters,by adopting the neural network genetic algorithm and life cycle assessment(LCA)methodology.Multi-objective optimization of the 1000 MW S-CO_(2)coal-fired power generation system is further carried out.The power generation efficiency,environmental impact load,and investment recovery period are adopted as the objective functions.The main vapor parameters of temperature and pressure are set as the decision variables.The results are concluded as follows.First,the total energy consumption of the S-CO_(2)coal-fired power generation system is 10.48 MJ/k Wh and the energy payback ratio is 34.37%.The performance is superior to the USC coal-fired power generation system.Second,the resource depletion index of the S-CO_(2)coal-fired power generation system is 4.38μPRchina,90,which is lower than that of the USC coal-fired power generation system,and the resource consumption is less.Third,the environmental impact load of the S-CO_(2)coal-fired power generation system is 0.742 m PEchina,90,which is less than that of the USC coal-fired power generation system,0.783 m PEchina,90.Among all environmental impact types,human toxicity potential HTP and global warming potential GWP account for the most environmental impact.Finally,the investment cost of the S-CO_(2)coal-fired power generation system is generally less than that of the USC coal-fired power generation system because the cost of the S-CO_(2)turbine is only half of the cost of the steam turbine.The optimal turbine inlet temperature T_(5)becomes smaller,and the optimal turbine inlet pressure is unchanged at 622.082°C/30 MPa.LI Mingjia WANG Ge XU Jinliang NI Jingwei SUN Enhui 2022Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,2:1

16Formable porous biochar loaded with La-Fe(hydr)oxides/montmorillonite for efficient removal of phosphorus in wastewater:process and mechanisms显示文摘The development of biochar-based granule-like adsorbents suitable for scaled-up application has been attracting increasing attention in the field of water treatment.Herein,a new formable porous granulated biochar loaded with La-Fe(hydr)oxides/montmorillonite(LaFe/MB)was fabricated via a granulation and pyrolysis process for enhanced phosphorus(P)removal from wastewater.Montmorillonite acted as a binder that increased the size of the granulated biochar,while the use of Fe promoted the surface charge and facilitated the dispersion of La,which was responsible for selective phosphate removal.LaFe/MB exhibited rapid phosphate adsorption kinetics and a high maximum adsorption capacity(Langmuir model,52.12 mg P g^(−1)),which were better than those of many existing granulated materials.The desorption and recyclability experiments showed that LaFe/MB could be regenerated,and maintained 76.7%of its initial phosphate adsorption capacity after four adsorption cycles.The high hydraulic endurance strength retention rate of the developed material(91.6%)suggested high practical applicability in actual wastewater.Electro-static attraction,surface precipitation,and inner-sphere complexation via ligand exchange were found to be involved in selective P removal over a wide pH range of 3-9.The thermodynamic parameters were determined,which revealed the feasibility and spontaneity of adsorption.Based on approximate site energy distribution analyses,high distribution frequency contributed to efficient P removal.The research results provide a new insight that LaFe/MB shows great application prospects for advanced phosphate removal from wastewater.Enhui Sun Yanyang Zhang Qingbo Xiao Huayong Li Ping Qu Cheng Yong Bingyu Wang Yanfang Feng Hongying Huang Linzhang Yang Charles Hunter 2022Biochar2022,4,1:1
17Xenotime-type high-entropy(Dy_(1/7)Ho_(1/7)Er_(1/7)Tm_(1/7)Yb_(1/7)Lu_(1/7)Y_(1/7))PO_(4):A promising thermal/environmental barrier coating material for SiCf/SiC ceramic matrix composites显示文摘Rare-earth phosphates(REPO4)are regarded as one of the promising thermal/environmental barrier coating(T/EBC)materials for SiCf/SiC ceramic matrix composites(SiC-CMCs)owing to their excellent resistance to water vapor and CaO–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)(CMAS).Nevertheless,a relatively high thermal conductivity(κ)of the REPO_(4) becomes the bottleneck for their practical applications.In this work,novel xenotime-type high-entropy(Dy_(1/7)Ho_(1/7)Er_(1/7)Tm_(1/7)Yb_(1/7)Lu_(1/7)Y_(1/7))PO4(HE(7RE_(1/7))PO_(4))has been designed and synthesized for the first time to solve this issue.HE(7RE_(1/7))PO_(4) with a homogeneous rare-earth element distribution exhibits high thermal stability up to 1750℃and good chemical compatibility with SiO_(2) up to 1400℃.In addition,the thermal expansion coefficient(TEC)of HE(7RE_(1/7))PO_(4)(5.96×10^(−6)℃^(−1) from room temperature(RT)to 900℃)is close to that of the SiC-CMCs.What is more,the thermal conductivities of HE(7RE_(1/7))PO_(4)(from 4.38 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1) at 100℃to 2.25 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1) at 1300℃)are significantly decreased compared to those of single-component REPO4 with the minimum value ranging from 9.90 to 4.76 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1).These results suggest that HE(7RE_(1/7))PO_(4) has the potential to be applied as the T/EBC materials for the SiC-CMCs in the future.Peixiong Zhang Xingjun Duan Xiaochang Xie Donghai Ding Tao Yang Xinmei Hou Yunsong Zhao Enhui Wang 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,5:1
