1Tree-ring based PDSI reconstruction since AD 1842 in the Ortindag Sand Land,east Inner Mongolia显示文摘epartment of Wood Science, University of Hamburg, Hamburg D-21031, GermanyBased on three Chinese pine (Pinus tabulaeformis Carr.) and one Meyer spruce (Picea meyeri Rehd. et Wils.) ring-width chronologies, a 163-year drought history was reconstructed in the eastern Ortindag Sand Land. All tree-ring chronologies show large inter-annual variations and strong common signals and fairly consistent variation between different chronologies, indicating that they are excellent proxy of regional climate. A regional chronology (RC) was established by averaging the four standard chronologies and further employed for the analysis and climatic reconstruction. The analysis revealed that tree growth is primarily limited by low precipitation in February-March and June-July and high temperature in May-July. In addition, RC has high correlations with the monthly Palmer drought severity index (PDSI) prior to and during the growing season because the PDSI considers the accumulation of the droughts. Response function analysis revealed that RC only exhibits significant correlations with the PDSI in June and July (close to the 95% significance level in May). Because May―July is a critical period for tree growth, the average May-July PDSI (PDSI5-7) was reconstructed back to 1842 using RC in the Ortindag Sand Land. The reconstruction can explain 52% of the PDSI variance and the equation was rather stable over time. It agrees well with the variation of the average dryness/wetness indices in North China,and captures the decline process of the East Asian summer monsoon since the mid-1960s. It is worth noting that the Ortindag Sand Land has experienced the most severe drought in the recent 40 years based on the 163-year drought reconstruction. 2树轮所记录的公元1842年以来内蒙古东部浑善达克沙地PDSI的变化显示文摘利用浑善达克沙地东部新建立的4条油松和白扦年轮宽度序列,重建了过去163a来干旱变化的历史.结果表明,该区树轮序列具有明显的年际变化和较强的公共信号,且树轮序列之间的变化比较一致,是很好的区域气候代用资料.通过对4个树轮宽度标准年表的平均而建立了一个区域年表(RC),并用其进行分析与气候重建.树木的生长主要受2~3与6~7月份的低降雨量和5~7月份高温的限制.由于PDSI考虑了前期干旱的积累效应,因此RC与生长季及生长季之前的PDSI之间均存在显著的正相关关系;响应函数的分析揭示,RC仅与6,7月份(5月份也接近95%的置信水平)的PDSI之间存在显著的关系.5~7月份是浑善达克沙地树木生长的关键时期,因此我们采用RC重建了过去163a来5~7月份平均PDSI的变化,重建方程的方差解释量高达52%,且方程稳定.重建的5~7月份的平均PDSI序列与周边城市的平均旱涝指数的变化趋势比较一致,并捕捉到了20世纪60年代中期以来东亚夏季风的明显减弱过程.值得提出的是,近40a是过去163a来浑善达克沙地比较干旱的时期.与华北夏季降雨变化周期相同的是重建的5~7月份的平均PDSI序列也具有20a的显著变化周期.梁尔源 邵雪梅 刘鸿雁 Eckstein Dieter 2007科学通报2007,52,14:32
3老年人不同年龄段脊柱椎体外周骨定量CT测定研究显示文摘目的 研究老年人各年龄段 T3~ L5椎体骨密度及椎体横断面面积。方法 用外周骨定量 CT(p QCT)仪测量 40具老年尸体中 60 0个椎体的总骨密度、松质骨密度、皮质下骨密度、皮质骨密度、椎体横断面总面积、松质骨面积、皮质下骨面积及皮质骨面积 ,分别统计 60~ 69岁 (A组 )、70~ 79岁 (B组 )、80~ 89岁 (C组 )、90~ 98岁 (D组 )椎体骨密度值。结果 T3~ L5椎体总骨密度 (mg/ cm3)为 1 88.2 5~ 1 91 .60 ,松质骨密度为1 2 8.0 1~ 1 30 .66,皮质下骨密度为 454.90~ 461 .87,皮质骨密度为 764.1 3~ 769.55。结论 60~ 79岁椎体总骨密度值保持在相对稳定水平 ,80岁以后该值下降较明显。沈宁江 Kuhn V Eckstein F Putz R 2003中国老年学杂志2003,23,1:10
4Age Structure and Growth of Degraded Populus euphratica Floodplain Forests in North-west China and Perspectives for Their Recovery显示文摘The Populus euphratica floodplain forests along the lower reaches of the Tarim River in continental-arid Xinjiang (north-west China) have been declining in recent decades as a result of dam constructions and the withdrawal of water from the river. Since 2000,controlled flooding has been carried out to counteract this process of degradation. However,the consequences of a changing water regime for the floodplain ecosystem are not yet sufficiently investigated. In 2004 we sampled a total of 150 P. euphratica trees along two transects at the middle and lower reaches of the Tarim River to compare the age structure and growth of these two tree populations. The anthropogenic drawdown of the groundwater table had no effect on the average growth of the trees at the lower reaches. 7Eccentric error and compensation in rotationally symmetric laser triangulation显示文摘Rotationally symmetric triangulation(RST)sensor has more flexibility and less uncertainty limits because of the abaxial rotationally symmetric optical system.But if the incident laser is eccentric,the symmetry of the image will descend,and it will result in the eccentric error especially when some part of the imaged ring is blocked.The model of rotationally symmetric triangulation that meets the Schimpflug condition is presented in this paper.The error from eccentric incident laser is analysed.It is pointed out that the eccentric error is composed of two parts,one is a cosine in circumference and proportional to the eccentric departure factor,and the other is a much smaller quadric factor of the departure.When the ring is complete,the first error factor is zero because it is integrated in whole ring, but if some part of the ring is blocked,the first factor will be the main error.Simulation verifies the result of the a- nalysis.At last,a compensation method to the error when some part of the ring is lost is presented based on neural network.The results of experiment show that the compensation will make the absolute maximum error descend to half,and the standard deviation of error descends to 1/3.Wang Lei Gao Jun Wang Xiaojia Johannes Eckstein Peter Ott 2007仪器仪表学报2007,28,9:4
8Distribution and effects of tree leaf litter on vegetation composition and biomass in a forest–grassland ecotone显示文摘Aims After abandonment of grasslands,secondary succession leads to the invasion by woody species.This process begins with the accumulation of tree litter in the forest–grassland ecotone.Our objectives were to determine the relationships between litter amounts and vegetation composition and cover along natural forest–grassland ecotones and to experimentally study the initial effects of tree litter accumulation on grassland vegetation and on microsite conditions.Methods We established 11 transects varying from 12 to 15 m in length in different forest–grassland ecotones in the Lahn-Dill highlands,Germany,and measured the mass and cover of tree litter and the cover and composition of vegetation at five sequential positions along each transect by using 1 m2 plots with five replications.In a field experiment,we established plots subjected to different litter amounts(0,200 and 600g m^(−2))and evaluated changes in grassland vegetation,soil temperature and soil nutrient availability below the litter layer.Important Findings Tree litter amounts decrease from 650 to 65g m^(−2) across the forest–grassland ecotone.Vegetation changed from shrubs and annual species(adapted to more stressful conditions)in the forests edge to grasses,rosettes and hemirosette species(with higher competitive abilities)in the grassland.These anthropogenic forest–grassland ecotones showed abrupt edges,and the two adjacent ecosystems were characterized by different species pools and functional groups.In the field experiment,the presence of a litter layer reduced vegetation biomass and cover;the species richness was only reduced in the treatment with high litter(600g m^(−2)).Additionally,adding litter on top of vegetation also reduced thermal amplitude and the number of frost days,while increasing the availability of some nutrients,such as nitrogen and aluminium,the latter being an indicator of soil acidification.Adding a tree litter layer of 600g m^(−2) in grassland areas had strong effects on the composition and diversity of grassland vegetation by reducing the cover of several key grassland species.In,or near,forest edges,litter accumulation rapidly changes established vegetation,microsite conditions and soil nutrients.Alejandro Loydi Kerstin Lohse Annette Otte Tobias W.Donath R.Lutz Eckstein 2014Journal of Plant Ecology2014,7,3:3

10Investigations on the Corrosion Behaviour and Structural Characteristics of Low Temperature Nitrided and Carburised Austenitic Stainless Steel显示文摘The wear resistance of austenitic stainless steels can be improved by thermo-chemical surface treatment with nitrogen and carbon. However, it is possible that the corrosion resistance will be impaired by the precipitation of chromiumnitrid or -carbide. The present contribution deals with investigations of the corrosion behaviour and structural characteristics of a low temperature nitrided and carburised austenitic stainless steel. The material investigated was AISI 316L (X2CrNiMol7-12-2) austenitic stainless steel. A commercial plasma-nitriding unit (pulsed dc) was used for the nitriding and carburising process. Additional samples were treated by the gasoxinitriding process for a comparison between plasma- and gasoxinitriding. The nitrided and carburised layer of austenitic stainless steel consists of the nitrogen or carbon S-phase (expanded austenite), respectively. X-ray diffraction investigations show the typical shift of the peaks to lower angles, indicating expansion of the fee lattice. Also the X-ray diffraction technique was employed to study the residual stresses in the nitrogen and carbon S-phase. The corrosion behaviour of surface engineered samples was investigated with electrochemical methods. 12Frequency Ratio Analysis of Mass Movements in the Xiangxi Catchment, Three Gorges Reservoir Area, China显示文摘In 2003, the Three Gorges Project (TGP, China), currently the world’s largest hydroelectric power plant by total capacity, went into operation. Due to large-scale impoundment of the Yangtze River and its tributaries and also due to resettlement, extensive environmental impacts like land use change and increase of geohazards are associated with the TGP. Within the Yangtze Project, we investigate these effects for the Xiangxi (香溪) catchment which is part of the Three Gorges Reservoir. The aim of this study is to evaluate the susceptibility for mass movement within the Xiangxi River backwater area using geographic information system (GIS). We used existing mass movements and the conditioning factors (geology, elevation, slope, curvature, land use, and land use change) for analyzing mass movement susceptibility. Mass movements and geology were mapped in the field to establish a mass movement inventory and a geological map. Land use and digital elevation model (DEM) were obtained from remote-sensing data.
