| 15 | Evaluating the Geomorphological Features and Geotourism Potentials of Harmankaya Canyon (Bilecik, Turkey)显示文摘Harmankaya Canyon is located within boundaries of Karahasanlar settlement near Yenipazar district and Harmankoy settlement near Inhisar district in the east of the province of Bilecik. It was declared an area of nature protection under the name of 'Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park' in 2012 by the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs. This study introduces Harmankaya Canyon, in the first place, by discussing its geomorphological characteristics, which play a significant role in the declaration of canyon as a nature park, along with the formation. Then, it discusses the potentials born by the canyon as a newly emerging destination of geotourism. Harmankaya Canyon was created by Harmankoy Stream, one tributary of Sakarya River, within Bilecik limestones of Mesozoic age. The canyon is 2.3 km long and 650-700 m deep, with a difference of altitude of 136 m between the entrance and the exit. Having quite an impressive view, the canyon was mainly formed as a result of fluvial processes under the control of lithological, tectonic, and climatic factors together.Thanks to its geomorphological characteristics, the Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park offers both sports and social attractions, like geotourism bound by geographical formations, canyoning relying on natural sources, trekking, rock-climbing, rafting, paragliding, and photography. Considering its location close to the larger Turkish cities, such as Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, and Eskisehir and accessibility, the Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park is thought to meet all criteria for a destination of day-trips and weekend excursions for a relief from urban stress or for indulging in nature. SWOT (Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis was performed to unveil the touristic potential of the canyon. | 18 | Training Neuro-Fuzzy by Using Meta-Heuristic Algorithms for MPPT显示文摘It is one of the topics that have been studied extensively on maximum power point tracking(MPPT)recently.Traditional or soft computing methods are used for MPPT.Since soft computing approaches are more effective than traditional approaches,studies on MPPT have shifted in this direction.This study aims comparison of performance of seven meta-heuristic training algorithms in the neuro-fuzzy training for MPPT.The meta-heuristic training algorithms used are particle swarm optimization(PSO),harmony search(HS),cuckoo search(CS),artificial bee colony(ABC)algorithm,bee algorithm(BA),differential evolution(DE)and flower pollination algorithm(FPA).The antecedent and conclusion parameters of neuro-fuzzy are determined by these algorithms.The data of a 250 W photovoltaic(PV)is used in the applications.For effective MPPT,different neuro-fuzzy structures,different membership functions and different control parameter values are evaluated in detail.Related training algorithms are compared in terms of solution quality and convergence speed.The strengths and weaknesses of these algorithms are revealed.It is seen that the type and number of membership function,colony size,number of generations affect the solution quality and convergence speed of the training algorithms.As a result,it has been observed that CS and ABC algorithm are more effective than other algorithms in terms of solution quality and convergence in solving the related problem. | Ceren Baştemur Kaya Ebubekir Kaya Göksel Gökkuş | 2023 | Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,45,4: | 0 |

| 20 | Increased serum soluble lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 levels in patients with biopsy-proven nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘AIM: To analyze the relationship between the serum lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1(LOX-1) levels and clinical and histopathological features of biopsy-confirmed nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) patients.METHODS: Fifty-three consecutive,biopsy-proven NAFLD patients(31 males and 22 females,mean age 42.5 ± 9.6 years) and 26 age- and gender-matched,healthy controls(14 males and 12 females,mean age 39 ± 10.7 years) were included.The patientswith NAFLD were consecutive patients who had been admitted to the hepatology outpatient clinic within the last year and had been diagnosed with NAFLD as the result of liver biopsy.The healthy controls were individuals who attended the outpatient clinic for routine health control and had no known chronic illnesses.The histological evaluation was conducted according t o t he N AF LD ac t ivi ty scoring syst em recommended by The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Clinical Research Network.The serum LOX-1 levels were measured using an ELISA kit(Life Science Inc.USCN.Wuhan,Catalog No.E1859Hu) in both patients and healthy controls.A receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis was used to identify the optimal cutoff value of LOX-1 and thereby distinguish between patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) and healthy controls.A P-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.RESULTS: NAFLD and healthy control groups were similar in terms of age and sex.NAFLD patients consisted of 8 patients with simple steatosis(15%),27 with borderline NASH(51%) and 18 with definitive NASH(34%).Metabolic syndrome was found in 62.2% of the patients with NAFLD.The mean serum LOX-1 level in biopsy-proven NAFLD patients was 8.49 ± 6.43 ng/m L compared to 4.08 ± 4.32 ng/m L in healthy controls(P = 0.001).The LOX-1 levels were significantly different between controls,simple steatosis and NASH(borderline+definite) cases(4.08 ± 4.32 ng/m L,6.1 ± 6.16 ng/m L,8.92 ± 6.45 ng/m L,respectively,P = 0.004).When the cut-off value for the serum LOX-1 level was set at 5.35 ng/m L,and a ROC curve analysis was performed to distinguish between steatohepatitis patients and controls; the sensitivity and specificity of the serum LOX-1 level were 69.8% and 69.2%,respectively.CONCLUSION: The serum LOX-1 levels were significantly higher in NAFLD patients than in healthy controls.Additionally,the serum LOX-1 levels could differentiate between steatohepatitis patients and healthy controls. | Oguzhan Ozturk Yasar Colak Ebubekir Senates Yusuf Yilmaz Celal Ulasoglu Levent Doganay Seyma Ozkanli Yasemin Musteri Oltulu Ender Coskunpinar Ilyas Tuncer | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,26: | 0 |
