1Urine-derived stem cells:A novel and versatile progenitor source for cell-based therapy and regenerative medicine显示文摘Engineered functional organs or tissues,created with autologous somatic cells and seeded on biodegradable or hydrogel scaffolds,have been developed for use in individualswith tissue damage suffered fromcongenital disorders,infection,irradiation,or cancer.However,in those patients,abnormal cells obtained by biopsy fromthe compromised tissue could potentially contaminate the engineered tissues.Thus,an alternative cell source for construction of the neo-organ or functional recovery of the injured or diseased tissues would be useful.Recently,we have found stem cells existing in the urine.These cells are highly expandable,and have self-renewal capacity,paracrine properties,and multi-differentiation potential.As a novel cell source,urine-derived stem cells(USCs)provide advantages for cell therapy and tissue engineering applications in regeneration of various tissues,particularly in the genitourinary tract,because they originate from the urinary tract system.Importantly,USCs can be obtained via a non-invasive,simple,and low-cost approach and induced with high efficiency to differentiate into three dermal cell lineages.Deying Zhang Guanghui Wei Peng Li Xiaobo Zhou Yuanyuan Zhang 2014Genes & Diseases2014,1,1:34
2A closed-loop process for recycling LiNi_xCo_yMn_((1-x-y))O_2 from mixed cathode materials of lithium-ion batteries显示文摘With the rapid development of consumer electronics and electric vehicles(EV), a large number of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) have been generated worldwide. Thus, effective recycling technologies to recapture a significant amount of valuable metals contained in spent LIBs are highly desirable to prevent the environmental pollution and resource depletion. In this work, a novel recycling technology to regenerate a LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_2 cathode material from spent LIBs with different cathode chemistries has been developed. By dismantling, crushing,leaching and impurity removing, the LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_2(selected as an example of LiNi_xCo_yMn_(1-x-y)O_2) powder can be directly prepared from the purified leaching solution via co-precipitation followed by solid-state synthesis. For comparison purposes, a fresh-synthesized sample with the same composition has also been prepared using the commercial raw materials via the same method. X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and electrochemical measurements have been carried out to characterize these samples. The electrochemical test result suggests that the re-synthesized sample delivers cycle performance and low rate capability which are comparable to those of the freshsynthesized sample. 3Effect of discrete fibre reinforcement on soil tensile strength显示文摘The tensile behaviour of soil plays a significantly important role in various engineering applications.Compacted soils used in geotechnical constructions such as dams and clayey liners in waste containment facilities can suffer from cracking due to tensile failure.In order to increase soil tensile strength,discrete fibre reinforcement technique was proposed.An innovative tensile apparatus was developed to determine the tensile strength characteristics of fibre reinforced soil.The effects of fibre content,dry density and water content on the tensile strength were studied.The results indicate that the developed test apparatus was applicable in determining tensile strength of soils.Fibre inclusion can significantly increase soil tensile strength and soil tensile failure ductility.The tensile strength basically increases with increasing fibre content.As the fibre content increases from 0%to 0.2%,the tensile strength increases by65.7%.The tensile strength of fibre reinforced soil increases with increasing dry density and decreases with decreasing water content.For instance,the tensile strength at a dry density of 1.7 Mg/m^3 is 2.8times higher than that at 1.4 Mg/m^3.It decreases by 30%as the water content increases from 14.5%to20.5%.Furthermore,it is observed that the tensile strength of fibre reinforced soil is dominated by fibre pull-out resistance,depending on the interfacial mechanical interaction between fibre surface and soil matrix.Jian Li Chaosheng Tang Deying Wang Xiangjun Pei Bin Shi 2014Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2014,6,2:8

11Monitoring subsidence rates along road network by persistent scatterer SAR interferometry with high-resolution TerraSAR-X imagery显示文摘Ground subsidence is one of the key factors damaging transportation facilities,e.g.,road networks consisting of highways and railways.In tiiis paper,we propose to apply the persistent scatterer synthetic aperture radar interferometry(PS-InSAR)approach mat uses highresolution TerraSAR-X(TSX)imagery to extract the regional scale subsidence rates(i.e.,average annual subsidence in mm/year)along road networks.The primary procedures involve interferometric pair selection,interferogram generation,persistent scatterer(PS)detection,PS networking,phase parameterization,and subsidence rate estimation.The Xiqing District in southwest Tianjin(China)is selected as the study area.This district contains one railway line and several highway lines.A total of 15TSX images covering this area between April 2009 and June 2010 are utilized to obtain the subsidence rates by using the PS-InSAR(PSI)approach.The subsidence rates derived from PSI range from—68.7 to—1.3 mm/year.These findings show a significantly uneven subsidence pattern along the road network.Comparison between the PSI-derived subsidence rates and the leveling data obtained along the highways shows that the mean and standard deviation(SD)of the discrepancies between die two types of subsidence rates are 0.1 and±3.2 mm/year,respectively.The results indicate that the high-resolution TSX PSI is capable of providing comprehensive and detailedsubsidence information regarding road networks with millimeter-level accuracy.Further inspections under geological conditions and land-use categories in the study area indicate that the observed subsidence is highly related to aquifer compression due to groundwater pumping.Therefore,measures should be taken to mitigate groundwater extraction for the study area.Bing Yu Guoxiang Liu Rui Zhang Hongguo Jia Tao Li Xiaowen Wang Keren Dai Deying Ma 2013Journal of Modern Transportation2013,21,4:4
12A qualitative study on nurses'reactions to inpatient suicide in a general hospital显示文摘Aims:To explore the impact of inpatient suicides on nurses working in front-line,the patterns of regulation and their needs for support.Methods:Data were collected through purposive sampling by conducting semi-structured and individual in-depth interviews in a tertiary referral hospital in China.Colaizzi's sevenstep phenomenological method was simultaneously used by two interviewers.Results:Reactions to inpatient suicides revealed three central themes:(1)inpatients were highly likely to commit suicide,(2)inpatient suicide was difficult to prevent,and(3)nurses lacked the necessary suicide prevention skills.Psychological responses mainly included shock and panic,self-accusation or guilt,sense of fear,and frustration.The impacts on practice were stress,excessive vigilance,and burnout.Avoidance and sharing of feelings played key roles in the regulation patterns of nurses.Conclusions:Nurses who experienced inpatient suicide became stressed.Effective interventions must be implemented to improve the coping mechanisms of nurses against the negative consequences of inpatient suicide.The findings of this study will allow administrators to gain insight into the impacts of inpatient suicides on nurses in general hospitals.Such information can be used to develop effective strategies and provide individual support and ongoing education.Consequently,nurses will acquire suicide prevention skills and help patients achieve swift recovery.Shujie Wang Xiaoping Ding Deying Hu Keke Zhang Di Huang 2016International Journal of Nursing Sciences2016,3,4:4
13Dopant-free hole transporting materials with supramolecular interactions and reverse diffusion for efficient and modular p-i-n perovskite solar cells显示文摘The rational design of dopant-free organic hole-transporting layer(HTL) materials is still a challenge for realizing high-efficient and stable p-i-n planar perovskite solar cells(pero-SCs). Here, we synthesized two π-conjugated small-molecule HTL materials through tailoring the backbone and conjugated side chain to carefully control molecular conformation. The resultant BDT-TPAs Th containing a planar fused benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene(BDT) core and a conjugated thiophene side chain showed the planar conformation. X-ray crystallography showed a favorable stacking model in solid states under the parallel-displaced π-πand additional S-π weak-bond supramolecular interactions, thus achieving an obviously increased hole mobility without dopants.As an HTL material in p-i-n planar pero-SCs, the marginal solubility of BDT-TPA-s Th enabled inverse diffusion into the perovskite precursor solution for assisting the subsequent perovskite film growth and passivating the uncoordinated Pb2+ ion defects. As a result, the planar p-i-n pero-SCs exhibited a champion power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 20.5% and enhanced moisture stability. Importantly, the BDT-TPA-s Th HTL material also showed weak thickness-photovoltaic dependence, and the pero-SCs with blade-coated BDT-TPA-s Th as a HTL achieved a 15.30% PCE for the 1-cm2 modularized device. 16Recent progress on biodegradable materials and transient electronics显示文摘Transient electronics(or biodegradable electronics)is an emerging technology whose key characteristic is an ability to dissolve,resorb,or physically disappear in physiological environments in a controlled manner.Potential applications include eco-friendly sensors,temporary biomedical implants,and datasecure hardware.Biodegradable electronics built with water-soluble,biocompatible active and passive materials can provide multifunctional operations for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes,such as monitoring intracranial pressure,identifying neural networks,assisting wound healing process,etc.This review summarizes the up-to-date materials strategies,manufacturing schemes,and device layouts for biodegradable electronics,and the outlook is discussed at the end.It is expected that the translation of these materials and technologies into clinical settings could potentially provide vital tools that are beneficial for human healthcare.Rongfeng Li Liu Wang Deying Kong Lan Yin 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,3:4
17ANALYSIS AND SIMULATION ON THE MECHANISM OF A NOVEL DUAL-WAVE SHOCK TEST MACHINE显示文摘For qualifying the anti-shock performance of shipboard equipments and simulating actual underwater explosion environments,a novel dual-wave shock test machine is proposed to increase testing capability of shock test machines as well as to meet certain shock testing specification. The machine can generate a double-pulse acceleration shock for test articles according to specification defined in BV043/85. On the basis of the impact theory,a nonlinear dynamic model of the hydraulically-actuated test machine is established with thorough analysis on its mechanism which involves conversion of gas potential energy and dissipation of kinetic energy. 18Hydrocarbon accumulation conditions and key exploration and development technologies for PL 19-3 oilfield显示文摘The PL 19e3 Oilfield is the only super-large monolithic oilfield with oil and gas reserves up to 1×10^(9) t in the Bohai Bay Basin,and it has been successfully developed.Exploration and development practices have provided abundant data for analyzing formation conditions of this super-large oilfield.On the basis of the exploration and development history,fundamental reservoir features,and with available geological,geophysical and test data,the hydrocarbon accumulation conditions and key exploration&development technologies of the PL 19e3 Oilfield were discussed.The key conditions for forming the super-large Neogene oilfield include four aspects.Firstly,the oilfield is located at the high position of the uplift that contacts the brachy-axis of the multi-ridge slope in the biggest hydrocarbon-rich sag in the Bohai Bay Basin,thus it has sufficient hydrocarbon source and extremely superior hydrocarbon migration condition.Secondly,the large-scale torsional anticlines which formed in the Neogene under the control of the Tanlu strike-slipping movement provide sufficient storage spaces for oil and gas preservation.Thirdly,the“multiple sets of composite reservoir-caprock assemblages”developing in the special shallow-water delta further contributes greatly to the effective storage space for oil and gas preservation.Fourthly,due to the coupling of the uplift and strike slip in the neotectonic period,extensive faulting activities constantly released the pressure while the late period massive hydrocarbon expulsion of the Bozhong took place at the same time,which assures the constant and intense charging of oil and gas.The super-large PL 19e3 Oilfield was controlled by the coupling effects of all those special geologic factors.In view of this oilfield's features(e.g.violently reformation caused by strike slip,and the special sedimentary environment of shallow-water delta),some key practical technologies for exploration and development have been developed.Such technologies include:the special prestack depth migration processing for gas cloud zones,the prediction of thin interbed reservoirs based on high-precision inversion of geologic model,the reservoir description for the shallow-water braided river delta,the quantitative description for remaining oil in the commingled oil reservoirs with wide well spacing and long well interval,and the well pattern adjustment for formations during high water cut period in the complex fluvial-facies oilfields.Yong'an Xue Yunhua Deng Deying Wang Haifeng Yang Dingyou Lv Kai Kang 2019Petroleum Research2019,4,1:3
19Nonradical-dominated peroxymonosulfate activation through bimetallic Fe/Mn-loaded hydroxyl-rich biochar for efficient degradation of tetracycline显示文摘Biochar-based transition metal catalysts have been identified as excellent peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activators for producing radicals used to degrade organic pollutants.However,the radical-dominated pathways for PMS activation severely limit their practical applications in the degradation of organic pollutants from wastewater due to side reactions between radicals and the coexisting anions.Herein,bimetallic Fe/Mn-loaded hydroxyl-rich biochar(FeMn-OH-BC)is synthesized to activate PMS through nonradical-dominated pathways.The as-prepared FeMn-OH-BC exhibits excellent catalytic activity for degrading tetracycline at broad pH conditions ranging from 5 to 9,and about 85.0%of tetracycline is removed in 40 min.Experiments on studying the influences of various anions(HCO_(3)^(−),NO_(3)^(−),and H_(2)PO_(4)^(−))show that the inhibiting effect is negligible,suggesting that the FeMn-OHBC based PMS activation is dominated by nonradical pathways.Electron paramagnetic resonance measurements and quenching tests provide direct evidence to confirm that 1O2 is the major reactive oxygen species generated from FeMn-OH-BC based PMS activation.Theoretical calculations further reveal that the FeMn-OH sites in FeMn-OH-BC are dominant active sites for PMS activation,which have higher adsorption energy and stronger oxidative activity towards PMS than OH-BC sites.This work provides a new route for driving PMS activation by biochar-based transition metal catalysts through nonradical pathways.Yihui Li Deying Lin Yongfu Li Peikun Jiang Xiaobo Fang Bing Yu 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:3
