1Draft genome sequence of cauliflower(Brassica oleracea L.var.botrytis)provides new insights into the C genome in Brassica species显示文摘Cauliflower is an important variety of Brassica oleracea and is planted worldwide.Here,the high-quality genome sequence of cauliflower was reported.The assembled cauliflower genome was 584.60 Mb in size,with a contig N50 of 2.11 Mb,and contained 47,772 genes;56.65%of the genome was composed of repetitive sequences.Among these sequences,long terminal repeats(LTRs)were the most abundant(32.71%of the genome),followed by transposable elements(TEs)(12.62%).Comparative genomic analysis confirmed that after an ancient paleohexaploidy(γ)event,cauliflower underwent two whole-genome duplication(WGD)events shared with Arabidopsis and an additional whole-genome triplication(WGT)event shared with other Brassica species.The present cultivated cauliflower diverged from the ancestral B.oleracea species~3.0 million years ago(Mya).The speciation of cauliflower(~2.0 Mya)was later than that of B.oleracea L.var.capitata(approximately 2.6 Mya)and other Brassica species(over 2.0 Mya).Chromosome no.03 of cauliflower shared the most syntenic blocks with the A,B,and C genomes of Brassica species and its eight other chromosomes,implying that chromosome no.03 might be the most ancient one in the cauliflower genome,which was consistent with the chromosome being inherited from the common ancestor of Brassica species.In addition,2,718 specific genes,228 expanded genes,2 contracted genes,and 1,065 positively selected genes in cauliflower were identified and functionally annotated.These findings provide new insights into the genomic diversity of Brassica species and serve as a valuable reference for molecular breeding of cauliflower.Deling Sun Chunguo Wang Xiaoli Zhang Wenlin Zhang Hanmin Jiang Xingwei Yao Lili Liu Zhenghua Wen Guobao Niu Xiaozheng Shan 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:6
2All-solid-state BiVO4/ZnIn2S4 Z-scheme composite with efficient charge separations for improved visible light photocatalytic organics degradation显示文摘Constructing a Z-scheme is a significant approach to improve the separation of photogene rated carriers for effective organic pollutant degradation.Herein,a BiVO4/ZnIn2S4(BZ) Z-scheme composite was successfully synthesized,and applied to photodegrade methyl orange(MO) irradiated by a LED lamp.Anchoring the BiVO4 on the ZnIn2S4 nanoparticles promoted the separation of photogenerated electronholes and broadened the light response range.The detailed characterizations,including surface morphology,elements valence state,and photocurrent performance,demonstrated that the enhanced separation of photogenerated carriers was the pivotal reason for the enhanced photocatalysis reaction.Benefiting from the excellent photocatalytic characteristics,the 5% mass ratio of BZ composite presented the highest MO degradation rate of 0.00997 min^-1,which was 1.9 and 10.3 times greater than the virgin ZnIn2S4 and BiVO4,respectively.Furthermore,the BZ hybrid materials indicated a well photo-stability in the four recycling tests.Deling Yuan Mengting Sun Shoufeng Tang Yating Zhang Zetao Wang Jinbang Qi Yandi Rao Qingrui Zhang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,2:5
3Micelle or polymersome formation by PCL-PEG-PCL copolymers as drug delivery systems显示文摘Polye-caprolactone)-b-poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(e-caprolactone)(PCL-b-PEG-b-PCL,PCEC) triblock copolymers have been widely investigated in last several decades.Here,by altering the weight ratio of monomers in ring-opening polymerization,a series of PCEC triblock copolymers with varying hydrophobicity were synthesized,which were characterized by FTIR,1 H NMR,GPC and DSC.When PCEC copolymers with different weight ratios of PCL/PEG were dispersed in different aqueous solutions,they could self-assemble and form two distinctive nanoparticular structures:micelles or polymersomes.We then chose paclitaxel(PTX) as the model drug and encapsulate PTX into PCEC polymeric micelles and polymersomes.The physicochemical characterizations of the nanoparticles such as morphology,the size and distribution,zeta potential,drug loading content,and encapsulation efficiency were also performed.Our results showed that polymeric micelles or polymersomes from PCEC both displayed narrow size distributions and could achieve high drug loading efficiencies.In vitro cellular uptake results suggested that Nile Red loaded polymeric micelles or polymersomes displayed more internalization after 24 h incubation than those after 4 h incubation.These findings suggest that polymeric micelles and polymersomes based on PCL-b-PEG-b-PCL copolymers have great potential to effectively delivery hydrophobic drugs.Chunyan Hu Zhuo Chen Shengjie Wu Yanfeng Han Hai Wang Hongfan Sun Deling Kong Xigang Leng Chun Wang Linhua Zhang Dunwan Zhu 2017Chinese Chemical Letters2017,28,9:4
4Burial fluxes and sources of organic carbon in sediments of the central Yellow Sea mud area over the past 200 years显示文摘Long-term changes of composition,sources and burial fluxes of TOC(total organic carbon) in sediments of the central Yellow Sea mud area and their possible affecting factors are discussed in this paper.Firstly,similarity analysis is employed to confirm that the carbon burial features resulted from two collected cores are typical in the central Yellow Sea mud area where YSWC(Yellow Sea Warm Current) is prevalent.On this basis,the burial flux of TOC here was considered to be 235.5–488.4 μmol/(cm2?a) since the first industrial revolution,accounting for about 70%–90% among burial fluxes of TC(total carbon) in the sediments.Compared TOC/TC ratio in the two cores with that in other marine sediments worldwide,we suggest that the growth of calcareous/non-calcareous organisms and dissolution of IC(inorganic carbon) are important factors controlling the TOC/TC ratio in sediment.Results of two-end mixed model based on δ13C data indicate that marine-derived organic carbon(OCa)is the main part among total burial organic carbon which accounts for a ratio over 85%.Due to the high TOC/TC ratio in the two cores,TC in the sediments also mainly exists as OCa,and the proportion of OCa is about 60%–80%.Away from the shore and relatively high primary production in upper waters are the main reasons that OCa is predominant among all burial OC in sediments of the central Yellow Sea mud area.Burial of OC in this mud area is probably mainly influenced by the human activities.Although the economic development during the late 19 th century caused by the first industrial revolution in China did not obviously increase the TOC burial fluxes in the sediments,the rise of industry and agriculture after the founding of new China has clearly increased the TOC burial flux since 1950 s.Otherwise,we also realize that among TC burial fluxes,TIC account for about 10%–30% in sediments of the central Yellow Sea mud area,so its burial could not be simply ignored here.Distinct from TOC burial,long-term TIC burial fluxes variations relate with climate changes more closely:the East Asian summer monsoon may influence the strength of the Huanghe River(Yellow River) flood,which could further affect the transport of terrestrial IC from land to the central Yellow Sea as well as the burial of these IC in the sediments.YANG Shu YANG Qian LIU Sai CAI Deling QU Keming SUN Yao 2015Acta Oceanologica Sinica2015,34,10:3
5Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Gliomas Exhibit Cell Biological and Molecular Signatures of Fetal Hindbrain-Derived Neural Progenitor Cells显示文摘Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma(DIPG) is the main cause of brain tumor-related death among children.Until now, there is still a lack of effective therapy with prolonged overall survival for this disease. A typical strategy for preclinical cancer research is to find out the molecular differences between tumor tissue and para-tumor normal tissue, in order to identify potential therapeutic targets. Unfortunately, it is impossible to obtain normal tissue for DIPG because of the vital functions of the pons.Here we report the human fetal hindbrain-derived neural progenitor cells(pontine progenitor cells, PPCs) as normal control cells for DIPG. The PPCs not only harbored similar cell biological and molecular signatures as DIPG glioma stem cells, but also had the potential to be immortalized by the DIPG-specific mutation H3 K27 M in vitro. 6Ferric ion-ascorbic acid complex catalyzed calcium peroxide for organic wastewater treatment:Optimized by response surface method显示文摘Hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))disproportionation,iron precipitation,and narrow pH range are the drawbacks of traditional Fenton process.To surmount these barriers,we proposed a ferric ion(Fe^(3+))-ascorbic acid(AA)complex catalyzed calcium peroxide(CaO_(2))Fenton-like system to remove organic dyes in water.This collaborative Fe^(3+)/AA/CaO_(2)system presented an obvious improvement in the methyl orange(MO)decolorization,and also effectively eliminated other dyes.Response surface method was employed to optimize the running parameters for this coupling process.Under the optimized arguments(2.76 mmol/L Fe^(3+),0.68 mmol/L AA,and 4 mmol/L CaO_(2)),the MO removal achieved 98.90%after 15 min at pH 6.50,which was close to the computed outcome of 99.30%.Furthermore,this Fenton-like system could perform well in a wide range of pH(3-11),and enhance the H_(2)O_(2)decomposition and Fe ions recycle.The scavenger experiment result indicated that hydroxyl radical,superoxide anion free radical,and singlet oxygen were acted on the dye elimination.Moreover,electron spin resonance analysis corroborated that the existences of these active species in the Fe^(3+)/AA/CaO_(2)system.This study could advance the development of Fenton-like technique in organic effluent disposal.Deling Yuan Chen Zhang Shoufeng Tang Zetao Wang Qina Sun Xiaoyu Zhang Tifeng Jiao Qingrui Zhang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,11:2

11Exosome-mimicking nanovesicles derived from efficacy-potentiated stem cell membrane and secretome for regeneration of injured tissue显示文摘Translation of exosome-based therapies to pharmaceutical use is hindered by difficulties in large-scale and cost-effective production of clinical-grade exosomes.The rational design of nanovesicles that mimic the functionalities and physicochemical properties of exosomes may circumvent these issues.In this study,membranes and secretome from efficacy-potentiated mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)were developed into size-controllable nanovesicles(Meseomes).MSCs were primed with interferon-y(IFNy)and tumor necrosis factor-a(TNFa),harvested,and exosome-mimicking Meseomes were subsequently synthesized via one-step extrusion.Meseomes demonstrated significant enhancement of pro-angiogenic,pro-proliferative,antiinflammatory,and anti-fibrotic effects on endothelial cells,macrophages,and hepatic stellate cells in vitro.Meseomes from primed MSCs benefited from an enrichment of bioactive and therapeutic molecules compared to nanovesicles from unprimed MSCs,as validated by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)proteomic analysis.Systemic administration of Meseomes to acute liver injury models resulted in the recovery of liver function,attenuated tissue necrosis.Further assessment of locally administered Meseomes in acute hindlimb ischemia models resulted in the salvage of the majority of the ischemic hindlimb(>80%),which was due to enhanced angiogenesis and M2 macrophage polarization.The versatility and therapeutic efficacy of our developed acellular Meseomes offer an appealing alternative to traditional cell or exosome therapies for regenerative and translational medicine.Chunxiao Qi Xiangsheng Liu Dengke Zhi Yifan Tai Yufei Liu Qiqi Sun Kai Wang Shufang Wang Adam C.Midgley Deling Kong 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:0
