1Identification and mapping of genes for improving yield from Chinese common wild rice (O.rufipogon Griff.) using advanced backcross QTL analysis显示文摘To identify useful genes from wild rice which have been lost or weakened in cultivated rice has become more and more important for modern breeding strategy. In this study, a BC4 population derived from 94W1, an accession of common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) from Dongxiang in Jiangxi Province of China, as the donor, and a high-yielding Indica cultivar (O. sativa L.), 'Guichao 2', as the recipient, was used to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with yield and its components. Based on the analysis for the genotype of BC4F1 population with 87 SSR markers distributed throughout the genome and investigation of the plant height, yield and yield components of BC4F2, a total of 52 QTLs, were detected. Of 7 QTLs associated with grain yield per plant, 2 QTLs on chromosome 2 and chromosome 11 for grain yield, explaining 16% and 11% of the phenotypic variance respectively, were identified. 2Identification and mapping of quantitative trait loci controlling cold-tolerance of Chinese common wild rice (O. rufipogon Griff.) at booting to flowering stages显示文摘An advanced backcross population of rice was used to identify the quantitative trait locus (QTL) controlling the cold-tolerance at booting to flowering stages. The recipient, Guichao 2 (GC2), was a commercial Indica rice; the donor Dongxiang common wild rice, was an accession of common wild rice (DXCWR, Oryza rufipogon Griff.). Three QTLs for cold-tolerance were detected on chromosomes 1, 6 and 11. Two of them coming from DXCWR could enhance the cold-tolerance of the backcross progenies. 3Lopingian mixed floras from Linxi Formation in Soron area,Inner Mongolia显示文摘A lot of well-preserved plants from the Linxi Formation are collected in the Soron area,Inner Mongolia,consisting of 34 species of 16 genera. They are Late Permian in age. The flora is characterized by a lot of Angaran plants,such as Paracalamites,Comia,Rhachiphyllum,Iniopteris,Rufloria,etc. Some Cathaysian elements,such as Lobatannularia lingulata,L. multifolia,Fascipteris Cathaysiantus,F. densata,Taeniopteris szei,Cladophlebis liulinensis and C. permica,are also mixed within the present flora. This indicates that the Soron of Inner Mongolia was located in the sector between the Angaran and Cathysian floristic provinces in Lopingian. It is beneficial for depicting the location and the evolution of the Solenker--Xar Moron suture zone in the phytogeographic view. 5Effects of complexing agents on acidic electroless nickel deposition显示文摘Our previous study reported the influences of different complexing agents on electroless nickel(EN) by examining the properties of the deposits.In the present work,the effects of four common-used complexing agents on EN deposition rate and the stability of solution pH values were examined,either with an acetic pH buffer agent or absent of them.It is indicated that the pH buffering effect of them is dominative when the EN solution is lack of the pH buffer.Under this situation,the EN deposition rate increases with the concentration of complexing agents increasing.The EN deposition rate decreases with further adding the complexing agent when the solution already has enough pH buffer capability.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy obtained during EN deposition illustrates that,in this case,the enhanced reaction resistance is the main reason for a lower deposition rate.However,the influence of polarization caused by mass transfer is not negligible at high complex ratio for sodium citrate and malic acid EN solutions.JIN Ying YU Hongying YANG Dejun SUN Dongbai 2010Rare Metals2010,29,4:6
6Instability waves and low-frequency noise radiation in the subsonic chevron jet显示文摘Spatial instability waves associated with lowfrequency noise radiation at shallow polar angles in the chevron jet are investigated and are compared to the round counterpart. The Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations are solved to obtain the mean flow fields, which serve as the baseflow for linear stability analysis. The chevron jet has more complicated instability waves than the round jet, where three types of instability modes are identified in the vicinity of the nozzle, corresponding to radial shear, azimuthal shear,and their integrated effect of the baseflow, respectively. The most unstable frequency of all chevron modes and round modes in both jets decrease as the axial location moves downstream. Besides, the azimuthal shear effect related modes are more unstable than radial shear effect related modes at low frequencies. Compared to a round jet, a chevron jet reduces the growth rate of the most unstable modes at downstream locations. Moreover, linearized Euler equations are employed to obtain the beam pattern of pressure generated by spatially evolving instability waves at a dominant low frequency St = 0.3, and the acoustic efficiencies of these linear wavepackets are evaluated for both jets. 7Coherent structures and wavepackets in subsonic transitional turbulent jets显示文摘A large eddy simulation(LES) is performed for two subsonic jets with a Reynolds number of Re = 105,which have different core temperatures, i.e., the cold and hot jet. The far-field overall sound pressure levels(OASPL)and noise spectra are well validated against previous experimental results. It is found that the OASPL is raised by heating at shallow angles. The most energetic coherent structures are extracted with specified frequencies using the filter based on the frequency domain variant of the snapshot method of proper orthogonal decomposition(POD). The m = 0, 1 modes have high coherence of near-field pressure for both jets, while the coherence of m = 0 modes is enhanced greatly by heating. Based on the coherent structures, spatial wavepackets are educed and the characteristics of growth, saturation and decay are analyzed and compared between the two jets in detail. The results show that heating would enhance the linear growth rate for high frequency components, and nonlinear growth rates for low frequency components in general, which are responsible for higher OASPL in the hot jet. The far-field sound generated by wavepackets is computed using the Kirchhoff extrapolation,which matches well with that of LES at shallow angles.This indicates that the wavepackets associated with coherent structures are dominant sound sources in forced transitional turbulent jets. 8Assessing Drought Conditions in Cloudy Regions Using Reconstructed Land Surface Temperature显示文摘Temperature vegetation dryness index(TVDI)in a triangular or trapezoidal feature space can be calculated from the land surface temperature(LST)and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI),and has been widely applied to regional drought monitoring.However,thermal infrared sensors cannot penetrate clouds to detect surface information of sub-cloud pixels.In cloudy areas,LST data include a large number of cloudy pixels,seriously degrading the spatial and temporal continuity of drought monitoring.In this paper,the Remotely Sensed Daily Land Surface Temperature Reconstruction model(RSDAST)is combined with the LST reconstructed(RLST)by the RSDAST and applied to drought monitoring in a cloudy area.The drought monitoring capability of the reconstructed temperature vegetation drought index(RTVDI)under cloudy conditions is evaluated by comparing the correlation between land surface observations for soil moisture and the TVDI before and after surface temperature reconstruction.Results show that the effective duration and area of the RTVDI in the study area were larger than those of the original TVDI(OTVDI)in 2011.In addition,RLST/NDVI scatter plots cover a wide range of values,with the fitted dry–wet boundaries more representative of real soil moisture conditions.Under continuously cloudy conditions,the OTVDI inverted from the original LST(OLST)loses its drought monitoring capability,whereas RTVDI can completely and accurately reconstruct surface moisture conditions across the entire study area.The correlation between TVDI and soil moisture is stronger for RTVDI(R=-0.45)than that for OTVDI(R=-0.33).In terms of the spatial and temporal distributions,the R value for correlation between RTVDI and soil moisture was higher than that for OTVDI.Hence,in continuously cloudy areas,RTVDI not only expands drought monitoring capability in time and space,but also improves the accuracy of surface soil moisture monitoring and enhances the applicability and reliability of thermal infrared data under extreme conditions.Shiqi YANG Dejun ZHANG Liang SUN Yongqian WANG Yanghua GAO 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,2:3
9Mode transition and oscillation suppression in supersonic cavity flow显示文摘Supersonic flows past two-dimensional cavities with/without control are investigated by the direct numerical simulation(DNS). For an uncontrolled cavity, as the thickness of the boundary layer declines, transition of the dominant mode from the steady mode to the Rossiter Ⅱ mode and then to the Rossiter Ⅲ mode is observed due to the change of vortex-corner interactions. Meanwhile, a low frequency mode appears. However, the wake mode observed in a subsonic cavity flow is absent in the current simulation.The oscillation frequencies obtained from a global dynamic mode decomposition(DMD)approach are consistent with the local power spectral density(PSD) analysis. The dominant mode transition is clearly shown by the dynamic modes obtained from the DMD. A passive control technique of substituting the cavity trailing edge with a quarter-circle is studied. As the effective cavity length increases, the dominant mode transition from the Rossiter Ⅱ mode to the Rossiter Ⅲ mode occurs. With the control, the pressure oscillations are reduced significantly. The interaction of the shear layer and the recirculation zone is greatly weakened, combined with weaker shear layer instability, responsible for the suppression of pressure oscillations. 11Bifurcations in penetrative Rayleigh-Be′nard convection in a cylindrical container显示文摘The bifurcations of penetrative Rayleigh-B′enard convection in cylindrical containers are studied by the linear stability analysis(LSA) combined with the direct numerical simulation(DNS) method. The working ?uid is cold water near 4?C, where the Prandtl number P r is 11.57, and the aspect ratio(radius/height) of the cylinder ranges from 0.66 to 2. It is found that the critical Rayleigh number increases with the increase in the density inversion parameter θ_m. The relationship between the normalized critical Rayleigh number(Rac(θ_m)/Rac(0)) and θ_m is formulated, which is in good agreement with the stability results within a large range of θ_m. The aspect ratio has a minor effect on Rac(θ_m)/Rac(0). The bifurcation processes based on the axisymmetric solutions are also investigated. 12The analysis of genetic diversity and differentiation of six Chinese cattle populations using microsatellite markers显示文摘A total of 321 individuals from six cattle populations of four species in a bovine subfamily in China were studied using 12 pairs of mi- crosatellite markers. The genetic diversities within and between populations were calculated. The phylogenetic trees were constructed by (δμ) 2 and DA distances, and the divergence times between populations were estimated by (δμ) 2. Altogether, 144 microsatellite alleles were detected including 24 private alleles and nine shared alleles. Chinese Holstein had the largest number of private alleles (10), whereas, Bohai black and Buffalo had the smallest number of private alleles (2). Chinese Holstein showed the highest genetic variability. Its ob- served number of alleles (Na), mean effective number of alleles (MNA), and mean heterozygosity (He) were 7.7500, 4.9722, and 0.7719, respectively, whereas, the Buffalo and Yak showed low genetic variability. In the phylogenetic trees, Luxi and Holstein grouped first, followed by Bohai and Minnan. Yak branched next and buffalo emerged as the most divergent population from other cattle populations. Luxi and Bohai were estimated to have diverged 0.039-0.105 million years ago (MYA), however, buffalo and Holstein diverged 0.501-1.337 MYA. 13The coral grayness in northern South China Sea and its description of interdecadal variation of precipitation in south China显示文摘The interdecadal variation of coral grayness in northern South China Sea (SCS) is studied using the annual mean coral grayness in northern SCS from 1789 to 1992 and annual precipitation at Guangzhou from 1908 to 1992 by Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA), correlation analysis, Mann-Kendall’s abrupt change analysis and composite analysis. The interdecadal variation of south China precipitation as reflected by the series of Guangzhou precipitation rebuilt with the coral grayness is discussed. The results show that the variation of coral grayness in SCS has significant terms of tendency, much-weighted interdecadal variation and weak interannual variation. There was a century-scale abrupt change of coral grayness at the end of the 1880s that changed from positive anomalies to negative anomalies. The global field of SST difference corresponding to the point of abrupt change was negative anomalies over the SCS and neighboring northern Indian Ocean, most of central and western Pacific Ocean and coastal areas of the northern Atlantic Ocean. The large-scale distribution of SST anomalies is concomitant with the century-scale abrupt change of coral grayness in SCS. Negative correlation exists between the coralgrayness in SCS and precipitation in Guangzhou on the interdecadal scale and the interdecadal precipitation in Guangzhou as reflected by the interdecadaldata of SCS coral grayness shows that the interdecadal variation of south China precipitation changes significantly from phase to phase. 17Model reduction for supersonic cavity flow using proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)and Galerkin projection显示文摘The reduced-order model(ROM) for the two-dimensional supersonic cavity flow based on proper orthogonal decomposition(POD) and Galerkin projection is investigated. Presently, popular ROMs in cavity flows are based on an isentropic assumption,valid only for flows at low or moderate Mach numbers. A new ROM is constructed involving primitive variables of the fully compressible Navier-Stokes(N-S) equations, which is suitable for flows at high Mach numbers. Compared with the direct numerical simulation(DNS) results, the proposed model predicts flow dynamics(e.g., dominant frequency and amplitude) accurately for supersonic cavity flows, and is robust. The comparison between the present transient flow fields and those of the DNS shows that the proposed ROM can capture self-sustained oscillations of a shear layer.
