| 1 | Ten cities cross-sectional questionnaire survey of children asthma and other allergies in China显示文摘Asthma,rhinitis and eczema(allergic or non-allergic)have increased throughout the world during the last decades,especially among children.Changes in the indoor environment are suspected to be important causes.China has experienced a dramatic change in indoor environmental exposures during the past two decades.However,such changes and their associations with children’s asthma and other health aspects have not been thoroughly studied.China,Children,Homes,Health(CCHH),Phase I,was a cross-sectional questionnaire survey of 48219 children 1–8 years old in 10 Chinese cities during 2010–2012.The questionnaire includes the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood(ISAAC)core health questions and additional questions regarding housing,life habits and outdoor environment.In health analyses,children aged 3–6 years old were included.The prevalences of doctor diagnosed asthma varied from 1.7%to 9.8%(mean 6.8%),a large increase from 0.91%in 1999 and 1.50%in2000.The prevalence of wheeze,rhinitis and atopic eczema(last 12 months)varied from 13.9%to 23.7%,24.0%to 50.8%and4.8%to 15.8%,respectively.Taiyuan had the lowest prevalences of all illnesses and Shanghai the highest,except for wheezewhere the highest value was for Urumqi.We found(1)no obvious association between disease prevalences and ambient PM10concentrations and(2)higher prevalences of disease in humid climates with hot summers and cold winters,but with no centrally heated buildings.Associations between the diseases and economic status as indexed by Gross Domestic Product(GDP)requires further study. | ZHANG YinPing LI BaiZhan HUANG Chen YANG Xu QIAN Hua DENG QiHong ZHAO ZhuoHui LI AnGui ZHAO JiaNing ZHANG Xin QU Fang HU Yu YANG Qin WANG Juan ZHANG Ming WANG Fang ZHENG XiaoHong LU Chan LIU ZhiJian SUN YueXia MO JinHan ZHAO YiLi LIU Wei WANG TingTing NORBCK Dan BORNEHAG Carl-Gustaf SUNDELL Jan | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,34: | 22 |

| 3 | Moisture Origins and Transport Processes for the 2020 Yangtze River Valley Record-Breaking Mei-yu Rainfall显示文摘The summer of 2020 recorded a record-breaking flood due to excessive mei-yu rain falling over the Yangtze River Valley(YRV).Using the Lagrangian model FLEXPART,this paper investigates moisture sources and transport processes behind this extreme event.Based on climate data from 1979 to 2019,the air-particle(an infinitesimally small air parcel)trajectories reaching the YRV show sectors that correspond to five main moisture sources:the Indian monsoon region(IND,27.5%of the total rainfall),the local evaporation(27.4%),the Western Pacific Ocean(WPO,21.3%),the Eurasian continent(8.5%)and Northeast Asia(4.4%).In the 2020 mei-yu season,moisture from all source regions was above normal except that from Northeast Asia.A record-breaking moisture source from the IND and WPO dominated this extreme mei-yu flood in 2020,which was 1.5 and 1.6 times greater than the climate mean,respectively.This study reveals a significant relationship between the moisture source with three moisture transport processes,i.e.,trajectory density,moisture content,and moisture uptake of air-particles.A broad anomalous anticyclonic circulation over the Indo-Northwestern Pacific(Indo-NWP)provides a favorable environment to enhance the moisture transport from the IND and WPO into the YRV.In the 2020 mei-yu season,a record-breaking Indo-NWP anomalous anticyclonic circulation contributed to a higher trajectory density as well as higher moisture content and moisture uptake of air-particles from the IND and WPO regions.This collectively resulted in unprecedented moisture transport from source origins,thus contributing to the mei-yu flood over the YRV in 2020. | Lixia ZHANG Dan ZHAO Tianjun ZHOU Dongdong PENG Chan XIAO | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,12: | 4 |

| 8 | Gamma-glutamyl transferase and cardiovascular risk in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:The Gut and Obesity Asia initiative显示文摘BACKGROUND Gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)is associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease(CVD)in the general population.AIM To identify the association of baseline GGT level and QRISK2 score among patients with biopsy-proven nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).METHODS This was a retrospective study involving 1535 biopsy-proven NAFLD patients from 10 Asian centers in 8 countries using data collected by the Gut and Obesity in Asia(referred to as“GO ASIA”)workgroup.All patients with available baseline GGT levels and all 16 variables for the QRISK2 calculation(QRISK2-2017;developed by researchers at the United Kingdom National Health Service;http://gffzz3d3435dbdf8b436dscpqncw0qwon66vvv.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/2017/;10-year cardiovascular risk estimation)were included and compared to healthy controls with the same age,sex,and ethnicity.Relative risk was reported.QRISK2 score>10%was defined as the high-CVD-risk group.Fibrosis stages 3 and 4(F3 and F4)were considered advanced fibrosis.RESULTS A total of 1122 patients(73%)had complete data and were included in the final analysis;314(28%)had advanced fibrosis.The median age(interquartile range[IQR])of the study population was 53(44-60)years,532(47.4%)were females,and 492(43.9%)were of Chinese ethnicity.The median 10-year CVD risk(IQR)was 5.9%(2.6-10.9),and the median relative risk of CVD over 10 years(IQR)was 1.65(1.13-2.2)compared to healthy individuals with the same age,sex,and ethnicity.The high-CVD-risk group was significantly older than the low-risk group(median[IQR]:63[59-67]vs 49[41-55]years;P<0.001).Higher fibrosis stages in biopsy-proven NAFLD patients brought a significantly higher CVD risk(P<0.001).Median GGT level was not different between the two groups(GGT[U/L]:Median[IQR],high risk 60[37-113]vs low risk 66[38-103],P=0.56).There was no correlation between baseline GGT level and 10-year CVD risk based on the QRISK2 score(r=0.02).CONCLUSION The CVD risk of NAFLD patients is higher than that of healthy individuals.Baseline GGT level cannot predict CVD risk in NAFLD patients.However,advanced fibrosis is a predictor of a high CVD risk. | Panyavee Pitisuttithum Wah-Kheong Chan George Boon-Bee Goh Jian-Gao Fan Myeong Jun Song Phunchai Charatcharoenwitthaya Ajay Duseja Yock-Young Dan Kento Imajo Atsushi Nakajima Khek-Yu Ho Khean-Lee Goh Vincent Wai-Sun Wong Sombat Treeprasertsuk | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,19: | 1 |

| 13 | Dynamic phenotypic heterogeneity and the evolution of multiple RNA subtypes in hepatocellular carcinoma:the PLANET study显示文摘Intra-tumor heterogeneity(ITH) is a key challenge in cancer treatment, but previous studies have focused mainly on the genomic alterations without exploring phenotypic(transcriptomic and immune)heterogeneity. Using one of the largest prospective surgical cohorts for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with multi-region sampling, we sequenced whole genomes and paired transcriptomes from 67 HCC patients(331 samples). We found that while genomic ITH was rather constant across stages, phenotypic ITH had a very different trajectory and quickly diversified in stage Ⅱ patients. Most strikingly, 30% of patients were found to contain more than one transcriptomic subtype within a single tumor. Such phenotypic ITH was found to be much more informative in predicting patient survival than genomic ITH and explains the poor efficacy of single-target systemic therapies in HCC. | 20 | Emerging liver organoid platforms andtechnologies显示文摘Building human organs in a dish has been a long term goal of researchers in pursue of physiologically relevantmodels of human disease and for replacement of worn out and diseased organs. The liver has been an organ ofinterest for its central role in regulating body homeostasis as well as drug metabolism. An accurate liver replicashould contain the multiple cell types found in the organ and these cells should be spatially organized to resembletissue structures. More importantly, the in vitro model should recapitulate cellular and tissue level functions.Progress in cell culture techniques and bioengineering approaches have greatly accelerated the development ofadvance 3-dimensional (3D) cellular models commonly referred to as liver organoids. These 3D models describedrange from single to multiple cell type containing cultures with diverse applications from establishing patientspecificliver cells to modeling of chronic liver diseases and regenerative therapy. Each organoid platform isadvantageous for specific applications and presents its own limitations.
