3A Criteria-based Assessment of the Coverage of Scopus and Web of Science显示文摘Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the coverage of the scientific literature in Scopus and Web of Science from the perspective of research evaluation.Design/methodology/approach: The academic communities of Norway have agreed on certain criteria for what should be included as original research publications in research evaluation and funding contexts. These criteria have been applied since 2004 in a comprehensive bibliographic database called the Norwegian Science Index(NSI). The relative coverages of Scopus and Web of Science are compared with regard to publication type, field of research and language.Findings: Our results show that Scopus covers 72 percent of the total Norwegian scientific and scholarly publication output in 2015 and 2016, while the corresponding figure for Web of Science Core Collection is 69 percent. The coverages are most comprehensive in medicine and health(89 and 87 percent) and in the natural sciences and technology(85 and 84 percent). The social sciences(48 percent in Scopus and 40 percent in Web of Science Core Collection) and particularly the humanities(27 and 23 percent) are much less covered in the two international data sources. Research limitation: Comparing with data from only one country is a limitation of the study, but the criteria used to define a country's scientific output as well as the identification of patterns of field-dependent partial representations in Scopus and Web of Science should be recognizable and useful also for other countries. 4Survival and an overview of decision-making in patients with cholangiocarcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND:Cholangiocarcinoma is rare,accounting for approximately 3%of all gastrointestinal cancers.This study aimed to identify the survival rate among surgically treated and palliated patients,and secondly to identify parameters that could predict a curative resection. METHODS:A total of 121 patients,55 men and 66 women, median age 70 years(range 31-91),who had been treated for cholangiocarcinoma in the period of 1990-2005 were evaluated retrospectively. RESULTS:Curative resection was performed in 40 patients (33%),whereas 81 received palliative treatment(67%).16% (19 of 121)of the patients had an explorative laparotomy without tumour resection.Age above 65 years(OR 3.4;95% CI 1.4-8.4;P=0.008),weight loss(OR 8.5;95%CI 1.5-46; P=0.01)or tumour location(The resection rate of hilar cholangiocarcinoma was lower than that of intrapancreatic cancer.)(OR 2.7;95%CI 1.7-4.5;P=0.001)predicted palliative treatment.The adjusted 5-year survival rate of patients who received tumour resection and palliative treatment was 30%and 1.2%,respectively(P<0.001).The survival rate of patients who were subjected to hepatectomy (70%)was better than that of patients who had a local or distal resection(20%)(P=0.02). 9Integrated lipidomics and proteomics network analysis highlights lipid and immunity pathways associated with Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Background:There is an urgent need to understand the pathways and processes underlying Alzheimer's disease(AD)for early diagnosis and development of effective treatments.This study was aimed to investigate Alzheimer's dementia using an unsupervised lipid,protein and gene multi-omics integrative approach.Methods:A lipidomics dataset comprising 185 AD patients,40 mild cognitive impairment(MCI)individuals and 185 controls,and two proteomics datasets(295 AD,159 MCI and 197 controls)were used for weighted gene CO-expression network analyses(WGCNA).Correlations of modules created within each modality with clinical AD diagnosis,brain atrophy measures and disease progression,as well as their correlations with each other,were analyzed.Gene ontology enrichment analysis was employed to examine the biological processes and molecular and cellular functions of protein modules associated with AD phenotypes.Lipid species were annotated in the lipid modules associated with AD phenotypes.The associations between established AD risk loci and the lipid/protein modules that showed high correlation with AD phenotypes were also explored.Results:Five of the 20 identified lipid modules and five of the 17 identified protein modules were correlated with clinical AD diagnosis,brain atrophy measures and disease progression.The lipid modules comprising phospholipids,triglycerides,sphingolipids and cholesterol esters were correlated with AD risk loci involved in immune response and lipid metabolism.The five protein modules involved in positive regulation of cytokine production,neutrophil-mediated immunity,and humoral immune responses were correlated with AD risk loci involved in immune and complement systems and in lipid metabolism(the APOE ε4 genotype).Conclusions:Modules of tightly regulated lipids and proteins,drivers in lipid homeostasis and innate immunity,are strongly associated with AD phenotypes.Jin Xu Giulia Bankov Min Kim Asger Wretlind Jodie Lord Rebecca Green Angela Hodges Abdul Hye Dag Aarsland Latha Velayudhan Richard J.B.Dobson Petroula Proitsi Cristina Legido-Quigley on behalf of the AddNeuroMed Consortium 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,3:3

12Mucosal blood flow measurements using laser Doppler perfusion monitoring显示文摘Perfusion of individual tissues is a basic physiological process that is necessary to sustain oxygenation and nutrition at a cellular level. Ischemia, or the insuff iciency of perfusion, is a common mechanism for tissue death or degeneration, and at a lower threshold, a mechanism for the generation of sensory signalling including pain. It is of considerable interest to study perfusion of pe- ripheral abdominal tissues in a variety of circumstances. Microvascular disease of the abdominal organs has been implicated in the pathogenesis of a variety of disorders, including peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease and chest pain. The basic principle of laser Doppler perfusion monitoring (LDPM) is to analyze changes in the spectrum of light reflected from tissues as a response to a beam of monochromatic laser light emitted. It reflects the total local microcirculatory blood perfusion, including perfusion in capillaries, arterioles, venules and shunts. During the last 20-25 years, numerous studies have been performed in different parts of the gastroin-testinal (GI) tract using LDPM. In recent years we have developed a multi-modal catheter device which includes a laser Doppler probe, with the intent primarily to investigate patients suffering from functional chest pain of presumed oesophageal origin. Preliminary studies show the feasibility of incorporating LDPM into such catheters for performing physiological studies in the GI tract. 17Major-effect candidate genes identified in cultivated strawberry(Fragaria×ananassa Duch.)for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside and pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside biosynthesis,key polyphenolic compounds显示文摘Strawberries are rich in polyphenols which impart health benefits when metabolized by the gut microbiome,including anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,and antiproliferative effects.In addition,polyphenolic anthocyanins contribute to the attractive color of strawberry fruits.However,the genetic basis of polyphenol biosynthesis has not been extensively studied in strawberry.In this investigation,ripe fruits from three cultivated strawberry populations were characterized for polyphenol content using HPLC-DAD-MSn and genotyped using the iStraw35k array.GWAS and QTL analyses identified genetic loci controlling polyphenol biosynthesis.QTL were identified on four chromosomes for pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside,pelargonidin-3-O-acetylglucoside,cinnamoyl glucose,and ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis.Presence/absence of ellagic acid deoxyhexoside and pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside was found to be under the control of major gene loci on LG1X2 and LG6b,respectively,on the F.×ananassa linkage maps.Interrogation of gene predictions in the F.vesca reference genome sequence identified a single candidate gene for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis,while seven malonyltransferase genes were identified as candidates for pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside biosynthesis.Homologous malonyltransferase genes were identified in the F.×ananassa‘Camarosa’genome sequence but the candidate for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis was absent from the‘Camarosa’sequence.This study demonstrated that polyphenol biosynthesis in strawberry is,in some cases,under simple genetic control,supporting previous observations of the presence or absence of these compounds in strawberry fruits.It has also shed light on the mechanisms controlling polyphenol biosynthesis and enhanced the knowledge of these biosynthesis pathways in strawberry.The above findings will facilitate breeding for strawberries enriched in compounds with beneficial health effects.Jahn Davik Kjersti Aaby Matteo Buti Muath Alsheikh NadaŠurbanovski Stefan Martens Dag Røen Daniel James Sargent 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
