1Epidemiology of lung cancer and approaches for its prediction:a systematic review and analysis显示文摘Background: Owing to the use of tobacco and the consumption of alcohol and adulterated food, worldwide cancer incidence is increasing at an alarming and frightening rate. Since the last decade of the twentieth century, lung cancer has been the most common cancer type. This study aimed to determine the global status of lung cancer and to evaluate the use of computational methods in the early detection of lung cancer.Methods: We used lung cancer data from the United Kingdom(UK), the United States(US), India, and Egypt. For statistical analysis, we used incidence and mortality as well as survival rates to better understand the critical state of lung cancer.Results: In the UK and the US, we found a significant decrease in lung cancer mortalities in the period of 1990–2014, whereas, in India and Egypt, such a decrease was not much promising. Additionally, we observed that, in the UK and the US, the survival rates of women with lung cancer were higher than those of men. We observed that the data mining and evolutionary algorithms were efficient in lung cancer detection.Conclusions: Our findings provide an inclusive understanding of the incidences, mortalities, and survival rates of lung cancer in the UK, the US, India, and Egypt. 3Optimisation of Adventitious Shoot Regeneration and Agrobacterium-mediated Transformation in Canna × generalis(Canna Lily)显示文摘Canna being ornamental plants has a significant role in agriculture, medical, economy and food industry. Canna has a limited vase life due to the rapid loss of moisture from its perianth. For improving its market value, cuticularisation of the perianth can be achieved by the expression of a heterologous cutin producing gene, using the tissue culture and transformation protocol developed in this study. Efficient, rapid and direct adventitious shoot regeneration was successfully established in Canna × generalis using recalcitrant rhizome explants. The explants were cultured on MS medium supplemented with 6-benzylaminopurine(6-BA), thidiazuron(TDZ), and kinetin. Among the four genotypes taken for tissue culture, the ‘Trinacria variegata' was the best responding cultivar. And 2 mg · L^(-1)6-BA or 1.5 mg · L^(-1) TDZ along with 0.1 mg · L^(-1) IAA was optimum for their regeneration. The highest regeneration was achieved in ‘Trinacria variegata'(36%) on 6-BA, 33% on TDZ while kinetin failed to evoke any regenerative responses. Regeneration was enhanced by supplementation of 100 mg · L^(-1) ascorbic acid(AsA), while, 100 mg · L^(-1) of l-cysteine or 100 mg · L^(-1) dithiothreitol(DTT), inhibited regeneration. Shoots were observed to develop 3–5 fibrous roots on MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg · L^(-1) indole-3-butyric acid(IBA). The plantlets were transplanted into pots and acclimatised in glasshouse with 100%survival. For transformation of Canna, rhizome explants were co-cultivated for 60 min in Agrobacterium suspension. The explants were washed with 500 mg · L^(-1) cefotaxime solution, subjected to 100 mg · L^(-1) kanamycin selection followed by excision of the shoots and culturing them on IBA-supplemented media for root development. 4Improved simultaneous quantitation of candesartan and hydrochlorthiazide in human plasma by UPLC–MS/MS and its application in bioequivalence studies显示文摘A validated ultra-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometric method(UPLC–MS/MS) was used for the simultaneous quantitation of candesartan(CN) and hydrochlorothiazide(HCT) in human plasma. The analysis was performed on UPLC–MS/MS system using turbo ion spray interface.Negative ions were measured in multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) mode. The analytes were extracted using a liquid–liquid extraction(LLE) method by using 0.1 mL of plasma volume. The lower limit of quantitation for CN and HCT was 1.00 ng/mL whereas the upper limit of quantitation was 499.15 ng/mL and601.61 ng/mL for CN and HCT respectively. CN d4 and HCT-13Cd2 were used as the internal standards for CN and HCT respectively. The chromatography was achieved within 2.0 min run time using a C18 Phenomenex, Gemini NX(100 mm 4.6 mm, 5 mm) column with organic mixture:buffer solution(80:20, v/v) at a flow rate of 0.800 mL/min. 5Impact of mining on tree diversity of the silica mining forest area at Shankargarh, Allahabad, India显示文摘The Shankargarh forest area is rich in silica, a major mineral used in glass industry. Extensive open cast silica mining has severely damaged the forest as well as productivity of the region. An understand- ing of the impact of mining on the environment particularly on vegeta- tion characteristics is a prerequisite for further management of these mining sites, especially in the selection of species for reclamation works. The present paper deals with the study of the tree composition of silica mining area of Shgankargarh forest, at both disturbed and undisturbed sites. Tree vegetation study was conducted at undisturbed and disturbed sites of Shankargarh forests using standard quadrate method. Density, abundance and frequency values of tree species were calculated. Species were categorized into different classes according to their frequency. The importance value index (IVI) for each species was determined. Species diversity, Concentration of dominance, Species richness and Evenness index were calculated for the undisturbed and disturbed sites. The distri- bution pattern of the species was studied by using Whitford's index. Similarity index between tree composition of disturbed and undisturbed sites was determined by using Jaccard's and Sorenson's index of similar- ity. Tree species showed a drastic reduction in their numbers in disturbed sites compared to that of the undisturbed sites. The phytosociological indices also illustrated the impact of mining on the tree composition of the area. The present study led to the conclusion that resultant tree vege- tation analysis can be used as important tool for predicting the suitability of particular species for revegetating the mined areas.Kumud Dubey K. 7Effects of Simvastatin on NF-κB-DNA Binding Activity and Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1 Expression in a Rabbit Model of Atherosclerosis显示文摘To observe the effects of simvastatin on nuclear factor kappaB (NF-κB)-DNA binding activity and on the expression of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in atherosclerotic plaque in rabbits and to explore the anti-atherosclerotic properties beyond its lipid-lowering effects. Thirty-six New Zealand male rabbits were randomly divided into low-cholesterol group (LC), high-cholesterol group (HC), high-cholesterol+simvastatin group (HC+S) and then were fed for 12 weeks. At the end of the experiment, standard enzymatic assays, electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA), immunohistochemical staining, and morphometry were performed to observe serum lipids, NF-κB-DNA binding activity, MCP-1 protein expression, intima thickness and plaque area of aorta respectively in all three groups. Our results showed that the serum lipids, NF-κB-DNA binding activity, expression of MCP-1 protein, intima thickness, and plaque area of aorta in the LC and HC+S groups were significantly lower than those in the HC group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the serum lipids between the LC and HC+S groups (P>0.05), but the NF-κB-DNA binding activity, the expression of MCP-1 protein and the intima thickness and plaque area of aorta in the HC+S group were significantly decreased as compared to the LC group (P<0.05). 9成虫体型大小驱动六斑月瓢虫性间相互选择(英文)显示文摘【目的】配偶选择是性选择的中心过程,当繁殖成本发生波动和配偶质量存在差异时,传统的性别作用也随之不同。为了验证在某些条件下雄性也可以像雌性一样进行选择,我们研究了雄性和雌性六斑月瓢虫Menochilus sexmaculatus(Fabricius)的交配成功率与作为适合度指标的成虫体型大小之间的关系。【方法】从初始种群中随机选择体型小和体型大的两性成虫,进行雄性和雌性配偶选择试验。并对成功交配的各个配对组的后代也进行配偶选择试验,测试其交配成功率。【结果】配偶选择试验结果表明,在雄性和雌性交配试验中交配的成功取决于体型大小。雄性根据其品质即体型大小这一繁殖力指标对雌性进行区分。同样,在雌性交配试验中体型大的雄虫比体型小的雄虫交配成功率高。无论亲本体型如何,体型大的雌虫都比体型小的雌虫产卵量高;不过,体型大小不影响卵的存活力。体型大的亲本的后代比体型小的亲本的后代发育更快,寿命更长,但是将其与来自初始种群的后代进行配偶选择时,它们在性合意(sexual desirability)或竞争力方面没有表现任何优势。【结论】六斑月瓢虫中存在以体型大小为目的性状的相互配偶选择。Ankita DUBEY OMKAR Geetanjali MISHRA 2016昆虫学报2016,59,2:3

11MSCTE对小肠克罗恩病诊断及活动性评估的价值显示文摘目的分析小肠克罗恩病(Crohn’s disease,CD)的CT影像学特征,并探讨多层螺旋CT小肠造影(Multislice computer tomography enterography,MSCTE)用于评估CD活动程度的准确性.方法对53例疑诊CD患者口服阴性对比剂后进行MSCT扫描,后期进行重建,对图像进行分析,并与病理结果对照分析,评价MSCTE用于评估CD活动程度的准确性.经病理证实53例中26例为CD(中度活动10例,重度活动16例).CD的CT表现主要为:病变肠壁黏膜的强化,肠壁厚度的增加、肠系膜纤维脂肪数量的增加、肠系膜脂肪密度升高及肠系膜淋巴结肿大.病变肠壁黏膜的强化及病变肠壁增厚对于鉴别中度与重度CD无明显统计学差异(P=0.631和0.138),而肠系膜纤维脂肪的数量增加、肠系膜脂肪密度升高和肠系膜淋巴结肿大三者对于鉴别CD活动程度具有统计学差异(P=0.009,〈0.001和0.045).结论 MSCT是诊断CD一个敏感及非侵入性的成像方法,并可用于评估CD活动程度,MSCTE应作为诊断CD常规的检查方法.Piyush Dubey 马新星 李勇刚 郭亮 2013中国血液流变学杂志2013,,1:3
12New chiral reverse phase HPLC method for enantioselective analysis of ketorolac using chiral AGP column显示文摘A simple, specific, precise, sensitive and rapid reverse phase-HPLC method was developed for determination of ketorolac enantiomers, a potent nonnarcotic analgesic in pharmaceutical formulations. The method was developed on a chiral AGP column. Mobile phase was 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 4.5): Isopropanol (98:2, v/v), at a flow rate of 1 mL/min with run time of 15 min. Ultraviolet detection was made at 322 nm. The linearity range was 0.02-10 mg/mL for each of the enantiomers. The mobile phase composition was systematically studied to find the optimum chromatographic conditions. Validation of the method under the conditions selected showed that it was selective and precise and that the detector response was linear function of ketorolac.Sunil K. 16Broadcasting with Controlled Redundancy and Improved Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘Wireless sensor networks(WSNs)consist of sensor nodes that broadcast a message within a network.Efficient broadcasting is a key requirement in sensor networks and has been a focal point of research over the last few years.There are many challenging tasks in the network,including redundancy control and sensor node localization that mainly depend on broadcasting.In this paper,we propose a broadcasting algorithm to control redundancy and improve localization(BACRIL)in WSNs.The proposed algorithm incorporates the benefits of the gossip protocol for optimizing message broadcasting within the network.Simulation results show a controlled level of redundancy,which is up to 57.6%if the number of sensor nodes deployed in a 500 m 500 m area are increased from 50 to 500.Tarun Dubey Om Prakash Sahu 2013Journal of Electronic Science and Technology2013,11,4:2

20On-current modeling of short-channel double-gate(DG) MOSFETs with a vertical Gaussian-like doping profile显示文摘An analytic drain current model is presented for doped short-channel double-gate MOSFETs with a Gaussian-like doping profile in the vertical direction of the channel.The present model is valid in linear and saturation regions of device operation.The drain current variation with various device parameters has been demonstrated.
