| 4 | Isolation and characterization of dengue virus serotype 2 from the large dengue outbreak in Guangdong, China in 2014显示文摘Dengue has been well recognized as a global public health threat,but only sporadic epidemics and imported cases were reported in recent decades in China.Since July 2014,an unexpected large dengue outbreak has occurred in Guangdong province,China,resulting in more than 40000 patients including six deaths.To clarify and characterize the causative agent of this outbreak,the acute phase serum from a patient diagnosed with severe dengue was subjected to virus isolation and high-throughput sequencing(HTS).Traditional real-time RT-PCR and HTS with Ion Torrent PGM detected the presence of dengue virus serotype 2(DENV-2).A clinical DENV-2 isolate GZ05/2014 was obtained by culturing the patient serum in mosquito C6/36 cells.The complete genome of GZ05/2014 was determined and deposited in Gen Bank under the access number KP012546.Phylogenetic analysis based on the complete envelope gene showed that the newly DENV-2 isolate belonged to Cosmopolitan genotype and clustered closely with other Guangdong strains isolated in the past decade.No amino acid mutations that are obviously known to increase virulence or replication were identified throughout the genome of GZ05/2014.The high homology of Guangdong DENV-2 strains indicated the possibility of establishment of local DENV-2 circulation in Guangdong,China.These results help clarify the origin of this epidemic and predict the future status of dengue in China. | ZHAO Hui ZHAO Ling Zhai JIANG Tao LI Xiao Feng FAN Hang HONG Wen Xin ZHANG Yu ZHU Qin YE Qing TONG Yi Gang CAO Wu Chun ZHANG Fu Chun QIN Cheng Feng | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014，57，12： | 21 |

| 7 | Circulating miR-214 is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease显示文摘Objective To study whether miR-214 is regulated in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients and whether placental growth factor (PLGF) is a possible target for miR-214 in atherosclerosis. Methods Circulating miR-214 was measured by quantitative PCR using RNA isolated from 40 patients with CAD, including 12with stable angina pectoris, 16 with unstable angina pectoris and 12 with acute myocardial infarction, and 15 controls without CAD. Plasma level of PLGF was measured by ELISA. Results The miR-214 level was significantly lower inCADpatients compared with that in controls (P < 0.01). Compared to controls, patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP, 38.6± 9.1 pg/mL) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI, 46.3±13.4 pg/mL) had significantly higher level of plasma PLGF, but not those with stable angina pectoris (SAP; P = 0.012, UAP vs. Control; P = 0.005, AMI vs. Control). In patients with AMI, the plasma level of miR-214 was positively correlated to that of PLGF. Conclusions The results suggest thatmiR-214 is a beneficial microRNAfor CAD patients. Loss of its protectionmay lead to increased PLGF levels andworsening atherosclerosis. | 10 | Long-term joint effect of nutrients and temperature increase on algal growth in Lake Taihu,China显示文摘To study how global warming and eutrophication affect water ecosystems,a multiplicative growth Monod model,modified by incorporating the Arrhenius equation,was applied to Lake Taihu to quantitatively study the relationships between algal biomass and both nutrients and temperature using long-term data.To qualitatively assess which factor was a limitation of the improved model,temperature variables were calculated using annual mean air temperature (AT),water temperature (WT),and their average temperature (ST),while substrate variables were calculated using annual mean total nitrogen (TN),total phosphorus (TP),and their weighted aggregate (R),respectively.The nine fitted curves showed that TN and AT were two important factors influencing algal growth;AT limited growth as algal photosynthesis is mainly carried out near the water surface;N leakage of phytoplankton and internal phosphorus load from sediment explains why TN was the best predictor of peak biomass using the Monod model.The fitted results suggest that annual mean algal biomass increased by 0.145 times when annual mean AT increased by 1.0°C.Results also showed that the more eutrophic the lake,the greater the effect AT had on algal growth.Subsequently,the long-term joint effect of annual temperature increase and eutrophication to water ecosystems can be quantitatively assessed and predicted. | Chun Ye Zhemin Shen Tao Zhang Maohong Fan Yangming Lei Jianda Zhang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011，23，2： | 9 |
| 11 | Geochronology and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopic composition of the granites,enclaves,and dikes in the Karamay area,NW China:Insights into late Carboniferous crustal growth of West Junggar显示文摘New whole-rock major and trace elements,and zircon U-Pb and Hf-Nd isotope compositions are reported for the Karamay dikes,enclaves,and host granites in the West Junggar,NW China.Zircon U-Pb dating of the Karamay pluton yields an age of 300.7 ± 2.3 Ma for the enclave and 300.0 ± 2.6 Ma for the host granite,which was intruded by dike with an age of 298 Ma.The host granites exhibit relatively low SiO_2 contents and A/CNK and Ga/Al ratios,low initial ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios(0.703421—0.703526) and positive εHf(t)(5.5—14.1) and εNd(t)(7.3—8.1) values with a young model age,suggesting that they are I-type granites and were mainly derived from a juvenile lower crustal source.The enclaves and dikes belong to an andesitic calc-alkaline series and have high MgO concentrations at low silica content and positive εNf(t)(7.6-13.2,14.2-14.9) and εNd(t)(6.8-8.3,~6.9) values.They are enriched in LILEs(Rb,Ba and U) and LREE and depleted in HFSEs(Nb and Ta) with insignificant negative Eu anomalies,indicating that the melts were derived from an enriched lithospheric mantle modified by subducted oceanic crust-derived melts and minor fluids,followed by fractional crystallization.The Karamay host granites and enclaves are of mixed origin and are most probably formed by the interaction between the lower crust- and lithospheric mantle-derived magmas,and were intruded by the unmixed dikes subsequently.The upwelling mantle through a slab window in an island arc environment might have triggered partial melting of the lithospheric mantle and its subsequent interaction with the granitic magma,further suggesting that the ridge subduction played an important role in the crustal growth of West Junggar. | Di Li Dengfa He Chun Fan | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015，6，2： | 8 |
| 12 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. | 13 | Ultrasonic diagnosis and vasoactive substances examination in patients with cirrhosis显示文摘Objective:To investigate hemodynamic change of patients with cirrhosis by using Color Doppler ultrasound technique and to explore the significance of change in the content of vasoactive substances-plasma endothelin-1(ET-1)and calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP).Methods:A total of 178 cases with cirrhosis were regarded as study groups,and were divided into three degrees:A,B and C according to child-pugh and meanwhile 60 cases were regarded as normal control group.Portal vein and splenic vein of patients were explored by adopting Color Doppler ultrasound technique,related indexes were recorded and the blood flow as well as their ration in the two groups was calculated.Radio immunoassay was adopted to detect the content of plasma ET-1 and CGRP in both study group and contrast group.Results:Compared with the healthy cases in the contrast group,there was abnormal hemodynamics in the system of portal vein of patients with cirrhosis and the content of plasma ET-1 and CGRP was increased obviously.In the Child-Pugh liver function grades,the content of ET-1 and CGRP was increased as the degree of cirrhosis became more and more serious.There was no significant difference in the comparison between those without ascites and those in contrast group(P>0.05),the content of plasma ET-1and CGRP in patients without ascites was increased remarkably.Besides,there was positive correlation between the content of plasma ET-1 and CGRP and Dpv,Dsv and Qsv.Conclusion:Dotection of abnormal hemodynamics of portal vein and splenic vein by Color Doppler ultrasound technique can be one of the means for diagnosis of hypertension.Plasma ET-1 and CGRP of patients with cirrhosis reflect the serious degree of the damage in live function and play an important role in the formation and development of portal hypertension. | Mei Fan Chun Su Lin Lu Jun-Chang Qin Pei Li Jia-Ying Yuan | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2014，7，4： | 7 |

| 16 | Role of epidermal growth factor in pathogenesis of uterine leiomyomas显示文摘Objective:To investigate the role of epidermal growth factor(EGF) in the pathogenesis of uterine leiomyomas.Methods:Human myometrial smooth muscle cells(HM-SMCs) and smooth muscle cells of human uterine leiomyomas(HL-SMCs) were separated from patients' specimens and cultured.After processed by EGF or PD98059(inhibitor of MKK/MEK) +EGF,the proliferation rate of both SMCs was detected by BrdU method and the phosphorylation level of p44/42 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) was determined by Western-blot.After different processing time by EGF,the phosphorylation levels of p44/42 MAPK and AKT and p27 expression level in both SMCs were detected by Western-blot.Results:EGF could significantly promote HL-SMCs proliferation and PD98059 could inhibit this effect(P<0.05);besides,PD98059 could inhibit the increase of the phosphorylation level of p44/42 MAPK in both SMCs induced by EGF.When the processing time by EGF was over 15 min,the phosphorylation levels of p44/42 MAPK and AKT in both SMCs decreased sharply and were close to zero:p27 expression in HM-SMCs raised significantly while the upregulation in HL-SMCs was little.Conclusions:EGF could not cause activation of EGFR because of the dephosphorylation of p44/42 MAPK and AKT in HL-SMCs,which caused p27 expression insufficiently and cell cycle dysregulation. | Chun Su Mei Fan Lin Lu Pei Li | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015，8，5： | 6 |

| 18 | Recognition and localization system of the robot for harvesting Hangzhou White Chrysanthemums显示文摘To realize the robotic harvesting of Hangzhou White Chrysanthemums,the quick recognition and 3D vision localization system for target Chrysanthemums was investigated in this study.The system was comprised of three main stages.Firstly,an end-effector and a simple freedom manipulator with three degrees were designed to meet the quality requirements of harvesting Hangzhou White Chrysanthemums.Secondly,a segmentation based on HSV color space was performed.A fast Fuzzy C-means(FCM)algorithm based on S component was proposed to extract the target image from irrelevant background.Thirdly,binocular stereo vision was used to acquire the target spatial information.According to the shape of Hangzhou White Chrysanthemums,the centroids of stamens were selected as feature points to match in the right and left images.The experimental results showed that the proposed method was able to recognize Hangzhou White Chrysanthemums with the accuracy of 85%.When the distance between target and baseline was 150-450 mm,the errors between the calculated and measured distance were less than 14 mm,which could meet the requirements of the localization accuracy of the harvesting robot. | Qinghua Yang Chun Chang Guanjun Bao Jun Fan Yi Xun | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018，11，1： | 5 |

| 20 | On the horizon of Protopteryx and the early vertebrate fossil assemblages of the Jehol Biota显示文摘Protopteryx, a monotypic fossil bird discovered from the Sichakou basin in Fengning, Hebei, is the most primitive enantiornithine currently known. The bird-bearing strata do not contain the index fossils of the Yixian Formation in western Liaoning; the fish and bird fossils have more primitive features than the related forms found in the Yixian Formation, and the conchostracans are those usually distributed in the Dabeigou and Dadianzi formations in northern Hebei. Besides, the Protopteryx-bearing strata underlie the deposits bearing the index fossils of the Yixian Formation in the neighboring basin. Thus, it could be confirmed that the horizon of Protopteryx should be lower than the Yixian Formation, and is approximately equivalent to the Dadianzi Formation in northern Hebei. This is the lowest horizon of the known fossil birds in China and Mesozoic enantiornithine birds in the world. Accompanying Protop- teryx, there are other birds, acipenseriform fishes, salamanders, and mammals, which compose the Peipiaosteus fengningensis-Protopteryx fengningensis assemblage. This new assemblage traces the vertebrate evolution history of the Jehol Biota back to 130.7 Ma before.
