1Exploratory study on new pulse detonation engines显示文摘The worldwide progress in studies on pulse detonation engines (PDE) is briefly reviewed and some results of our exploratory study on PDE are presented. Analysis of thermodynamic cycle is made and the specific impulse formula is improved. A proof-of-principle experiment of a two-phase PDE is successfully carried out, using poor-detonable liquid C8H16/air mixture with a low-energy system (total spark energy of 50 mJ) and a newly developed one-step detonation initiation method. The measured detonation wave pressure ratio is very close to that of C-J detonation. The effects of length, diameter and detonation frequency on PDE performance are experimentally investigated. For liquid hydrocarbon fuel/air mixture, the PDE operation is successfully realized with an engine length of 1000 mm and detonation frequency up to 36 Hz, which has made an important step toward practical PDE. The developed code can be used for simulating PDE operation processes including deflagration to detonation transition (DDT) phenomenon. 2Operation of a Rotary-valved Pulse Detonation Rocket Engine Utilizing Liquid-kerosene and Oxygen显示文摘The pulse detonation rocket engine (PDRE) requires periodic supply of oxidizer, fuel and purge gas. A rotary-valve assembly is fabricated to control the periodic supply in this research. Oxygen and liquid aviation kerosene are used as oxidizer and fuel respectively. An ordinary automobile spark plug, with ignition energy as low as 50 mJ, is used to initiate combustion. Steady operation of the PDRE is achieved with operating frequency ranging from 1 Hz to 10 Hz. Experimentally measured pressure is lower than theoretical value by 13% at 1 Hz and 37% at 10 Hz, and there also exists a velocity deficit at different operating frequencies. 3Experimental Investigation of Nozzle Effects on Thrust and Inlet Pressure of an Air-breathing Pulse Detonation Engine显示文摘Nozzle effects on thrust and inlet pressure of a multi-cycle air-breathing pulse detonation engine (APDE) are investigated experimentally. An APDE with 68 mm in diameter and 2 050 mm in length is operated using gasoline/air mixture. Straight nozzle, converging nozzle, converging-diverging nozzle and diverging nozzle are tested. The results show that thrust augmentation of converging-diverging nozzle, diverging nozzle or straight nozzle is better than that of converging nozzle on the whole. Thrust augmentation of straight nozzle is worse than those of converging-diverging nozzle and diverging nozzle. Thrust augmentations of diverging nozzle with larger expansion ratio and converging-diverging nozzle with larger throat area range from 20% to 40% on tested frequencies and are better than those of congeneric other nozzles respectively. Nozzle effects on inlet pressure are also researched. At each frequency it is indicated that filling pressures and average peak pressures of inlet with diverging nozzle and converging-diverging nozzle with large throat cross section area are higher than those with straight nozzle and converging nozzle. 6Experimental investigation of effect of partial filling on the impulse of pulse detonation engine显示文摘Using poor-detonable liquid C8H16/air mixture with low-energy system (total spark energy of 50 mJ) and a new one-step detonation initiation method developed in this study, partial-tube fill experiments have been conducted in a fixed length PDE tube with a fuel/air mixture section of different length, covering a wide range of the detonation tube fill fraction (ratio of fuel/air mixture length to tube length). Impulse was calculated by integrating the pressure differential at the closed end of the tube. Based on the re- sults obtained experimentally, it is found that the fuel-based specific impulse declines when fill fraction increases. On the other hand, the total-mixture-based specific impulse rises as fill fraction increases. 20Mechanical performance analysis of hollow cylindrical roller bearing of cone bit by FEM显示文摘Bearings are key components of cone bit,thus its rapid failure is a major cause of leading to lower life of the bit.To improve the bearing performance and prolong working life,contact mechanics of hollow cylindrical roller bearing of cone bit was simulated.Effects of hollow size,drilling pressure,friction coefficient and fitting clearance on mechanics performance of the bearing were studied.The results show that the maximum equivalent stress of the hollow cylindrical roller bearing appears on the claw journal,and the maximum contact stress appears on the contact pair of the hollow roller.Besides,hollow sizes have a greater impact on the equivalent stress and contact stress of the cylindrical roller,while the influence on the stress of the cone and claw journal is relatively small.With the increasing of the drilling pressure and fitting clearance,equivalent stress and contact stress of bearing parts increase.The friction coefficient has little impact on mechanical performance of the bearing.As the 121/4SWPI517 type hollow cylindrical roller bearing of cone bit an example,the optimal hollow size is 55%,the drilling pressure is 140 kN and the fitting clearance is 0e0.02 mm.Chuanjun Han Cheng Yu Ying Li Jiawei Yan Jie Zhang 2015Petroleum2015,1,4:1
