4PbGA2ox8 induces vascular-related anthocyanin accumulation and contributes to red stripe formation on pear fruit显示文摘Fruit with stripes,which are generally longitudinal,can occur naturally,but the bioprocesses underlying this phenomenon are unclear.Previously,we observed an atypical anthocyanin distribution that caused red-striped fruit on the spontaneous pear bud sport“Red Zaosu”(Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd.).In this study,comparative transcriptome analysis of the sport and wild-type“Zaosu”revealed that this atypical anthocyanin accumulation was tightly correlated with abnormal overexpression of the gene-encoding gibberellin(GA)2-beta-dioxygenase 8,PbGA2ox8.Consistently,decreased methylation was also observed in the promoter region of PbGA2ox8 from“Red Zaosu”compared with“Zaosu”.Moreover,the GA levels in“Red Zaosu”seedlings were lower than those in“Zaosu”seedlings,and the application of exogenous GA4 reduced abnormal anthocyanin accumulation in“Red Zaosu”.Transient overexpression of PbGA2ox8 reduced the GA4 level and caused anthocyanin accumulation in pear fruit skin.Moreover,the presence of red stripes indicated anthocyanin accumulation in the hypanthial epidermal layer near vascular branches(VBs)in“Red Zaosu”.Transient overexpression of PbGA2ox8 resulting from vacuum infiltration induced anthocyanin accumulation preferentially in calcium-enriched areas near the vascular bundles in pear leaves.We propose a fruit-striping mechanism,in which the abnormal overexpression of PbGA2ox8 in“Red Zaosu”induces the formation of a longitudinal array of anthocyanin stripes near vascular bundles in fruit.Rui Zhai Zhigang Wang Chengquan Yang Kui Lin-Wang Richard Espley Jianlong Liu Xieyu Li Zhongying Wu Pengmin Li Qingmei Guan Fengwang Ma Lingfei Xu 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:5
5Development of time series stacks of Landsat images for reconstructing forest disturbance history显示文摘Forest dynamics is highly relevant to a broad range of earth science studies,many of which have geographic coverage ranging from regional to global scales.While the temporally dense Landsat acquisitions available in many regions provide a unique opportunity for understanding forest disturbance history dating back to 1972,large quantities of Landsat images will need to be analysed for studies at regional to global scales.This will not only require effective change detection algorithms,but also highly automated,high level preprocessing capabilities to produce images with subpixel geolocation accuracies and best achievable radiometric consistency,a status called imagery-ready-to-use(IRU).This paper describes a streamlined approach for producing IRU quality Landsat time series stacks(LTSS).This approach consists of an image selection protocol,high level preprocessing algorithms and IRU quality verification procedures.The high level preprocessing algorithms include updated radiometric calibration and atmospheric correction for calculating surface reflectance and precision registration and orthorectification routines for improving geolocation accuracy.These automated routines have been implemented in the Landsat Ecosystem Disturbance Adaptive System(LEDAPS)designed for processing large quantities of Landsat images.Some characteristics of the LTSS developed using this approach are discussed.Chengquan Huang Samuel N.Goward Jeffrey G.Masek Feng Gao Eric F.Vermote Nancy Thomas Karen Schleeweis Robert E.Kennedy Zhiliang Zhu Jeffery C.Eidenshink John R.G.Townshend 2009International Journal of Digital Earth2009,2,3:5
6Global, 30-m resolution continuous fields of tree cover: Landsat-based rescaling of MODIS vegetation continuous fields with lidar-based estimates of error显示文摘We developed a global,30-m resolution dataset of percent tree cover by rescaling the 250-m MOderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)Vegetation Continuous Fields(VCF)Tree Cover layer using circa-2000 and 2005 Landsat images,incorporating the MODIS Cropland Layer to improve accuracy in agricultural areas.Resulting Landsat-based estimates maintained consistency with the MODIS VCF in both epochs(RMSE=8.6%in 2000 and 11.9%in 2005),but showed improved accuracy in agricultural areas and increased discrimination of small forest patches.Against lidar measurements,the Landsat-based estimates exhibited accuracy slightly less than that of the MODIS VCF(RMSE=16.8%for MODIS-based vs.17.4%for Landsat-based estimates),but RMSE of Landsat estimates was 3.3 percentage points lower than that of the MODIS data in an agricultural region.The Landsat data retained the saturation artifact of the MODIS VCF at greater than or equal to 80%tree cover but showed greater potential for removal of errors through calibration to lidar,with post-calibration RMSE of 9.4%compared to 13.5%in MODIS estimates.Provided for free download at the Global Land Cover Facility(GLCF)website(www.landcover.org),the 30-m resolution GLCF tree cover dataset is the highest-resolution multi=temporal depiction of Earth’s tree cover available to the Earth science community.Joseph O.Sexton Xiao-Peng Song Min Feng Praveen Noojipady Anupam Anand Chengquan Huang Do-Hyung Kim Kathrine M.Collins Saurabh Channan Charlene DiMiceli John R.Townshend 2013International Journal of Digital Earth2013,6,5:5
7Remote Sensing and Forest Carbon Monitoring——a Review of Recent Progress,Challenges and Opportunities显示文摘Remote sensing provides key inputs to a wide range of models and methods developed for quantifying forest carbon.In particular,carbon inventory methods recommended by IPCC require biomass data and a suite of forest disturbance products.Significant progress has been made in deriving these products by leveraging publicly available remote sensing assets,including observations acquired by the legendary Landsat mission and new systems launched within the past decade,including Sentinel-2,Sentinel-1,GEDI,and ICESAT-2.With the L-band NISAR and P-band BIOMASS missions to be launched in 2023,the Earth’s land surfaces will be imaged by optical and multi-band(including C-,L-,and P-bands)radar systems that can provide global,sub-weekly observations at sub-hectare spatial resolutions for public use.Fine scale products derived from these observations will be crucial for developing monitoring,reporting,and verification(MRV)capabilities needed to support carbon trade,REDD+,and other market-driven tools aimed at achieving climate mitigation goals through forest management at all levels.Following a brief discussion of the roles of forests in the global carbon cycle and the wide range of models and methods available for evaluating forest carbon dynamics,this paper provides an overview of recent progress and forthcoming opportunities in using remote sensing to map forest structure and biomass,detect forest disturbances,determine disturbance attribution,quantify disturbance intensity,and estimate harvested timber volume.Advances in these research areas require large quantities of well—distributed reference data to calibrate remote sensing algorithms and to validate the derived products.In addition,two of the forest carbon pools-dead organic matter and soil carbon—are difficult to monitor using modern remote sensing capabilities.Carefully designed inventory programs are needed to collect the required reference data as well as the data needed to estimate dead organic matter and soil carbon.Chengquan HUANG Weishu GONG Yong PANG 2022Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2022,5,2:5
8Linkage map and QTL mapping of red flesh locus in apple using a R1R1×R6R6 population显示文摘The red flesh in apple fruit is a desired trait by consumers and it is associated to the anthocyanin content,which is mainly controlled by MdMYB10 with a R6 promoter.In this study,a high-density linkage group was constructed using the‘Fuji’x‘Red3’population which contained homozygous alleles R1R1 and R6R6,respectively.The linkage group consists of 7630 SNPs along 17 linkage groups,spanning 2270.21 cM,with an average density of 0.30 cM permarker.The cyanidin-3-galactoside concentration was used as the phenotypic data in QTL analysis.Moreover,one QTL peak which was flaked by two markers,marker2187260 to marker2173766,with LOD scores of 4.49 was detected.This QTL ranged from 0 to 40.79 cM on the top of linkage group(LG16).In addition one candidate molecular marker(marker2175442)in this QTL was identified,which was significant correlated with the flesh cyanidin-3-galactoside concentration.These genetic findings enrich the breeding basis of fruit flesh coloration in apple.Chengquan Yang Guangya Sha Tao Wei Baiquan Ma Cuiying Li Pengmin Li Yangjun Zou Lingfei Xu Fengwang Ma 2021Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,5:4
9Maternal supply of cysteamine alleviates oxidative stress and enhances angiogenesis in porcine placenta显示文摘Background:Oxidative stress in placenta is associated with the occurrence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in sow,but there are few satisfactory treatment strategies for these conditions.This study investigated the potential of cysteamine(CS)as an antioxidant protectant for regulating the reproductive performance,redox status,and placental angiogenesis of sows.Methods:The placental oxidative stress status and vascular density of piglets with different birth weights:<1.0 kg(low birth weight,LBW)and 1.4–1.6 kg(normal birth weight,NBW)were evaluated,followed by allotting 84 sows to four treatments(n=21)and feeding them with a basal diet supplemented with 0,100,300,or 500 mg/kg of CS from d 85 of gestation to d 21 of lactation,respectively.Placenta,serum,and colostrum samples of sows or piglets were collected,and the characteristics of sows and piglets were recorded.Furthermore,the in vivo results were validated using porcine vascular endothelial cells(PVECs).Results:Compared with the NBW placentae,the LBW placentae showed increased oxidative damage and were vulnerable to angiogenesis impairment.Particularly,H2O2-induced oxidative stress prompted intracellular reactive oxygen species generation and inhibited the tube formation and migration of PVECs as well as the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-A(VEGF-A)in vitro.However,dietary CS supplementation can alleviate oxidative stress and improve the reproductive performance of sows.Specifically,compared with the control group,dietary 100 mg/kg CS could(1)decrease the stillbirth and invalid rates,and increase both the piglet birth weight in the low yield sows and the placental efficiency;(2)increase glutathione and reduce malondialdehyde in both the serum and the colostrum of sows;(3)increase the levels of total antioxidant capacity and glutathione in LBW placentae;(4)increase the vascular density,the mRNA level of VEGF-A,and the immune-staining intensity of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 in the LBW placentae.Furthermore,the in vitro experiment indicated that CS pre-treatment could significantly reverse the NADPH oxidase 2-ROS-mediated inactivation of signal transducer and activator of transcription-3(Stat3)signaling pathway induced by H2O2 inhibition of the proliferation,tube formation,and migration of PVECs.Meanwhile,inhibition of Stat3 significantly decreased the cell viability,tube formation and the VEGF-A protein level in CS pretreated with H_(2)O_(2)-cultured PVECs.Conclusions:The results indicated that oxidative stress and impaired angiogenesis might contribute to the occurrence of LBW piglets during pregnancy,but CS supplementation at 100 mg/kg during late gestation and lactation of sows could alleviate oxidative stress and enhance angiogenesis in placenta,thereby increasing birth weight in low yield sows and reducing stillbirth rate.The in vitro data showed that the underlying mechanism for the positive effects of CS might be related to the activation of Stat3 in PVECs.Shuangbo Huang Zifang Wu Zihao Huang Xiangyu Hao Longmiao Zhang Chengjun Hu Jianfu Wei Jinping Deng Chengquan Tan 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,1:4

12A review of the amino acid metabolism in placental function response to fetal loss and low birth weight in pigs显示文摘The fertility of sows mainly depends on the embryo losses during gestation and the survival rate of the postfarrowing piglets.The selection of highly-prolific sows has been mainly focused on the selection of genotypes with high ovulatory quota.However,in the early-and post-implantation stages,the rate of embryo losses was increased with the increase of zygotes.Among the various factors,placental growth and development is the vital determinant for fetal survival,growth,and development.Despite the potential survival of fetuses with deficient placental development,their life-conditions and growth can be damaged by a process termed intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR).The newborn piglets affected by IUGR are prone to increased morbidity and mortality rates;meanwhile,the growth,health and welfare of the surviving piglets will remain hampered by these conditions,with a tendency to exacerbate with age.Functional amino acids such as glycine,proline,and arginine continue to increase with the development of placenta,which are not only essential to placental growth(including vascular growth)and development,but can also be used as substrates for the production of glutathione,polyamines and nitric oxide to benefit placental function in many ways.However,the exact regulation mechanism of these amino acids in placental function has not yet been clarified.In this review,we provide evidence from literature and our own work for the role and mechanism of dietary functional amino acids during pregnancy in regulating the placental functional response to fetal loss and birth weight of piglets.This review will provide novel insights into the response of nutritionally nonessential amino acids(glycine and proline)to placental development as well as feasible strategies to enhance the fertility of sows.Chengquan Tan Zihao Huang Wenyu Xiong Hongxuan Ye Jinping Deng Yulong Yin 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,4:3
13Data mining-based study on sub-mentally healthy state among residents in eight provinces and cities in China显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To apply data mining methods to research on the state of sub-mental health among residents in eight provinces and cities in China and to mine latent knowledge about many conditions through data mining and analysis of data on 3970 sub-mentally healthy individuals selected from 13385 relevant question naires.METHODS: The strategic tree algorithm was used to identify the main mani festations of the state of sub-mental health. The backpropogation artificial neural network was used to analyze the main mani festations of sub-healthy mental states of three different degrees. A sub-mental health evaluation model was then established to achieve predictive evaluationresults.RESULTS: Using classifications from the Scale of Chinese Sub-healthy State, the main manifestations of sub-mental health selected using the strate gictree were F1101(Do you lack peace of mind?),F1102(Are you easily nervous when something comes up?), and F1002(Do you often sigh?). The relative intensity of manifestations of sub-mental health was highest for F1101, followed by F1102,and then F1002. Through study of the neural network, better differentiation could be made between moderate and severe and between mild and severe states of sub-mental health. The differentiation between mild and moderate sub-mental health states was less apparent. Additionally, the sub-mental health state evaluation model, which could be used to predict states of sub-mental health of different individuals, was established using F1101, F1102, F1002, and the mental self-assessment totals core.CONCLUSION: The main manifestations of the state of sub-mental health can be discovered using data mining methods to research and analyze the latent laws and knowledge hidden in research evidence on the state of sub-mental health. The state of sub-mental health of different individuals can be rapidly predicted using the model established here.This can provide a basis for assessment and intervention for sub-mental health. 14对ASC-H的妇女行高危人乳头状瘤病毒DNA检测的临床意义显示文摘目的探讨高危人乳头瘤病毒DNA(hrHPV DNA)辅助检测对宫颈非典型鳞状上皮,不除外高度鳞状上皮内病变(ASC-H)女性疾病的风险评估。方法对1187例ASC-H妇女进行hrHPV感染的流行病学和组织病理学资料调查及分析。结果在277,400例宫颈细胞学检查中判读为ASC-H的1187例中,589例(49.6%)hrHPV DNA检测结果为阳性。对其中505例的组织病理学随访,32.7%hrHPV DNA阳性者系宫颈高度鳞状上皮内病变(CIN2/3),hrHPV DNA阴性妇女仅有1.2%呈CIN2/3改变。hrHPV DNA检测结果提示CIN2/3改变的阳性预测值(PPV)、阴性预测值(NPV)、敏感性和特异性分别是32.7%、98.8%、96.6%和58.6%。该PPV约是单纯细胞学结果ASC-H预测CIN改变的2倍。宫颈/移行区(EC/TZS)样本的存在与否并不影响hrHPV DNA或CIN2/3级的检出率。结论对细胞学判为ASC-H的妇女行hrHPV DNA检测具有较高的临床价值。对hrHPV DNA阴性患者可单纯行常规细胞学随访和hrHPV DNA检测,而不需要进行阴道镜检查,尤其是对40岁以上妇女。Sudeshna Bandyopadhyay R.Marshall Austin David Dabbs Chengquan Zhao 白雪娟 杨敏 赵澄泉 傅新文 2010实验与检验医学2010,28,1:2
15Observation of tiny polarization rotation rate in total internal reflection via weak measurements显示文摘In this paper,we examine the tiny polarization rotation effect in total internal reflection due to the spin–orbit interaction of light.We find that the tiny polarization rotation rate will induce a geometric phase gradient,which can be regarded as the physical origin of photonic spin Hall effect.We demonstrate that the spin-dependent splitting in position space is related to the polarization rotation in momentum space,while the spin-dependent splitting in momentum space is attributed to the polarization rotation in position space.Furthermore,we introduce a quantum weak measurement to determine the tiny polarization rotation rate.The rotation rate in momentum space is obtained with 118 nm,which manifests itself as a spatial shift,and the rotation rate in position space is achieved with 38 μrad∕λ,which manifests itself as an angular shift.The investigation of the polarization rotation characteristics will provide insights into the photonic spin Hall effect and will enable us to better understand the spin–orbit interaction of light.CHENGQUAN MI SHIZHEN CHEN XINXING ZHOU KAI TIAN HAILU LUO SHUANGCHUN WEN 2017Photonics Research2017,5,2:2
16High-voltage 4H-SiC PiN diodes with the etched implant junction termination extension显示文摘This paper presents the design and fabrication of an etched implant junction termination extension(JTE)for high-voltage 4H-SiC PiN diodes. Unlike the conventional JTE structure, the proposed structure utilizes multiple etching steps to achieve the optimum JTE concentration range. The simulation results show that the etched implant JTE method can improve the blocking voltage of SiC PiN diodes and also provides broad process latitude for parameter variations, such as implantation dose and activation annealing condition. The fabricated SiC PiN diodes with the etched implant JTE exhibit a highest blocking voltage of 4.5 kV and the forward on-state voltage of 4.6 V at room temperature. 17Genesis of the Ciemas Gold Deposit and Relationship with Epithermal Deposits in West Java,Indonesia:Constraints from Fluid Inclusions and Stable Isotopes显示文摘The Ciemas gold deposit is located in West Java of Indonesia,which is a Cenozoic magmatism belt resulting from the Indo-Australian plate subducting under the Eurasian plate.Two different volcanic rock belts and associated epithermal deposits are distributed in West Java:the younger late Miocene-Pliocene magmatic belt generated the Pliocene-Pleistocene epithermal deposits,while the older late Eocene-early Miocene magmatic belt generated the Miocene epithermal deposits.To constrain the physico-chemical conditions and the origin of the ore fluid in Ciemas,a detailed study of ore petrography,fluid inclusions,laser Raman spectroscopy,oxygen-hydrogen isotopes for quartz was conducted.The results show that hydrothermal pyrite and quartz are widespread,hydrothermal alteration is well developed,and that leaching structures such as vuggy rocks and extension structures such as comb quartz are common.Fluid inclusions in quartz are mainly liquid-rich two phase inclusions,with fluid compositions in the NaCl-H20 fluid system,and contain no or little CO_2.Their homogenization temperatures cluster around 240℃-320℃,the salinities lie in the range of 14-17 wt.%NaCl equiv,and the calculated fluid densities are 0.65-1.00 g/cm^3.The values of δ^(18)O_(H2O-VSMOW)for quartz range from +5.5‰ to +7.7‰,the δD_(VSMOW) of fluid inclusions in quartz ranges from-70‰ to-115‰.All of these data indicate that mixing of magmatic fluid with meteoric water resulted in the formation of the Ciemas deposit.A comparison among gold deposits of West Java suggests that Miocene epithermal ore deposits in the southernmost part of West Java were more affected by magmatic fluids and exhibit a higher degree of sulfldation than those of Pliocene-Pleistocene.ZHENG Chaofei ZHANG Zhengwei WU Chengquan YAO Junhua 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,3:2
18Characterizing long-term forest disturbance history and its drivers in the Ning-Zhen Mountains, Jiangsu Province of eastern China using yearly Landsat observations (1987–2011)显示文摘Forest losses or gains have long been recognized as critical processes modulating the carbon flux between the biosphere and the atmosphere. Timely, accurate and spatially explicit information on forest disturbance and recovery history is required for assessing the effectiveness of existing forest management. The major objectives of our research focused on testing the mapping efficacy of the vegetation change tracker(VCT) model over a forested area in China. We used a new version of VCT algorithm built upon the Landsat time series stacks(LTSS). The LTSS consisted of yearly image acquisitions to map forest disturbance history from 1987 to 2011 over the Ning-Zhen Mountains, Jiangsu Province of east China. The LTSS consisted of TM and ETM+ scenes with different projections due to distinct data sources(Beijing remote sensing ground station and the USGS EROS Center). The validation results of the disturbance year maps showed that most spatial agreement measures ranged from 70 to 86 %,comparable with the VCT accuracies reported for many places in USA. Very low accuracies were identified in 1995(38.3 %) and 1992(56.2 %) in the current analysis. These resulted from the insensitivity of the VCT algorithm to detect low intensity disturbances and also from the misregistration errors of the image pairs. Major forest disturbance types existing in our study area were identified as agricultural expansion(39.8 %), urbanization(24.9 %),forest management practice(19.3 %), and mining(12.8 %). In general, there was a gradual decreasing trend in forest cover throughout this region, caused principally by China's economic, demographic, environmental and political policies and decisions, as well as some weather events. 19Effects of the fourth component and undercooling on morphology of primary Mg-Zn-Y icosahedral quasicrystal phase under normal casting conditions显示文摘The paper presents some results of the investigation on effects of the fourth component(Ti,C,Sb or Cu)and undercooling on the morphology,size and forming process of primary Mg-Zn-Y icosahedral quasicrystal phase(I-phase)under normal casting conditions.The result shows that the addition of certain amount of fourth component can transform I-phase morphology from petal-like to spherical.However,I-phase will grow up to petal-like if superfluous addition of the fourth component applied.It is also found that the solidified morphology of I-phase depends on the stability of spherical I-phase during the subsequent growth,and critical radius of maintaining the spherical I-phase interface relatively stable.Further,mini-sized spherical I-phase can be produced with high content of the fourth component by undercooling.Such findings are beneficial for industrializing Mgbased quasicrystals.Wang Zhifeng Zhao Weimin Bo-Young Hur Huang Chunying Yu Chengquan 2009China Foundry2009,6,4:2
20Starch supplementation improves the reproductive performance of sows in different glucose tolerance status显示文摘This study was to evaluate the effects of glucose tolerance status,maternal starch supplementation and soybean substitution in diets on the performance of dams and their offspring.Eighty-eight pregnant sows(Landrace x Large White)were selected from an initial total of 120 sows,based on blood glucose test values,and assigned to 4 experimental treatments in a 2×2 factorial design.The factors were glucose tolerance status(glucose intolerant[GIT]vs.normal glucose tolerant[NGT])or dietary treatments(corn starch diet[CS]vs.soybean substitution diet[SSI]).A higher area under the curve(AUC)for post-meal glucose was observed(P<0.05)in the GIT group than in the NGT group on d 109 of gestation.The CS group had a lower value of homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance than the SS group(P<0.05)on d 109 of gestation.Corn starch supplementation for sows decreased the stillbirth rate(P<0.05),regardless of the sows’glucose tolerance status.The villus height of the jejunum and the villus height to crypt depth ratio of the ileum were greater in normal birth weight piglets from the CS group than from the SS group(P<0.01),and so was the activity of sucrase in the jejunum and ileum(P<0.01).Compared with the SS group,the CS group showed a reduction in pre-weaning mortality rate,an increase in the number of high-birth-weight piglets,and a decrease in the number of low-birth-weight piglets(P<0.05)under GIT status.In conclusion,sows fed CS decreased stillbirth rate and improved insulin resistance,as well as improving the intestinal morphology and digestive enzyme activities of their progeny,regardless of glucose tolerance status.Additionally,the CS group improved birth weight distribution and decreased pre-weaning mortality rate of piglets under GIT status.Yunyu Yang Ming Deng Jianzhao Chen Xichen Zhao Kaili Xiao Wenliang He Xinggang Qiu Yanzhen Xu Yulong Yin Chengquan Tan 2021Animal Nutrition2021,,4:2
