2High-Resolution Records of the Holocene Paleoenvironmental Variation Reflected by Carbonate and Its Isotopic Compositions in Bosten Lake and Response to Glacial Activities显示文摘The Early Holocene paleoclimate in Bosten Lake on the northern margin of the Tarim Basin, southern Xinjiang, is reconstructed through an analysis of a 953 cm long core (BSTC2000) taken from Bosten Lake. Multiple proxies of this core, including the mineral components of carbonate, carbonate content, stable isotopic compositions of carbonate, Ca/Sr, TOC and C/N and C/S of organic matter, are used to reconstruct the climatic change since 8500 a B.P. The chronology model is made by nine AMS 14C ages of leaves, seeds and organic matter contained in two parallel cores. The climate was cold and wet during 8500 to 8100 a B.P. Temperature increased from 8100 to 6400 a B.P., the climate was warm and humid, and the lake expanded. The lake level was highest during this stage. Then from 6400 to 5100 a B.P., the climate became cold and the lake level decreased slightly. During the late mid-Holocene, the climate was hot and dry from 5100 to 3100 a B.P., but there was a short cold period during 4400 to 3800 a B.P. At this temporal interval, a mass of ice and snow melting water supplied the lake at the early time and made the lake level rise. The second highest lake level stage occurred during 5200 to 3800 a B.P. The climate was cool and wet during 3100 to 2200 a B.P., when the lake expanded with decreasing evaporation. The lake had the last short-term high level during 3100 to 2800 a B.P. After this short high lake level period, the lake shrank because of the long-term lower temperature and reduced water supply. From 2200 to 1200 a B.P., the climate was hot and dry, and the lake shrank greatly. Although the temperature decreased somewhat from 1200 a B.P. to the present, the climate was warm and dry. 3U–Pb Zircon Geochronology and Geochemistry of the Neoproterozoic Liujiaping Group Volcanics in the Northwest Margin of the Yangtze Block:Implications For the Breakup of the Rodinia Supercontinent显示文摘Investigation of the petrogenesis and the origin of zircons from the volcanic rocks of the Liujiaping Group of the back-Longmenshan tectonic belt in the northwest margin of the Yangtze Block is conducted by analysis of U–Pb geochronology and geochemistry. Results show that selected zircons are characterized by internal oscillatory zonings and high Th/U ratios(0.43–1.18), indicating an igneous origin. Geochronological results of LA–ICP–MS U–Pb dating of the Liujiaping Group zircons yield an age of 809 ± 11 Ma(MSWD = 2.2), implying that the volcanic rocks were formed in the Late Neoproterozoic. Geochemical analysis shows that the rocks are calc-alkaline, supersaturated in Al, and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous. Rare-earth elements are present at high concentrations(96.04–265.48 ppm) and show a rightward incline and a moderately negative Eu anomaly, similar to that of continental rift rhyolite. Trace element geochemistry is characterized by evident negative anomalies of Nb, Ta, P, Th, Ti, inter alia, and strong negative anomalies of K, Rb, Sr, et al. 4Geochronology, Geochemistry and Tectonic Setting of the Bairiqiete Granodiorite Intrusion(Rock Mass) from the Buqingshan Tectonic Mélange Belt in the Southern Margin of East Kunlun显示文摘This study focuses on the zircon U–Pb geochronology and geochemistry of the Bairiqiete granodiorite intrusion(rock mass) from the Buqingshan tectonic mélange belt in the southern margin of East Kunlun. The results show that the zircons are characterized by internal oscillatory zoning and high Th/U(0.14–0.80), indicative of an igneous origin. LA–ICP–MS U–Pb dating of zircons from the Bairiqiete granodiorite yielded an age of 439.0 ± 1.9 Ma(MSWD = 0.34), implying that the Bairiqiete granodiorite formed in the early Silurian. Geochemical analyses show that the rocks are medium-K calc-alkaline, relatively high in Al2O3(14.57–18.34 wt%) and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous. Rare-earth elements have low concentrations(45.49–168.31 ppm) and incline rightward with weak negative to weak positive Eu anomalies(δEu = 0.64–1.34). Trace-element geochemistry is characterized by negative anomalies of Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf and Ti and positive anomalies of Rb, Th and Ba. Moreover, the rocks have similar geochemical features with adakites. The Bairiqiete granodiorite appears to have a continental crust source and formed in a subduction-related island-arc setting. 6Lipid accumulation and CO_2 utilization of two marine oil-rich microalgal strains in response to CO_2 aeration显示文摘Biological CO_2 sequestration by microalgae is a promising and environmentally friendly technology applied to sequester CO_2. The characteristics of neutral lipid accumulation by two marine oil-rich microalgal strains,namely, Isochrysis galbana and Nannochloropsis sp., through CO_2 enrichment cultivation were investigated in this study. The optimum culture conditions of the two microalgal strains are 10% CO_2 and f medium. The maximum biomass productivity, total lipid content, maximum lipid productivity, carbon content, and CO_2 fixation ability of the two microalgal strains were obtained. The corresponding parameters of the two strains were as follows:((142.42±4.58) g/(m^2·d),(149.92±1.80) g/(m^2·d)),((39.95±0.77)%,(37.91±0.58)%),((84.47±1.56) g/(m^2·d),(89.90±1.98) g/(m^2·d)),((45.98±1.75)%,(46.88±2.01)%), and((33.74±1.65) g/(m^2·d),(34.08±1.32) g/(m^2·d)). 8Reactive MnO_(2) template-assisted synthesis of double-shelled PPy hollow nanotubes to boost microwave absorption显示文摘Microwave absorbing materials(MAMs)with wide effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)and low filling ratio are highly desirable for practical applications.Rational design in components and structures is one of the effective strategies to achieve MAMs with high performance.Herein,double-shelled hollow(DSH)polypyrrole(PPy)nanotubes were synthesized with hydrochloric acid(HCl)and sodium pstyrene sulfonate(SS)co-doping polymerization process using manganese dioxide(MnO_(2))nanorods as a self-sacrifice template.With the increase of HCl concentration,the 1D MnO_(2) core diminishes gradually to form the MnO_(2)@PPy coaxial nanostructures and finally the DSH PPy nanotube,which tunes the microwave absorption performance.Importantly,the DSH PPy nanotubes exhibit excellent microwave absorption of an optimal reflection loss of–50.4 dB and a wide EAB of 7.7 GHz with a low filling ratio of 5 wt%in a paraffin wax matrix.The excellent microwave absorption is believed to be mainly attributed to the enhanced synergistic effects of interfacial polarization and conduction loss arising from the unique DSH structure and the co-doping polymerization.Huiling Gu Ji Huang Na Li Hua Yang Gang Chen Chengjun Dong Chunhong Gong Hongtao Guan 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,15:3
9Geochemical characteristics of hadal sediment in the northern Yap Trench显示文摘Two sediment cores were retrieved in the hadal zone of the Yap Trench,and their concentrations of six major elements Mg,Al,Ca,Ti,Mn and Fe and nine trace elements Sr,Ba,Pb,V,Cr,Co,Ni,Cu and Zn were determined in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES).According to the vertical distribution profiles of the 15 elements,the correlation of their concentrations,the ratios of Ni/Co,V/Cr,Fe/Al,and Ti/Al,and morphological characteristics of the sediment samples,the implications of the depositional environment and the sediment provenance were analyzed.The results show that the ratio of Ni/Co in all depths of the two sediment cores were below 5,and the ratio of V/Cr were lower than 2,indicating that the depositional environment of the hadal zone in the trench was oxidative and might have inflow of the Antarctic bottom oxygen-rich water.The sediment samples on the eastern side of the trench were siliceous mud mainly composed of diatoms,radiolarian,and sponge needles from surface to deep layer.The vertical profile of the elements,the concentration of TOC and the fossil record indicated that the sediment sample from station Dive113 was well mixed from surface to bottom layer.Based on the correlation of concentrations of the elements,the morphological characteristics of the sediment,and the ratios of Fe/Al and Ti/Al,we inferred that the sediment in the hadal zone of the trench had terrestrial,volcanic,biological,and authigenic sources.Major source of the sediment in the eastern side of the trench were terrestrial;whereas the sediment in the western side of the trench received more volcaniclastic input.HUANG Yuhuan SUN Chengjun YANG Guipeng YUE Xin’an JIANG Fenghua CAO Wei YIN Xiaofei GUO Chaonan NIU Jiaohong DING Haibing 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3:3
10Hydration of Activated Anhydrate Phosphogypsum显示文摘Phosphogypsum(PG) calcined at 500 ℃ was activated by K2SO4 and salt lime with loose structure as seed crystal. To determine the effect of activation, hydration of the anhydrate PG activated was investigated by examination of the setting time, the proportion of hydrated anhydrate PG, the microstructure of the hardenite and the resistance to water. Results show that activated anhydrate PG hydrates much more rapidly than that in the absence of activators. The activated anhydrate PG has proper setting time and hydrated proportion. The resistance to water was greatly improved. SEM photos show that the set activated PG has hydrated products of rod-like and closely connected crystals. 11Distribution characteristics of lipids in hadal sediment in the Yap Trench显示文摘In this study,cored sediment samples collected by the Jiaolong Submersible at 6779 m depth from the hadal zone of the Yap Trench in May 2016 were sliced in 1-cm interval from top to bottom,and lipids in each sediment layer were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed.The vertical distribution profiles of the lipids in the sediment sample,their main existing forms,and their possible sources were investigated.The results show that the concentration of lipid in the surface sediment was the highest with the carbon number from 12 to 27,dominated by medium and short-chain lipids.The total concentration of fatty acids in surface sediment was much higher than those in the offshore and deep-sea areas,being up to 325.77μg/g due to the funnel effect caused by the“V”terrain of the trench.Fatty acid 18:0 was the most abundant lipids in the sediment sample.Abnormal high concentrations of fatty acid 18:1ω7 and alkanes indicated the existence of hydrothermal fluids in the study area.In addition,saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids existed mainly in free form,and polyunsaturated fatty acids existed mainly in bound form.Most of the alkanes were in bound form,and their major source was autochthounous input.The carbon number of alcohols in the sediment sample ranged from 12 to 20,mainly existed in bound form.The source of fatty acids was mainly autochthonous input,and the neutral lipids had both marine and terrestrial origin.This is the first study of lipids in hadal sediment of the Yap Trench.The results will promote deeper understanding of organic carbon cycle in marine environment.YAN Yixin SUN Chengjun HUANG Yuhuan CAO Wei JIANG Fenghua YANG Guipeng DING Haibing 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3:2
12Effect of sericin on diabetic hippocampal growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor 1 axis显示文摘Previous studies have shown that sericin extracted from silk cocoon significantly reduces blood glucose levels and protects the nervous system against diabetes mellitus. In this study, a rat type 2 diabetes mellitus model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 25 mg/kg streptozotocin for 3 successive days, following which the rats were treated with sericin for 35 days. After treatment, the blood glucose levels of the diabetic rats decreased significantly, the growth hormone level in serum and its expression in the hippocampus decreased significantly, while the insulin-like growth factor-1 level in serum and insulin-like growth factor-1 and growth hormone receptor expression in the hippocampus increased significantly. 14Towards High-Energy and Anti-Self-Discharge Zn-Ion Hybrid Supercapacitors with New Understanding of the Electrochemistry显示文摘Aqueous Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSs)are increasingly being studied as a novel electrochemical energy storage system with prominent electrochemical performance,high safety and low cost.Herein,high-energy and anti-self-discharge ZHSs are realized based on the fibrous carbon cathodes with hierarchically porous surface and O/N heteroatom functional groups.Hierarchically porous surface of the fabricated free-standing fibrous carbon cathodes not only provides abundant active sites for divalent ion storage,but also optimizes ion transport kinetics.Consequently,the cathodes show a high gravimetric capacity of 156 mAh g^(−1),superior rate capability(79 mAh g^(−1)with a very short charge/discharge time of 14 s)and exceptional cycling stability.Meanwhile,hierarchical pore structure and suitable surface functional groups of the cathodes endow ZHSs with a high energy density of 127 Wh kg−1,a high power density of 15.3 kW kg^(−1)and good anti-self-discharge performance.Mechanism investigation reveals that ZHS electrochemistry involves cation adsorption/desorption and Zn_(4)SO_(4)(OH)_(6)·5H_(2)O formation/dissolution at low voltage and anion adsorption/desorption at high voltage on carbon cathodes.The roles of these reactions in energy storage of ZHSs are elucidated.This work not only paves a way for high-performance cathode materials of ZHSs,but also provides a deeper understanding of ZHS electrochemistry.Yang Li Wang Yang Wu Yang Ziqi Wang Jianhua Rong Guoxiu Wang Chengjun Xu Feiyu Kang Liubing Dong 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,6:2
15Sericin protects against diabetes-induced injuries in sciatic nerve and related nerve cells显示文摘Sericin from discarded silkworm cocoons of silk reeling has been used in different fields,such as cosmetology,skin care,nutrition,and oncology.The present study established a rat model of type 2 diabetes by consecutive intraperitoneal injections of low-dose (25 mg/kg) streptozotocin.After intragastrical perfusion of sericin for 35 days,blood glucose levels significantly declined,and the expression of neurofilament protein in the sciatic nerve and nerve growth factor in L4-6 spinal ganglion and anterior horn cells significantly increased.However,the expression of neuropeptide Y in spinal ganglion and anterior horn cells significantly decreased in model rats.These findings indicate that sericin protected the sciatic nerve and related nerve cells against injury in a rat type 2 diabetic model by upregulating the expression of neurofilament protein in the sciatic nerve and nerve growth factor in spinal ganglion and anterior horn cells,and downregulating the expression of neuropeptide Y in spinal ganglion and anterior horn cells.Chengjun Song Zhenjun Yang Meirong Zhong Zhihong Chen 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,6:2

17Continued evolution of the Eurasian avian-like H1N1 swine influenza viruses in China显示文摘Animal influenza viruses continue to pose a threat to human public health. The Eurasian avian-like H1N1(EA H1N1) viruses are widespread in pigs throughout Europe and China and have caused human infections in several countries, indicating their pandemic potential. To carefully monitor the evolution of the EA H1N1 viruses in nature, we collected nasal swabs from 103,110pigs in 22 provinces in China between October 2013 and December 2019, and isolated 855 EA H1N1 viruses. Genomic analysis of 319 representative viruses revealed that these EA H1N1 viruses formed eight different genotypes through reassortment with viruses of other lineages circulating in humans and pigs, and two of these genotypes(G4 and G5) were widely distributed in pigs.Animal studies indicated that some strains have become highly pathogenic in mice and highly transmissible in ferrets via respiratory droplets. Moreover, two-thirds of the EA H1N1 viruses reacted poorly with ferret serum antibodies induced by the currently used H1N1 human influenza vaccine, suggesting that existing immunity may not prevent the transmission of the EA H1N1 viruses in humans. 18Guiding magnetic liquid metal for flexible circuit显示文摘Liquid metal(LM) has potential applications in flexible electronics due to its high electrical conductivity and high flexibility. However, common methods of printing LM circuits on soft substrates lack controllability, precision, and the ability to repair a damaged circuit. In this paper, we propose a method that uses a magnetic field to guide a magnetic LM(MLM) droplet to print and repair a flexible LM circuit on a femtosecond(fs) laser-patterned silicone surface.After mixing magnetic iron(Fe) particles into LM, the movement of the resultant MLM droplet could be controlled by a magnetic field. A patterned structure composed of the untreated flat domain and the LM-repellent rough microstructure produced by fs laser ablation was prepared on the silicone substrate. As an MLM droplet was guided onto the designed pattern, a soft LM circuit with smooth, uniform, and high-precision LM lines was obtained. Interestingly, the MLM droplet could also be guided to repair the circuit broken LM lines, and the repaired circuit maintained its original electrical properties.
