1Thymosin Alpha-1 Inhibits Complete Freund’s Adjuvant-Induced Pain and Production of Microglia-Mediated Pro-inflammatory Cytokines in Spinal Cord显示文摘Activation of inflammatory responses regulates the transmission of pain pathways through an integrated network in the peripheral and central nervous systems.The immunopotentiator thymosin alpha-1(Tal)has recently been reported to have anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective functions in rodents.However,how Tα1 affects inflammatory pain remains unclear.In the present study,intraperitoneal injection of Tal attenuated complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA)-induced pain hypersensitivity,and decreased the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6)in inflamed skin and the spinal cord.We found that CFA-induced peripheral inflammation evoked strong microglial activation,but the effect was reversed by Tα1.Notably,Tα1 reversed the CFA-induced up-regulation of vesicular glutamate transporter(VGLUT)and down-regulated the vesicular γ-aminobutyric acid transporter(VGAT)in the spinal cord.Taken together,these results suggest that Tα1 plays a therapeutic role in inflammatory pain and in the modulation of microgliainduced pro-inflammatory cytokine production in addition to mediation of VGLUT and VGAT expression in the spinal cord.Yunlong Xu Yanjun Jiang Lin Wang Jiahua Huang Junmao Wen Hang Lv Xiaoli Wu Chaofan Wan Chuanxin Yu Wenjie Zhang Jiaying Zhao Yinqi Zhou Yongjun Chen 2019Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,4:4
2A vacuum ultraviolet laser with a submicrometer spot for spatially resolved photoemission spectroscopy显示文摘Vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)lasers have demonstrated great potential as the light source for various spectroscopies,which,if they can be focused into a small beam spot,will not only allow investigation of mesoscopic materials and structures but also find application in the manufacture of nano-objects with excellent precision.In this work,we report the construction of a 177 nm VUV laser that can achieve a record-small(〜0.76 μm)focal spot at a long focal length(~45 mm)by using a flat lens without spherical aberration.The size of the beam spot of this VUV laser was tested using a metal grating and exfoliated graphene flakes,and we demonstrated its application in a fluorescence spectroscopy study on pure and Tm3+-doped NaYF4 microcrystals,revealing a new emission band that cannot be observed in the traditional up-conversion process.In addition,this laser system would be an ideal light source for spatially and angleresolved photoemission spectroscopy.Yuanhao Mao Dong Zhao Shen Yan Hongjia Zhang Juan Li Kai Han Xiaojun Xu Chuan Guo Lexian Yang Chaofan Zhang Kun Huang Yulin Chen 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,3:3
3The recent development of soft x-ray interference lithography in SSRF显示文摘This paper introduces the recent progress in methodologies and their related applications based on the soft x-ray interference lithography beamline in the Shanghai synchrotron radiation facility.Dual-beam,multibeam interference lithography and Talbot lithography have been adopted as basic methods in the beamline.To improve the experimental performance,a precise real-time vibration evaluation system has been established;and the lithography stability has been greatly improved.In order to meet the demands for higher resolution and practical application,novel experimental methods have been developed,such as high-order diffraction interference exposure,high-aspect-ratio and large-area stitching exposure,and parallel direct writing achromatic Talbot lithography.As of now,a 25 nm half-pitch pattern has been obtained;and a cm2 exposure area has been achieved in practical samples.The above methods have been applied to extreme ultraviolet photoresist evaluation,photonic crystal and surface plasmonic effect research,and so on.Jun Zhao Shumin Yang Chaofan Xue Liansheng Wang Zhaofeng Liang Lei Zhang Yong Wang Yanqing Wu Renzhong Tai 2020International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2020,2,1:2
4Application of passive source surface-wave method in site engineering seismic survey显示文摘Site engineering seismic survey provides basic data for seismic effect analysis. As an important parameter of soil, shear-wave velocity is usually obtained through wave velocity testing in borehole. In this paper, the passive source surface-wave method is introduced into the site engineering seismic survey and practically applied in an engineering site of Shijingshan District. By recording the ubiquitous weak vibration on the earth surface, extract the dispersion curve from the surface-wave components using the SPAC method and obtain the shear-wave velocity structure from inversion. Over the depth of 42 m underground, it totally consists of five layers with interface depth of 3.31, 4.50, 7.23, 17.41, and 42.00 m; and shear-wave velocity of 144.0, 198.3, 339.4, 744.2, and 903.7 m/s, respectively. The inversion result is used to evaluate site classification, determine the maximum shear modulus of soil, provide basis for further seismic hazard analysis and site assessment or site zoning, etc. The result shows that the passive source surface-wave method is feasible in the site engineering seismic survey and can replace boreholes,shorten survey period, and reduce engineering cost to some extent.Chaofan Wang Jian Zhang Lihui Yan Hui Liu Dong Zhao 2014Earthquake Science2014,27,1:2
5Micro/nano-mechanical behaviors of individual FCC,BCC and FCC/BCC interphase in a high-entropy alloy显示文摘Here,a systematic investigation was made on the interphase strengthening effects induced superior me-chanical performances of multiphase high-entropy alloys(HEAs)at micro/nano-scale,compared with sin-gle phase HEAs.A pillar compression test under a scanning electron microscope(SEM)was performed on the individual face centered cubic(FCC),body centered cubic(BCC),and mixed-phases with different di-ameters in a Fe_(24)Co_(25)Ni_(24)Cr_(23)Al_(4)HEA using focused ion beam(FIB)milling and a nanoindenter equipped with a flat punch.The stress-strain response of pillar underneath the indenter was selected to explore the diameter/phase-dependent size effect,the periodically fluctuation of local stress,and strain hardening.It was revealed that the pillars at the interphase exhibited significantly higher strength,compared with the FCC and BCC pillars.An experiment also verified the coincident mechanical size effects independent with the type of phases.The stress responses in the mixed-phase pillars manifested as a distinct transition from the dramatic drop to the minor fluctuation during the post-yield stages with the increasing strain,indicating the propagation of Al-Ni enriched solid solution phase(BCC1)under compression.Except the BCC1 phase,numerous dislocations were observed in the post-deformed pillars,particularly serving as the major source to enhance the strain hardening of BCC pillars.Wei Zhang Zhichao Ma Chaofan Li Chaowei Guo Dongni Liu Hongwei Zhao Luquan Ren 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,19:1
6Tuning exsolution of nanoparticles in defect engineered layered perovskite oxides for efficient CO_(2) electrolysis显示文摘Solid oxide electrolysis cell(SOEC) could be a potential technology to afford chemical storage of renewable electricity by converting water and carbon dioxide.In this work,we present the Ni-doped layered perovskite oxides,(La_(4)Sr_(n-4))_(0.9)Ti_(0.9n)Ni_(0.1n)O_(3n+2) with n=5,8,and 12(LSTNn) for application as catalysts of CO_(2) electrolysis with the exsolution of Ni nanoparticles through a simple in-situ growth method.It is found that the density,size,and distribution of exsolved Ni nanoparticles are determined by the number of n in LSTNn due to the different stack structures of TiO_6 octahedra along the c axis.The Ni doping in LSTNn significantly improved the electrochemical activity by increasing oxygen vacancies,and the Ni metallic nanoparticles afford much more active sites.The results show that LSTNn cathodes can successfully be manipulated the activity by controlling both the n number and Ni exsolution.Among these LSTNn(n=5,8,and 12),LSTN8 renders a higher activity for electrolysis of CO_(2) with a current density of 1.50A cm^(-2)@2.0 V at 800℃ It is clear from these results that the number of n in(La_(4)Sr_(n-4))_(0.9)Ti_(0.9n)Ni_(0.1n)O_(3n+2)with Ni-doping is a key factor in controlling the electrochemical performance and catalytic activity in SOEC.Zhengrong Liu Jun Zhou Yueyue Sun Xiangling Yue Jiaming Yang Lei Fu Qinyuan Deng Hongfei Zhao Chaofan Yin Kai Wu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,9:1
7Early specializations for mimicry and defense in a Jurassic stick insect显示文摘Mimicry and secondary defense are staples among predator–prey interactions.Among insects,the stick and leaf insects are masters of camouflage.Nonetheless,a meager understanding of their origin and early mimetic evolution persists.Here,we report the earliest mimetic and defensive strategies of a stick insect from the Middle Jurassic of China,Aclistophasma echinulatum gen.et sp.nov.,exquisitely preserving abdominal extensions and femoral spines.The distribution of these characteristics mapped onto the phylogeny of Phasmatodea reveals that abdominal extensions and femoral spines developed multiple times during the evolution of stick insects,and indicates that the origin of abdominal extensions predates other modifications,while tergal extensions predate other expansions of the body,such as those of the sterna and pleura,as well as defensive femoral spines.The new fossil provides clues into early antipredator defensive strategies,allows inferences as to the potential environment and predators,and reveals the mimetic and defensive mechanisms of stick insects from 165 million years ago.Hongru Yang Chaofan Shi Michael S.Engel Zhipeng Zhao Dong Ren Taiping Gao 2021National Science Review2021,8,1:1
8Combining radiation and the ATR inhibitor berzosertib activates STING signaling and enhances immunotherapy via inhibiting SHP1 function in colorectal cancer显示文摘Background:Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)targeting programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)have shown a moderate response in colorectal cancer(CRC)with deficient mismatch repair(dMMR)functions and poor response in patients with proficientMMR(pMMR).pMMRtumors are generally immunogenically“cold”,emphasizing combination strategies to turn the“cold”tumor“hot”to enhance the efficacy of ICIs.ATR inhibitors(ATRi)have been proven to cooperate with radiation to promote antitumor immunity,but it is unclear whether ATRi could facilitate the efficacy of IR and ICI combinations in CRCs.This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of combining ATRi,irradiation(IR),and anti-PD-L1 antibodies in CRC mouse models with different microsatellite statuses.Methods:The efficacy of combining ATRi,IR,and anti-PD-L1 antibodies was evaluated in CRC tumors.The tumor microenvironment and transcriptome signatures were investigated under different treatment regimens.The mechanisms were explored via cell viability assay,flow cytometry,immunofluorescence,immunoblotting,co-immunoprecipitation,and real-time quantitative PCR in multiple murine and human CRC cell lines.Results:Combining ATRi berzosertib and IR enhanced CD8+T cell infiltration and enhanced the efficacy of anti-PD-L1 therapy in mouse CRC models with different microsatellite statuses.The mechanistic study demonstrated that IR+ATRi could activate both the canonical cGAS-STING-pTBK1/pIRF3 axis by increasing cytosolic double-stranded DNA levels and the non-canonical STING signaling by attenuating SHP1-mediated inhibition of the TRAF6-STINGp65 axis,via promoting SUMOylation of SHP1 at lysine 127.By boosting the STING signaling,IR+ATRi induced type I interferon-related gene expression and strong innate immune activation and reinvigorated the cold tumor microenvironment,thus facilitating immunotherapy.Conclusions:The combination of ATRi and IR could facilitate anti-PD-L1 therapy by promoting STING signaling in CRC models with different microsatellite statuses.The new combination strategy raised by our study isworth investigating in the management of CRC.Chaofan Liu Xi Wang Wan Qin Jingyao Tu Chunya Li Weiheng Zhao Li Ma Bo Liu Hong Qiu Xianglin Yuan 2023Cancer Communications2023,43,4:1

10Near-infrared chemiluminescent carbon nanogels for oncology imaging and therapy显示文摘Carbon nanogels(CNGs)with dual ability of reactive oxygen species(ROS)imaging and photodynamic therapy have been designed with selfassembled chemiluminescent carbonized polymer dots(CPDs).With efficient deep-red/near-infrared chemiluminescence(CL)emission and distinctive photodynamic capacity,the H2O2-driven chemiluminescent CNGs are further designed by assembling the polymeric conjugate and CL donors,enabling an in vitro and in vivo ROS bioimaging capability in animal inflammation models and a high-performance therapy for xenograft tumors.Mechanistically,ROS generated in inflammatory sites or tumor microenvironment can trigger the chemically initiated electron exchange luminescence in the chemical reaction of peroxalate and H2O2,enabling in vivo CL imaging.Meanwhile,part of the excited-state electrons will transfer to the ambient H2O or dissolved oxygen and in turn lead to the type I and type II photochemical ROS production of hydroxyl radicals or singlet oxygen,endowing the apoptosis of tumor cells and thus enabling cancer therapy.These results open up a new avenue for the design of multifunctional nanomaterials for bioimaging and antienoplastic agents.Chenglong Shen Tianci Jiang Qing Lou Wenbo Zhao Chaofan Lv Guangsong Zheng Hangrui Liu Pengfei Li Lingling Dai Kaikai Liu Jinhao Zang Feng Wang Lin Dong Songnan Qu Zhe Cheng Chongxin Shan 2022SmartMat2022,3,2:1
11Effects of iron precursors on the structure and catalytic performance of iron molybdate prepared by mechanochemical route for methanol to formaldehyde显示文摘Mechanochemical synthesis has been applied for many novel material preparations and gained more and more attention due to green and high-efficiency recently. In order to explore the influences of iron precursors on structure and performance of iron molybdate catalyst prepared by mechanochemical route, three typical and cheap iron precursors have been used in preparation of iron molybdate catalyst. Many characterization methods have been employed to obtain the physical and chemical properties of iron molybdate catalyst. Results indicate that iron precursors have the significant impact on the phase composition, crystal morphology and catalytic performance in the conversion of methanol to formaldehyde. It is hard to regulate the phase composition by changing Mo/Fe mole ratios for Fe2(SO4)3 as iron precursor. In addition, as for Fe2(SO4)3, the formaldehyde yield is lower than that from iron molybdate catalyst prepared with Fe(NO3)3·9H2O due to the reduction in Fe2(MoO4)3 phase as active phase. Based on mechanochemical and coprecipitation method, the solvent water could be a key factor for the formation of MoO3 and Fe2(MoO4) for FeCl3·6H2O and Fe2(SO4)3 as precursors. 17Tibetan Question Generation Based on Sequence to Sequence Model显示文摘As the dual task of question answering,question generation(QG)is a significant and challenging task that aims to generate valid and fluent questions from a given paragraph.The QG task is of great significance to question answering systems,conversational systems,and machine reading comprehension systems.Recent sequence to sequence neural models have achieved outstanding performance in English and Chinese QG tasks.However,the task of Tibetan QG is rarely mentioned.The key factor impeding its development is the lack of a public Tibetan QG dataset.Faced with this challenge,the present paper first collects 425 articles from the Tibetan Wikipedia website and constructs 7,234 question–answer pairs through crowdsourcing.Next,we propose a Tibetan QG model based on the sequence to sequence framework to generate Tibetan questions from given paragraphs.Secondly,in order to generate answer-aware questions,we introduce an attention mechanism that can capture the key semantic information related to the answer.Meanwhile,we adopt a copy mechanism to copy some words in the paragraph to avoid generating unknown or rare words in the question.Finally,experiments show that our model achieves higher performance than baseline models.We also further explore the attention and copy mechanisms,and prove their effectiveness through experiments.Yuan Sun Chaofan Chen Andong Chen Xiaobing Zhao 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,9:0
18Unveiling the relationship between structural evaluation and catalytic performance of InOOH during electroreduction of CO_(2)to formate显示文摘The electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(ECO_(2)RR)to formate is perceived as a technoeconomic pathway for transforming renewable electricity into fuels.However,the indeterminate mechanism underlying structural self-reconstruction obstructs the strategic design of a high-performance In catalyst for the ECO_(2)RR.In this study,we chose InOOH as the model catalyst to illustrate the dynamic structure of In-based catalysts during reconstruction in the ECO_(2)RR.The findings of the current study indicate that the in situ electrochemical reconstruction of crystalline InOOH results in the creation of crystalline In clusters/InOOH,followed by In/InOOH heterostructures,and finally,metallic In over time.The efficiencies of the different phases conformed to the sequence:In clusters/InOOH>In/InOOH heterostructures>metallic In.This progression leads to a continuous drop in maximum current density and Faradaic efficiency from 29.6 mA/cm2 and 87%to 6.3 mA/cm2 and 75%,respectively with time extending to 7200 s,at-1.0 V relative to the reversible hydrogen electrode.Our in situ characterization and theoretical studies highlighted the crucial role of the In-cluster/InOOH interface in CO_(2)activation and conversion.Caijun Deng Chaofan Qi Xiaomin Wu Guohua Jing Huawang Zhao 2024Green Carbon2024,2,1:0
19Studies on the liquid-liquid interfacial mass transfer process using holographic interferometry显示文摘This paper aims at the interfacial phenomena of liquid-liquid mass transfer and its characteristic.By using the real-time holographic technique,the concen-tration distributions on the aqueous side were obtained according to holographic diagrams of mass transfer of ethanol through the interface of oil and water at different initial concentrations.Furthermore,the concentrations near the interface and the mass transfer coefficients were attained.A correlation of concentration near the interface to the concentration of the solute in the oil side was proposed.An approach of interfacial energy with solute concentration was established,and the calculated results are at good agreement with the experimental data.It is indicated that the liquid-liquid mass transfer process is approximately in accordance with two-film theory,the interfacial performance may be changed by the addition of the solute,and the interface of liquid-liquid is non-equilibrium thermodynamically during the mass transfer process.Chaofan ZHAO Youguang MA Chunying ZHU 2008Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2008,2,1:0
20Impact of air pressure variations on electrical vehicle motor insulation显示文摘Variation in air pressure severely affects the insulation of electric vehicle(EV)motors,hence weakening the reliability of EVs for safe operation.Nomex‐polyimide‐Nomex,a typical insulation material for EV motors,was used to investigate the motor insulation performance under different air pressures.The results show that the partial discharge inception voltage is significantly reduced for EV motors operated at lower air pressures,and the probability of partial discharge(PD)occurrence is increased.The macroscopic results reveal that the active area of the PD expands at low pressure,while the non‐corroded ring appears in the centre.Additionally,although the number and amplitude of the PD increase significantly with decrease in air pressure,the active area of the PD expands and electrical stress on the insulation per unit area increases slowly.Therefore,when the pressure decreased from 60 to 40 kPa,the endurance life does not show a significant downward trend.Furthermore,the dielectric constant and loss of the low‐pressure samples significantly change during the ageing process,which further indicates critical degradation of the insulation.The aforementioned investigations reveal that the air pressure at different altitudes has a significant impact on the performance of insulation materials.Peng Wang Chaofan Yu Shakeel Akram Ziyuan Fan Wenhuan Zhao 2023High Voltage2023,8,5:0
