1Washed microbiota transplantation vs.manual fecal microbiota transplantation:clinical findings,animal studies and in vitro screening显示文摘Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)by manual preparation has been applied to treat diseases for thousands of years.However,this method still endures safety risks and challenges the psychological endurance and acceptance of doctors,patients and donors.Population evidence showed the washed microbiota preparation with microfiltration based on an automatic purification system followed by repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times significantly reduced FMT-related adverse events.This washing preparation makes delivering a precise dose of the enriched microbiota feasible,instead of using the weight of stool.Intraperitoneal injection in mice with the fecal microbiota supernatant obtained after repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times induced less toxic reaction than that by the first centrifugation following the microfiltration.The toxic reactions that include death,the change in the level of peripheral white blood cells,and the proliferation of germinal center in secondary lymphoid follicles in spleen were noted.The metagenomic next-generation sequencing(NGS)indicated the increasing types and amount of viruses could be washed out during the washing process.Metabolomics analysis indicated metabolites with pro-inflammatory effects in the fecal microbiota supernatant such as leukotriene B4,corticosterone,and prostaglandin G2 could be removed by repeated washing.Near-infrared absorption spectroscopy could be served as a rapid detection method to control the quality of the washingprocess.In conclusion,this study for the first time provides evidence linking clinical findings and animal experiments to support that washed microbiota transplantation(WMT)is safer,more precise and more quality-controllable than the crude FMT by manual.Ting Zhang Gaochen Lu Zhe Zhao Yafei Liu Quan Shen Pan Li Yaoyao Chen Haoran Yin Huiquan Wang Cicilia Marcella Bota Cui Lei Cheng Guozhong Ji Faming Zhang 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,4:44

3Synthesis and characterization of an environmentally friendly PHBV/PEG copolymer network as a phase change material显示文摘Novel environmentally friendly poly(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PHBV/PEG) copolymer networks were synthesized through free-radical solution polymerization with PHBV diacrylate (PHBVDA) and polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) as macromers. The molecular structure of PHBV/PEG copolymer network was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR). The morphology of the PHBV/PEG copolymer network was characterized by polarization optical microscopy. Thermal energy storage properties, thermal reliability and thermal stability were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis. The results indicated that the PHBV/PEG copolymer network hindered the growth of PEG crystalline segments or PHBV segments. PHBV/PEG copolymer network had a higher latent heat enthalpy, which didn't reduce with the components of PHBV increased. Moreover, PHBV/PEG copolymer network still had good thermal stability even at 300 ℃. 5Changes of chlorogenic acid content and its synthesis-associated genes expression in Xuehua pear fruit during development显示文摘According to synthetic pathway of plant chlorogenic acid(CGA),the expression patterns of genes encoding enzymes that are associated with CGA synthesis were studied in normally developed Xuehua pear fruit. The study demonstrated that CGA content in peel and flesh of Xuehua pear decreased as fruit development progressed,with a higher level in peel. The expression levels of PbPAL1,PbPAL2,PbC3H,PbC 4H,Pb4CL1,Pb4CL2,Pb4CL6,PbHCT1 and PbHCT3 genes decreased in fruit,which was consistent with the pattern of variation in CGA content. That indicated that these genes might be key genes for influencing fruit CGA synthesis in Xuehua pear. 7Enhanced Detection of Rolling Element Bearing Fault Based on Stochastic Resonance显示文摘Early bearing faults can generate a series of weak impacts. All the influence factors in measurement may degrade the vibration signal. Currently, bearing fault enhanced detection method based on stochastic resonance(SR) is implemented by expensive computation and demands high sampling rate, which requires high quality software and hardware for fault diagnosis. In order to extract bearing characteristic frequencies component, SR normalized scale transform procedures are presented and a circuit module is designed based on parameter-tuning bistable SR. In the simulation test, discrete and analog sinusoidal signals under heavy noise are enhanced by SR normalized scale transform and circuit module respectively. Two bearing fault enhanced detection strategies are proposed. One is realized by pure computation with normalized scale transform for sampled vibration signal, and the other is carried out by designed SR hardware with circuit module for analog vibration signal directly. The first strategy is flexible for discrete signal processing, and the second strategy demands much lower sampling frequency and less computational cost. The application results of the two strategies on bearing inner race fault detection of a test rig show that the local signal to noise ratio of the characteristic components obtained by the proposed methods are enhanced by about 50% compared with the band pass envelope analysis for the bearing with weaker fault. In addition, helicopter transmission bearing fault detection validates the effectiveness of the enhanced detection strategy with hardware. 8Proposal and validation of a modified staging system to improve the prognosis predictive performance of the 8th AJCC/ UICC pTNM staging system for gastric adenocarcinoma: a multicenter study with external validation显示文摘Background:The 8th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer/Union for International Cancer Control(AJCC/UICC)pathological tumor-node-metastasis(pTNM)staging system may have increased accuracy in predicting prognosis of gastric cancer due to its important modifications from previous editions.However,the homogeneity in prognosis within each subgroup classified according to the 8th edition may still exist.This study aimed to compare and analyze the prognosis prediction abilities of the 8th and 7th editions of AJCC/UICC pTNM staging system for gastric cancer and propose a modified pTNM staging system with external validation.Methods:In total,clinical data of 7911 patients from three high-capacity institutions in China and 10,208 cases from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)Program Registry were analyzed.The homogeneity,discrimina-tory ability,and monotonicity of the gradient assessments of the 8th and 7th editions of AJCC/UICC pTNM staging system were compared using log-rank χ^(2),linear-trend χ^(2),likelihood-ratioχ2 statistics and Akaike information criterion(AIC)calculations,on which a modified pTNM classification with external validation using the SEER database was proposed.Results:Considerable stage migration,mainly for stage III,between the 8th and 7th editions was observed in both cohorts.The survival rates of subgroups of patients within stage IIIA,IIIB,or IIIC classified according to both editions were significantly different,demonstrating poor homogeneity for patient stratification.A modified pTNM staging system using data from the Chinese cohort was then formulated and demonstrated an improved homogeneity in these abovementioned subgroups.This staging system was further validated using data from the SEER cohort,and similar promising results were obtained.Compared with the 8th and 7th editions,the modified pTNM staging system displayed the highest log-rank χ^(2),linear-trend χ^(2),likelihood-ratio χ^(2),and lowest AIC values,indicating its superior discriminatory ability,monotonicity,homogeneity and prognosis prediction ability in both populations.Conclusions:The 8th edition of AJCC/UICC pTNM staging system is superior to the 7th edition,but still results in homogeneity in prognosis prediction.Our modified pTNM staging system demonstrated the optimal stratification and prognosis prediction ability in two large cohorts of different gastric cancer populations.Cheng Fang Wei Wang Jing-Yu Deng Zhe Sun Sharvesh Raj Seeruttun Zhen-Ning Wang Hui-Mian Xu Han Liang Zhi-Wei Zhou 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:11
9Study of HIV-1 Drug Resistance in Patients Receiving Free Antiretroviral Therapy in China显示文摘To investigate the prevalence of drug-resistance mutations,resistance to antiretroviral drugs,and the subsequent virological response to therapy in treatment-naive and antiretroviral-treated patients infected with HIV/AIDS in Henan,China,a total of 431 plasma samples were collected in Queshan county between 2003 and 2004,from patients undergoing the antiretroviral regimen Zidovudine + Didanosine + Nevirapine(Azt+Ddi+Nvp).Personal information was collected by face to face interview.Viral load and genotypic drug resistance were tested.Drug resistance mutation data were obtained by analyzing patient-derived sequences through the HIVdb Program(http://gffzz38c50ed9119344cfhkpvunpfxuuvu6wcb.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn).Overall,38.5% of treatment-naive patients had undetectable plasma viral load(VL),the rate significantly increased to 61.9% in 0 to 6 months treatment patients(mean 3 months)(P<0.005)but again significantly decrease to 38.6% in 6 to 12 months treatment patients(mean 9 months)(P<0.001)and 40.0% in patients receiving more than 12 months treatment(mean 16 months)(P<0.005).The prevalence of drug resistance in patients who had a detectable VL and available sequences were 7.0%,48.6%,70.8%,72.3% in treatment-na?ve,0 to 6 months treatment,6 to 12 months treatment,and treatment for greater than 12 months patients,respectively.No mutation associated with resistance to Protease inhibitor(PI)was detected in this study.Nucleoside RT inhibitor(NRTI)mutations always emerged after non-nucleoside RT inhibitor(NNRTI)mutations,and were only found in patients treated for more than 6 months,with a frequency less than 5%,with the exception of mutation T215Y(12.8%,6/47)which occurred in patients treated for more than 12 months.NNRTI mutations emerged quickly after therapy begun,and increased significantly in patients treated for more than 6 months(P<0.005),and the most frequent mutations were K103N,V106A,Y181C,G190A.There had been optimal viral suppression in patients undergoing treatment for less than 6 months in Queshan,Henan.The drug resistance strains were highly prevalent in antiretroviral-treated patients,and increased with the continuation of therapy,with many patients encountering virological failure after 6 months therapy.Xin-ping LIP Hui XING Zhe WANG Xue-feng SI Lian-en WANG Hua CHENG Wei-guo CUI Shu-lin JIANG Ling-jie LIAO Hai-wei ZHOU Jiang-hong HUANG Hong PENG Peng-fei MA Yi-ming SHAO 2007中国病毒学2007,22,3:9
10Multi-scale bistable stochastic resonance array: A novel weak signal detection method and application in machine fault diagnosis显示文摘Weak signal detection based on stochastic resonance (SR) can hardly succeed when noise intensity exceeds the optimal value of SR. This paper explores a novel parallel bistable SR array mechanism by decomposed multi-scale noises from input signal. A smoother output with lower noise is obtained from the combination of colored noise SR effect and parallel bistable SR array. The influence of noise intensity and array size on the SR effect and output noise intensity is analyzed through numerical simulation. A signal detection method based on the new SR mechanism and normalized scale transform is proposed for the case of heavy background noise. Simulation is conducted to confirm the effectiveness of parameter tuning and amplitude tuning of normalized scale transform on the proposed SR model. The proposed method has three advantages: the input noise intensity of each unit is reduced by wavelet decomposition; the output noise level decreases due to array ensemble average; the SR effect of each unit is optimized by normalized scale transform for high frequency signal. 14A novel nomogram individually predicting disease-specific survival after D2 gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer显示文摘Background:Few studies have shown nomograms that may predict disease-specific survival(DSS)probability after curative D2 gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer(AGC),particularly among Chinese patients.This study sought to develop an elaborative nomogram that predicts long-term DSS for AGC in Chinese patients.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 6753 AGC patients undergoing D2 gastrectomy between January 1,2000 and December 31,2012 from three large medical hospitals in China.We assigned patients from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center to the training set,and patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University and Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital to two separate external validation sets.A multivariate survival analysis was performed using Cox proportional hazards regression model in a training set,and a nomogram was constructed.Harrell’s C-index was used to evaluate discrimination and calibration plots were used to validate similarities between survival probabilities predicted by the nomogram model and actual survival rates in two validation sets.Results:The multivariate Cox regression model identified age,tumor size,location,Lauren classification,lymphatic/venous invasion,depth of invasion,and metastatic lymph node ratio as covariates associated with survival.In the training set,the nomogram exhibited superior discrimination power compared with the 8th American Joint Com-mittee on Cancer TNM classification(Harrell’s C-index,0.82 vs.0.74;P<0.001).In two validation sets,the nomogram’s discrimination power was also excellent relative to TNM classification(C-index,0.83 vs.0.75 and 0.81 vs.0.74,respec-tively;P<0.001 for both).After calibration,the nomogram produced survival predictions that corresponded closely with actual survival rate.Conclusions:The established nomogram was able to predict 3-,5-,and 10-year DSS probabilities for AGC patients.Validation revealed that this nomogram exhibited excellent discrimination and calibration capacity,suggesting its clinical utility.Wei Wang Zhe Sun Jing-Yu Deng Xiao-Long Qi Xing-Yu Feng Cheng Fang Xing-Hua Ma Zhen-Ning Wang Han Liang Hui-Mian Xu Zhi-Wei Zhou 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:8

16The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) mission: An overview显示文摘The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE), dubbed “Xihe”—Goddess of the Sun, was launched on October 14, 2021 as the first solar space mission of China National Space Administration(CNSA). The CHASE mission is designed to test a newly developed satellite platform and to acquire the spectroscopic observations in the Hα waveband. The Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS)is the scientific payload of the CHASE satellite. It consists of two observational modes: raster scanning mode and continuum imaging mode. The raster scanning mode obtains full-Sun or region-of-interest spectral images from 6559.7 to 6565.9 ? and from 6567.8 to 6570.6 ? with 0.024 ? pixel spectral resolution and 1 min temporal resolution. The continuum imaging mode obtains photospheric images in continuum around 6689 ? with the full width at half maximum of 13.4 ?. The CHASE mission will advance our understanding of the dynamics of solar activity in the photosphere and chromosphere. 17An overview of laser-based multiple metallic material additive manufacturing: from macro- to micro-scales显示文摘Additive manufacturing(AM)is an emerging customized three-dimensional(3D)functional product fabrication technology.It provides a higher degree of design freedom,reduces manufacturing steps,cost and production cycles.However,existing metallic component 3D printing techniques are mainly for the manufacture of single material components.With the increasing commercial applications of AM technologies,the need for 3D printing of more than one type of dissimilar materials in a single component increases.Therefore,investigations on multi-material AM(MMAM)emerge over the past decade.Lasers are currently widely used for the AM of metallic components where high temperatures are involved.Here we report the progress and trend in laser-based macro-and micro-scale AM of multiple metallic components.The methods covered in this paper include laser powder bed fusion,laser powder directed energy deposition,and laser-induced forward transfer for MMAM applications.The principles and process/material characteristics are described.Potential applications and challenges are discussed.Finally,future research directions and prospects are proposed.Chao Wei Zhizhou Zhang Dongxu Cheng Zhe Sun Menghui Zhu Lin Li 2021International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2021,3,1:7

20Characterization of aircraft emissions and air quality impacts of an international airport显示文摘Beijing Capital International Airport(ZBAA) is the world's second busiest airport. In this study, the emissions of air pollutants from aircraft and other sources at ZBAA in 2015 were estimated using an improved method, which considered the mixing layer height calculated based on aircraft meteorological data relay(AMDAR), instead of using the height(915 m)recommended by ICAO. The yearly emissions of NO_x, CO, VOCs, SO_2, and PM_(2.5) at the airport were 8.76 × 10~3, 4.43 × 10~3, 5.43 × 10~2, 4.80 × 10~2, and 1.49 × 10~2 ton/year, respectively. The spatial–temporal distribution of aircraft emissions was systematically analyzed to understand the emission characteristics of aircraft. The results indicated that NOxwas mainly emitted during the take-off and climb phases, accounting for 20.5% and 55.5% of the total emissions. CO and HC were mainly emitted during the taxi phase, accounting for 91.6%and 92.2% of the total emissions. Because the mixing layer height was high in summer, the emissions of aircraft were at the highest level throughout the year. Based on the detailed emissions inventory, four seasons simulation using WRF-CMAQ model was performed over the domain surrounding the airport. The results indicated that the contribution to PM_(2.5) was relatively high in winter; the average impact was about 1.15 μg/m^3 within a radius of1 km around the airport.
