| 1 | Side Effects during Treatment of Advanced Gastric Carcinoma by Chemotherapy Combined with CIK-cell Transfusion in Elderly People显示文摘OBJECTIVE To study the side effects and therapeutic results of autologous cytokine-induced killer(CIK)cell treatment in elderly patients with advanced gastric cancer. METHODS CIK cells were induced and cultured using biotechnics in vitro,and then the cells were infused back into the patients.Sixty elderly gastric cancer patients treated by chemotherapy(FOLFOX4 protocol)were followed-up.Among them,29 patients were treated with CIK cells during application of chemotherapy.Short-term curative effects and adverse events from the CIK transfusion and chemotherapy were observed. RESULTS Eight cases developed partial remission(PR),9 cases moderate remission(MR),7 cases stable disease(SD)and 5 cases progressive disease(PD).Out of a total of 29 patients who received chemotherapy combined with autologous CIK therapy, the total remission rate(PR+MR)was 58.6%.The total remission rate following chemotherapy alone was 45.2%,including 5 PR cases,9 MR cases,7 SD cases,and 10 PD cases.There was a relatively lower rate of severe chemotherapic toxicities in the CIK- cell transfusion group.Side e?ects of autologous CIK transfusion included chills(13 cases),fever(9 cases),nausea and vomiting (1 case)and general malaise(3 cases).Side effects were treated with conventional therapy resulting in their amelioration.No patients developed shock,blood capillary leakage syndrome,or abnormalities in routine blood,urine,liver and renal function tests. CONCLUSION Adoptive immunotherapy with autologous CIK cells may decrease the clinical signs and symptoms of elderly patients who suffer from advanced gastric cancer.Adverse reactions of patients can be alleviated by conventional therapy. | 2 | SmMYB2 promotes salvianolic acid biosynthesis in the medicinal herb Salvia miltiorrhiza显示文摘MYB transcription factors play vital roles in plant growth and metabolism.The phytohormone methyl jasmonate(MeJA)promotes phenolic acid accumulation in the medicinal herb Salvia miltiorrhiza,but the regulatory mechanism is poorly understood.Here,we identified the MeJA-responsive R2R3-MYB transcription factor gene 5mMYB2 from a transcriptome library produced from MeJAtreated S.mi'/horr/ifza hairy roots.Sm/VIYB2 expression was tightly correlated with the expression of key salvianolic acid biosynthetic genes including CYP^8Ai^.5mMYB2 was highly expressed in the periderm of S.miltiorrhiza and SmMYB2 localized to the nucleus.Overexpressing Sml\AYB2 in S.miltiorrhiza hairy roots significantly increased the levels of salvianolic acids(including rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B)by upregulating salvianolic acid biosynthetic genes such as CYP98A14.SmMYB2 binds to the MYB-binding motifs in the promoter of CYP98A14,as confirmed by a dual-luciferase assay and electrophoretic mobility shift assays.Anthocyanin contents were significantly higher in Sm/ViyB2-overexpressing hairy root lines than the control,primarily due to the increased expression of CHI,DFR,and ANS.These findings reveal the novel regulatory role of SmMYB2 in MeJA-mediated phenolic acid biosynthesis,providing a useful target gene for metabolic engineering and shedding light on the salvianolic acid regulatory network. | Changping Deng Yao Wang Fenfen Huang Sunjie Lu Limei Zhao Xingyuan Ma Guoyin Kai | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,11: | 6 |
| 3 | Water permeability in MXene membranes: Process matters显示文摘Recent studies have shown impressive transport behaviors of water and ions within lamellar MXene membranes,which endows great promise in developing advanced separation application based high performance MXene membranes.However,most of the researches focused on modification of MXene nanoflakes and optimizing interlayer distance,leaving the impact of membrane fabrication process marginal.In this work,we studied the water flux of membranes made by vacuum filtration using delaminated MXene nanoflakes as the building-blocks.Our results show that the water permeability is extremely sensitive to the process,especially at the drying process,loading and deposit rate of nanoflakes(the feeding concentration).We find that the voids from less ordered stack rather than in-plane defects and interlayer galleries contribute to the large water permeability.The voids can be effectively avoided via deposition of MXene nanoflakes at a slow rate.Manipulating the stack of MXene nanoflakes during vacuum filtration and drying are critical for development of MXene membranes with desired performance for water permeation. | Hang Zhou Yuwei Wang Fuqiang Wang Hao Deng Yongchen Song Changping Li Zheng Ling | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,6: | 3 |
| 4 | The methyl jasmonate-responsive transcription factor SmMYB1 promotes phenolic acid biosynthesis in Salvia miltiorrhiza显示文摘Water-soluble phenolic acids are major bioactive compounds in the medicinal plant species Salvia miltiorrhiza.Phenolic acid biosynthesis is induced by methyl jasmonate(MeJA)in this important Chinese herb.Here,we investigated the mechanism underlying this induction by analyzing a transcriptome library of S.miltiorrhiza in response to MeJA.Global transcriptome analysis identified the MeJA-responsive R2R3-MYB transcription factor-encoding gene SmMYB1.Overexpressing SmMYB1 significantly promoted phenolic acid accumulation and upregulated the expression of genes encoding key enzymes in the phenolic acid biosynthesis pathway,including cytochrome P450-dependent monooxygenase(CYP98A14).Dual-luciferase(dual-LUC)assays and/or an electrophoretic mobility shift assays(EMSAs)indicated that SmMYB1 activated the expression of CYP98A14,as well as the expression of genes encoding anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway enzymes,including chalcone isomerase(CHI)and anthocyanidin synthase(ANS).In addition,SmMYB1 was shown to interact with SmMYC2 to additively promote CYP98A14 expression compared to the action of SmMYB1 alone.Taken together,these results demonstrate that SmMYB1 is an activator that improves the accumulation of phenolic acids and anthocyanins in S.miltiorrhiza.These findings lay the foundation for in-depth studies of the molecular mechanism underlying MeJA-mediated phenolic acid biosynthesis and for the metabolic engineering of bioactive ingredients in S.miltiorrhiza. | Wei Zhou Min Shi Changping Deng Sunjie Lu Fenfen Huang Yao Wang Guoyin Kai | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 3 |

In this paper, we study local conformal invariants of time-like surfaces in Q3 and dual theorem for Willmore surfaces in Q3. For any p ∈ M we define S12(p) = {X ∈ R13 | (X - c(p),X - c(p)) = 1/H(p)2} with c(p) = p + 1/H(p)n(p) ∈ R13.Then S12(p) is a one-sheet-hyperboloid in R13, which has the same tangent plane and mean curvature as M at the point p. | 9 | Computational investigation on hydrodynamic and sediment transport responses influenced by reclamation projects in the Meizhou Bay,China显示文摘Reclamation projects are the main method of coastal exploitation,and the hydrodynamic environmental effect,together with the sediment transport response of the reclamation project,is important to the project’s site selection and environmental protection.Herein,a 3D numerical model based on the finite volume community ocean model(FVCOM)is applied to simulate the changes in the Meizhou Bay’s hydrodynamic environment and sediment transport after a reclamation project.The reclamation project greatly alters the shape of the shoreline and narrows the bay,leading to a significant change in its hydrodynamic environment and sediment transport.After the project,the clockwise coastal residual current in the corner above the Meizhou Island gradually disappears.An obvious counter-clockwise coastal residual current emerges around the rectangular corner.The tidal prism decreases by 0.65×10^9 and 0.44×10^9 m^3 in the spring and neap tides,respectively.The residence time presents a major increase.These changes lead to the weakening of the water exchange capacity and the reduction of the self-purification capacity of the bay.Currents in the tidal channel weaken,whilst currents in the horizontal channel strengthen.The strength and scope of particle trajectories around the horizontal channel and the Meizhou Island enhance.The suspended sediment concentration(SSC)increases in the majority of the Meizhou Bay but decreases in the lateral bay.The eastern corner of Z2 shows a tendency to erode.The western region of the Meizhou Island,the upper portion of the rectangular corner and the western corner of Z4 show a tendency to deposit.The reclamation project increases the maximum storm surges by 0.06 m and decreases the maximum significant wave heights by 0.09 m. | Gefei Deng Yongming Shen Changping Li Jun Tang | 2020 | Frontiers of Earth Science2020,14,3: | 1 |

By combining free space and modified waveguide propagation models, we propose a new hybrid propagation model based on ray tracing. Simulation results have shown the effectiveness of establishing a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) in this coal-mine environment.
