1Surface ozone observations during voyages to the Arctic and Antarctic regions显示文摘Surface ozone concentration and UV-B data between 75° N and 70° S were obtained aboard the Chinese polar scientific vessel 'Xue-long' (Snow-Dragon) during the first voyage to the Arctic and the 16th to the Antarctic in 1999-2000. Analysis of these data presents that variations of the surface ozone concentration have small amplitude during voyages except the mid-latitude in the Northern Hemisphere. As a whole, average surface ozone concentration in the Northern Hemisphere is higher than that in the Southern, and high value occurred when the ship sailed close to the continents. The average diurnal variations of the surface ozone in the Northern Hemisphere are also higher compared to the southern counterparts, and high diurnal variations were found at low latitudes, and relative low level in the polar region.Longhua Lu Lingen Bian Yanjie Cheng Changgui Lu Jie Tang 2001Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,23:8
2Structure of summer atmospheric boundary layer in the center of Arctic Ocean and its relation with sea ice extent change显示文摘The atmospheric vertical structure and changed characteristics of boundary layer parameters, as well as their relations with sea ice and temperature changes in the center of Arctic Ocean(80°–88°N) are presented by adopting GPS sounding data obtained by the 4th–6th Arctic expeditions of China and NCEP(National Centre for Environmental Prediction) reanalysis data. Obvious differences are observed regarding the tropopause, boundary layer height, temperature inversion, and vertical structure of wind speed and direction in the center Arctic Ocean in the summer of 2012, 2010, and 2014. These differences can be explained by the relations between temperature and changes in sea ice extent in September from 1979 to 2014. In September 2012, the Arctic sea ice extent decreased by 44% an with obvious warming process. In September 2010 and 2014, it decreased by 22.6% and 17% with an obvious cooling process, respectively. A comparison of the two processes shows that sea ice change has a significant influence on the structure of the atmospheric boundary layer. In the recent 30 years, the temperature changes of 1000 and 850 h Pa in the center of the Arctic Ocean have displayed an obvious warming trend and negative correlation with sea ice extent. 3The vertical structure of the atmospheric boundary layer over the central Arctic Ocean显示文摘The tropopause height and the atmospheric boundary layer(PBL)height as well as the variation of inversion layer above the floating ice surface are presented using GPS(global position system)radiosonde sounding data and relevant data obtained by China’s fourth arctic scientific expedition team over the central Arctic Ocean(86–88 N,144–170 W)during the summer of 2010.The tropopause height is from 9.8 to 10.5 km,with a temperature range between–52.2 and–54.1 C in the central Arctic Ocean.Two zones of maximum wind(over 12 m/s)are found in the wind profile,namely,low-and upper-level jets,located in the middle troposphere and the tropopause,respectively.The wind direction has a marked variation point in the two jets from the southeast to the southwest.The average PBL height determined by two methods is 341 and 453m respectively.These two methods can both be used when the inversion layer is very low,but the results vary significantly when the inversion layer is very high.A significant logarithmic relationship exists between the PBL height and the inversion intensity,with a correlation coefficient of 0.66,indicating that the more intense the temperature inversion is,the lower the boundary layer will be.The observation results obviously differ from those of the third arctic expedition zone(80–85 N).The PBL height and the inversion layer thickness are much lower than those at 87–88 N,but the inversion temperature is more intense,meaning a strong iceatmosphere interaction in the sea near the North Pole.The PBL structure is related to the weather system and the sea ice concentration,which affects the observation station.BIAN Lingen MA Yongfeng LU Changgui LIN Xiang 2013Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,10:3
4Immunogenicity and protective efficacy of a recombinant protein subunit vaccine and an inactivated vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 variants in non-human primates显示文摘Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants and the gradually decreasing neutralizing antibodies over time post vaccination have led to an increase in incidents of breakthrough infection across the world.To investigate the potential protective effect of the recombinant protein subunit COVID-19 vaccine targeting receptor-binding domain(RBD)(PS-RBD)and whole inactivated virus particle vaccine(IV)against the variant strains,in this study,rhesus macaques were immunized with PS-RBD or IV vaccine,followed by a Beta variant(B.1.351)challenge.Although neutralizing activity against the Beta variant was reduced compared with that against the prototype,the decreased viral load in both upper and lower respiratory tracts,milder pathological changes,and downregulated inflammatory cytokine levels in lung tissues after challenge demonstrated that PS-RBD and IV still provided effective protection against the Beta variant in the macaque model.Furthermore,PS-RBD-induced macaque sera possessed general binding and neutralizing activity to Alpha,Beta,Delta,and Omicron variants in our study,though the neutralizing antibody(NAb)titers declined by varying degrees,demonstrating potential protection of PS-RBD against current circulating variants of concern(VOCs).Interestingly,although the IV vaccine-induced extremely low neutralizing antibody titers against the Beta variant,it still showed reduction for viral load and significantly alleviated pathological change.Other correlates of vaccine-induced protection(CoP)like antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC)and immune memory were both confirmed to be existing in IV vaccinated group and possibly be involved in the protective mechanism.Qian He Qunying Mao Xiaozhong Peng Zhanlong He Shuaiyao Lu Jialu Zhang Fan Gao Lianlian Bian Chaoqiang An Wenhai Yu Fengmei Yang Yanan Zhou Yun Yang Yanyan Li Yadi Yuan Xujia Yan Jinghuan Yang Xing Wu Weijin Huang Changgui Li Junzhi Wang Zhenglun Liang Miao Xu 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:2

6Temperature variations at the Great Wall and Zhongshan stations显示文摘Surface meteorological observations have been carried out at the Great Wall station (GW) and Zhongshan station (ZS) from 1984 to 2008 and from 1989 to 2008 respectively.The variation in mean air temperature and its trends are derived from the meteorological observation data recorded at both stations.The warming rate of the annual mean temperature at GW is similar to that at Bellingshausen station,which is about 3 km distant.Thus,the warming trend is representative of the King George Island region.The warming rate of ZS is less different from that at Davis station,which is about 100 km from ZS.It can be said that the meteorological data recorded at both stations are representative of the regions of the King George Island and east coast of the Antarctic.BIAN LinGen MA YongFeng LU ChangGui LU LongHua 2011Chinese Journal of Polar Science2011,22,1:1
7Laser-annealing-made amplified spontaneous emission of 'giant' CdSe/CdS core/shell nanocrystals transferred from bulk-like shell to quantum-confined core显示文摘'Giant' Cd Se/Cd S core/shell nanocrystals(NCs) were synthesized with thick Cd S shell(15 monolayers), and the x-ray diffraction(XRD) measurement indicates there is a zinc blende phase in the thick Cd S shell, whereas it transformed into wurtzite phase under 5 min radiation with a 400 nm, 594 μJ∕cm2femtosecond(fs) laser beam.The evolution of the NCs’ spontaneous emission under the fs laser radiation was recorded with a Hamamatsu streak camera. The as-synthesized NCs exhibit an amplified spontaneous emission(ASE) at 530 nm, which comes from a bulk-like Cd S shell due to the interfacial potential barrier, which could slow down the relaxation of holes from the shell to the core. After being annealed by an fs laser, the ASE of the g-NCs is transferred from a bulk-like Cd S shell to a quantum-confined Cd Se core because the phase transformation determined with the XRD measurement could remove the interfacial barrier. 10Glass-compatible and self-powered temperature alarm system by temperature-responsive organic manganese halides via backward energy transfer process显示文摘A pioneering glass-compatible transparent temperature alarm system self-powered by luminescent solar concentrators(LSCs) is reported.Single green-emitted organic manganese halides(OMHs) of PEA_(2)MnBr_(2)I_(2),which has a unique temperature-dependent backward energy transfer process from selftrapped state to^(4)T_(1)energy level of Mn,is used for triggering the temperature alarm.The LSC with redemitted CsPbI_(3)perovskite-polymer composite films on the glass substrate is used for power supply.The spectrally separated nature between the green-emitted OMHs for temperature alarm and red-emitted CsPbI3in LSC for power supply allows for probing the signal light of temperature-responsive OMHs without the interference of LSCs,making it possible to calibrate the temperature visually just by a self-powered brightness detection circuit with LED indicators.Taking advantage of LSC without hot spot effects plaguing the solar cells,as-prepared temperature alarm system can operate well on both sunny and cloudy day.Pengfei Xia Fan Liu Yuru Duan Xuefang Hu Changgui Lu Shuhong Xu Chunlei Wang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:0
11Tunable double-resonance dimer structure for surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrate in near-infrared region显示文摘Plasmonic resonance with Fano lineshape has attracted a great deal of recent interest. Here we design a new structure with a dimer grating upon a gold film separated by a layer of silica spacer, which has two resonant modes corresponding to the dimer’s localized surface plasmon resonance and the surface plasmon resonance excited by the dimer grating. This structure has three advantages for near-infrared detection in water. 12On board measurement of black carbon aerosols over the Arctic Ocean in summer显示文摘This paper presents aerosol black carbon (BC) concentrations measured at deck level on board the R/V XUE LONG icebreaker. The vessel cruised the Arctic Ocean carrying an in situ aethalometer during the summers of 2008 and 2010. The courses of the third Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition (3rd CHINARE-Arctic, August 2008) and fourth Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition (4th CHINARE-Arctic, from late July to August 2010) were bounded by 173°W-143°W and 178°E-150°W, with northernmost points 85°25'N and 88°26'N, respectively. Results show low surface BC concentrations over the ocean throughout the courses, with means (standard error) of 6.0 (±4.7) ngm-3for 3rd CHINARE-Arctic, and 8.4(±7.1) ngm-3for 4th CHINARE-Arctic. It is clear that these onboard BC concentrations are similar to reported data from coastal stations in the Arctic region. The latitude-average BC concentration varied from 3.0-26.2 ng·m-3for 3rd CHINARE-Arctic,to 4.2-20.5 ng·m-3for 4th CHINARE-Arctic. At latitudes higher than 72°N for 3rd CHINARE-Arctic and 75°N for 4th CHINARE-Arctic, BC concentrations were lower and had negligible latitudinal gradients. Analysis indicates that the presence of the Arctic front isolates the lower atmosphere of the high-latitude Arctic Ocean from low-latitude terrestrial transport. This maintains the very low BC concentrations and negligible concentration gradients at high latitudes of the Arctic Ocean during summer. 13Measurement and analysis of ozone, ultraviolet B and aerosol light scattering coefficients in the Arctic显示文摘Tropospheric ozone (O3), ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation and aerosol light scattering coefficients (SC)were investigated on a cruise ship during the fourth Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition from July 1-September 20, 2010. The results showed that O3, UVB and SC decreased with increasing latitude, with minimum values recorded in the central Arctic Ocean. Average O3 concentrations were 15.9 ppbv and 15.1 ppbv in the Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean, respectively. Ozone concentrations increased to 17.5 ppbv in the high Arctic region.Average UVB values were 0.26 W·m-2and 0.14 W·m-2in the Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean, respectively. Theaverage SC in the Bering Sea was 4.3 M·m-1, more than twice the value measured in the Arctic Ocean, which had an average value of 1.7 M·m-1.
