| 1 | ALD growth of ultra-thin Co layers on the topological insulator Sb2Te3显示文摘Taking the full advantage of the conformal growth characterizing atomic layer deposition(ALD),the possibility to grow Co thin films,with thickness from several tens down to few nanometers on top of a granular topological insulator(TI)Sb2Tes film,exhibiting a quite high surface roughness(2-5 nm),was demonstrated.To study the Co growth on the Sb2Tes substrate,we performed simultaneous Co depositions also on sputtered Pt substrates for comparison.We conducted a thorough chemical-structural characterization of the Co/Sb2Tes and Co/Pt heterostructures,confirming for both cases,not only an excellent conformality,but also the structural continuity of the Co layers.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and high-resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM)analyses evidenced that Co on Sb2Te3 grows preferentially oriented along the[0oe]direction,following the underlying rhombohedric substrate.Differently,Co crystallizes in a cubic phase oriented along the[111]direction when deposited on Pt.This work shows that,in case of deposition of crystalline materials,the ALD surface selectivity and conformality can be extended to the definition of local epitaxy,where in-plane ordering of the crystal structure and mosaicity of the developed crystallized grains are dictated by the underlying substrate.Moreover,a highly sharp and chemically-pure Co/Sb2Tes interface was evidenced,which is promising for the application of this growth process for spintronics. | Emanuele Longo Roberto Mantovan Raimondo Cecchini Michael D.Overbeek Massimo Longo Giovanna Trevisi Laura Lazzarini Graziella Tallarida Marco Fanciulli Charles H.Winter Claudia Wiemer | 2020 | Nano Research2020，13，2： | 2 |
| 2 | Isolated limb infusion chemotherapy with or without hemofiltration for recurrent limb melanoma显示文摘AIM: To better define the efficacy and the safety of intra-arterial infusion performed with or without hemofiltration for recurrent limb melanoma. METHODS: Patients with the following characteristics were included in the study: recurrent limb melanoma not indicated for surgical resection, measurable disease in the extremity, > 18 years, performances status(Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group) was 0-1 and life expectancy of at least 6 mo. Twenty nine consecutive patients were enrolled in the study. Patients underwent fluoroscopic placement of angiographic arterial and venous catheters to infuse the drug in the artery [isolated limb infusion(ILI)], and to stop the out flow(venous). Melphalan was rapidly infused into the isolated limb via the arterial catheter after the inflation of venous balloon catheter. Then the circulation of the limb was completely blocked with a pneumatic cuff at the root of the limb. Haemofiltration(HF) was available only in the main center, and was performed with an extracorporeal perfusion system, in order to reduce high systemic toxic peaks of drug.RESULTS: Thirty seven ILI were done in 29 cases(31 ILI-HF and 6 ILI) between 2001 and 2014 at Ancona and Pesaro Hospitals, Italy. Clinical outcomes were monitored 30 d after treatment. Eleven patients(38%) received infusion of melphalan alone, 7(24%) melphalan associated to mitomicin C and 7(24%) melphalan associated to cisplatin, the remaining 4 were treated with cisplatin, melphalan and epirubicin or cisplatin and mitomicin C. The overall response rate was 66%, in particular, 3 patients(10%) were complete responders and 16(56%) were partial responders; whereas 7 patients(24%) had stable disease, and 3(10%) showed progressive disease. Limb toxicity was assessed adopting Wieberdink scale, with evidence of 90% of low grade(I and II) toxicity.CONCLUSION: ILI-HF and ILI are effective and safe treatments for recurrent non-resectable limb melanoma. | 12 | Stereovision system for estimating tractors and agricultural machines transit area under orchards canopy显示文摘Managing orchards requires delicate agricultural operations being typically carried out in narrow zones where the operators usually drive machineries under stress that could result in poor performance.In such conditions,the use of technology would help manage the machines to reduce the hazardous work and eventual damage to the plants.To safely drive a tractor,the driver needs to be aware of its surroundings,thus a stereovision system can provide helpful information.Stereo imaging has proven to be an effective three-dimensional vision system.Indeed,the range(or third coordinate)information is useful to detect the obstacle distances.Such distances,when detected during agricultural operations,could be used to assist the operator in driving the tractor at regular or variable working speeds and eventually to provide manufacturers useful indications to model the form of ROPS(roll over protection structure).This study aimed to verify the closeness of agreement between manual and stereo-image measurements,and thus to provide helpful information regarding safety and working purposes.The system used a custom low-cost dual web-camera in combination with an image analysis algorithm in order to automatically extract the information needed.Manual independent measurements were carried out using a metric tape(sensitivity 1 cm).A regular structure was used for the analysis:four rows of ten trees each one.Alternated red and blue paper markers were placed on the hazelnut trees(two per tree)of two couples of rows for enhanced visibility.For each couple of trees(one on the right,the other on the left),the four markers formed a trapezoid that was measured.The results of the analysis demonstrated that the stereo vision provided distance measurements with reasonable accuracy(error<5%)in the range of distances lower than 20 m.The resolution assessed for the developed video system is suitable for obtaining distance information in real scenes.This information could be used to assist drivers to operate agricultural machineries through narrow tree rows during work execution.Moreover,such information could be used for safeguarding decision-making and/or for controlling some tractor functions such as continuing moving,changing driving direction,changing 3-point hitch position,reducing transmission speed,halting the tractor.These functions will be necessary before tractors become fully autonomous.Finally,the measured distances,marking the narrow transitions between the tree rows,could be also used to study the ROPS form,both for working safely and for avoiding possible damage caused to the hazel trees laterally. | Corrado Costa Paolo Febbi Federico Pallottino Massimo Cecchini Simone Figorilli Francesca Antonucci Paolo Menesatti | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019，12，1： | 1 |
