2Inlet Recirculation Influence to the Flow Structure of Centrifugal Impeller显示文摘Inlet recirculation is proved as an effective way for centrifugal compressor surge margin extension,and is successively used in some engineering applications.Unfortunately its working mechanism is still not being well understood,which leads to redesigning of inlet recirculation mostly by experience.Also,most study about inlet recirculation is steady to date.It is necessary to study surge margin extension mechanism about inlet recirculation.To expose the mechanism in detail,steady and unsteady numerical simulations were performed on a centrifugal compressor with and without inlet recirculation.The results showed that,with inlet recirculation,the inlet axial velocity is augmented,relative Mach number around blade tip leading edge area is significantly reduced and so is the flow angle.As the flow angle decreased,the incidence angle reduced which greatly improves the flow field inside the impeller.Moreover,inlet recirculation changes the blade loading around blade tip and restrains the flow separation on the blade suction side at the leading edge area.The unsteady results of static pressure around blade surface,entropy at inlet crossflow section and vorticity distributions at near tip span surface indicated that,at near stall condition,strong fluctuation exists in the vicinity of tip area due to the interaction between tip leakage flow and core flow.By inlet recirculation these strong flow fluctuations are eliminated so the flow stability is greatly enhanced.All these improvements mentioned above are the reason for inlet recirculation delays compressor stall.This research reveals the surge margin extension reason of inlet recirculation from an unsteady flow viewpoint and provides important reference for inlet recirculation structure design.YANG Ce CHEN Shan LI Du YANG Changmao WANG Yidi 2010Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,5:10

7An antibody against Siglec-15 promotes bone formation and fracture healing by increasing TRAP^(+)mononuclear cells and PDGF-BB secretion显示文摘Osteoporosis(OP)is a common age-related disease characterized by a deterioration of bone mass and structure that predisposes patients to fragility fractures.Pharmaceutical therapies that promote anabolic bone formation in OP patients and OP-induced fracture are needed.We investigated whether a neutralizing antibody against Siglec-15 can simultaneously inhibit bone resorption and stimulate bone formation.We found that the multinucleation of osteoclasts was inhibited in SIGLEC-15 conditional knockout mice and mice undergoing Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody treatment.The secretion of platelet-derived growth factor-BB(PDGF-BB),the number of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase-positive(TRAP+)mononuclear cells,and bone formation were significantly increased in the SIGLEC-15 conditional knockout mice and antibody-treated mice.The anabolic effect of the Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody on bone formation was blunted in mice with Pdgfb deleted in TRAP-1'cells.These findings showed that the anabolic effect of the Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody was mediated by elevating PDGF-BB production of TRAP4 mononuclear cells.To test the therapeutic potential of the Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody,we injected the antibody in an ovariectomy-induced osteoporotic mouse model,which mimics postmenopausal osteoporosis in women,and in two fracture healing models because fracture is the most serious health consequence of osteoporosis.The Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody effectively reduced bone resorption and stimulated bone formation in estrogen deficiency-induced osteoporosis.Of note,the Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody promoted intramembranous and endochondral ossification at the damaged area of cortical bone in fracture healing mouse models.Thus,the Siglec-15 neutralizing antibody shows significant translational potential as a novel therapy for OP and bone fracture.Gehua Zhen Yang Dan Ruomei Wang Ce Dou Qiaoyue Guo Melissa Zarr Linda N.Liu Lieping Chen Ruoxian Deng Yusheng Li Zengwu Shao Xu Cao 2021Bone Research2021,9,4:6

9Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg–RE–TM Cast Alloys Containing Long Period Stacking Ordered Phases: A Review显示文摘Casting magnesium alloys hold the greatest share of magnesium application products due to their short processing period, low cost and near net shape forming. Compared with conventional commercial magnesium alloys or other Mg–RE-based alloys, the novel Mg–RE–TM cast alloys with long period stacking ordered(LPSO) phases usually possess a higher strength and are promising candidates for aluminum alloy applications. Up to now, two ways: alloying design and casting process control(including subsequent heat treatments), have been predominantly employed to further improve the mechanical properties of these alloys. Alloying with other elements or ceramic particles could alter the solidifi cation pattern of alloys, change the morphology of LPSO phases and refi ne the microstructures. Diff erent casting techniques(conventional casting, rapidly solidifi cation, directional solidifi cation, etc.) introduce various microstructure characteristics, such as dendritic structure, nanocrystalline, metastable phase, anisotropy. Further heat treatments could activate the transformation of various LPSO structures and precipitation of diverse precipitates. All these evolutions exert great impacts on the mechanical properties of the LPSO-containing alloys. However, the underlying mechanisms still remain a subject of debate. 10Unsteady Flow Variability Driven by Rotor-stator Interaction at Rotor Exit显示文摘Numerical investigation of the unsteady flow variability driven by rotorstator interaction in a transonic axial compressor is performed. Two models with close and far axial gap between rotor and stator rows are studied in the simulation. Particular attention is attached to the analysis of mechanisms involved in driving rotor wake oscillation, rotor wake skewing and flow angle fluctuation at rotor exit. The results show that smaller axial gap is favorable to enhance the interaction in the region between two adjacent rows, and the fluctuation of the static pressure difference between two sides of rotor wake is improved by potential field from down stator, which is the driving force for rotor wake oscillation. 12High-efficiency 50 W burst-mode hundred picosecond green laser显示文摘We report high-energy,high-efficiency second harmonic generation in a near-infrared all-solid-state burst-mode picosecond laser at a repetition rate of 1 kHz with four pulses per burst using a type-I noncritical phase-matching lithium triborate crystal.The pulses in each burst have the same time delay(~1 ns),the same pulse duration(~100 ps)and different relative amplitudes that can be adjusted separately.A mode-locked beam from a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror is pulse-stretched,split into seed pulses and injected into a Nd:YAG regenerative amplifier.After the beam is reshaped by aspheric lenses,a two-stage master oscillator power amplifier and 4f imaging systems are applied to obtain a high power of^100 W.The 532 nm green laser has a maximum conversion efficiency of 68%,an average power of up to 50 W and a beam quality factor M^2 of 3.5.Ning Ma Meng Chen Ce Yang Shang Lu Xie Zhang Xinbiao Du 2020High Power Laser Science and Engineering2020,8,1:5

14Comparison of intravitreal injection of conbercept and triamcinolone acetonide for macular edema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion显示文摘AIM:To compare the safety and efficacy of the intravitreal injection of conbercept(IVC)and triamcinolone acetonide(IVTA)for macular edema(ME)secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO).METHODS:A prospective,randomized clinical study.Patients with ME secondary to BRVO were randomly assigned to either IVC group or IVTA group at a ratio of 2:1 and a 12-month follow-up was performed.The efficacy outcome measures included the mean changes and differences in best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and the central retinal thickness(CRT).The safety profiles and the mean retreatment intervals were also compared.RESULTS:There was no statistically significant difference of baseline between the two groups(IVC group,n=36;IVTA group,n=17).At 12mof the BCVA letters improved by 27.31±18.36 in the IVC group,and 13.53±11.37 in the IVTA group(P=0.0004).CRT reduction was 253.33±163.69 and 150.24±134.32 pm,respectively(P=0.0034).The mean BCVA in the IVC group was superior to that of the IVTA group for months 6-12(P<0.01).The mean CRT at 9 and 12mo were thinner in the IVC group compared to the IVTA group(P<0.01).The mean retreatment interval in the IVC group was longer than that in the IVTA group(97.40±36.27d vs 68.71±36.38d,P=0.0030).One eye in the IVC group and seven eyes in the IVTA group developed elevated intraocular pressure(IOP;P=0.0012).The proportion of eyes with cataract new-onset or progression were 19.44%in the IVC group and 64.71%in the IVTA group(P=0.0012).CONCLUSION:IVC could maintain or improve BCVA and reduce CRT for a longer time and have longer retreatment interval than IVTA.In addition,patients treated with IVTA are more susceptible to IOP elevation and cataract progression.Miao Zhao Ce Zhang Xi-Mei Chen Yan Teng Tian-Wei Shi Fei Liu 2020International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020,13,11:4
15Size,morphology,and composition of lunar samples returned by Chang'E-5 mission显示文摘This study focuses on the physical and chemical properties of surficial lunar regolith(LR)samples returned from the Moon by the Chang’E-5(CE-5)mission.Insights regarding the effect of a new sampling geological site on the surficial lunar sample CE5 C0400 were illustrated using nondestructive techniques such as laser diffractometry coupled with image analysis,X-ray computed tomography,and field emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy,and Xray diffraction combined with Rietveld refinement.From the characterization analyses,the CE-5 sampling site in the northeastern Oceanus Procellarum on the Moon yields a unique collection of relatively regular-shaped and fine basalt-dominated particles.The median grain size D_(50) is(55.24±0.96)μm,falling within the relatively low end of the range of the Apollo lunar returned samples.The coefficient of uniformity C_(u)of 15.1 and the coefficient of curvature C_(c)of 1.7 could classify CE5 C0400 to be well-graded.The minerals in CE5 C0400 comprise approximately 44.5%pyroxene,30.4%plagioclase,3.6%olivine,and6.0%ilmenite.There is a relatively low content of approximately 15.5%glass phase in the CE-5 lunar sample.From the results,we deduce that the CE-5 LR structure could have mainly resulted from micrometeoroid impacts to achieve such a high level of maturity.Hui Zhang Xian Zhang Guang Zhang Keqi Dong Xiangjin Deng Xiaosong Gao Yaodong Yang Yuan Xiao Xiao Bai Kaixin Liang Yiwei Liu Wenbin Ma Shaofan Zhao Ce Zhang Xiaojing Zhang Jian Song Wei Yao Hong Chen Weihua Wang Zhigang Zou Mengfei Yang 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,2:4
16Key-frame reference selection for non-feedback video communication显示文摘This article addresses the problem of reference picture optimization in video communication over error prone networks. A novel estimation model for transmission distortion is proposed. This model is capable of recursively estimating the overall end-to-end distortion caused by quantization, error propagation, and error concealment. Simulation results show that this model can accurately estimate channel distortion. Then, based on the distortion estimation model, a new non-feedback key-frame reference picture selection (KRPS) algorithm is developed. The optimum reference picture minimizes the transmission distortion under the rate-distortion optimization framework. 17Bone-targeted pH-responsive cerium nanoparticles for anabolic therapy in osteoporosis显示文摘Antiresorptive drugs are widely used for treatment of osteoporosis and cancer bone metastasis,which function mainly through an overall inhibition of osteoclast.However,not all osteoclasts are“bone eaters”;preosteoclasts(pOCs)play anabolic roles in bone formation and angiogenesis through coupling with osteoblasts and secreting platelet derived growth factor-BB(PDGF-BB).In this study,a bone-targeted pH-responsive nanomaterial was designed for selectively eliminating mature osteoclasts(mOCs)without affecting pOCs.Biocompatible cerium nano-system(CNS)was guided to the acidic extracellular microenvironment created by mOCs and gained oxidative enzymatic activity.Oxidative CNS decreased the viability of mOCs through accumulating intracellular reactive oxygen species and enhancing calcium oscillation.Non-acid secreting anabolic pOCs were thus preserved and kept producing PDGF-BB,which lead to mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis and endothelial progenitor cell angiogenesis via PI3K-Akt activated focal adhesion kinase.In treating osteoporotic ovariectomized mice,CNS showed better protective effects compare with the current first line antiresorptive drug due to the better anabolic effects marked by higher level of bone formation and vascularization.We provided a novel anabolic therapeutic strategy in treating bone disorders with excessive bone resorption.Ce Dou Jianmei Li Jian He Fei Luo Tao Yu Qijie Dai Yueqi Chen Jianzhong Xu Xiaochao Yang Shiwu Dong 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:3
18Machine learning helps improve diagnostic ability of subclinical keratoconus using Scheimpflug and OCT imaging modalities显示文摘Purpose:To develop an automated classification system using a machine learning classifier to distinguish clinically unaffected eyes in patients with keratoconus from a normal control population based on a combination of Scheimpflug camera images and ultra-high-resolution optical coherence tomography(UHR-OCT)imaging data.Methods:A total of 121 eyes from 121 participants were classified by 2 cornea experts into 3 groups:normal(50 eyes),with keratoconus(38 eyes)or with subclinical keratoconus(33 eyes).All eyes were imaged with a Scheimpflug camera and UHR-OCT.Corneal morphological features were extracted from the imaging data.A neural network was used to train a model based on these features to distinguish the eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal eyes.Fisher’s score was used to rank the differentiable power of each feature.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were calculated to obtain the area under the ROC curves(AUCs).Results:The developed classification model used to combine all features from the Scheimpflug camera and UHR-OCT dramatically improved the differentiable power to discriminate between normal eyes and eyes with subclinical keratoconus(AUC=0.93).The variation in the thickness profile within each individual in the corneal epithelium extracted from UHR-OCT imaging ranked the highest in differentiating eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal eyes.Conclusion:The automated classification system using machine learning based on the combination of Scheimpflug camera data and UHR-OCT imaging data showed excellent performance in discriminating eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal eyes.The epithelial features extracted from the OCT images were the most valuable in the discrimination process.This classification system has the potential to improve the differentiable power of subclinical keratoconus and the efficiency of keratoconus screening.Ce Shi Mengyi Wang Tiantian Zhu Ying Zhang Yufeng Ye Jun Jiang Sisi Chen Fan Lu Meixiao Shen 2020Eye and Vision2020,7,1:3
