The incidences and mortalities of major cancers in China, 2009显示文摘In 2012, the National Central Cancer Registry (NCCR) of China collected cancer registration information for the year 2009 from local cancer registries and analyzed it to describe the incidences and mortalities of cancers in China. Based on the data quality criteria from NCCR, data from 104 registries covering 85,470,522 people (57,489,009 in urban areas and 27,981,513 in rural areas) were checked and evaluated. The data from 72 registries were qualified and accepted for the cancer registry annual report in 2012. The total cancer incident cases and cancer deaths were 244,366 and 154,310, respectively. The morphologically verified cases accounted for 67.23%, and 3.14% of the incident cases only had information from death certifications. The crude incidence in the Chinese cancer registration areas was 285.91/ 100,000 (317.97/100,000 in males and 253.09/100,000 in females). The age-standardized rates for incidences based on the Chinese standard population (ASRIC) and the world standard population (ASRIW) were 146.87/100,000 and 191.72/100,000, respectively, with a cumulative incidence of 22.08%. The cancer mortality in the Chinese cancer registration areas was 180.54/100,000 (224.20/100,000 in males and 135.85/100,000 in females). The age-standardized rates for mortalities based on the Chinese standard population (ASRMC) and the world standard population (ASRMW) were 85.06/100,000 and 115.65/100,000, respectively, and the cumulative mortality was 12.94% . Lung cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, encephaloma, lymphoma, female breast cancer, and cervical cancer were the most common cancers, accounting for 75% of all cancer cases. Lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, encephaloma, leukemia, and lymphoma accounted for 80% of all cancer deaths. The cancer registration's population coverage has been increasing, and its data quality is improving. As the basis of the cancer control program, the cancer registry plays an important role in directing anticancer strategies in the medium and long term. Because cancer burdens are different in urban and rural areas in China, prevention and control efforts should be based on practical situations.Wanqing Chen Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Ping Zhao Guanglin Li Lingyou Wu Jie He 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer2013,32,3:111
Report of incidence and mortality in China cancer registries, 2009显示文摘Objective: The National Central Cancer Registry (NCCR) collected cancer registration data in 2009 from local cancer registries in 2012, and analyzed to describe cancer incidence and mortality in China. Methods: On basis of the criteria of data quality from NCCR, data submitted from 104 registries were checked and evaluated. There were 72 registries' data qualified and accepted for cancer registry annual report in 2012. Descriptive analysis included incidence and mortality stratified by area (urban/rural), sex, age group and cancer site. The top 10 common cancers in different groups, proportion and cumulative rates were also calculated. Chinese population census in 1982 and Segi's population were used for age-standardized incidence/mortality rates. Results: All 72 cancer registries covered a total of 85,470,522 population (57,489,009 in urban and 27,981,513 in rural areas). The total new cancer incident cases and cancer deaths were 244,366 and 154,310, respectively. The morphology verified cases accounted for 67.23%, and 3.14% of incident cases only had information from death certifications. The crude incidence rate in Chinese cancer registration areas was 285.91/100,000 (males 317.97/100,000, females 253.09/100,000), age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population (ASIRC) and by world standard population (ASIRW) were 146.87/100,000 and 191.72/100,000 with the cumulative incidence rate (0-74 age years old) of 22.08%. The cancer incidence and ASIRC were 303.39/100,000 and 150.31/100,000 in urban areas whereas in rural areas, they were 249.98/100,000 and 139.68/100,000, respectively. The cancer mortality in Chinese cancer registration areas was 180.54/100,000 (224.20/100,000 in males and 135.85/100,000 in females), age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population (ASMRC) and by world standard population (ASMRW) were 85.06/100,000 and 115.65/100,000, and the cumulative incidence rate (0-74 age years old) was 12.94%. The cancer mortality and ASMRC were 181.86/100,000 and 80.86/100,000 in urban areas, whereas in rural areas, they were 177.83/100,000 and 94.40/100,000 respectively. Lung cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreas cancer, encephaloma, lymphoma, female breast cancer and cervical cancer, were the most common cancers, accounting for 75% of all cancer cases in urban and rural areas. Lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, encephaloma, leukemia and lymphoma accounted for 80% of all cancer deaths. The cancer spectrum showed difference between urban and rural areas, males and females. The main cancers in rural areas were cancers of the stomach, followed by esophageal cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer and colorectal cancer, whereas the main cancer in urban areas was lung cancer, followed by liver cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer. Conclusions: The coverage of cancer registration population has been increasing and data quality is improving. As the basis of cancer control program, cancer registry plays an important role in making anticancer strategy in medium and long term. As cancer burdens are different between urban and rural areas in China, prevention and control should be implemented based on practical situation.Wanqing Chen Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Ping Zhao Guanglin Li Lingyou Wu Jie He 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,1:202
Liver cancer incidence and mortality in China: Temporal trends and projections to 2030显示文摘Objective: Liver cancer is one of the most common cancers and major cause of cancer deaths in China, which accounts for over 50% of new cases and deaths worldwide. The systematic liver cancer statistics including of projection through 2030 could provide valuable information for prevention and control strategies in China, and experience for other countries. Methods: The burden of liver cancer in China in 2014 was estimated using 339 cancer registries' data selected from Chinese National Cancer Center(NCC).Incident cases of 22 cancer registries were applied for temporal trends from 2000 to 2014.The burden of liver cancer through 2030 was projected using age-period-cohort model. Results: About 364,800 new cases of liver cancer(268,900 males and 95,900 females) occurred in China, and about 318,800 liver cancer deaths(233,500 males and 85,300 females) in 2014.Western regions of China had the highest incidence and mortality rates.Incidence and mortality rates decreased by about 2.3% and 2.6% per year during the period of 2000-2014,respectively,and would decrease by more than 44% between 2014 and 2030 in China. The young generation, particularly for those aged under 40 years, showed a faster down trend. Conclusions: Based on the analysis, incidence and mortality rates of liver cancer are expected to decrease through 2030,but the burden of liver cancer is still serious in China, especially in rural and western areas. Most cases of liver cancer in China can be prevented through vaccination and more prevention efforts should be focused on high risk groups.Rongshou Zheng Chunfeng Qu Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Kexin Sun Xiuying Gu Changfa Xia Zhixun Yang He Li Wenqiang Wei Wanqing Chen Jie He 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6:132
Cancer incidence and mortality in China, 2014显示文摘Background: National Central Cancer Registry of China(NCCRC) updated nationwide cancer statistics using population-based cancer registry data in 2014 collected from all available cancer registries. Methods: In 2017, 449 cancer registries submitted cancer registry data in 2014, among which 339 registries' data met the criteria of quality control and were included in analysis. These cancer registries covered 288,243,347 population, accounting for about 21.07% of the national population in 2014. Numbers of nationwide new cancer cases and deaths were estimated using calculated incidence and mortality rates and corresponding national population stratified by area, sex, age group and cancer type. The world Segi's population was applied for agestandardized rates. Results: A total of 3,804,000 new cancer cases were diagnosed, the crude incidence rate was 278.07/100,000(301.67/100,000 in males, 253.29/100,000 in females) and the age-standardized incidence rate by world standard population(ASIRW) was 186.53/100,000. Calculated age-standardized incidence rate was higher in urban areas than in rural areas(191.6/100,000 vs. 179.2/100,000). South China had the highest cancer incidence rate while Southwest China had the lowest incidence rate. Cancer incidence rate was higher in female for population between20 to 54 years but was higher in male for population younger than 20 years or over 54 years. A total of 2,296,000 cancer deaths were reported, the crude mortality rate was 167.89/100,000(207.24/100,000 in males,126.54/100,000 in females) and the age-standardized mortality rate by world standard population(ASMRW) was106.09/100,000. Calculated age-standardized mortality rate was higher in rural areas than in urban areas(110.3/100,000 vs. 102.5/100,000). East China had the highest cancer mortality rate while North China had the lowest mortality rate. The mortality rate in male was higher than that in female. Common cancer types and major causes of cancer death differed between age group and sex. Conclusions: Heavy cancer burden and its disparities between area, sex and age group pose a major challenge to public health in China. Nationwide cancer registry plays a crucial role in cancer prevention and control.Wanqing Chen Kexin Sun Rongshou Zheng Hongmei Zeng Siwei Zhang Changfa Xia Zhixun Yang He Li Xiaonong Zou Jie He 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,1:832
Incidence and mortality of stomach cancer in China,2014显示文摘Objective: In this study,we aimed to estimate the updated incidence and mortality rate of stomach cancer based on the cancer registration data in 2014,collected by the National Central Cancer Registry of China(NCCRC).Methods: In 2017,339 registries' data were qualified based on the criteria of data quality control of the NCCRC.Cases of stomach cancer were retrieved from the national database. We estimated numbers of stomach cancer cases and deaths in China using age-specific rates and corresponding national population stratified by area,sex,agegroup(0,1–4,5–9,10–14,…,85+).Chinese standard population in 2000 and Segi's world population were applied for age-standardized incidence and mortality rates. Results: In 2014,410,400 new stomach cancer cases and 293,800 cancer-associated deaths were estimated to have occurred in China. The crude incidence rate of stomach cancer was 30.00/100,000,age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 19.62/100,000 and19.51/100,000,respectively.The crude mortality rate of stomach cancer was 21.48/100,000,age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were 13.44/100,000 and13.30/100,000,respectively.Incidence and mortality rates in rural areas were both higher than that in urban areas.Stomach cancer has a strong relationship with gender and age.The disease has occurred more frequently among men than women with a male to female ratio of 2.4 for ASIRC.After age group of 40-44 years, incidence rates are substantially higher in men than in women, same pattern was seen for age-specific mortality rates. Conclusions: There is still a heavy burden of stomach cancer in China. The incidence and mortality patterns of stomach cancer show substantial gender and regional disparities.Great effort is needed to provide more accessible health services, sufficient financial resources, and adequate cancer-care infrastructure for the Chinese population, especially for people living in rural areas.Lei Yang Rongshou Zheng Ning Wang Yannan Yuan Shuo Liu Huichao Li Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Wanqing Chen 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,3:114
Incidence and mortality of laryngeal cancer in China, 2011显示文摘Objective: Laryngeal cancer is the common cancer of the upper aerodigestive tract. We aimed to use the national cancer registration data in 2011 to estimate the incidence and mortality of laryngeal cancer within China. Methods: Comparable, high-quality data from 177 population-based cancer registries were qualified for analysis. The pooled data were stratified by area, sex and age group. National new cases and deaths of laryngeal cancer were estimated using age-specific rates and national population in 2010. All incidence and death rates were age-standardized to the 2000 Chinese standard population and Segi's population, which were expressed per 100,000 populations. Results: All 177 cancer registries covered a total of 175,310,169 population(98,341,507 in urban and 76,968,662 in rural areas), accounting for 13.01% of the national population. The data quality indicators of proportion of morphological verification(MV%), percentage of cancer cases identified with death certification only(DCO%) and mortality to incidence ratio(M/I) were 77.98%, 2.62% and 0.55, respectively. Estimated 20,875 new cases of laryngeal cancer were diagnosed and 11,488 deaths from laryngeal cancer occurred in China in 2011. The crude incidence rate of laryngeal cancer was 1.55/100,000(2.69/100,000 in males and 0.35/100,000 in females). Age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 1.13/100,000 and 1.14/100,000, respectively. Laryngeal cancer is much rarer in females than in males. The incidence rate was higher in urban areas than that in rural areas. The crude mortality rate of laryngeal cancer was 0.85/100,000(1.42/100,000 in males and 0.25/100,000 in females). Age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were both 0.61/100,000. The mortality rate in males was much higher than that in females. There was no definite difference in mortality rates of laryngeal cancer between urban and rural areas. Conclusions: Larynx is a specialized area and cancer of larynx significantly affects the quality of life for the patients. Comprehensive measures should be carried out to prevent the ascent of laryngeal cancer.Lingbin Du Huizhang Li Chen Zhu Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Wanqing Chen 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,1:29

Annual cost of illness of stomach and esophageal cancer patientsin urban and rural areas in China: A multi-center study显示文摘Objective: Stomach and esophageal cancer are imposing huge threats to the health of Chinese people whereas there were few studies on the financial burden of the two cancers. Methods: Costs per hospitalization of all patients with stomach or esophageal cancer discharged between September 2015 and August 2016 in seven cities/counties in China were collected, together with their demographic information and clinical details. Former patients in the same hospitals were sampled to collect information on annual direct non-medical cost, indirect costs and annual number of hospitalization. Annual direct medical cost was obtained by multiplying cost per hospitalization by annual number of hospitalization. Annual cost of illness(ACI)was obtained by adding the average value of annual direct medical cost, direct non-medical cost and indirect cost, stratified by sex, age, clinical stage, therapy and pathologic type in urban and rural areas. Costs per hospitalization were itemized into eight parts to calculate the proportion of each part. All costs were converted to 2016 US dollars(1 USD=6.6423 RMB).Results: Totally 19,986 cases were included, predominately male. Mean ages of stomach cancer and urban patients were lower than that of esophageal cancer and rural patients. ACI of stomach and esophageal cancer patients were $10,449 and $13,029 in urban areas, and $2,927 and $3,504 in rural areas, respectively. Greater ACI was associated with male, non-elderly patients as well as those who were in stage I and underwent surgeries.Western medicine fee took the largest proportion of cost per hospitalization. Conclusions: The ACI of stomach and esophageal cancer was tremendous and varied substantially among the population in China. Preferential policies of medical insurance should be designed to tackle with this burden and further reduce the health care inequalities.Zhixun Yang Hongmei Zeng Ruyi Xia Qian Liu Kexin Sun Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Changfa Xia He Li Shuzheng Liu Zhiyi Zhang Yuqin Liu Guizhou Guo Guohui Song Yigong Zhu Xianghong Wu Bingbing Song Xianzhen Liao Yanfang Chen Wenqiang Wei Guihua Zhuang Wanqing Chen 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,4:22
Xiuying Gu Rongshou Zheng Changfa Xia Hongmei Zeng Siwei Zhang Xiaonong Zou Zhixun Yang He Li Wanqing Chen 2019癌症2019,38,1:18
Incidence, distribution of histological subtypes and primary sites of soft tissue sarcoma in China显示文摘Objective: Soft tissue sarcomas(STSs) are rare malignancies deriving from mesenchyme. In this study, we reported the epidemiology of STS in China using population-based cancer registry data. Methods: In 2017, qualified data from 339 cancer registries were included in the national database. All STS cases were retrieved based on the morphological and topographical codes of International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, and were categorized into different histological subtypes and primary sites accordingly.Nationwide new STS cases were estimated using incidence rate of STS and the national population, and were reported for gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) and STSs other than GIST separately by sex and region.Distribution of histological subtypes and primary sites of STS were calculated, as well as primary sites of GIST.Results: Approximately 39,900 new STS cases occurred nationwide in China in 2014, accounting for 1.05% of overall cancer incidence. The crude incidence rate was 2.91/100,000 and generally increased with age.An overall female predilection was found.GIST was the most common histological subtype, followed by nerve sheath tumor and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor, leiomyosarcoma, liposarcoma, and fibrosarcoma.About 67.5% of GIST occurred in stomach while 1.4% were recorded outside the gastrointestinal tract.Connective, subcutaneous and other soft tissues were the most common primary site, of which extremities were the major subsite. Conclusions: The burden of STS is not serious in China relatively. However, due to their histological and topographical complexity, STSs should not be unnoticed, and more basic and clinical studies should focus on STSs.Zhixun Yang Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng He Li Wanqing Chen 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3:16
Colorectal cancer burden and trends:Comparison between China and major burden countries in the world显示文摘Objective:To summarize the colorectal cancer(CRC)burden and trend in the world, and compare the difference of CRC burden between other countries and China. Methods:Incidence and mortality data were extracted from the GLOBOCAN2018 and Cancer Incidence in Five Continents.Age-specific incidence trend was conducted by Joinpoint analysis and average annual percent changes were calculated. Results:About 1.85 million new cases and 0.88 million deaths were expected in 2018 worldwide, including 0.52 million(28.20%)new cases and 0.25 million(28.11%)deaths in China.Hungary had the highest age-standardized incidence and mortality rates in the world, while for China, the incidence and mortality rates were only half of that.CRC incidence and mortality were highly correlated with human development index(HDI).Unlike the rapid increase in Republic of Korea and the downward trend in Canada and Australia, the age-standardized incidence rates by world standard population in China and Norway were rising gradually. The age-specific incidence rate in the age group of 50-59 years in China was increasing rapidly, while in Republic of Korea and Canada, the fastest growing age group was 30-39 years. Conclusions:The variations of CRC burden reflect the difference of risk factors,as well as levels of HDI and screening(early detection activities). The burden of CRC in China is high, and the incidence of CRC continues to increase, which may lead to a sustained increase in the burden of CRC in China in the future.Screening should be expanded to control CRC,and focused on young people in China.Jiachen Zhou Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Shaoming Wang Ru Chen Kexin Sun Minjuan Li Jianhua Gu Guihua Zhuang Wenqiang Wei 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,1:16
Cancer statistics in Chinese older people,2022:current burden, time trends, and comparisons with the US,Japan, and the Republic of Korea显示文摘Largely due to population ageing, the cancer burden from older people has been rising, which imposed considerable pressure on current Chinese healthcare system. We provide comprehensive information about cancer burden of Chinese older people based on the most recent data from National Central Cancer Registry of China. The logarithmic linear regression was used to project the current cancer burden in 2022,and Joinpoint regression was used for temporal trend analysis from 2000 to 2017.We also estimated cancer statistics of older people in the US,Japan and the Republic of Korea for comparisons. It is estimated that 2.79 million cases and 1.94 million deaths occur for Chinese older people, representing 55.8%and 68.2%of cases and deaths in all population in 2022.The overall cancer incidence rate gradually increased among older women, while the mortality rates declined for both sexes.Notably, approximately 10.0%of all cases and 17.7%of all deaths are from people aged over 80 years, and cancer incidence and mortality in this age group showed upward trends for women.Lung cancer and digestive cancers are the leading cancer types for Chinese older people.Compared with other countries,China has lower incidence rates but higher mortality rates for older people. The rapidly growing burden of prostate cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and declines in esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, and liver cancer among older people indicate the cancer pattern in China is being in a transition stage to that in developed countries. Our findings imply that it should be the national health priority to meet the growing demands for cancer diagnosis, treatment and care services from the older people as the rapid population ageing in next few decades.Wen Ju Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Kexin Sun Shaoming Wang Ru Chen Li Li Wenqiang Wei Jie He 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5:15
Ovary cancer incidence and mortality in China, 2011显示文摘Objective: To evaluate and analyze ovary cancer incidence and mortality in China in 2011 using ovary cancer data from population-based cancer registration in China, and to provide scientific information for its control and prevention. Methods: Invasive cases of ovary cancer were extracted and analyzed from the overall Chinese cancer database in 2011, which were based on data from 177 population-based cancer registries distributing in 28 provinces. The crude, standardized, and truncated incidences and mortalities et al. were calculated and new and deaths cases from ovary cancer throughout China and in different regions in 2011 were estimated using Chinese practical population. Results: The estimates of new ovary cancer cases and deaths were 45,223 and 18,430, respectively, in China in 2011. The crude incidence rate, age-standardized rate by Chinese standard population(ASR-C) and agestandardized rate by world standard population(ASR-W) incidence were 6.89/100,000, 5.35/100,000 and 5.08/100,000, respectively; the crude, ASR-C and ASR-W mortalities were 2.81/100,000, 2.01/100,000 and 1.99/100,000, respectively. The incidence and mortality in urban areas were higher than those in rural areas. The age-specific incidence and mortality increased rapidly from age 35-39 and peaked at age 60-64 or 75-79 years. After age 45 or 55, the age-specific incidence and death rates in urban were much higher than those in rural areas. Conclusions: Compared with GLOBOCAN 2012 data, the ovary cancer incidence in China in 2011 was at middle level, but its mortality was at low level worldwide.Kuangrong Wei Yuanming Li Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Zhiheng Liang Huishan Cen Wanqing Chen 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,1:14
Comparison of cancer incidence and mortality in three GDP per capita levels in China, 2013显示文摘Objective:In this research, the patterns of cancer incidence and mortality in areas with different gross domestic product per capita(GDPPC)levels in China were explored, using data from population-based cancer registries in 2013,collected by the National Central Cancer Registry(NCCR).Methods:Data from 255 cancer registries were qualified and included in this analysis.Based on the GDPPC data of 2014,cities/counties were divided into 3 levels:high-,middle-and low-GDPPC areas, with 40,000 and 80,000 RMB per year as cut points. We calculated cancer incidences and mortalities in these three levels, stratified by gender and age group. The national population of the Fifth Census in 2000 and Segi’s population were applied for age-standardized rates. Results:The crude incidence and mortality rates as well as age-standardized incidence rate(ASIR)showed positive associations with GDPPC level. The age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR)nevertheless showed a negative association with GDPPC level. The ASMR in high-,middle-and low-GDPPC areas was 103.12/100,000,112.49/100,000 and 117.43/100,000,respectively.Lung cancer was by far the most common cancer in all three GDPPC levels. It was also the leading cause of cancer death, regardless of gender and GDPPC level.Negative associations with GDPPC level were found for the ASIRs of lung, stomach, esophageal and liver cancer, whereas colorectal and breast cancer showed positive associations.Except for breast cancer, the ASMRs of the other five cancers were always higher in middle-and low-GDPPC areas than in high-GDPPC areas. Conclusions:The economic development is one of the main factors of the heavy cancer burden on Chinese population. It would be reasonable to implement cancer control strategies referring to the local GDPPC level.Zhixun Yang Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Changfa Xia He Li Li Wang Yanhong Wang Wanqing Chen 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,5:13
The epidemiology of colorectal cancer in China显示文摘Objective:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common cancers and the major cause of cancer death in China. The aim of this study was to estimate the burden of CRC in China.Materials and methods:Data from the National Cancer Center(NCC)of China was used and stratified by area(urban/rural),sex(male/female)for analyzing the age-speci c incidence and mortality rates.Time trend of colorectal cancer was calculated based on the 22 high-quality cancer registries in China.National new cases and deaths of colorectal cancer were estimated using age-speci c rates multiplied by the corresponding national population in 2014.The Chinese population in 2000 and Segi’s world population were used to calculate age-standardized rates of colorectal cancer in China.Results:Overall,370,400 new colorectal cancer cases and 179,600 deaths were estimated in China in 2014,with about 214,100 new cases in men and 156,300 in women.Meanwhile,104,000 deaths cases of colorectal cancer were men and 75,600 deaths were women, which accounted for 9.74%and 7.82%of all cancer incidence and deaths in China, separately.Relatively higher incidence and mortality was observed in urban areas of China. And the Eastern areas of China showed the highest incidence and mortality. The age-standardized incidence and mortality rate of colorectal cancer has increased by about 1.9%per year for incidence and about 0.9%per year for mortality rate from 2000 to 2014.Conclusion:With gradually higher incidence and mortality rate in the past 15 years, colorectal cancer became a major challenge to China’s public health.E ective control strategies are needed in China.Rongshou Zheng Hongmei Zeng Siwei Zhang Xiuying Gu Kexin Sun Changfa Xia Zhixun Yang He Li Wanqing Chen 2018Global Health Journal2018,2,3:12
Interactions between life expectancy and the incidence and mortality rates of cancer in China: a population-based cluster analysis显示文摘Background:The relationship between cancer and life expectancy is well established in both developed and developing countries.China is a vast country with significant geographical differences in population structure and healthcare, and thus provides a unique opportunity to analyze the complex relationship between life expectancy and cancer incidence and mortality rates. Methods:Cancer data were extracted for a total of 255 units(cities or counties)from the 2013 National Central Cancer Registry.Life expectancy data at the unit level were obtained from the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Linear regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between life expectancy and crude incidence and mortality rates of cancer. In a separate analysis, life expectancy was rated as low(<76.0 years),middle(76-80 years),or high(>80 years). Results:Overall, the cancer incidence and mortality rates positively correlated with life expectancy in both sexes(R at 0.37 and 0.50,P<0.001).The correlation was significant for the following cancers:lung,colorectal,prostate,blad-der and pancreas,as well as for lymphoma in men(R 0.36-0.58,P<0.001),lung,breast,colorectal,thyroid,uterus,and ovary in women(R 0.18-0.51,P<0.001).We failed to observe an association between upper gastrointestinal cancer and life expectancy. The number of cities/counties with low, middle and high life expectancy levels were 110,101 and 44,respectively.The highest age-standardized cancer incidence rate was observed in areas with a high life expec-tancy level(192.83/100,000).The highest age-standardized mortality rate was in areas with the lowest life expectancy(118.44/100,000).Cancers of the stomach, liver and esophagus are major cancer types in areas with low and middle life expectancy. In contrast, areas with high life expectancy had high incidence and mortality rates of colorectal can-cer,breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. Conclusions:Longer life expectancy is associated with higher overall cancer incidence and mortality in China. The cancer pattern also varies substantially across areas with different life expectancy levels.Life expectancy levels must be considered when developing strategies to prevent and treat cancers.Xiuying Gu Rongshou Zheng Changfa Xia Hongmei Zeng Siwei Zhang Xiaonong Zou Zhixun Yang He Li Wanqing Chen 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:12

Investigation of the tribological performance of friction pair for disc brake of drilling rig显示文摘Developing disc-brake pair materials with better performances is a key technique for thedisc brake of drilling rig. Screening experiments were carried out with five different brake-disc ma-terials in pair with two different brake-block materials. The frictional coefficient along with the cor-responding steady coefficient and fluctuating coefficient as well as the wear rate have been dis-cussed. Some conclusions have been achieved: (1) Between the two different cladding materialsbuilt-up on the steel 20~# and 35~# as brake-disc materials, the overall tribological behaviour of theone is better than that of the other. (2) Between the two brake-block composites, the one is betterthan the other. (3) Among these brake pair materials, the tribological behaviours of the second kindof brake-block composite in pair with the second build-up welding material are much better thanthat of the others, therefore, these materials can be selected preliminarily to use in disc brake fordrilling rig.ZHANG Siwei WANG Xinhua FAN Qiyun LIN Li University of Petroleum, Beijing 102200, China 2001Science China Mathematics2001,44,S1:6
Fe5C2 nanoparticles as low-cost HER electrocatalyst:the importance of Co substitution显示文摘Constructing and understanding the doping effect of secondary metal in transition metal carbide(TMC)catalysts is pivotal for the design of low-cost hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) electrocatalysts. In this work, we developed a wet-chemistry strategy for synthesizing Co-modified Fe_5C_2 nanoparticles((Fe_(1-x)Cox)_5C_2 NPs) as highly active HER electrocatalysts in basic solution. The structure of(Fe_(1-x)Cox)_5C_2 NPs was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectra(EXAFS) and scanning/transmission electron microscopy(S/TEM), indicating that the isomorphous substitution of cobalt in the lattice of Fe_5C_2.(Fe_(0.75) Co_(0.25))_5C_2 exhibited the best HER activity(174 mV for j = -10 mA/cm^2). Computational calculation results indicate that Co provides the most active site for HER. X-ray adsorption spectra(XAS) studies further suggested that the electron transfer in Fe–C bonds are enhanced by the substitution of Co, which modulates the hydrogen adsorption on the adjacent electronic-enriched carbon, and therefore promotes HER activity. Our results affirm the design of lowcost bimetallic TMCs based HER catalysts.Siwei Li Pengju Ren Ce Yang Xi Liu Zhen Yin Weizhen Li Hanjun Yang Jian Li Xiaoping Wang Yi Wang Ruochen Cao Lili Lin Siyu Yao Xiaodong Wen Ding Ma 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,20:6
Power System Transient Stability Analysis with Integration of DFIGs Based on Center of Inertia显示文摘As power systems experience increased wind penetration,an effective analysis and assessment of the influence of wind energy on power system transient stability is required. This paper presents a novel center of inertia(COI)approach to understand how integrated doubly fed induction generators(DFIGs)affect the transient dynamics of a power system.Under the COI coordinate, the influence of integrated DFIGs is separated into the COI related and individual synchronous generator related parts.Key factors that affect the COI’s dynamic motion as well as the rotor dynamics of each individual synchronous generator with respect to the DFIG integration are investigated. To further validate the analysis, comparative simulations of three different scenarios with varying DFIG capacities, access locations, and the replacement of synchronous generators are conducted. The results show that the dynamics of the COI and the individual generators are affected by the integrated DFIGs via different mechanisms, and are sensitive to different variables in the DFIG’s integration condition.Siwei Liu Gengyin Li Ming Zhou 2016CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2016,2,2:5
