3《西游记》诗词功能考辨显示文摘《西游记》与文艺复兴时期以来的任何典型的西方散文小说不同,它是由散文大量地交织着许多种类的和不同长度的诗词组成的.当然,将诗词与散文小说相结合,对中国白话小说来说,不是独此一家.以时代久远的西方类似著作来看,人们可以举出梅尼普斯的早期讽刺作品,后来有波依提乌的《哲学的慰籍》、一部犹如《奥卡森和尼克莱特》那样的著作,以及布尼安和拉伯雷的著作.然而,在中国文学史中,这类写作形式已经明显地得到了更加精深的培植.这是因为诗词的使用为特定的文学功能服务,已经是唐代小说和戏剧的一个特征了.在诸如《莺莺传》和《嵩岳嫁女》这类小说著作里,有的诗词是将披露人物的感情因素用来发展情节的.或者,有的诗词是为了点缀戏剧对白的片言只语的,这是在后来的戏剧文学广泛发展中所获得的一个特征.在散文小说中应用诗词,是为了叙述、描写和说教的目的.由于佛教文学作品不断增长的大众性和变文的发展,无疑地给予了更深远的推动.安东尼.C.y 赵鑫虎 1995伊犁师范学院学报(社会科学版)1995,0,3:2
