| 2 | A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. | 3 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. | 4 | Tom20 senses iron-activated ROS signaling to promote melanoma cell pyroptosis显示文摘Iron has been shown to trigger oxidative stress by elevating reactive oxygen species (ROS) and to participate in different modes of cell death,such as ferroptosis,apoptosis and necroptosis. However,whether iron-elevated ROS is also linked to pyroptosis has not been reported. Here,we demonstrate that iron-activated ROS can induce pyroptosis via a Tom20-Bax-caspase-GSDME pathway. In melanoma cells,iron enhanced ROS signaling initiated by CCCP,causing the oxidation and oligomerization of the mitochondrial outer membrane protein Tom20. Bax is recruited to mitochondria by oxidized Tom20,which facilitates cytochrome c release to cytosol to activate caspase-3;eventually triggering pyroptotic death by inducing GSDME cleavage. Therefore,ROS acts as a causative factor and Tom20 senses ROS signaling for iron-driven pyroptotic death of melanoma cells. Since iron activates ROS for GSDME-dependent pyroptosis induction and melanoma cells specifically express a high level of GSDME,iron may be a potential candidate for melanoma therapy. Based on the functional mechanism of iron shown above,we further demonstrate that iron supplementation at a dosage used in iron-deficient patients is sufficient to maximize the anti-tumor effect of clinical ROS-inducing drugs to inhibit xenograft tumor growth and metastasis of melanoma cells through GSDME-dependent pyroptosis. Moreover,no obvious side effects are observed in the normal tissues and organs of mice during the combined treatment of clinical drugs and iron. | 6 | Apelin-13 inhibits apoptosis and excessive autophagy in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Apelin-13 is a novel endogenous ligand for an angiotensin-like orphan G-protein coupled receptor,and it may be neuroprotective against cerebral ischemia injury.However,the precise mechanisms of the effects of apelin-13 remain to be elucidated.To investigate the effects of apelin-13 on apoptosis and autophagy in models of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury,a rat model was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion.Apelin-13(50μg/kg)was injected into the right ventricle as a treatment.In addition,an SH-SY5Y cell model was established by oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion,with cells first cultured in sugar-free medium with 95%N2 and 5%CO2 for 4 hours and then cultured in a normal environment with sugar-containing medium for 5 hours.This SH-SY5Y cell model was treated with 10-7 M apelin-13 for 5 hours.Results showed that apelin-13 protected against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.Apelin-13 treatment alleviated neuronal apoptosis by increasing the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax and significantly decreasing cleaved caspase-3 expression.In addition,apelin-13 significantly inhibited excessive autophagy by regulating the expression of LC3B,p62,and Beclin1.Furthermore,the expression of Bcl-2 and the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)/Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)pathway was markedly increased.Both LY294002(20μM)and rapamycin(500 nM),which are inhibitors of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway,significantly attenuated the inhibition of autophagy and apoptosis caused by apelin-13.In conclusion,the findings of the present study suggest that Bcl-2 upregulation and mTOR signaling pathway activation lead to the inhibition of apoptosis and excessive autophagy.These effects are involved in apelin-13-induced neuroprotection against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury,both in vivo and in vitro.The study was approved by the Animal Ethical and Welfare Committee of Jining Medical University,China(approval No.2018-JS-001)in February 2018. | Zi-Qi Shao Shan-Shan Dou Jun-Ge Zhu Hui-Qing Wang Chun-Mei Wang Bao-Hua Cheng Bo Bai | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,6: | 35 |
| 7 | Comparison of quartz sand, anthracite, shale and biological ceramsite for adsorptive removal of phosphorus from aqueous solution显示文摘The choice of substrates with high phosphorus adsorption capacity is vital for sustainable phosphorus removal from waste water in constructed wetlands. In this study, four substrates were used: quartz sand, anthracite, shale and biological ceramsite. These substrate samples were characterized by Xray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy studies for their mineral components(chemical components) and surface characteristics. The dynamic experimental results revealed the following ranking order for total phosphorus(TP) removal efficiency: anthracite > biological ceramsite > shale > quartz sand. The adsorptive removal capacities for TP using anthracite, biological ceramsite, shale and quartz sand were 85.87, 81.44, 59.65, and 55.98 mg/kg, respectively. Phosphorus desorption was also studied to analyze the substrates' adsorption efficiency in wastewater treatment as well as the substrates' ability to be reused for treatment. It was noted that the removal performance for the different forms of phosphorus was dependent on the nature of the substrate and the adsorption mechanism. A comparative analysis showed that the removal of particulate phosphorus was much easier using shale. Whereas anthracite had the highest soluble reactive phosphorus(SRP) adsorptive capacity, biological ceramsite had the highest dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP) removal capacity. Phosphorus removal by shale and biological ceramsite was mainly through chemical adsorption, precipitation or biological adsorption. | 8 | Effect of Surface Mechanical Attrition Treatment on Corrosion Behavior of 316 Stainless Steel显示文摘The nanocrystalline microstructure of the surface of 316 stainless steel (316SS) induced by surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) was determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The technique of hydrogen embrittlement was first used to obtain the information of the brittleness cleavage plane. The effects of SMAT and the following annealing process on the corrosion behavior of 316SS were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization curves and potentiostatic critical pitting temperature measurements. The results demonstrated that the nanocrystalline layer with an average grain size of 19 nm was produced. However, there were lots of cracks on the surface, which led to the degradation in the corrosion resistance of 316SS after SMAT. Nevertheless, after annealing treatment, the corrosion resistance of the nanocrystalline surface had been improved greatly. | 13 | Pathways of China's PM;air quality 2015–2060 in the context of carbon neutrality显示文摘Clean air policies in China have substantially reduced particulate matter(PM;) air pollution in recent years,primarily by curbing end-of-pipe emissions.However,reaching the level of the World Health Organization(WHO) guidelines may instead depend upon the air quality co-benefits of ambitious climate action.Here,we assess pathways of Chinese PM;air quality from 2015 to 2060 under a combination of scenarios that link global and Chinese climate mitigation pathways(i.e.global 2℃-and 1.5℃-pathways,National Determined Contributions(NDC) pledges and carbon neutrality goals) to local clean air policies.We find that China can achieve both its near-term climate goals(peak emissions) and PM;air quality annual standard(35 μg/m;) by 2030 by fulfilling its NDC pledges and continuing air pollution control policies.However,the benefits of end-of-pipe control reductions are mostly exhausted by 2030,and reducing PM;exposure of the majority of the Chinese population to below 10 μg/m;by 2060 will likely require more ambitious climate mitigation efforts such as China’ s carbon neutrality goals and global1.5℃-pathways.Our results thus highlight that China’s carbon neutrality goals will play a critical role in reducing air pollution exposure to the level of the WHO guidelines and protecting public health. | Jing Cheng Dan Tong Qiang Zhang Yang Liu Yu Lei Gang Yan Liu Yan Sha Yu Ryna Yiyun Cui Leon Clarke Guannan Geng Bo Zheng Xiaoye Zhang Steven JDavis Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,12: | 23 |

| 17 | Immediate Effects of Hegu Needling on Adhesive Scapulohumeral Periarthritis显示文摘Objective:To observe the immediate effects of Hegu needling at Ashi points in patients with adhesive scapulohumeral periarthritis (SP). Methods:A total of 60 SP cases were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 in each group. Cases in the treatment group were treated with Hegu needling at Ashi points and normal needling at other local points. Cases in the control group were treated with normal needling at local points alone. The therapeutic efficacy was then evaluated and analyzed using short-form of McGill pain questionnaire (SF-MPQ) and Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) shoulder scoring system. Results:Hegu needling at Ashi points can substantially alleviate pain in patients with adhesive SP, showing a statistically significant difference when compared with the control group (P<0.01 or P<0.05). In addition, cases in the treatment group obtained better effects in abductor muscle strength, endurance, arm raising, internal rotation, external rotation, activities of daily living (ADL) and joint stability than those in the control group (P<0.01 or P<0.05). | 20 | Stability of QTL Across Environments and QTL-by-Environment Interactions for Plant and Ear Height in Maize显示文摘Better understanding of genotype-by-environment interaction(GEI)is expected to provide a solid foundation for genetic improvement of crop productivity especially under drought-prone environments.To elucidate the genetic basis of the plant and ear height,2 F2:3 populations were derived from the crosses of Qi 319 × Huangzaosi(Q/H)and Ye 478 × Huangzaosi(Y/H)with 230 and 235 families,respectively,and their parents were evaluated under 3 diverse environments in Henan,Beijing,and Xinjiang,China during the year of 2007 and 2008,and all the lines were also evaluated under water stress environment.The mapping results showed that a total of 21 and 12 QTLs were identified for plant height in the Q/H and Y/H population,respectively,and 24 and 13 QTLs for ear height,respectively.About 56 and 73% of the QTLs for 2 traits did not present significant QTL-by-environment interaction(QEI)in the normal joint analyses for Q/H and Y/H population,respectively,and about 73% of the QTLs detected did not show significant QEI according to joint analyses for stress condition in Q/H.Most of the detected major QTLs exhibited high stability across different environments.Besides,several major QTLs were detected with large and consistent effect under normal condition(Chr.6 and 7 in Q/H;Chr.1,3 and 9 in Y/H),or across 2 water regimes(Chr.1,8 and 10 for in Q/H).There were several constitutive QTLs(3 for Q/H and 1 for Y/H)with no or minor QTL-by-environment for the 2 populations.Finally,we found several genomic regions(Chr.1,10,etc.)to be co-located across the populations,which could provide useful reference for genetic improvement of these traits in maize breeding programs.Comparative genomic analysis revealed that 3 genes/genetic segments associated with plant height in rice were orthologous to these 3 identified genomic regions carrying the major QTLs for plant and ear height on Chr.1,6,and 8,respectively. | ZHANG Yan LI Yong-xiang WANG Wang LIU Zhi-zhai LIU Cheng PENG Bo TAN Wei-wei WANG Di SHI Yun-su SUN Bao-cheng SONG Yan-chun WANG Tian-yu LI Yu | 2010 | Agricultural Sciences in China2010,9,10: | 16 |
