3Wearable skin-like optoelectronic systems with suppression of motion artifacts for cuff-less continuous blood pressure monitor显示文摘According to the statistics of the World Health Organization,an estimated 17.9 million people die from cardiovascular diseases each year,representing 31%of all global deaths.Continuous non-invasive arterial pressure(CNAP)is essential for the management of cardiovascular diseases.However,it is difficult to achieve long-term CNAP monitoring with the daily use of current devices due to irritation of the skin as well as the lack of motion artifacts suppression.Here,we report a high-performance skin-like optoelectronic system integrated with ultra-thin flexible circuits to monitor CNAP.We introduce a theoretical model via the virtual work principle for predicting the precise blood pressure and suppressing motion artifacts,and propose optical difference in the frequency domain for stable optical measurements in terms of skin-like devices.We compare the results with the blood pressure acquired by invasive(intra-arterial)blood pressure monitoring for>1500 min in total on 44 subjects in an intensive care unit.The maximum absolute errors of diastolic and systolic blood pressure were±7/±10 mm Hg,respectively,in immobilized,and±10/±14 mm Hg,respectively,in walking scenarios.These strategies provide advanced blood pressure monitoring techniques,which would directly address an unmet clinical need or daily use for a highly vulnerable population.Haicheng Li Yinji Ma Ziwei Liang Zhouheng Wang Yu Cao Yuan Xu Hua Zhou Bingwei Lu Ying Chen Zhiyuan Han Shisheng Cai Xue Feng 2020National Science Review2020,7,5:7
4Autophagy-mediated regulation of neutrophils and clinical applications显示文摘Autophagy,an adaptive catabolic process,plays a cytoprotective role in enabling cellular homeostasis in the innate and adaptive immune systems.Neutrophils,the most abundant immune cells in circulation,are professional killers that orchestrate a series of events during acute inflammation.The recent literature indicates that autophagy has important roles in regulating neutrophil functions,including differentiation,degranulation,metabolism and neutrophil extracellular trap formation,that dictate neutrophil fate.It is also becoming increasingly clear that autophagy regulation is critical for neutrophils to exert their immunological activity.However,evidence regarding the systematic communication between neutrophils and autophagy is insufficient.Here,we provide an updated overview of the function of autophagy as a regulator of neutrophils and discuss its clinical relevance to provide novel insight into potentially relevant treatment strategies.Yao Yu Bingwei Sun 2020Burns & Trauma2020,8,1:5
5Mechanics of flexible and stretchable piezoelectrics for energy harvesting显示文摘As rapid development in wearable/implantable electronic devices benefit human life in daily health monitoring and disease treatment medically, all kinds of flexible and/or stretchable electronic devices are booming, together with which is the demanding of energy supply with similar mechanical property. Due to its ability in converting mechanical energy lying in human body into electric energy, energy harvesters based on piezoelectric materials are promising for applications in wearable/implantable device's energy supply in a renewable, clean and life-long way. Here the mechanics of traditional piezoelectrics in energy harvesting is reviewed, including why piezoelectricity is the choice for minor energy harvesting to power the implantable/wearable electronics and how. Different kinds of up to date flexible piezoelectric devices for energy harvesting are introduced, such as nanogenerators based on Zn O and thin and conformal energy harvester based on PZT. A detailed theoretical model of the flexible thin film energy harvester based on PZT nanoribbons is summarized, together with the in vivo demonstration of energy harvesting by integrating it with swine heart. 8Analysis of Vitamin P Content and Inheritance Models in Eggplant显示文摘The eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)is rich in vitamin P(also known as rutin),which is beneficial for humans.In this study,the vitamin P contents of 53 eggplant lines were measured via UV spectrophotometry.The results showed that the vitamin P content differed significantly among the eggplant lines and the actual contents of vitamin P in fresh fruit pulp and fresh peel were 0.18–0.82mg·g^−1 and 0.42–2.32mg·g^−1,respectively.Furthermore,themixed major gene and polygene inheritance modelmethod was used for the inheritance analysis of the vitamin P content in F2 populations of three hybridization combinations.Inheritance analysis demonstrated that the vitamin P content of these eggplant lines was a quantitative trait.One or two major genes were the contributor,and the genetic effect was an additive-dominance effect.The high vitamin P content trait was regulated by the main gene and followed an additive effect.The heritability of the major genes controlling the high vitamin P content was low,while the heritability of the major gene that controls the low vitamin P content trait was high.These results provide a theoretical basis for the breeding of eggplants with high vitamin P content.Riyue Dong Bingwei Yu Shuangshuang Yan Zhengkun Qiu Jianjun Lei Changming Chen Ye Li Bihao Cao 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4:3
9A brief review on anterior urethral strictures显示文摘The treatment of urethral strictures remains a challenging field in urology even though there are a variety of procedures to treat it at present,as no one approach is superior over another.This paper reviewed the surgical options for the management of different sites and types of anterior urethral stricture,providing a brief discussion of the controversies regarding this issue and suggesting possible future advancements.Among the existing procedures,simple dilation and direct vision internal urethrotomy are more commonly used for short urethral strictures(<1 cm,soft and no previous intervention).Currently,urethroplasty using buccal mucosa or penile skin is the most widely adopted clinical techniques and have proved successful.Nonetheless,complications such as donor site morbidity remain problem.Tissue engineering techniques are considered as a promising solution for urethral reconstruction,but require further investigation,as does stem cell therapy.Li Cheng Sen Li Zicheng Wang Bingwei Huang Jian Lin 2018Asian Journal of Urology2018,5,2:3
10Neutrophil-derived heparin binding protein triggers vascular leakage and synergizes with myeloperoxidase at the early stage of severe burns(With video)显示文摘Background:Burn shock caused by vascular leakage is one of the main causes of high mortality in severe burn injury.However,the pathophysiological mechanism of vascular leakage is still unclear.The purpose of this study was to explore the molecular mechanism of vascular leakage in the early stage of severe burn and provide a new target for the treatment of severe burns.Methods:Neutrophils were isolated from human peripheral blood by magnetic beads sorting.ELISA was used to detect neutrophil-derived granule proteins and glycocalyx injury products in plasma.The vascular leakage and neutrophil movement were assessed by in vivo laser confocal imaging in mice,and high-quality video were provided.Adhesion-related molecules were investigated by qRT-PCR.The damage to glycocalyx of mice vascular endothelial cellswas observed by transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope.Proteomic analysis,flow cytometry and immunofluorescence were used to further study the relationship between human peripheral blood neutrophil-derived hypochlorite(HOCl)and CD44 of human vascular endothelial cells.Results:In this study,we found that rapidly increasing activated neutrophils secrete heparin binding protein(HBP)andmyeloperoxidase(MPO)after severe burn injury.Increased HBP triggers vascular leakage with synergy of MPO,results in systemic edema and burn shock.Furthermore,we found that the MPO catalytic product HOCl but not MPO triggers CD44 extracellular domain shedding from vascular endothelial cells to damage the glycocalyx.Damage to the glycocalyx results in firm adhesion of neutrophils and increases vascular leakage.However,MPO inhibitors partially protect the glycocalyx of vascular endothelial cells.The combination of HBP and MPO inhibitors markedly reduces vascular leakage and systemic edema in the early stage of severe burns.Conclusions:Taken together,these data reveal that neutrophil-derived HBP and MPO play an important synergies role in triggering vascular leakage at the early stage of severe burns.Targeted intervention in these two biomolecules may introduce new strategies for helping to reduce large amount of fluid loss and subsequent burn shock.Lu Liu Yiming Shao Yixuan Zhang Yunxi Yang Jiamin Huang Linbin Li Ran Sun Yuying Zhou Yicheng Su Bingwei Sun 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:3
11Request Merging Based Cross-User Deduplication for Cloud Storage with Resistance Against Appending Chunks Attack显示文摘Cross-user deduplication is an emerging technique to eliminate redundant uploading in cloud storage.Its deterministic response indicating the existence of data creates a side channel to attackers,which makes the privacy in the cloud at risk.Such kind of attack as well as further appending chunks attack,still cannot be well resisted in current solutions,thus is becoming a big obstacle in using this technique.We propose a secure cross-user deduplication,called Request merging based deduplication scheme(RMDS),which takes the lead to consider resistance against appending chunks attack in a lightweight way,let alone side channel attack.We utilize the proposed XOR based chunk-level server-side storage structure together with a request merging strategy to obfuscate attackers in minimized communication overhead.The experiment results show that,with security guaranteed,the proposed scheme is more efficient comparing with the state of the art.TANG Xin ZHANG Yi ZHOU Linna LIU Dan HU Bingwei 2021Chinese Journal of Electronics2021,30,2:3
12Monte Carlo Simulation of in situ Gamma-Spectra Recorded by Na I(Tl) Detector in the Marine Environment显示文摘To develop a Na I(Tl) detector for in situ radioactivity monitoring in the marine environment and enhance the confidence of the probability of the gamma-spectrum analysis, Monte Carlo simulations using the Monte Carlo N-Particle( MNCP) code were performed to provide the response spectra of some interested radionuclides and the background spectra originating from the natural radionuclides in seawater recorded by a Na I(Tl) detector. A newly developed 75 mm × 75 mm Na I(Tl) detector was calibrated using four reference radioactive sources 137 Cs, 60 Co, 40 K and 54 Mn in the laboratory before the field measurements in seawater. A simulation model was established for the detector immersed in seawater. The simulated spectra were all broadened with Gaussian pulses to reflect the statistical fluctuations and electrical noise in the real measurement. The simulated spectra show that the single-energy photons into the detector are mostly scattering low-energy photons and the high background in the low energy region mainly originates from the Compton effect of the high energy γ-rays of natural radionuclides in seawater. The simulated background spectrum was compared with the experimental one recorded in field measurement and they seem to be in good agreement. 13Untangling the contributions of meteorological conditions and human mobility to tropospheric NO_(2) in Chinese mainland during the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020显示文摘In early 2020,unprecedented lockdowns and travel bans were implemented in Chinese mainland to fight COVID-19;which led to a large reduction in anthropogenic emissions.This provided a unique opportunity to isolate the effects from emission and meteorology on tropospheric nitrogen dioxide(N0_(2)).Comparing the atmospheric N0_(2) in 2020 with that in 2017,we found the changes of emission have led to a 49.3±23.5%reduction,which was〜12%more than satellite-observed reduction of 37.8±16.3%.The discrepancy was mainly a result of changes of meteorology,which have contributed to an 8.1±14.2%increase of N02.We also revealed that the emission-induced reduction of N02 has significantly negative correlations to human mobility,particularly that inside the city.The intra-city migration index derived from Baidu Location-Based-Service can explain 40.4%it 17.7%variance of the emission-induced reduction of N0_(2) in 29 megacities,each of which has a population of over 8 million in Chinese mainland.Yuxiang Zhang Haixu Bo Zhe Jiang Yu Wang Yunfei Fu Bingwei Cao Xuewen Wang Jiaqi Chen Rui Li 2021National Science Review2021,8,11:2
14Neutrophil extracellular traps contribute to myofibroblast differentiation and scar hyperplasia through the Toll-like receptor 9/nuclear factor Kappa-B/interleukin-6 pathway显示文摘Background:Inflammation is an important factor in pathological scarring.The role of neutrophils,one of the most important inflammatory cells,in scar hyperplasia remains unclear.The purpose of this article is to study the correlation between neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)and scar hyperplasia and identify a new target for inhibiting scar hyperplasia.Methods:Neutrophils were isolated from human peripheral blood by magnetic-bead sorting.NETs in plasma and scars were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISAs),immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.Immunohistochemistry was used to assess neutrophil(CD66B)infiltration in hypertrophic scars.To observe the entry of NETs into fibroblasts we used immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.Results:We found that peripheral blood neutrophils in patients with hypertrophic scars were more likely to form NETs(p<0.05).Hypertrophic scars showed greater infiltration with neutrophils and NETs(p<0.05).NETs activate fibroblasts in vitro to promote their differentiation and migration.Inhibition of NETs with cytochalasin in wounds reduced the hyperplasia of scars in mice.We induced neutrophils to generate NETs with different stimuli in vitro and detected the proteins carried by NETs.We did not find an increase in the expression of common scarring factors[interleukin(IL)-17 and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β),p>0.05].However,inhibiting the production of NETs or degrading DNA reduced the differentiation of fibroblasts intomyofibroblasts.In vitro,NETs were found to be mediated by Toll-like receptor 9(TLR-9)in fibroblasts and further phosphorylated nuclear factor Kappa-B(NF-κB).We found that IL-6,which is downstream of NF-κB,was increased in fibroblasts.Additionally,IL-6 uses autocrine and paracrine signaling to promote differentiation and secretion.Conclusions:Our experiments found that NETs activate fibroblasts through the TLR-9/NF-κB/IL-6 pathway,thereby providing a new target for regulating hypertrophic scars.Yiming Shao Zaiwen Guo Yunxi Yang Lu Liu Jiamin Huang Yi Chen Linbin Li Bingwei Sun 2022Burns & Trauma2022,10,1:2
15Stable ZnO/ionic liquid hybrid materials: novel dual-responsive superhydrophobic layers to light and anions显示文摘Novel dual-responsive superhydrophobic hybrid materials,ZnO/SAMs(self-assembled monolayers)of ionic liquids(ILs)with different counter-anions(I-,BF4-,PF6-and Tf2N-),were synthesized and characterized.ZnO nanoparticles were first deposited on glass surfaces to produce roughness.Next,SAMs of fluorinated-alkyl-3-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)-4,5-dihydro-imidazoliumiodide(abb.[C8Ftespim]I)were grafted onto these surfaces via-Si-O-covalent bonds using self-assembly technique.The Iion could be subsequently exchanged with BF4-,PF6-or Tf2N-through a simple aqueous anion-exchange reaction.The ZnO/ILs hybrid layers were characterized by atomic-force microscopy(AFM),scanning-electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Their wettability was estimated through the measurements of static and dynamic contact angles(CAs).Compared to corresponding films of ZnO/[C8Ftespim]I with CAs 140.7°±2.0°,films of ZnO/[C8Ftespim]PF6 and ZnO/[C8Ftespim]Tf2N showed CAs with 154.0°±2.0°and 152.0°±2.0°,respectively that remained for a long time.This result suggests that anion-exchange can afford superhydrophobic materials.In addition,the wettability of ZnO/[C8Ftespim]X hybrid layers can be reversibly switched by altering ultraviolet(UV)irradiation and dark storage,which shows a photo-induced reversible switch of wettability.The synergistic action of ZnO nanoparticles and SAMs of ILs produced light-anion dual-responsive superhydrophobic materials with ideal stability.LI HongLiang XIN BingWei FENG Lei HAO JingCheng 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,7:2
16HSO_3-functionalized Br nsted acidic ionic liquids promote esterification of aromatic acid显示文摘Esterification of aromatic acid can be promoted via HSO3-functionalized Br nsted acidic ionic liquids (ILs). Under the optimum conditions, using 1-(3-sulfonic acid) propyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate ([MimC3SO3H][HSO4]) and 1-(4-sulfonic acid) butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate ([MimC 4 SO 3 H][HSO4 ]) as dual solvent-catalysts, the conversion of esterification of aromatic acid was determined to be more than 90%, indicating that HSO3-functionalized ILs show much better catalytic ability than those of non-functionalized ionic liquids. The separation of desired product was easily performed by extraction with diethyl ether and these HSO3-functionalized ILs could be reused 7 times after vacuum drying. 17Ion-vacancy coupled charge transfer model for ion transport in concentrated solutions显示文摘We present a conceptual framework for understanding and formulating ion transport in concentrated solutions, which pictures the ion transport as an ion-vacancy coupled charge transfer reaction. A key element in this picture is that the transport of an ion from an occupied to unoccupied site involves a transition state which exerts double volume exclusion. An ab initio random walk model is proposed to describe this process. Subsequent coarse-graining results in a continuum formula as a function of chemical potentials of the constituents, which are further derived from a lattice-gas model. The subtlety here is that what has been taken to be the chemical potential of the ion in the past is actually that of the ion-vacancy couple. By aid of this new concept, the driving force of ion transport is essentially the chemical affinity of the ion-vacancy coupled charge transfer reaction, which is a useful concept to unify transport and reaction, two fundamental processes in electrochemistry. This phenomenological model is parameterized for a specific material by the aid of first-principles calculations. 18北方半干旱草原生态系统光合参数的季节和年际变异显示文摘生态系统表观量子效率(α)、最大光合速率(P_(max))和暗呼吸速率(R_(d))不仅反映了生态系统水平光合生理特征,同时也是碳循环模型中光合过程模拟的关键参数。气候和植被因子都会影响光合参数的季节和年际变异,但二者在光合参数调控过程中的相对贡献和作用途径尚不清晰。本研究基于连续12年(2006-2017)的涡度相关观测数据,分析了内蒙古半干旱典型草原光合参数的季节和年际变化规律利用回归分析和结构方程模型(SEM)方法明晰了环境和生理调控的作用途径及相对贡献。结果发现,光合参数(α、P_(max)和R)均表现出单峰的季节变化趋势,并呈现明显的年际波动。温度(T_(a))和土壤含水量(SWC)的变化共同影响光合参数的季节变化,而SWC主导了其年际变异。α和R_(d)的变化主要由T_(a)决定,而P_(max)的变化主要受SWC的影响。SEM模型分析表明,除了直接作用外,环境因子主要通过影响冠层水平气孔导度(gc)对光合参数和碳同化生理过程进行调控。此外,叶面积指数对光合参数特别是Pmax的季节和年际变异起主要调控作用。以上结果明确了环境和植被共同决定了生态系统水平光合参数的季节和年际变异,并强调了在水分受限的草原生态系统中,植被生理调控在光合碳同化能力和碳汇功能评估中的重要作用。Cuihai You Yanbing Wang Xingru Tan Bingwei Zhang Tingting Ren Boyu Chen Mengzhen Xu Shiping Chen 2022Journal of Plant Ecology2022,15,5:1
