| 1 | Identification and Characterization of Proteins Associated with Plant Tolerance to Heat Stress显示文摘Heat stress is a major abiotic stress limiting plant growth and productivity in many areas of the world. Understanding mechanisms of plant adaptation to heat stress would facilitate the development of heat-tolerant cultivars for improving productivity in warm climatic regions. Protein metabolism involving protein synthesis and degradation is one of the most sensitive processes to heat stress. Changes in the level and expression pattern of some proteins may play an important role in plant adaptation to heat stress. The identification of stress-responsive proteins and pathways has been facilitated by an increasing number of tools and resources, including two-dimensional electrophoresis and mass spectrometry, and the rapidly expanding nucleotide and amino acid sequence databases. Heat stress may induce or enhance protein expression or cause protein degradation. The induction of heat-responsive proteins, particularly heat shock proteins (HSPs), plays a key role in plant tolerance to heat stress. Protein degradation involving various proteases is also important in regulating plant responses to heat stress. | 2 | An Incremental Algorithm to Feature Selection in Decision Systems with the Variation of Feature Set显示文摘Feature selection is a challenging problem in pattern recognition and machine learning. In real-life applications, feature set in the decision systems may vary over time. There are few studies on feature selection with the variation of feature set. This paper focuses on this issue, an incremental feature selection algorithm in dynamic decision systems is developed based on dependency function. The incremental algorithm avoids some recomputations, rather than retrain the dynamic decision system as new one to compute the feature subset from scratch. We firstly employ an incremental manner to update the new dependency function, then we incorporate the calculated dependency function into the incremental feature selection algorithm. Compared with the direct(non-incremental) algorithm, the computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm is improved. | 5 | Preparation and application of amino functionalized mesoporous nanofiber membrane via electrospinning for adsorption of Cr^(3+) from aqueous solution显示文摘Novel amino(-NH 2) functionalized mesoporous polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)/SiO 2 composite nanofiber membranes were fabricated by a one-step electrospinning method using poly(vinyl alcohol) and tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS) mixed with cationic surfactant,cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB) as the structure directing agent.Ureidopropyltriethoxysilane was used for functionalization of the internal pore surfaces.The membranes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) images,X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),element analyzer and N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherms.The nanofiber diameters,average pore diameters and surface areas were 100-700 nm,2.86 nm and 873.62 m 2 /g,respectively.These mesoporous membranes functionalized with-NH 2 groups exhibited very high adsorptions properties based on the adsorption of Cr 3+ from an aqueous solution.Equilibrium adsorption was achieved after approximately 20 min and more than 97% of chromium ions in the solution were removed.The membrane could be regenerated through acidification. | Ahmed A.Taha Junlian Qiao Fengting Li Bingru Zhang | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,4: | 6 |

To solve this problem, KD (D&K), which is a comprehensive knowledge discovery process model cooper- ating both database and knowledge base, and related technology are proposed. Then based on KD (D&K) and related technology, the new construction of Expert System based on Knowledge Discovery (ESKD) is proposed. As the key knowledge acquisition component of ESKD, KD (D&K) is composed of KDD* and KDK*. KDD*- the new process model based on double bases cooperating mechanism; KDK*- the new process model based on double-basis fusion mechanism are introduced, respectively. The overall framework of ESKD is proposed. Some sub-systems and dynamic knowledge base system are discussed. Finally, the effectiveness and ad- vantages of ESKD are tested in a real-world agriculture database. | 8 | A new intelligent prediction system model-the compound pyramid model显示文摘A current development trend in research on intelligent systems is to optimize a general intelligent prediction system into an individuation intelligent prediction system that is applied in specialized fields. Protein structure prediction is a challenging international issue. In this paper, we propose a new intelligent prediction system model, designed as a multi-layer compound pyramid model, for predicting secondary protein structure. The model comprises four independent intelligent interfaces and several knowledge discovery methods. The model penetrates throughout the domain knowledge, with the effective attributes chosen by Causal Cellular Automata. Furthermore, a high pure structure database is constructed for training. On the RS126 dataset, the overall state per-residue accuracy, Q3, reached 83.99%, while on the CB513 dataset, Q3 reached 85.58%. Meanwhile, on the CASP8 sequences, the results are superior to those produced by other methods, such as Psipred, Jpred, APSSP2 and BehairPred. | 10 | Protein phosphorylation associated with drought priming-enhanced heat tolerance in a temperate grass species显示文摘Protein phosphorylation is known to play crucial roles in plant tolerance to individual stresses,but how protein phosphorylation is associated with cross-stress tolerance,particularly drought priming-enhanced heat tolerance is largely unknown.The objectives of the present study were to identify phosphorylated proteins and phosphorylation sites that were responsive to drought priming and to determine whether drought priming-enhanced heat tolerance in temperate grass species involves changes in protein phosphorylation.Comparative analysis of phosphoproteomic profiles was performed on leaves of tall fescue(Festuca arundinacea)exposed to heat stress(38/33°C,day/night)with or without drought priming.A total of 569 differentially regulated phosphoproteins(DRPs)with 1098 phosphorylation sites were identified in response to drought priming or heat stress individually or sequentially.Most DRPs were nuclear-localized and cytosolic proteins.Motif analysis detected[GS],[DSD],and[S..E]as major phosphorylation sites in casein kinase-II and mitogen-activated protein kinases regulated by drought priming and heat stress.Functional annotation and gene ontology analysis demonstrated that DRPs in response to drought priming and in droughtprimed plants subsequently exposed to heat stress were mostly enriched in four major biological processes,including RNA splicing,transcription control,stress protection/defense,and stress perception/signaling.These results suggest the involvement of post-translational regulation of the aforementioned biological processes and signaling pathways in drought priming memory and cross-tolerance with heat stress in a temperate grass species. | Xiaxiang Zhang Lili Zhuang Yu Liu Zhimin Yang Bingru Huang | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 2 |

| 15 | Cardiorespiratory Effects of Indoor Ozone Exposure Associated with Changes in Metabolic Profiles among Children:A Repeated-Measure Panel Study显示文摘Ozone is one of the major gaseous pollutants associated with short-term adverse cardiopulmonary effects,even at concentrations below the current indoor air quality limits.However,the underlying biological mechanisms of cardiorespiratory changes with exposure to ozone remain unclear.To further explore molecular linkages between indoor ozone exposure and relevant cardiorespiratory effects,a repeated-measure panel study including 46 schoolchildren was conducted and real-time exposure measurements including ozone were performed inside classrooms every weekday during the study period.Repeated health measurements and urine sample collection were conducted in each participant.Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry and meet-in-metabolite approach were used in metabolomics analysis.Methods including mixed-effect models were adopted to identify metabolites associated with ozone exposure or health indices.Nine metabolites were found to be associated with ozone after mixed-effect model analysis,which are mainly involved in amino acid and bile acid metabolism.Boys may have a greater decrease in bile acid and RNA related metabolites.Four of the nine ozone-related metabolites were also associated with cardiorespiratory function indices.Furthermore,26.67%of the positive association between ozone and heart rate was mediated by cholestane-3,7,12,25-tetrol-3-glucuronide.Exposure to ozone below the current indoor standards was associated with the deteriorated cardiovascular function by disturbing bile acid and endogenous nitric oxide-related oxidation and inflammation,and associated with the exacerbated airway inflammation by reducing GPx-related anti-oxidation.The results provide metabolic evidence of the cardiorespiratory effects of indoor ozone exposure.Indoor ozone pollution should be controlled further,and more attention should be paid to preventing its adverse health effects,especially in children. | Shan Liu Qingyu Huang Xi Zhang Wei Dong Wenlou Zhang Shaowei Wu Di Yang Bingru Nan Jie Zhang Heqing Shen Xinbiao Guo Furong Deng | 2021 | The Innovation2021,2,1: | 1 |
