| 1 | Application of bioactive hydrogels combined with dental pulp stem cells for the repair of large gap peripheral nerve injuries显示文摘Due to the limitations in autogenous nerve grafting or Schwann cell transplantation,large gap peripheral nerve injuries require a bridging strategy supported by nerve conduit.Cell based therapies provide a novel treatment for peripheral nerve injuries.In this study,we first experimented an optimal scaffold material synthesis protocol,from where we selected the 10%GFD formula(10%GelMA hydrogel,recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor and dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs))to fill a cellulose/soy protein isolate composite membrane(CSM)tube to construct a third generation of nerve regeneration conduit,CSM-GFD.Then this CSM-GFD conduit was applied to repair a 15-mm long defect of sciatic nerve in a rat model.After 12 week post implant surgery,at histologic level,we found CSM-GFD conduit could regenerate nerve tissue like neuron and Schwann like nerve cells and myelinated nerve fibers.At physical level,CSM-GFD achieved functional recovery assessed by a sciatic functional index study.In both levels,CSM-GFD performed like what gold standard,the nerve autograft,could do.Further,we unveiled that almost all newly formed nerve tissue at defect site was originated from the direct differentiation of exogeneous DPSCs in CSM-GFD.In conclusion,we claimed that this third-generation nerve regeneration conduit,CSM-GFD,could be a promising tissue engineering approach to replace the conventional nerve autograft to treat the large gap defect in peripheral nerve injuries. | Lihua Luo Yan He Ling Jin Yanni Zhang Fernando P.Guastaldi Abdullkhaleg A.Albashari Fengting Hu Xiaoyan Wang Lei Wang Jian Xiao Lingli Li Jianming Wang Akon Higuchi Qingsong Ye | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,3: | 11 |

| 3 | Preparation of monolayer-assembled fluorescent film and its sensing performances to hidden nitroaromatic explosives显示文摘Pyrene was chemically assembled on a glass plate surface in a monolayer manner via spacers con-taining triethylenetetramine (TETA) subunits. It has been demonstrated that the fluorescence emission of the film is sensitive to the presence of trace amount of nitroaromatic compound (NAC) vapors. As discovered in the present work, the response selectivity of the pyrene-functionalized film depends on the length of the spacer, the vapor pressure of a given NAC, and the quencher size. The film shows faster response to those quenchers which have higher vapor pressure and smaller size. Compared to the film with shorter spacers, the present film with longer flexible spacers shows a slower response to the NACs, but higher selectivity to the quencher size. Additionally, the detection limits to common ex-plosives in vapor phase, 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) and 2,4-dinitrotoluene (DNT), are 7.14×10-12 and 5.49×10-11 g·mL-1, respectively. | 10 | Specific Responses of Soil Microbial Residue Carbon to Long-Term Mineral Fertilizer Applications to Reddish Paddy Soils显示文摘Mineral nutrient inputs to soil may alter microbial activity and consequently influence the accumulation of microbial residues. In this study, we investigated the effects of application rates and ratios of mineral fertilizers on the microbial residue carbon(MRC) of reddish paddy soils after long-term(15-year) fertilizer applications in southern China. Contents of three soil amino sugars as microbial residue contents were determined and MRC were calculated based on amino sugars. Results showed that three individual amino sugar contents increased as fertilizer application rates increased until maximum values were reached at a rate of 450-59-187 kg ha^(-1) year^(-1)(N-P-K). The three amino sugar contents then declined significantly under the highest mineral fertilizer application rate of 675-88-280 kg ha^(-1) year^(-1)(N-P-K). In addition, to enhance the microbial residue contents, it was more beneficial to double P(N:P:K= 1:0.26:0.41) in fertilizers applied to the P-deficient reddish paddy soils than to double either N(N:P:K = 2:0.13:0.41) or K(N:P:K= 1:0.13:0.82). The contents of the three individual amino sugars and microbial residues under different fertilizer application rates and ratios were significantly and positively correlated with soil organic carbon(SOC), total N, total P, and p H. Increases in values of the fungal C to bacterial C ratios showed that soil organic matter(SOM) stability increased because of the fertilizer applications over the past 15 years. The contents and ratios of amino sugars can be used as indicators to evaluate the impact of mineral fertilizer applications on SOM dynamics in subtropical paddy soils. | 13 | Solar-Driven Producing of Value-Added Chemicals with Organic Semiconductor-Bacteria Biohybrid System显示文摘Photosynthetic biohybrid systems exhibit promising performance in biosynthesis;however,these systems can only produce a single metabolite and cannot further transform carbon sources into highly valuable chemical production.Herein,a photosynthetic biohybrid system integrating biological and chemical cascade synthesis was developed for solar-driven conversion of glucose to value-added chemicals.A new ternary cooperative biohybrid system,namely bacterial factory,was constructed by self-assembling of enzyme-modified light-harvesting donor-acceptor conjugated polymer nanoparticles(D-A CPNs)and genetically engineered Escherichia coli(E.coli).The D-A CPNs coating on E.coli could effectively generate electrons under light irradiation,which were transferred into E.coli to promote the 37%increment of threonine production by increasing the ratio of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH).Subsequently,the metabolized threonine was catalyzed by threonine deaminase covalently linking with D-A CPNs to obtain 2-oxobutyrate,which is an important precursor of drugs and chemicals.The 2-oxobutyrate yield under light irradiation is increased by 58%in comparison to that in dark.This work provides a new organic semiconductor-microorganism photosynthetic biohybrid system for biological and chemical cascade synthesis of highly valuable chemicals by taking advantage of renewable carbon sources and solar energy. | Wen Yu Haotian Bai Yue Zeng Hao Zhao Shengpeng Xia Yiming Huang Fengting Lv Shu Wang | 2022 | Research2022,,3: | 2 |

Consequently, it is urgent to find new antibiotics with efficient broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. By virtue of versatility in molecular design, a new peptide-like cell membrane-broken molecule, oligo-(7,7′-bifluoren-benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole)(OFBT) possessing a conjugated backbone and eight pendant guanidyl moieties was designed and synthesized. OFBT exhibits favorable broad-spectrum of antimicrobial activity to pathogens including Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and fungi with the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)below 3.0 μM. | 19 | Immobilization of pyrene on quartz plate surface via a flexible long spacer and its sensing properties to dicarboxylic acids显示文摘A novel photo-induced luminescence film has been prepared by immobilizing pyrene on quartz plate surface via a flexible long spacer, 1,3-diaminopropane and 3-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane. The film shows combined monomer and excimer emission of pyrene in both wet and dry states. Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence emission meas-urements demonstrated that the excimer emission mainly came from direct excitation of ground state dimers, and/or monomers in aggregated state. Classical Birks?scheme plays little role in the formation of the excimers. The structures of the excimers formed during the excitation are complex. Both standard excimer of sandwich-like fully overlapped structure and distorted ex-cimer of partially overlapped structure exist in the excited state of the fluorophore. The emission of the film is sensitive to the presence of dicarboxylic acids, including ethanedioic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid, etc. The emission in the monomer and excimer region increases along with increasing the concentration of the dicarboxylic acids. The time needed for the emission to reach equilibrium depends on the nature of the acids. It has been shown that the longer the chain length of the acids, the more the time needed. This observation is explained by considering the conformational reorganization of the immobilized pyrene due to insertion of the dicarboxylic acids into the space between neighboring spacers. Experimental results from similar studies using formic acid and acetic acid are in support of this explanation.
