| 1 | A Switching Controller System for a Wheeled Mobile Robot显示文摘A wheeled mobile mechanism with a passive and/or active linkage mechanism for rough terrain environment is developed and evaluated. The wheeled mobile mechanism which has high mobility in rough terrain needs sophisticated system to adapt various environments. We focus on the development of a switching controller system for wheeled mobile robots in rough terrain. This system consists of two sub-systems: an environment recognition system using link angles and an adaptive control system. In the en- vironment recognition system, we introduce a Self-Organizing Map (SOM) for clustering link angles. In the adaptive control- lers, we introduce neural networks to calculate the inverse model of the wheeled mobile robot. The environment recognition system can recognize the environment in which the robot travels, and the adjustable con- trollers are tuned by experimental results for each environment. The dual sub-system switching controller system is experi- mentally evaluated. The system recognizes its environment and adapts by switching the adjustable controllers. | 2 | A Trial Study of Propranolol and Zhigancao Decoction on the Central Depressant and Anti-osteoporosic Action in Ovariectomized Rats显示文摘Objective: This study was originally designed to observe the effects of propranolol (a β-blocker) and Zhigancao Decoction (炙甘草汤 ZGCD) on bone mass in ovariectomized rats. Methods: Thirty-eight female Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups initially, a sham-operated group (Sham, n=7), a model ovariectomized (OVX) group (Model, n=7), a propranolol group (Pro, n=12) and a ZGCD group (ZGCD, n=12). After 15 weeks of treatment, the expected effects were not found. In order to verify the situations of the experiment, we modified the study by administering calcitonin to a subgroup of the tested Pro and ZGCD rats. Results: The Pro and ZGCD treatments showed decreased heart rate and plasma norepinephrine level, but neither an increased bone mass nor any bone metabolism differences from the model rats were found. However, the OVX-induced bone loss was prevented by the sequent treatment of calcitonin. A recently developed ultrathin transnasal videoendoscope (TNE) is minimally invasive even for critically ill patients and can be performed without conscious sedation. Transnasal endoscopic biliary drainage (TNE-BD) is performed using a frontviewing TNE with approximately 5 mm outer diameter and 2 mm working channel diameter. Finally, 5F nasobiliary tube or plastic stent are placed. Technical success rates are approximately 100% and 70% for postendoscopic sphincterotomy or placement of self-expandable metallic stent, and intact papilla, respectively. There are no serious complications.
