| 1 | Improved corrosion resistance and thermal stability of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets with holmium substitution显示文摘The effects of Ho substitution for Nd on the microstructure, corrosion resistance and thermal stability of the Nd-Fe-B magnets were investigated. The(Nd,Ho)-O phase was formed with increasing Ho substitution. The results of potentiodynamic polarization and highly accelerated stress test show improved corrosion resistance with increasing Ho substitution. The optimum mass loss 0.29 mg/cm^2 is achieved.Moreover, the average temperature coefficients for remanence and coercivity in the range of 25-150℃are both closer to zero, indicating improved thermal stability. | 2 | An integrated approach for increasing breeding efficiency in apple and peach in Europe显示文摘Despite the availability of whole genome sequences of apple and peach,there has been a considerable gap between genomics and breeding.To bridge the gap,the European Union funded the FruitBreedomics project(March 2011 to August 2015)involving 28 research institutes and private companies.Three complementary approaches were pursued:(i)tool and software development,(ii)deciphering genetic control of main horticultural traits taking into account allelic diversity and(iii)developing plant materials,tools and methodologies for breeders.Decisive breakthroughs were made including the making available of ready-to-go DNA diagnostic tests for Marker Assisted Breeding,development of new,dense SNP arrays in apple and peach,new phenotypic methods for some complex traits,software for gene/QTL discovery on breeding germplasm via Pedigree Based Analysis(PBA).This resulted in the discovery of highly predictive molecular markers for traits of horticultural interest via PBA and via Genome Wide Association Studies(GWAS)on several European genebank collections.FruitBreedomics also developed pre-breeding plant materials in which multiple sources of resistance were pyramided and software that can support breeders in their selection activities.Through FruitBreedomics,significant progresses were made in the field of apple and peach breeding,genetics,genomics and bioinformatics of which advantage will be made by breeders,germplasm curators and scientists.A major part of the data collected during the project has been stored in the FruitBreedomics database and has been made available to the public.This review covers the scientific discoveries made in this major endeavour,and perspective in the apple and peach breeding and genomics in Europe and beyond. | Francois Laurens Maria JoséAranzana Pere Arus Daniele Bassi Marco Bink Joan Bonany Andrea Caprera Luca Corelli-Grappadelli Evelyne Costes Charles-Eric Durel Jehan-Baptiste Mauroux Hélène Muranty Nelson Nazzicari Thierry Pascal Andrea Patocchi Andreas Peil Bénédicte Quilot-Turion Laura Rossini Alessandra Stella Michela Troggio Riccardo Velasco Eric van de Weg | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018，5，1： | 10 |
| 3 | Application of a biochemical and clinical model to predict individual survival in patients with end-stage liver disease显示文摘AIM:To investigate the capability of a biochemical and clinical model,BioCliM,in predicting the survival of cirrhotic patients.METHODS:We prospectively evaluated the survival of 172 cirrhotic patients.The model was constructed using clinical(ascites,encephalopathy and variceal bleeding) and biochemical(serum creatinine and serum total bilirubin) variables that were selected from a Cox proportional hazards model.It was applied to estimate 12-,52-and 104-wk survival.The model's calibration using the Hosmer-Lemeshow statistic was computed at 104 wk in a validation dataset.Finally,the model's validity was tested among an independent set of 85 patients who were stratified into 2 risk groups(low risk≤8 and high risk>8).RESULTS:In the validation cohort,all measures of fi t,discrimination and calibration were improved when the biochemical and clinical model was used.The proposed model had better predictive values(c-statistic:0.90,0.91,0.91) than the Model for End-stage Liver Disease(MELD) and Child-Pugh(CP) scores for 12-,52-and 104-wk mortality,respectively.In addition,the Hosmer-Lemeshow(H-L) statistic revealed that the biochemical and clinical model(H-L,4.69) is better calibrated than MELD(H-L,17.06) and CP(H-L,14.23).There were no significant differences between the observed and expected survival curves in the stratified risk groups(low risk,P=0.61;high risk,P=0.77).CONCLUSION:Our data suggest that the proposed model is able to accurately predict survival in cirrhotic patients. | Eduardo Vilar Gomez Luis Calzadilla Bertot Bienvenido Gra Oramas Enrique Arus Soler Raimundo Llanio Navarro Javier Diaz Elias Oscar Villa Jiménez Maria del Rosario Abreu Vazquez | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，22： | 6 |
| 4 | Optical orbital angular momentum multiplexing communication via inversely-designed multiphase plane light conversion显示文摘Multiplexing and demultiplexing of optical orbital angular momentum(OAM)are critical operations in modedivision multiplexing communications.Traditional Dammann gratings,spiral phase planes,and optical geometric transformations are regarded as convenient methods for OAM mode(de)multiplexing.However,crosstalk between the different modes and the difficulty of mode multiplexing greatly limit their application to modedivision multiplexing communications.Here,using a set of inversely-designed phase planes,we demonstrate an OAM(de)multiplexer based on multiphase plane light conversion that can enable perfect OAM multiplexing communication.The sorted patterns are Gaussian-like and can be coupled easily into single-mode fiber arrays.Inputs from the fiber array are turned into coaxial OAM modes after the phase planes.OAM mode crosstalk generated by the multiplexer is less than-20 d B,with insertion loss of less than 2.6 d B.OAM modes are sorted by the demultiplexer with mode crosstalk below-10 d B,and the sorting results are coupled to the fiber array.OAM modes carrying 10 Gbit/s on–off keying signals were transmitted in a 5 km few-mode fiber.The measured bit-error-rate curves have power penalties of less than 10 d B.The proposed configuration is highly efficient and convenient and will be beneficial for potential applications in quantum information,information processing,and optical communications. | JUNCHENG FANG JINPEI LI ARU KONG YOUPENG XIE CHUXUAN LIN ZHENWEI XIE TING LEI XIAOCONG YUAN | 2022 | Photonics Research2022，10，9： | 3 |
| 5 | Structure and magnetocaloric effect in melt-spun La(Fe,Si)_(13) and MnFePGe compounds显示文摘The magnetocaloric properties of melt-spun La(Fe,Si)13 and MnFePGe compounds were investigated. Very large value of magnetic entropy change |ΔS|=31 and 35.4 J·(kg·K)-1 under 5 T were obtained at 201 K in LaFe11.8Si1.2 melt-spun ribbons and at around 317 K in Mn1.1Fe0.9P0.76Ge0.24 melt-spun ribbons, respectively. The large magnetocaloric effect results from a more homogenous element distribution related to the very high cooling rate during melt-spinning. | 6 | Antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects of Viusid in patients with chronic hepatitis C显示文摘AIM:To investigate the efficacy of Viusid,a nutritional supplement,as an antioxidant and an immunomodulator in patients with chronic hepatitis C.METHODS:Sixty patients with chronic hepatitis C who were non-responders to standard antiviral treatment were randomly assigned to receive Viusid(3 sachets daily,n=30) or placebo(n=30) for 24 wk.The primary outcome was the change in serum malondialdehyde and 4-hydroxyalkenals(lipid peroxidation products).Secondary outcomes were changes in serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interferon-γ(IFN-γ) and interleukin-10(IL-10).RESULTS:Statistically significant reductions in serum 4-hydroxyalkenals and malondialdehyde levels were observed in both groups in comparison with pretreatment values,but the patients who received Viusid showed a more marked reduction as compared with the control group(P=0.001).TNF-α levels significantly increased from 6.9 to 16.2 pg/mL(P< 0.01) in the patients who received placebo in comparison with almost unchanged levels,from 6.6 to 7.1 pg/mL(P=0.26),in the patients treated with Viusid(P=0.001).In addition,IL-10 levels were markedly increased in the patients treated with Viusid(from 2.6 to 8.3 pg/mL,P=0.04) in contrast to the patients assigned to placebo(from 2.8 to 4.1 pg/mL,P=0.09)(P=0.01).Likewise,the administration of Viusid markedly increased mean IFN-γ levels from 1.92 to 2.89 pg/mL(P< 0.001) in comparison with a reduction in mean levels from 1.80 to 1.68 pg/mL(P=0.70) in the placebo group(P< 0.0001).Viusid administration was well tolerated.CONCLUSION:Our results indicate that treatment with Viusid leads to a notable improvement of oxidative stress and immunological parameters in patients with chronic hepatitis C. | Eduardo Vilar Gomez Yadina Martinez Perez Hector Vega Sanchez Gretel Riveron Forment Enrique Arus Soler Luis Calzadilla Bertot Ali Yasells Garcia Maria del Rosario Abreu Vazquez Licet Gonzalez Fabian | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，21： | 2 |
| 7 | Ganglion cells apoptosis in diabetic rats as early prediction of glaucoma:a study of Brn3b gene expression and association with change of quantity of NO, caspase-3, NF-κB, and TNF-α显示文摘AIM:To find a new concept to show whether or not apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)canbe determined in the histology of acute hyperglycemia in the role of expressed Brn3b gene related to nitric oxide(NO),caspase-3,nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)as an early predictor of primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)eyes and their associations.METHODS:Experimental in vivo study was carried out using adult male,white Sprague-Dawley rats aged≥2 mo,weighing 150-200 g.The animals were divided into two groups,one group receiving intraperitoneal injection of streptozotociz 50 mg/kg in 0.01 mol/L citricbuffer and p H 4.5 and a comparison made with the control group.Retinal tissue was divided into two parts(both experimental and control groups respectively):a)right retina for immunohistochemistry(IHC;caspase-3 and TNF-α);b)left retina was divided into two parts for the purpose of real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)test(RNA extraction for Brn3b gene expression analysis)and ELISA test(NO and NF-κB).RESULTS:The experimental group showed a decrease in Brn3b gene expression compared to the control group(1.3-fold lower in 2nd month;1.1-fold lower in 4th month and 2.5-fold lower in 6th month).However,there was a decrease of NO,caspase-3,and an increase of NF-κB and TNF-αquantity.CONCLUSION:The expression of m RNA Brn3b gene is inversely proportional to apoptosis in RGCs.The quantity of NO,caspase-3,NF-κB and TNF-αis influential in expression of Brn3b in RGCs caused by hyperglycemia in diabetic rats. | Irwan Tjandra Purnomo Soeharso Widya Artini Nurjati Chairani Siregar Andi Arus Victor | 2020 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020，13，12： | 2 |
