| 4 | Sickle cell cholangiopathy:An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography evaluation显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the role of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) in patients with sickle cell disease(SCD) .METHODS:Two hundred and twenty four SCD patients with cholestatic jaundice(CJ) had ERCP.The indications for ERCP were based on clinical and biochemical evidence of CJ and ultrasound findings.RESULTS:Two hundred and forty ERCPs were performed.The indications for ERCP were:CJ only in 79,CJ and dilated bile ducts without stones in 103,and CJ and bile duct stones in 42.For those with CJ only,ERCP was normal in 42(53.2%) ,and 13(16.5%) had dilated bile ducts without an obstructive cause.In the remaining 22,there were bile duct stones with or without dilation.For those with CJ,dilated bile ducts and no stones,ERCP was normal in 17(16.5%) ,and 28(27.2%) had dilated bile ducts without an obstructive cause.In the remaining 58,there were bile ducts stones with or without dilation.For those with CJ and bile duct stones,ERCP was normal in two(4.8%) ,and 14(33.3%) had dilated bile ducts without an obstructive cause.In the remaining 26,there were bile duct stones with or without dilatation.CONCLUSION:Considering the high frequency of biliary sludge and bile duct stones in SCD,endoscopic sphincterotomy might prove helpful in these patients. | Hussain Issa Ali Al-Haddad Ahmed Al-Salem | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,42: | 1 |

| 9 | Pulmonary Diseases Decision Support System Using Deep Learning Approach显示文摘Pulmonary diseases are common throughout the world,especially in developing countries.These diseases include chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases,pneumonia,asthma,tuberculosis,fibrosis,and recently COVID-19.In general,pulmonary diseases have a similar footprint on chest radiographs which makes them difficult to discriminate even for expert radiologists.In recent years,many image processing techniques and artificial intelligence models have been developed to quickly and accurately diagnose lung diseases.In this paper,the performance of four popular pretrained models(namely VGG16,DenseNet201,DarkNet19,and XceptionNet)in distinguishing between different pulmonary diseases was analyzed.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first published study to ever attempt to distinguish all four cases normal,pneumonia,COVID-19 and lung opacity from ChestX-Ray(CXR)images.All models were trained using Chest-X-Ray(CXR)images,and statistically tested using 5-fold cross validation.Using individual models,XceptionNet outperformed all other models with a 94.775%accuracy and Area Under the Curve(AUC)of Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)of 99.84%.On the other hand,DarkNet19 represents a good compromise between accuracy,fast convergence,resource utilization,and near real time detection(0.33 s).Using a collection of models,the 97.79%accuracy achieved by Ensemble Features was the highest among all surveyed methods,but it takes the longest time to predict an image(5.68 s).An efficient effective decision support system can be developed using one of those approaches to assist radiologists in the field make the right assessment in terms of accuracy and prediction time,such a dependable system can be used in rural areas and various healthcare sectors. | Yazan Al-Issa Ali Mohammad Alqudah Hiam Alquran Ahmed Al Issa | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10: | 0 |

| 12 | Towards the integration of nanoemitters by direct laser writing on optical glass waveguides显示文摘A major challenge towards nanophotonics is the integration of nanoemitters on optical chips.Combining the optical properties of nanoemitters with the benefits of integration and scalability of integrated optics is still a major issue to overcome.In this work,we demonstrate the integration of nanoemitters positioned in a controlled manner onto a substrate and onto an optical ion-exchanged glass waveguide via direct laser writing based on twophoton polymerization.Our nanoemitters are colloidal CdSe/ZnS quantum dots(QDs)embedded in polymeric nanostructures.By varying the laser parameters during the patterning process,we make size-controlled QDpolymer nanostructures that were systematically characterized using optical and structural methods.Structures as small as 17 nm in height were fabricated.The well-controlled QD-polymer nanostructure systems were then successfully integrated onto a new photonic platform for nanophotonics made of an ion-exchanged waveguide.We show that our QDs maintain their light emitting quality after integration as verified by photoluminescence(PL)measurements.Ultimately,QD emission coupled to our waveguides is detected through a home-built fiber-edge coupling PL measurement setup.Our results show the potential for future integration of nanoemitters onto complex photonic chips. | XIAOLUN XU AURÉLIE BROUSSIER TIZIANA RITACCO MACKRINE NAHRA FABIEN GEOFFRAY ALI ISSA SAFI JRADI RENAUD BACHELOT CHRISTOPHE COUTEAU AND SYLVAIN BLAIZE | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,9: | 0 |
